    Good day!
I wanted to ask the experts, they say that this lens is not on friendly terms with Nikon D750. Well, in the sense that it does not work correctly with him. Is that so or not?

with the d780 it works great both in normal mode (through the mirror) and in the UPC. With the D750, in theory, it should also work out as it should. I came across an exhibit with a squeaking motor, it does not affect the work in any way.

Alas, it is better to get rid of the lens or look for a motor on ebee.
According to the repairmen, it will not work for a long time with a whistle.
The whistle appears due to the fact that the lens (like its colleague Canon 28-70 / 2.8) is leaky, does not like dampness, moisture and dust. Nikkor starts to whistle after picking up a certain amount of dust.

It works with the D750. And it seemed to me that he resolves his matrix.
My copy 28-70 / 2.8D does not beep yet.
The lens is good and there are many offers on the market.
But you need to watch and listen to all of them, and also be mentally ready to spend 20.000 rubles to replace the motor, or as a temporary option - if you are lucky to blow / clean at a cost of about 12.000 rubles.
Before buying, I highly recommend watching the disassembly and repair video of this lens on youtube. For example from lensservis / nesovet.
In short, the design of the lens, how it is assembled, is criticized. And more people recommend buying 24-70 / 2.8G, it is more reliable. The situation for Nikkoram 28-70 / 2.8 and 24-70 / 2.8 is very similar to the situation between Canon 28-70 / 2.8 and Canon 24-70 / 2.8. 24-70 / 2.8 is easier to disassemble and repair, as well as alignment.

24-70 / 2.8G is not more reliable, but has another disease - the mechanics of the zoom tube, wedge.

There is a problem d750 owners may face. The first line of motor lenses is: 17-35mm, 28-70mm, 80-200mm, 300mm f4d, 300mm f2.8d, 400mm f4d, 500mm f4d, 600mm f4d, and of course they had their childhood illnesses. I have a d750 and one of my lenses (300mm f4 af-s) has a problem that I have with this camera. Autofocus either worked or did not work, the motor did not whistle (in general, there were no questions to the motor for work), and at moments of failure, a quiet chirping was heard from inside the lens (specifically from the converter board). For a year I tried to figure out the problem, shoveled a bunch of information, rang out all the tracks in the lens, changed the converter boards among themselves, everything was in vain. On the English-speaking forums, there was a glimpse of the mention of the grounding modernization service, and then I remembered that at 17-35mm there is an additional wire from the main board to the lens body. The electrical part of the main board for these lenses is the same, and indeed - in 300mm there was an untouched contact, and all grounding was carried out through the contacts of the bayonet. After duplicating the ground wire to the body, the lens worked as it should. In this situation, the complaint is more likely to the weak grounding contact of the d750 mount, but even here each new camera is adjusted by marketers to the latest versions of lenses, and there there are no questions about compatibility.

In the first series of Nikon AF-S lenses, focus motor failure occurs after a certain period of time, depending on usage. Sometimes this fault can even occur for no reason. As a Nikon photographer, I don't buy the first series of Nikon AF-S lenses just for this reason. Because when it breaks down, it can only be repaired at Nikon authorized services and for very high amounts. In fact, apart from Nikon authorized service, there are specialized technical services that are very skilled and can change the focusing motor just like the technicians in Nikon technical service, and they can do this at a very affordable price. However, Nikon does not sell the internal focus motor to special services other than its own authorized services. Moreover, although Nikon is responsible for these defective focus motors, customers pay the penalty. Nikon is issuing a recall for these first series of AF-S lenses (as it did with the Nikon D600/610 and Nikon D750), requiring the focus motor to be replaced free of charge and regardless of which country the lens was purchased from.

    This morning my 28-70 / 2.8D whistled
The whistle is nasty, as if someone is scratching the glass.
I handed it over for repairs near the Perovo metro station.
The owner of the workshop immediately warned that there were no new engines and there would not be.
Something I'm already tired of repairs, then one thing, then another.
    Gotta go to church.

    Greetings and thanks.
