A beast, of course) but what has always repelled me about Sony cameras (full-frame ones) is the tiny bayonet mount for such a sensor. Well, even on all official renders it looks unpleasant IMHO - when the corners of the matrix are hidden behind it. It seems to me that this has limited potential and Sony will soon run into physical problems. limitation of the bayonet in terms of development of stabilization, etc., while competitors have much more reserve in this regard. Please someone correct me if I'm wrong)
Conversations about this are not new. Public opinion last year said that Sony’s IBIS had reached its limits and 5 stops in stabilization was the ceiling. But we see that on the A9 III, the manufacturer claims 8 stops. Probably, in terms of amplitude, the limits of physical magnitude have been exhausted, but in terms of frequency and response, this is a matter of technological development, which is still far from physical limitations.
Yes, the topic is quite hackneyed. Interesting opinion, thank you.
A hackneyed story, not worth a damn. If users have nothing else to say, then they are measured by the size of the mount
Global shutter on a full frame is a very important step in the development of cameras. They will test the technology, then they will get to more budget cameras.
On the one hand, in some places they write about a two-layer sensor. In smaller matrices, this made it possible to implement a global shutter while simultaneously reducing noise.
On the other hand, the first tests show 1/3 of a stop more noise than in the A9-2.
Well, we are waiting for full tests.
There is a rumor that the buffer of this ... “miracle” is 60 frames. You go out and take a photo of a bird at 120 fps and you can take a photo for half a second, and then wait ...
And then spend half an hour on the computer looking at the resulting frames in half a second.
Well, of course not, what 60? This is the last century
As a result, the buffer is around 120 frames (according to PetaPixel)
In one of the reviews there was a figure of 1,6 seconds at 120 frames or 190 RAW 14 bit. And this is more logical since there is a pro capture mode with recording up to 1 second at a speed of 120 frames per second BEFORE pressing the shutter. But you need to write down something else after pressing the shutter button.
