  • Nemo

Yes, more like a D750 screen.
    But it’s for the better.
Still, tsifiri on the screen D7100 small. Inconveniently.

  • Stubborn

Mdaaaa ... Judging by the "development" of the D7xxx and D7xx line, it became clear that there would be no upgrade to the already cool D300s. The only way to express this situation is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4PzQdOCQUw0

  • Vladimir

Well, in my opinion, the D300s is already quite far behind the 7xxx series.

  • Stubborn

Vladimir, you didn’t understand a bit, I would like the D7xxx line, but she would have a case from D300s and megapixels in the region of 16, and with a new processor and buffer, there would be a machine gun for reporting in the hinterlands where photographers don’t have the money for expensive D4 , D4s, and it’s already impossible to buy D700 and D300s in normal condition. And I think not only me, but many would also wish for such a D7xxx in the D300s package with 16 megapixels on board and an endless serial shooting buffer at a speed of 7 frames per second. Or put the D750 case at least on the D700 and there would be fans again, and I think no one would give up the D610 in the D700 case.

    • Roman Vlach

I fully support you. I would also love to see a worthy heir to the D300s, but Nikon unfortunately set several other priorities. And maybe fortunately. He and his bell tower may know better, but the fact remains. Someone tries on the D610 and D800 and in the end selects the Sony A7. Someone tries on the D7100 and 70D and eventually takes the Sony A6000.

    • Victor

I won’t say anything about megapixels, but I can’t understand about the case. Why is he so attractive? An extra centimeter in size or an extra 170 grams? Or a magnesium alloy on all sides to drop and hit something in a day? For a second, he put himself in the place of the designer. There is a task to reduce weight and reduce costs. How to solve the problem without compromising security? 1. Determine the least vulnerable areas from which metal can be removed. 2. Choose the most impact resistant material for these areas. I think that Nikon designers will be smarter than me and at least these two points have been taken into account. And another approach is possible. On the contrary, having determined that the lens most often hits, reduce the strength of the front panel. Now when you hit it, not the lens to smithereens (some glasses will be more expensive than the camera), but only the front panel of the camera.

      • Alexey

The one-piece housing has advantages not only in impact resistance. But also vibration absorption (there are enough of them on the DSLR), Less problems with basing the main modules, dust-moisture-light protection is much easier to organize. Not because of the shock resistance they began to make all-alloy bodies.

      • Peter Sh.

The camera is always securely tied to itself. If he crashes on the asphalt, then only with the photographer.))

The main problem is the constant banging on everything that is nearby when it hangs from the side. For this, a magnesium alloy for the case is needed.

        • Vladimir

Try not to get drunk before shooting, and the camera will not knock on anything, I assure you …… ..And also, old man Hottabych made a WHOLE watch,… .. from GOLD and with other prof. characteristics for the price of a pack of ice cream. Haha.

    • Anatoly

So you have exactly the same
D7200 in crop mode 1.3 just gets 7 shots per second with a resolution of 16 megapixels

  • Stubborn

It's just that Nikon has such a situation now that there is no mid-priced (D700, D300s) professional reporting apparatus. If you are filming a report and you want equipment that is not killed in a cast-iron case, either pay denyuzhki and take D4s or go to another system with the forest. And I think this situation upsets many Nikon photographers. After all, a conveniently sitting camera in your hand, with amazingly thoughtful controls (D300s, D700) replaces any megapixels, buffers, ISO, and more. And when you hold something flimsy in your hands, and think not about composition, but about how not to hook the device and break it, and even you can’t change all settings when looking through the viewfinder (in D7100, for example, the metering view does not display the metering view , and when you switch the exposure metering method without looking up from the viewfinder, you don’t see which metering method you chose), this is very annoying and distracting from shooting in general. In general, both the D7xxx and the D300s D700 have their advantages, but it’s annoying that Nikon does not want to combine all these advantages together and do not even create a competently balanced device, ala D700 body, Nikon Df matrix, autofocus 51 point from edge to edge, rate of 7 frames per second. After all, it’s so simple, just insert parts from different models into one case. You don’t even have to develop anything. And sales of such a model would be frantic.

    • zengarden

Then they would stop buying other models.
It used to be [the Japanese] who tried to do the most high-quality things, but now the approach is different - you need to buy more and more often, therefore you cannot immediately put the perfect option on the market.
      Nothing personal, just business :)

      • Stubborn

And the most offensive zengarden is that you are right, if you think logically, then nothing prevents you from releasing such a camera tomorrow, but this does not happen, which means they do, and will do things in which there is at least one fly in the ointment, as you said, nothing personal , just business ...

        • Novel

I believe more and more that D700 has seriously undermined D3 sales. The D700 with a batblock and an EN-EL4a battery was no worse than its older sister. Now Nikon does not step on this rake. The D300s is most likely something similar.

  • anonym

Here's to my son what you would advise for filming from Nikon, well, not the worst thing, but to shoot weddings and reportage, and sports…. I have been shooting for over 20 years (now on Nikon), but young people don't believe in my “film beliefs” now ... :)

    • Vadim

If money is running out then D5100. Well, then ... you can afford it. Only, in my opinion, there is no point in overpaying for the newest models. The increase in new opportunities is by no means commensurate with the horse prices that are demanded for them. And in general, I would not really bother with the choice of a carcass, but would look towards the standing high-aperture zooms, namely zooms. Fix - for the soul (and indulge), but for what you have listed - zoom!

      • anonym

High-power zooms for D7XXX can be taken without a motor (since there is a screwdriver in the camera), and for D5XXX - an overpayment for a motor. So you have to be content with 3.5, which is not high aperture.
It’s better to spend money on a camera once having overpaid the price of one zoom, than to lose at each zoom either in aperture or in price.

    • Yarkiya

Well, what did this 7200 not please you with? The resolution is excellent, the rate of fire is normal, the buffer is already quite sane, if a year ago, when I took 7100, if this were, I would definitely take it.

      • Photographer

        100% similar

      • Photographer

Fire chamber as 7100 and 7200

      • Victor

Zhenya, why? You mainly perform in “macro” (and in my opinion, very worthy) and in portraits. So why buffer and rate of fire? In stock? :)

    • Lynx

      D610 or D750.

      • Vlad

        D750 definitely

        • Lynx

considering the price - debatable, especially as the first camera

          • Victor

Taking into account the "first camera", both options are not suitable (I'm talking about 610 and 750). Even trying to figure out the capabilities of these cameras and the controls can scare a beginner away. 5100 is the best option. Outgrow the capabilities of this camera - it will take more than one year.

            • Anatoly

What is the difference in the control of these cameras and any of the D7xxx line?

        • Vadim

No, well, D4s is even cooler! The man asked what to recommend to his son, as I understand it, as the first SLR. And do you really think it's worth starting with the D750? It seems to me that for the beginning and formation of oneself as a photographer, it is the D5100 that is ideal for reasonable money. Now, if a person outgrows the capabilities of this apparatus, then it is already possible to understand what you need. But it's not a fact that it will outgrow, and then everything that is higher is in vain money. After all, the buttons "shYdevr" were not invented in D4S either. Well, if you have money, Hassel and Leica are not the limit ...
Regarding the D7200, whoever says anything - the device is definitely good (and D610,750, 810 ...), but the prices are 100% bad ...

          • Igor

Or maybe consider the D7000, even used. A good viewfinder will also please an aspiring amateur photographer.

            • Vadim

              It is also an option.

    • Roman Vlach

The D5100 is a great camera for a beginner. In 2012, it was not just that TIPA recognized the best entry-level DSLR.
If something is more serious then the D7000 with the same matrix. All that later is certainly cool, but not as much as they cost.

      • Vadim

Here I am about the same!

    • Pashqwert

for a beginner, it doesn’t matter much what is bought at the first stage, anyway, you will have to go through the thorny path of trial and error until you have your own work style and specific requirements. Therefore, it makes no sense to look at new and expensive equipment now, and then it will not matter what to photograph or how much it costs (well, how things go). You can take the announced price of the new D7200 D700 with low mileage. Or a bunch of D50 + D7000 equipped with a fixed zoom, the first for portraits, the second for intermediate wedding locations. There are many options, the main thing is not to push all the money into the camera, without optics, light and an assistant, the result will be like a digital dust bin.

    • Peter Sh.

Since you write about weddings and sports, don’t spoil your child’s life and take Canon Rebel XTi for $ 100, plus fifty dollars for it for the same amount.
With a fix, he quickly learns to think in terms of composition. With a zoom, it will take much more time.
If you want him to become a photographer, send him to the courses in fine art for the money saved.

As a pioneer, I studied in the Soviet pipe musician. First, they gave me a mouthpiece, and after six months of training, the pipe itself.
      Something like that.

      • Yarkiya

Apparently you poured water into the pool after you learned to dive)). a joke, if that.

      • anonym

Many human thanks to everyone for the modern advice on choosing a camera and shooting! :)

    • Bob

      D2Xs buy to your son!

  • Rope

I have been watching Nikon's new products for three years. Nothing revolutionary. We covered a couple of buns that have nothing to do with the photo. Called a new model. We put a new price tag. We have to agree that things are bad for them. And most likely Nikon is waiting to take into account such legendary brands that have sunk into oblivion - nokia, motorola, kodak.

    • Andrei

I agree. And some parameters even worsen .. Somewhere something will cut a little save. There are no new revolutionary models.

  • Sergei

Well, if you consider that most people buy DSLRs have a very distant idea of photography and take them “so as not to be worse than others” and “because a DSLR is cool”, then Nikon is unlikely to be ruined. The professional sector, although expensive, but the main profit for companies is brought by cheap hot goods. Since cheap digital shops are squeezing mobile phones, it is possible that photo giants will go into other areas of activity.

  • anonym

You have already gotten all the clever guys waiting for something revolutionary in camera construction. What the hell do you want, her God. Great cameras in any segment, but it's not so for you. If you can't shoot something worthwhile with these cameras, then it's a penny Understand that this is not yours, therefore. It’s disgusting to hear that the button is not programmed that way, but there are few focus points, and the rate of fire is 1 position less than you need. You are ridiculous in these groaning and pitiful. .RU are included in the “Golden Hundred” with superzoom and simple DSLRs, because they shoot, grow in this business, and do not whine in anticipation of the camera, which for them, defective, will do something.

    • anonym

      Exactly!

  • anonym

I agree, it’s impossible to please these * photographers *! It’s either not so, then it’s now, then the shirt is long, then x .. short, in a word there is trouble around!)))
Well, seriously, the D7100 is an excellent camera for its money, I think the D7200 will be no worse.

    • Igor

+10000. There was a time. I was 16 years old. Filmed several weddings. Carcass Zenith ET. Lenses ... Arkady has a good overview of them for those times. The film "svema", "tasma" bw, a little bit of experience and nowhere to take. Every frame, stop everyone and put it beautifully, shutter speed, aperture, sharpness, move away, approach, exposure meter, do not forget to close the aperture !!!! (g 44-2). The flash from the mains worked - 1 frame and to the outlet, bang and the end of the film, etc. Then he gave it up. Sechas now I'm getting close to 50, sometimes I remember a forgotten thing and I want to say the d7100 is excellent and the d7200 will be good and the Canon 70d is simply amazing. And lenses are just a fairy tale for all occasions in this life. Take it, shoot and there will be a result. If you don't like the result, here's a Photoshop! Expensive? Zenith cost 100 rubles too. The point is the choice and it must be done !!!

    • anonym

      offset!

  • Vladus

I also found another film, it really needed to be sweated there to get a decent shot, and then what?, Slap and rejoice)), especially on the D7100, I’ve been shooting it for over a year now, it’s a great camera, just a fairy tale!
I read it here, compared the characteristics of the D7200 and 7100, I personally don’t need those announced bells and whistles, who needs to pay extra $ 300, but it’s unlikely that the picture will get better.

  • R'RёS,R ° F "RёR№

do not forget about the speed of synchronization with an external flash, do not need 5xxx

    • Vadim

And what is it different from 5XXX? 1/200 vs 1/250? And does this change something significantly? I think a beginner photographer will have a long time to grow to catch the difference. Here the command mode of the built-in flash is much more interesting, but here the question is - will there be something to command? The high-speed sync mode is also of course a useful thing, but again the question arises of the cost of a suitable flash and the entire kit. So your “don’t need 5xxx” is very simply refuted by the calculator;)

  • Alexey

The camera is interesting, everything will depend on the price.
    And again, a remark.
    I have D7000 and D750, I can compare them.
If I decided to change, say D7000 to D7200, I would think very much.
24 fresh megapixels and Wi-Fi, not the most important thing.
I do not think that the baggage of the best crop lenses will somehow play in a new way on this camera.
    Not sure.
Buy her new? Again, you need good lenses. Type of native 17-55 2.8, tokens 11-16, etc.
They are very expensive these days.
Although it looks similar to the D750, the case is probably the same, but it was deprived of a very convenient thing, a folding screen.
    I don’t know, I wouldn’t buy it.

  • Yarkiya

I recently read that if you scale a 24 megapixel DX matrix to the full-frame size, while maintaining the density and size of the pixels, you get a 54 megapixel ff matrix. I decided to develop this idea and draw an analogy with other sensors and cameras, so:
Nikon d4 16MP FX - 7MP DX, (don't find fault with tenths, let's round up to integers, the picture as a whole is interesting, little things are not essential)
    Nikon d610 24MP FX - 10MP DX
    Nikon d800 36MP FX - 16MP DX
That is, Canon with its 56 megapixel camera did not revolutionize the camera industry, but only caught up with 7100 - 7200 in detail. Logically, it remains to wait for a response from Nikon with some 60 megapixel on a full frame.

    • Bob

And wait, but probably in the medium format. D10!

      • Pashqwert

By the way, an interesting thought about the prospects for the medium format. I think there will most likely be something from Sony, based on a mirrorless, with a relatively low multipixel to start with. The mirror is no longer fashionable, from amateur cropped carcasses they want the functionality of the pros, and the "full frame" turns into consumer goods. Therefore, there will be no continuation of either D300s or D700 in the expected presentation, marketing niches have shifted.

  • Sergei

What do you think? - is it worth it to wait for the D7200 to drop in price with the release of the D7100.
It is expected that the D7200 will cost in the region of more than 70 thousand rubles. then, in general, a different range seems to me that in the coming year, there will be no reduction in prices for older equipment and it does not make sense to wait.

    • Alexander Malyaev

The new Nikon D7100 on Ebay is the cheapest $ 756. In the shops of the CIS countries you can find cheaper, maybe there were some stocks that are now slowly selling at a compromise price. In dollars, the Nikon D7100 can and will decline little by little, but in rubles and hryvnias it is unlikely for now.

    • Anatoly

The funniest thing is that even now in 2018, the prices for the D7100 have not decreased so much
In general, exactly the same as on the D7200
And in some stores, where by chance you can find on sale, I met even D7100 more expensive than D7200

  • Ivan Sergeevich

I am surprised by people who talk about rate of fire
Excuse me, are you one and all sports photographers here?
So I’m an aviation photographer and keep quiet because I don’t need such speed just, but sorry planes fly faster than any football player or Ferrari. By and large, you need a low-noise matrix and a good autofocus module.
For six months now since the release of the D750, I can’t choose what to take - 7100,610 or 750. And now, in general, xs. But I don’t choose a camera by rate of fire. Never. Because I have a SONY NEX-5 with 10 frames per second and you all can smoke bamboo in the cold front door with your dense nikonas

    • Yarkiya

I like airplanes and in general, everything that flies, especially a small 1-4 local one. Can I see your pictures somehow?

      • Ivan Sergeevich

        for God's sake
        http://www.airliners.net and my nickname ivandalavia
this can be said the site of the Best Aviation Photography of the World with screening and a queue in it from a week to 12 days

    • Dima Vrachinsky

Do you shoot planes? Or model aircraft? In my humble experience, shooting planes is not that difficult, their relative speed is low. Football is much more dynamic

      • Ivan Sergeevich

        No, it’s airplanes
Well, I don’t argue about football, just imagine, I’m sitting in a cockpit of a Boeing that flies at a speed of 850 km / h and a similar Boeing flies towards it. And you have to manage to catch it in focus while it flies over or over you
here is just one example of such rare luck.
        http://www.airliners.net/photo/Aeroflot—Russian/Boeing-767-36N-ER/2238180/L/

    • Victor

I read the text. I looked at the top photographs (the technical performance is at a high level, but I saw artistic value in only a few). And I didn't understand. Why talk about the rate of fire of cameras? And what difference does it make how fast the planes fly? Almost all photos at the airfield are static. And those that are in flight ... Exposure at 1/8000, aperture at 1/16, depth of field to infinity and do not care about the rate of fire :) Or was I mistaken in something?

      • Ivan Sergeevich

That site does not provide artistic values, and to my great regret. Their team of screeners have a lot of reasons for refusing to upload a photo to the site's database, and one of them, the most disgusting for me, is called "MOTIVE" - just denying artistic value , applicable in this case to aerial photography)))))))))

      • Ivan Sergeevich

we are talking about photographing from the cockpit in flight of other aircraft

  • Dima Vrachinsky

If from the cockpit, then yes. I thought from the ground. It's much easier there

Strange comments. “When the camera grows back”. Just a stamp. Why take castrated D5XXX at once? In order to find out in a month that it is inconvenient, that due to the lack of a front ring, it is necessary to constantly climb in the menu? We must take the best available for the money. Finally. you don't need a higher technical education to master the camera.
I was the first D90. The camera is not bad, but I had to immediately take 7000.
11 focus points - nowhere. 1/4000 - into the firebox (in the absence of a gray filter).
Well, plus the internal adjustment has not bothered anyone.
Why take it in order to understand in a couple of months that you have camera capabilities?

  • YOU

    Tell those who know, pliz!
Does it make sense to take the FF apparatus, I understand that this is cool, etc., but what will I gain if I have all DX lenses? Or it’s better to take 7200 and be happy!

    • anonym

Better on a DX carcass to take good FX optics

    • Lynx

      depends on tasks.

    • Vladimir

Take 7200 and be very happy. With skillful exposure of the frame and competent processing of the RAW file, it is quite pleasing at ISO even 6400, not to mention its excellent autofocus, exposure metering, and dynamic range. I just did it today. By the way, the raves from it open in Lightroom 6, which made me very happy .... No, well, if there is a lot of money, why not buy FF ??? For me personally and for professional work, the 7100 is enough, quite (with good optics). The 17-50 / 2.8, 50-150 / 2.8, and 18-35 sigma matrix pulls very well. Nikon's 35 / 1.8g crop is also quite good.

Hello! Save, I can not decide ((
I had a nikon d3100, studied on it, stuffed my hand. I really want to shoot weddings, the question is in the choice of technology. I set my eyes on Nikon D7200 kit 18-140mm VR. Is it worth taking for such purposes? maybe it's better to take the carcass and optics for it? only this one ... for the early grateful
