the price of 800 tired raccoons is 76 thousand ragged ones :-) who needs it, with the rare exception of rich amateur or professional photographers...
The price will most likely be settled by the market. SP 70-300 VC Di USD was announced at one time for 599 €, and a year later it cost 329 €.
Yes, the price is insane, “super”, for a dark zoom. The remaining Tamrons were equal in price to Sigma, and in some cases they overtook them. We don’t know about bitterness, we don’t really have to talk to anyone, there’s nothing in front of us. The lack of certified service centers speaks for itself. I would rather buy a Sigma 50-500mm f/4.5-6.3 OS AF HSM APO DG for about the same price.
One thing that appealed to me was the ability to shoot 50 mm from 22 cm MDF at a scale of 1:2. For such a zoom it’s bad, even with an additional light, no less.
