Due to the incredible success of neural networks, AI, “smart” processing programs and generating images and photos, I came up with the idea to create a direction in photography, which I called 'ZEROJPEG'.
'Zero' is translated from English as 'zero/zero', i.е. pictures in jpeg format (and other non-RAW formats) without additional processing.
Principles of ZERO JPEG (v0.0.4):
- Digital photographs must be taken in non-RAW format, i.e. ready for viewing/printing/publishing. These formats should not require specialized software to properly 'develop' the digital image. Such formats, for example, include JPEG/JPG/TIFF/HEIC/BMP/DNG. Any image storage format is suitable that allows you to get an unambiguous / identical image result when decoding data.
- Pictures in RAW format, that is, in a “raw” form, must be converted to one of the non-RAW formats without making additional settings in the converter program in order to “improve / change” the image (the so-called “stupid” conversion).
- You can use all acceptable image quality control methods built into the camera, camera, or any device that allows you to take a digital picture. Such settings include correction of the level of control of brightness, saturation, sharpness, clarity, tonality, etc., as well as the use of built-in modes multiple exposures, HDR, panoramas, etc.
- It is allowed to use programs for changing the resolution of images while maintaining frame proportions, as well as programs for setting the correct orientation of images (horizontal or vertical).
- It is possible to include data in text format on the picture, such as copyright, date, time and place of shooting, direction “ZERO JPEG”, etc.
main idea - get immediate results. The result is without deep post-processing. Honest, naked, and at the same time “high-quality” source image. ZERO JPEG can be a bit like film photography, which basically gives you the “final result” right away. Although film photography has many loopholes in image manipulation.
It seems to me that such an approach will focus more on the very reality of what is happening, on the shooting process, on the search for and creation of “beautiful”, and not on the post-processing and / or generation process.

perhaps I should describe the essence in more detail: the priority of such a direction should be directly “live” photography, built on more or less real things. It should not be part of post-processing, where reality is washed away with layers of filters or repaints by generative networks. This changes the flow of the photographer from the paradigm “shoot as I shoot, and then finalize” to “shoot right away”. Of course, this method absolutely loses in terms of the quality of the final result. But he focuses more on the process and work with “objective” reality.
With the advent of such neurons as the fifth version of Midjourney (and similar ones), the boundaries of reality are erased. The need for a large number of areas of photography is not needed. For example, stocks, which employ a huge number of photographers, are losing relevance. The photorealism of neurons is frightening already in 2023, over time it will develop very quickly. Photography is already undergoing major changes right now. Most likely, the impact will be comparable to the transition from film to digital.
Against this backdrop, the zero jeep retains the need to be tied to “reality”, to separate the artificial hallucinations of neurons and AI from the more or less objective fixed reflected light using a camera / lens. Thus, zero jeep is more like a mirror of reality than a photoshop filter.
What difference or settings are made in the camera or in the computer? You will get the finished result with film only if you photograph on slides and do not print photos. In all other cases, you somehow process the photo in order to print it.
Or “somehow you don’t process” photos in order to print. If we are talking about really serious processing, then this is, at a minimum, a serious resource-intensive process, first of all, which consumes time.

But if I install it in the camera, I may miss the moment ...

From afar. Any photograph is a combination of light, color and subject. From this point of view, the desired (announced) Zero Jpeg implies as is an attitude to color and close attention to the plot, which implies a large share of creativity or an emphasis on the plot of photography, which is not given to everyone or not always possible. Look at the classics of photography - in the absence of serious tools for light and color correction, they created masterpieces due to the plot. ZeroJpeg is like semantic NuFoto. And what about earnings.
What about earnings? After all, it is not necessary to have only one method of shooting in your arsenal? And, in the end, not everything revolves around money.

In film photography, one could not even dream of ISO from 100 to 6400 in small steps, the choice of white balance, a wide dynamic range, and all this is built into the camera, right away!

Raw files aren't meant to be directly converted to jpg, as a good raw file is as flat as possible. Actually, how a raw file looks depends on a program you open it with. Converting raw like that seems pointless to me, just to make a statement. In-camera jpg is a different thing, though not my cup of tea necessarily. We should take photos (the way we take them) for ourselves and our pleasure, not to prove something to somebody else. AI won't change my photography at all. It may become more niche, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. After all, I'm the author of my images, while AI generated content's authors are the AI programmers + authors of training data (which is us again, since they use our photos to train the AI how to copy them).
You are absolutely right.
AI will change the reality around you and how others perceive you by simply knowing that it exists. Since people live in society and depend on it in one way or another, your enjoyment of photography will also take on a specific flavor or flavor. You “work” for it and it will just go rotten.
