Great, I want one already
Judging by the optical design, the lens has more special optical elements than ordinary ones)
Meanwhile, KMZ re-releases the six-lens Russar 20 / 5.6 ...
Yes, the Chinese made a dream - an ultra-compact width. So far, under crop, but ff will be, I'm sure.
And they also have a plastic Rockstar 10/8 fisheye for crop (although who will forbid them to shoot on ff?), Also interesting. And it only costs $50.

I'll make a couple of comments:
The lens can be ordered for $299 on the venus optics website, but I would wait until it appears on the secondary market.
Venus optics has a 9mm f/2.8 zero-d lens for crops. On the American secondary market you can catch about $350. It weighs 80 grams more from the buns - a large aperture, zero-distorsion, a more human thread for the filter and a lens hood in the kit. Against its background, this glass is interesting only for its compactness.
But in technical terms, Venus Optics are as cool as few people.
I wonder if the edges will be cut a lot if you put this on a full-frame BZK ...
very strong, like Sony 16 / 2,8
The developer immediately published samples in high resolution, you can see it on DPreview. Judging by the first impression, the lens is a compromise. The sharpness may turn out to be comparable to Laova 9 / 2,8 (that is, below average by the standards of fixes), but according to HA, everything is sad there. For a cheap pancake, the result is good, but no more.
Although, of course, we must wait for full-fledged reviews of serial lenses. How many times have pre-production lenses been oblique ...
Scolded for strong vignetting at the edges.
Well, I would not call a manual, cropped and dark pancake for 300 cheap.
Canon rf 16mm f / 2.8 for full frame autofocus costs the same 300
Samyang 12mm f/2 costs 200 in open box condition.
So I don't really know
...
Yes, I also already looked at the samples - not a fountain ...
It was expected for $ 300 and such stuffing inside is of course a lot more, especially then 5.6
The fact that it is manual is just not a problem, autofocus on such parameters, as it were, is not needed. But…
