Good afternoon . I stood in front of a stone with the inscription + I will go to the left - I will find Tamron, to the right I will go - I will stumble upon Sigima, and I will go straight - Nikon. Where to go? That is the question .
    PS Snarls 70-200 2.8
    Thank you in advance )))

    • lech

Weird question. If you want to save money and have zomorochki, Tamron and Sigma will help you. If you concentrate on getting good pictures, probably Nikon.

      • anonym

        Got it - it's loaded))

  • Natalia

Hello. Please help with the choice ..
I used to shoot on Nikon D3100, in automatic mode ... I didn’t really want to go deep ... I said goodbye to him more than a year ago ..
Now, I still want to look deep into and figure out ...
To start, I choose among several budget options:
    1. Nikon D5100 + 18-105
    2. Nikon D3200 + 18-105
    3. Kenon 600D + 18-135 or 18-200
First of all, you need a camera to learn and understand the basics ... I want to shoot nature and fauna .. Night city ... I really like macro photography .. and my beloved little son .. I also want to get to Shutterstock and other photo banks ...
Please just don’t laugh with me ... I just often read that you cannot give an exact answer, because Do not understand the needs of those asking for advice in choosing a camera ..
    Thanks in advance

    • Valery A.

Good evening. Probably the 1st option is most suitable for your purposes.

      • Natalia

Thank you, I also tend to the first option more.

    • Basil

I read it without going too deeply. But, "thanks in advance", obliged to look into the depths and understand the nature of what was said. The usual female maximalism can be traced in what was written: I got married - the machine does not work; inept manual settings did not bring the desired result - I got divorced, and since I want to take pictures - pick up the groom, and the requirements for the groom are, just really.
One piece of advice - only love will save photography ... from female practical maximalism.

      • lech

        Are you stuffing in grooms?

        • Basil

Eh, Lech ... I'm talking about photography, but you want to get drunk at the wedding. It would be better if I helped a woman and threw off the address of a second-hand bookstore.

      • Alexey

Here, too, I do not digest "Thanks in advance", ie. you are simply obliged to help, and when they help you do not thank, you are already “in advance”.

        • Stivgi

About nothing! The person thanked - there is nothing to find fault with

          • Alexey

You are a happy person, because you do not see manipulation in this phrase clothed in the form of politeness, that is, hypocrisy. It is better not to use such a turn of speech if you do not want a negative attitude in advance. Thank you on time and to the place, not “in advance”.

          • Natalia

Thank you sincerely !!! People do not understand basic politeness ..

        • Natalia

How difficult it is for you to live with such troubles ..
You know, it would be smarter just to flip through my question and move on ..

      • Natalia

        I caught your metaphor ...)))
You know, I certainly understand that you can laugh at newbies ... and so on .. But after writing this question ... I just got desperate with the choice ... my head swells.
I don’t understand why I caused so many negative reactions to my “thanks in advance” ... probably people in principle have forgotten about elementary politeness, but it is not for me to judge them.

        • Alexey

There was no desire to offend you or laugh. I just do not advise using such a phrase, for the reason indicated above, it does not look like gratitude. As for the choice - Valery A gave you good advice, listen. And people have not forgotten about politeness, and they understand it, and no, it would not be smarter.

          • Natalia

Thank you, then we drove)) I'm not such a frequent "forum user", this is basically the first forum where I asked a question of interest to me, usually I just read, so thanks for the advice.
At the expense of the camera, I'm already looking for a D5100 or D5200. At the price of BU they are little different.

    • Stivgi

Natalia, good evening. If it's hard to master manual control in digital SLR cameras, look towards digital mirrorless cameras - it's much easier to master there, the photo quality is the same. I myself once chose nikon d7200, but when I came to the store to feel it, it turned out that it is huge with 18-140 optics and it would be too lazy to carry it every day. Over time, I took a Sony A6000 with a whale, later I bought a fix 50mm 1,8. As a result, I am very satisfied, compact, photos are the same (the matrix is the same in size, light sensitivity, shutter speed, aperture are the same)

      • Natalia

Thanks for the answer. It’s not hard for me to master .. now I’m reading a theory .. everything is clear .. I just can’t decide on a camera.
3200 there is no rotary display, but I will shoot videos, with a rotary it seems to me more convenient ..
5100 is still leaning toward him more.
Kenon really wanted .. I had a PowerShot Kenon .. I liked both the picture and the menu .. But I read that he does not focus automatically in video mode.
The budget is limited ... therefore such models are available to choose from ..

    • Pokemon

Undermine $ 200-250 (do not go to a cafe several times or save on something useless or limit yourself to expensive food) and in a month already buy something more suitable and worthy like 60D + Sigma 24-70 / 2.8 EX DG Macro or D7000 with the same lens.

      • Natalia

        You know, I listened. I buy such a complete set for a start .. Nikon D7000 (all original kit) + Nikon AF-S 50mm f / 1.8G + Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 18-105mm f / 3.5 + Nikon Speedlight SB-700 + tripod Velbon EX-430 + Case Logic SLRC202 Black camera bag + MLL3 remote control, sample 12000.
I think for the first time (so 2 years) for development it will completely work. And we'll see.
        Thank you.

      • Natalia

Sigma 24-70 is expensive. I decided that after 18-55, 18-105 would be fine for me. And there, over time, I think I will feel what I am missing ...

What a wonderful typo! Almost a diagnosis. I suggest leaving her.

Good day! Firstly, thanks for the efforts that were invested to create such a beautiful site. Found a lot of useful information for myself! On the site in any review you can see links to a resource that compares prices in online stores. Let it be http://www.e-katalog.ru

For example, if you look at the offers on the Nikon 24-120mm f / 4G ED VR AF-S NIKKOR lens (link http://www.e-katalog.ru/prices/nikon-24-120mm-f-4g-ed-vr-af-s-nikkor/), it becomes clear that all the cheapest prices rise from approximately the same place, i.e. from Prospect Mira - absolutely all the so-called “online stores” with their crooked sites are located at this address. Moreover, self-pickup is either by agreement, or is absent as such. What does this mean? This suggests that there simply is not, and the address is fake. Well, and, in fact, the question: did anyone buy anything in these online stores? What do they trade in general?

    • lech

Everyone has known this for a long time. Four out of five of these stores are wired in the best traditions of the distinguished Mr. Ostap Bender.

      • lech

They don’t seem to throw at Alibaba.

    • Konstantin

And which online stores are normal in the sense of reliable? Paparazzi. I know. outlet, but what else? Just in the near future there will be a purchase. Who knows, share the information.

  • Novel

Hello everyone! Tell me what is better to take for nikon d7000? I choose between 35mm 1.8G and 50mm 1.8G. Fifty boke is more like https://onfotolife.com/lens_sample_photos?lens_id=518&language=ru&page=1&focal_min=0&focal_max=800&aperture_min=0&aperture_max=32 and 35mm is more versatile. So I am suffering with a choice.

    • lech

If for portraits, 50mm is preferable.

    • NE

If for versatility, 35mm is preferable

      • Valery A.

If for versatility and full-length portraits, 35mm is the right thing. In addition, they can be removed in the room, with a 50-room one cannot turn around.

    • Alexey

For fifty dollars, for versatility and room, the full-time zoom is enough, and a good portrait portrait is necessary.

  • anonym

A few months ago I read on the internet that the owner of Radozhiva, Arkady, even being a top photographer, successfully removes commercial orders for his D90 and tamron 28-75. Is this true?

    • Vladimir

Read carefully the reviews of Arcadia. He himself writes that at some time he had to sell all the equipment, leaving d90 and tamron 28-75. The key word is at some time.

    • Vladimir

Is sigma 120-300 2.8 sport worth taking?

    • lech

If the weight does not bother, take it. According to reviews, it’s sharp and seems to fit in with the carcass without any problems.

      • anonym

        Thank you)

  • B. R. P.

Here, too, sigmo sport interests. How does autofocus work? No one used?

  • Margaret

Good day. Will the Canon Zoom Lens EF-S 55-250mm 1: 4-5.6 IS STM fit on a Nikon D3100 or 5300?

    • Arkady Shapoval

Not suitable. Take a look at any Nikon 55-200 VR.

      • Margaret

        Thanks for the quick response).
        Have a good day!

  • anonym

Dear Arkady! Is it true that you, even as a well-known photographer, successfully shoot weddings on D90 and 28-75 tamrons?

    • Peter Sh.

Now let's listen to the head of the transport department.

    • Basil

There was such a moment when he bought a canon 450d and shot something there (I don’t know what). Then he says customers do not see the difference between crop full frame. If it is not Arkady, then correct me.

      • Arkady Shapoval

This is not me 100%. At 450d, I didn’t shoot anything commercially, only reviews for myself

        • Basil

So, I didn’t understand something :), now I will know.

  • anonym

Good day. I’m quite tired of thinking about which lens to buy for taking events in an apartment on a crop camera: 35 1,8 or 24 1,8, the price is not critical. Have a Nikon D7000, 18-105 and two SB-700 flashes?

    • Nemo

Expose 24 and 35 mm on the existing lens and see what will be more convenient for you. With a high degree of probability you will see that neither one nor the other focal in the apartment is suitable for you. Need something shorter.

    • lech

A man of a mental mindset. There is no time to squander practice!

  • Julia

Good afternoon, please help with advice. There is a Nikon d3100 + Nikon 35mm1.8, and the ability to slightly update the technique. Either buy a used Nikon 17-55mm2.8 lens, or buy a new Nikon d7200 carcass.

    • Basil

I think it’s better to buy 17-55. Although the bundle of D7200 + 35 1.8 is also normal. But it’s better to save up and buy 14-24 2.8 or 16-35 4.0 for growth. They will work perfectly with the D3100. And the quality will be completely different.
      PS I will pack myself 14-24 on d 5100

    • anonym

      17-55

    • Oleg

Julia, first of all you need to give yourself a honest answer to the question why do you need it? What is lacking in the existing bundle? What do you want to get from a future acquisition? Or is it a purchase for the sake of buying?

      • Julia

I want better focus, ISO is higher than the worker, the picture is more voluminous. All better)) so I’m thinking where to start. Thanks to everyone for the advice)))

        • Alexey

With the replacement of the camera, and optionally at 7200, it is possible and easier.

          • Valery A.

Another crop matrix will give a more voluminous picture? Take d7000 (after 3100 there will be a breakthrough) and the light zoom is cheaper, tamron 17-50, for example.

        • Michael

Well, so that Oleg does not get bored, we advise a full frame))) Just everything and better, except for focusing

          • Oleg

And in order not to lower the degree of marasmus, we will advise you to purchase Canon EOS 1Dx Mark II at once ...

    • Basil

I am for 17-55mm. 35mm. I am in the room "clamped" and do not give any maneuver. In nature, I want to breathe wide, spreading my arms wide, but these notorious 35mm. reminiscent of themselves, cutting the angle of view. I can say that for me 17-55mm. is a versatile lens with excellent frame quality. 35mm. where it will overshoot 17-55mm, but I'm lazy and changing lenses is a burden for me, which means 17-55mm. determined by my staff, which I will never take off, since I am satisfied with the constant aperture, focal, fast focusing and much more pleasant in this lens. Having this lens, and understanding what I can and what I want in photography, the thought matures , - and not whether to give me what lies on the shelf as a dead weight. And what I am running around the apartment with like a cat with bacon. I hope, Julia, my confession will help you draw the right conclusion - just do not buy, please, " cheaper Tamron. ”

      • Alexey

And how will 17-55 / 2.8 provide better focus, a greater value of the working ISO, a more voluminous picture, compared to 35 / 1.8?

        • Basil

Did I say something about better focusing? Did I give a hint about a higher ISO value? Did I hint somewhere about a more three-dimensional picture? I did not compare these lenses at all, but said my opinion about 17-55mm. And if you read my post carefully, then “35mm. somewhere it will jump 17-55mm ”.
Conclusion: it's time to change the diopter.

          • Alexey

How do you see? Julia clearly outlined her needs. Or are you only interested in your “confession”, and are you answering yourself? But you are giving advice to Julia.

            • Valery A.

… ”Just don't buy, please,“ a cheaper Tamron. ”” Well, did you use it and throw it away indignantly? As far as I can remember (in the sense of being interested in photographic equipment), I hear all the time: Nikon 17-55 is good (beautiful), but its price is very high. For its price, you can take d7000 + the same tamron 17-50 and still have money left. If there is nowhere to put pennies ... Besides, without a stub and heavy, it will be 3100 out of hand.

              • Oleg

Meanwhile, they forgot and thought about Julia's top-starter.
One full-frame shirikov advised, the second ancient heavy shit-mind soars ... It's amazing how she was not poured into her ears about the charm of a full frame

              • Basil

I often read here: “that tsezh is still pennies.” Panova, love yourself in photography, not your pennies, which are always in short supply.

              • Valery A.

As Filippov said to Zaichik - love art in yourself, not yourself in art.

Hello! Help me choose a camera and lens.
The scope of use is mainly travel, trekking, climbing. Those. mountains, landscapes, portraits, work with clients, snow, heat, frost, etc. Plus, Full HD video shooting with the ability to connect an external microphone. It is not possible to carry a lot of equipment with you, in the mountains every gram counts, plus you have to work with clients. Therefore, I do not take a large video camera on trips. It is necessary to assemble a kit for photo and video filming. The scope of use can be seen in these albums https://www.facebook.com/vitaliy.fedorenko.3/media_set?set=a.2495094950530635&type=3 https://www.facebook.com/pg/GreyWolfExpedition/photos/?tab=album&album_id=2201254933430452 This is a shot of a Nikon D90 with a Tamron lens. I understand that it is necessary to improve the technique. Although I’m used to working with Nikon, I can switch to another one for a better result. Thanks in advance for the advice.

      Have you thought about GoPro?

      • R'RёS,R ° F "RёR№

As an operator, I worked with GoPro for a while. It saves only in some extreme situations, like a second camera. The rest is not worth relying on.

Yes, you are mistaken. I described the occupation and wishes. I have already tried something. I understand that almost no one is engaged in such, and there is no time to experiment for years. Therefore, he asked, maybe knowledgeable people even indicate the direction, and then he himself.

Hello. I wanted to buy a portrait portrait with my A7-3, I stopped at Samyang 85mm 1.4.
I found a good bu copy, but it is from Canon. How much will I lose by buying it and simply hooking it on the camera through an inexpensive Chinese adapter?
Or the purchase of this glass under the native SonyE bayonet mount does not give any special advantages?
    Thank you in advance.

    • Basil

Firstly, there are different quality adapters, on which there will be a desire to buy adhesive tape and glue) so that it would hold better
Secondly, the adapter extends the already large lens.
Personally, I bought Sony for the purpose of convenience and small size and all sorts of adapters (3cm. Thick) somehow enrage. I would use E mount for convenience

  • Oleg

good afternoon! I ask for advice from people who have used Canon 600D / Canon 40D. I'm an amateur, I shoot exclusively for myself + put something in and-no, I used to use 40D, I liked the ease of use, rate of fire and picture quality (Sigma 17-50 2/8 and Arsat 50 mm lenses), the camera drowned, I decided to take it / y 600D (mileage 17 thousand). I was unpleasantly surprised by the noise level even at ISO 100-200, it seems that the “forty” gave a much better picture. Have you come across something similar, perhaps I just have a bad 600D? does it make sense to reverse downgrade to 40D? On the one hand, I don’t want to part with a swivel screen, the ability to shoot at high ISO (at least to shoot something in poor conditions), on the other hand, subjectively, the picture seemed better from an older device. I would like to hear your opinion / advice.
Special thanks to Arkady for a wonderful site that opened up for me the wonderful world of photography.

    • Andrey T.

Everything is as it should be. 40D - one of the best Canon crop; I shot it for a long time. The 600D is one of the most problematic, to put it mildly.

  • Vladimir.

Good afternoon. I was on fire to buy a film Nikon F5, but I got lost in the frames to it, indices, compatibility, etc. I would like a reasonable educational program. In the photo for a long time - all the zeniths (I gravitate towards DSLRs). Digital full-frame Sony A-900.

    Sincerely, Vladimir.

  • Dmitriy

Good day. I have a question, I have a schneider kreuznach curtagon mf 60 / 3.5 lens. I just can't find normal information on it. Is the device worthwhile, how much can you help out for it and whether it is necessary ... I would be grateful for your help.

If the mount is Nikon, it will be.

Can someone tell about the sigma 12-24mm f4.5-5.6 dg hsm lens

  • Vladimir

Good day. I own Nikon 5200. Lenses 18-140 Nikon and 35 Fix 1/8 Nikon.
I want to go to the commerce. Passed two photo schools begin to shoot friends in the studios.
Plus I am fond of landscapes.

Tell me a kit for a novice photographer in commerce (I’m afraid I’m used, but I’ll listen to your options) and new ones.
    Filming:
    1 Wedding
    2 Studio
    3 Report
    4 landscape

The convenience of viewing photos on the phone is very nice.

The budget is very limited (I think I’ll sell my kit on Avito at a low price)

Stay on NIKON or go over KENON or Sony?

    • Vladimir

In terms of Nikon, I imagine what we need:
      1 Nikon 85mm f / 1.8G AF-S Nikkor
      2 Nikon 50mm f / 1.8G AF-S Nikkor
      3 Nikon 24-85mm f / 3.5-4.5G ED VR AF-S Nikkor
      or
      3 Nikon 24-70mm f / 2.8E ED VR AF-S Nikkor price horror

    • Vladimir

And on the carcass I am in doubt.
don’t know what to take. price quality. Not enough money)))

      • Basil

Son is dad, but what is it when you have money?
Father - oooh, son, when there is money - these are taxis, restaurants, beautiful women ...
Son is dad, but what is it when there is no money?
Father - nuuu, son, when there is no money - this is cinema, wine and our mother.

        • lech

A man’s loot ends, but you’re joking here!

          • Basil

I, like that here, mistakenly, as it turned out, gave a hint only about female maximalism. Alas. But, as I can observe, masculine maximalism is slowly spreading its metastases - and into the heads of some male representatives. A person's ablo is running out, and there is no limit to fantasies. I went through two photo schools, like two Otechestvennye. I killed the thresholds of many studios, where I mutilated all my friends by photographing, trod dozens of kilometers of new paths, photographing landscapes. And everything would be fine, but there is no dough. There is only one way out - commerce !!!
I tearfully look at some of the graduation photo albums of “photographers” who have believed in commerce, but I would like to see them in photography. That's it, Lech, and you're all joking.

            • Valery A.

Didn't you say earlier that you need to love yourself in photography and take Nikor 17-55? But teaching in schools and practicing in studios is not the way to normal photo albums?

              • Basil

I advised those who love pennies more than photography to love themselves in photography. I fell in love with photography when I had Smena-7, but the path to normal photo albums lies more in the head than in schools. And why kill time at school, where they don't give I don’t know whether they give me basic knowledge at all. But when I want to go into commerce ... And I’m not against commerce, but I feel sorry for Vladimir’s clients today. Maybe tomorrow everything will be fine ...

              • Valery A.

Sorry, not inserted there. "... the path to normal photo albums lies more in the head than in schools." - do you want to say that it is important to initially have an aesthetic vision and for it to intuitively select (discover) the tool and methods of translating it into photo masterpieces? I think there are not many such nuggets; there will not be enough for kindergarten schools. It is strange that you deny teaching as the transfer of knowledge and experience from the knowledgeable to the students. We read here with interest the educational and educational articles of Arkady, probably many would gladly learn from him in the lessons.

            • Vladimir

What are the metastases? What are you talking about?
Schools and master classes are always needed.
Only schools give little or no practice.
No one guarantees the result. They do not need him.
              No competitors needed.
And the school photos went en masse because it’s easier money

    • Igor

Well, firstly, you do not have much options. If it’s new, it’s either the D7500 or the D500, which is twice as expensive. Or Canon 7D Mark II. But it seems to me that you still do not really understand what exactly you are not comfortable with in the D5200, and simply strive to spend money on something, in the hope that it will greatly improve your photos. Therefore, you should think about the camera only after a real experience in filming, when you yourself will understand exactly what moments do not suit you. Especially considering that you are limited in budget. Better buy optics for this money.

Now about the optics: changing 18-140 to 24-85 is stupid and pointless. You gain nothing, just lose wide angle and long focus. 35 1.8 is just as stupid to merge, in fact, this is the most universal fix for crop, and in terms of picture quality it is not inferior to fifty and 85. 85 1.8 is not the most versatile glass. You must understand in advance in what situations you will use it, and know those in which you will not be able to use it.
The 24-70 2.8 is a professional fullframe zoom that doesn't have as wide an angle on the crop as intended. There is a full-fledged analog for the crop - 17-55 2.8. It is also expensive, but it will be much more useful. If you want cheaper, buy either 16-80 /2.8-4 or / 24-120 4. They are both more versatile. The first has the best focal range for the crop, the second is less wide, but longer and has a constant aperture, which is very convenient. Both are stabilized, unlike the 24-70 and 17-55, and both are in the 50K region.

Judging by the desired lenses, Vladimir is going for a full frame, and you are going to give him expensive crops (by the way, DX 35 / 1,8 is not bad on FF, with a small vignette). From the “cheap” full frame - 610-600 and 750 from the hands.

        • Igor

Only here is a full frame and "very limited on budget" - never compatible things. If you read further, you will see that at the moment I advised him not to change the carcass and explained the reasons.

          • Vladimir

            Thank you

        • Igor

Well, it's not really a "small vignette". Let's just say, usable, but only open. If you cover it, it is already quite pronounced with sharp boundaries without the possibility of any correction. Only DX crop mode. If you have a full frame and no money, it is better to buy a Yongnuo 35/2, or a used AF 35/2 D.

        • Vladimir

Yes, I would like to go to the full frame.

        • Vladimir

I’ll clarify. The desire to go to the full frame from az
1 Availability of a higher ISO
2 Stronger background blur and sharper subject
          3 Hope for faster autofocus

          BU scary to take.

Looked at 7500. It has both Wi-Fi and bluetooth. But he is a crop. carcass price of about 70 rubles.

          • Igor

One point: many fullframes are better at pulling high ISOs, that's a fact. But if you plan to blur the background, it means that you will use an open diaphragm, which means that you will rarely use high ISO in fact.

Blurring the depth of field and the sharpness itself does not depend on the size of the matrix, but only on the optics. Want more blur? Take a fast telephoto or portrait. Want more sharpness? Cover the diaphragm.

Autofocus speed in lenses with a built-in motor depends only on the lens itself. Any AF-S 70-200 2.8 will equally quickly focus both on the fullframe and on the cheapest crop. And some kind of fix like AF-S 85 1.8 will be equally slow on any camera.

  • lech

Something everyone is paranoid about "blurry background". I prefer the sharp on the contrary. The other day I turned the aperture up to 13, and with all this I achieved the desired sharpness.

    • Valery A.

Well, if the background is the Eiffel Tower, then you will want it more sharply, and if the ordinary urban “landscape” - blur it into trash.

      • Igor

Well, if everything is in focus, you will have to learn to photograph, build a composition, think. Not the point.

  • Vladimir

    Hello, tell me please.
I bought myself a Nikon D800, began to shoot them, but ran into a problem. All my lenses work well except one, on sigme 50 1.4 dg hsm autofocus does not work, the lens itself is working, on another Nikon d300 camera it works without problems.
    What could be?

    • Michael

Incompatibility, this happens with non-native lenses.

      • NE

Is the latest firmware in the camera? Roll back to the 2014 version. Or usb doc station and updating the lens firmware version.

  • Valery A.

"The path to normal photo albums lies more in the head than in schools." - do you want to say that it is important to initially have an aesthetic vision and for it to intuitively select (discover) the tool and methods of translating it into photo masterpieces? I think there are not many such nuggets, there will not be enough for kindergarten schools. It is strange that you deny teaching as the transfer of knowledge and experience from the knowledgeable to the students. We read here with interest the educational and educational articles of Arkady, probably, many would gladly learn from him in the lessons.

    • Basil

I am not against teaching. I am against students who, after studying in two schools and practicing in the studios, come to the forum and ask: "I want to go into commerce, what should I do next?"
Our dialogue reminded me of a joke about the state exam at the zoological faculty.
Professor - So tell me, my dear, everything you know about camels.
Student - Camels live in the desert. They walk on the sand one after another. The second follows the first, the third follows the second, the fourth follows the third ... four hundred and twenty-five goes after four hundred and twenty-four.
Professor, waking up - And the essence is what?
Student - Piss? Yes, in the sand and piss.

      • Valery A.

And what is the essence of the joke? But Vladimir reasonably asked your opinion on what technique to take for responsible shooting. Not punishable.

      • Vladimir

Because photo schools do not give results.
        The result is commerce.
Skated theory + a couple of practices and go yourself with God.
Take a lot of pictures and everything will be fine.
        What is not clear here?
        They don’t beat for demand.
