Comments: 20, on the topic: Announcement: Yongnuo YNLens YN35mm F2s DF DSM

  • B. R. P.

    The price tag, however.

    • Victor

The price tag, however, is very democratic, and this is in the presence of a considerable number of special elements in the design.

Alternatives? Samyang is darker by a stop and more expensive, native from Sony - much more expensive, sigma is lighter by a stop, but much larger and more expensive than all three))

      • Rodion

Yes, yes. Only the picture is probably boring. Photo from him to see.

        • Arkady Shapoval

They promised to send it to me, the only question is when)

        • Novel

I have one abandoned railway in mind ... It could be done.

      • Arkady Shapoval

This is the new DF / DA line, it should be good. Their 50 1.8 DA under Sony left only positive impressions

      • B. R. P.

The price tag is compared with analogs for DSLRs from the same Yong. Special items? Super China Nano, I guess.

        • Victor

No, not China nano, only what the manufacturer claims - one aspheric, one low-dispersion element, and two with a high refractive index. The 35/2 mirror simply has none of this.

      • Vsevolod

CY has not only darker by the stop, but also lighter) At the same time, there is no doubt about the quality of their last AF lenses. Only the first two - 35 1.4 and 50 1.4 were with problems, and even then, I use 50 1.4 and I don't see half of the problems described in reviews / forums.

        • Victor

Exactly, there is, missed) But also huge, like Sigma, again, the cost.

          • Arkady Shapoval

Sigma 35 / 1.4 for Sony E is many times more expensive and many times more. At least due to the fact that under the Sony E Sigma 35 / 1.4 has an elongated rear part, as it is originally a mirror lens. The same goes for weight.

  • Rodion

Judging by the diagram, the Chinese have learned to use the conditional zemax)

    • Novel

Wang bed sheet from local cinephiles.

Dear Rodion, let me write a few thoughts on this matter. The Chinese are no different from other peoples. The laws of production have not been canceled either. When 50-70 years ago the Japanese began to mass-produce lenses and made them cheaper, all of Europe laughed at them, the Japanese copied everything that could be copied (just for some reason everyone shouts about Soviet copies, when there were more than 200 copies of Lake itself in Japan!) who were not too lazy in Japan, everyone produced photographic equipment and, especially, Yu lenses, the quality of their optics was far below the German ones, but they started and improved as best they could, in the end everything moved to Japan. In short, the same process is happening now towards China. Moreover, regardless of who manufactures optics, in 90% of cases they use glasses from Chinese manufacturers. If we now have professional tamrons for a reasonable price, if the world now sees many special elements in the lenses of all manufacturers, then this is the merit of China, since in China over the past 15 years a huge amount of investment has been made in this industry, as well as in personnel training. As for optical circuits, some Chinese companies have long been working German opticians, or highly qualified optical physicists from other countries, including Japan, also have their own personnel, do not forget that China is among the three leading countries in the world in terms of mathematics development and physics. Lenses from Laowa are essentially German lenses, manufactured to the highest German standards with new optical designs calculated by high-class optics using Chinese supercomputers. In addition, Chinese manufacturers, with a few exceptions, are not very greedy, and the quality is constantly improving. The peculiarities of production in all areas are such that in order to achieve very high standards, it is usually required to produce at least 3-4 generations of goods, gain experience, correct most of the mistakes, etc. Chinese companies have been doing this for 10-12 years, and that's exactly what we see now the results of the last 10-12 years, when they actually started producing lenses. Recently, Christopher Frost himself was forced to conclude that Viltrox 23 / 1.4 is essentially superior to its native Fuji counterpart in literally all parameters, including the quality of the drawing. Earlier, Ken Wheeler said the same about their other lens. Sony and Fuji mirrorless cameras have given Chinese manufacturers the ability to produce excellent autofocus lenses, fortunately, China has recently begun manufacturing step-less lens motors. This process will continue and we will see new and very high quality lenses from Chinese manufacturers, including excellent and even superior optical quality. The bad news is that while consumers have a rather prejudiced attitude towards it - even without trying it with their own hands, they immediately do not like their drawing. Interestingly, are lenses from Japanese manufacturers all right here equal to Zeiss? A good optical design is a great success for any manufacturer and no more than 10-15 percent of any brand line are such. And yet - few people know that about 62% of components for all mobile phones in the world are produced by one single Chinese company - ZTE, and even fewer people know that more than 60% of components for lenses in the world are produced by only a few Chinese companies, and YN For several years now, it has been exporting a huge number of various components to Japan, but for some reason all their products are sealed with a secret stamp, they are not even opened at customs. I wonder what they export to Japan and why Japanese buyers are urging to classify the names of exported goods? This story does not remind you of the one that many years ago with Apple - when they carefully concealed the company that actually made their laptops and even sued the journalist who first wrote what this subsidiary of Quanta is doing in Shenzhen (by the way it also produces more than 80% of all laptops from any manufacturer!) ... Over the past 15 years, Germany, Switzerland and Italy have shown a steady export of high-quality machine tools and other production equipment, only now they did not particularly advertise that most or even 90% it was China that bought it to re-equip its factories, and it was bought by private and state Chinese companies. Japanese technology too. Now this stage has been passed - China is a country of super factories, with skilled workers.

      • Rodion

And what is this sheet for, in fact?

        • Novel

          I warned you. China trigger.

          • Rodion

Well, yes, you can also add about rhinestone)

            • Novel

And zone focusing by the Chinese!

  • Arkady Shapoval

The lens has arrived for review. The review will be in a few weeks. The first impression is compact and sharp at 2.0.
