I'm sorry, of course, right? What conclusions can be drawn from this mini review? I see a male portrait, where all the soap is soapy, in fact, whatever one may say, and buttercups are flowers, where occasionally, but conditional focusing comes across, which in the presented photos from the word rarity, more, is being built.
I still didn’t understand the message - do not shoot with them, since it was filmed here? This is clear.
Where are the working apertures in the portrait, where is the composition, where is the color?
Flowers like this here, even on a crop??? the meaning of shooting on a crop on optics of several hundred dollars, frankly, is not cheap ??? What for?
You achieve the same results already at 1.4 on the same Olik, God forgive me, for 50/70, when shooting at ff, only blur is blur, and sharpness is sharpness.
If someone is able to explain this to me, please translate.

    • Rodion

You see - you made the right conclusions - "you achieve the same results already at 1.4 on the same Mistake", and better results can be achieved with some kind of 7 artisans. For the ancient class 50 / 1.2 optics from DSLRs are no longer relevant today. I'm pretty sure that there are not enough focus gaps in BW photos: you are mistaking the huge bunch of aberrations of this old mediocre lens for defocus.

      • Dmitry Kostin

Rodion, and if it's not a secret, what is your opinion of the Canon EF 50 / 1.2L, if of course you managed to use it?

        • Rodion

Unfortunately, I didn't get to use it. But he already has aspherics, so comparing it with 50 / 1.2 lenses without aspherics is even somehow dishonest. In a six-lens double gauss, aspherics do not bring much benefit, but in the mentioned canon there is already a more complex eight-lens scheme, where the aspherical surface effectively controls the coma, judging by the MTF.

    • Arkady Shapoval

this is a retro lens, what conclusions can there be?

    • LoliFromFutanari

Conclusion: the lens is interesting for its softness, a huge number of image imperfections that give it a personal character. This and similar lenses will be of interest to people who are not looking for sharpness, but are looking for their own style in photography, which is formed, among other things, thanks to the equipment used.

      • Arkady Shapoval

I have here selection on it at f / 1.2.
