Kenon's pricing policy is hostile. This estimate totals 1 thousand $. The very same 24-70 f2,8 only in the L category already costs $2,2-2,3 thousand, and the price is not decreasing.
It’s not surprising that many photographers are leaving this system and switching to other ones.
Another rattle with distortion like a fisheye, not suitable for RAW shooting
Have you tried it yet? What should a lens be able to do to be able to shoot in RAW?
we are talking, for example, that's what stories are about, when the lenses do not cover the sensor and are cropped programmatically. Even from RAW it is impossible to correct absolutely black corners, or when correcting distortion, part of the frame will be cut off.
I haven't found anything critical about this lens on the Internet yet. It's clear that on the first day of the announcement, the "sellers" were the first to receive it, and their results are all good.
I'm curious about something else: if what ololo said is true (I personally doubt that there is distortion at the level of a fisheye, but I admit that there is a pronounced barrel distortion at a wide angle), does the viewing angle in this case correspond to the stated 28 mm after in-camera correction or is it 28 before correction?
after correction it will be 28 mm, before correction 26-27 (that's why it is 28-70, not 24-70). This is a common thing with Sony lenses
I am of course familiar with different levels of distortion and partially strong vignetting from personal experience on many dozens of lenses, but with black corners due to insufficient coverage of the format for which the lens is made – this is new to me.

There are already photos on the Internet taken with this lens, in RAW without in-camera profiles (and this is exactly how people will process their RAWs - on the post in third-party editors, not in Canon's, and for third-party profiles it may never work). And yes: there is fisheye-level distortion in RAW. Param-param-pam-POOM!

Arkady, there is a pardon in the “main authorities”. Two low dispersion elements and two aspherical elements. You noted that the scheme has three low-dispersive elements. There are two of them on the diagram and on the Canon.ua website, two such elements are indicated in the description in the optical design of this lens.
