The new product is twice as long as the legendary Canon EF-M 22/2:

In any case, the new Nikkor is two times shorter than Tokina / Viltrox 23 / 1,4.
So the length is due to the protected design and the absence of leaving elements.
If you choose without reference to the system, I personally definitely support such a design, even if it is longer than this canon.
MTF, of course, is not stunning, but such an inexpensive compact fix was definitely not enough in the lineup.

Good afternoon I installed the Nikkor Z DX 24mm 1:1.7 on the Nikon Z30 instead of the Kit 16-50mm VR, and with other advantages, it turned out that very strong darkening occurs at the edges of the photo. If I didn’t pay attention before or slightly adjusted the pictures in Photoshop using a vignette, now I’m really struggling, the vignette doesn’t help, the colors change, I have to tint or crop (((
This was especially evident in photos of the sky in hot countries. Maybe the lack of a hood has this effect?
