the “Start” camera is a reflex camera, the lens mount is bayonet, the shutter speed is up to 1/1000 - and you don’t need more, it’s cheap. the release began in 1959, although it is analog :-))) ... but do not get bored, and you will know well, in addition to the technique of manual photography and the features of photo optics, also photo chemistry ...

Olegas for Buryat fun choosing Canon 1Ds.

    • Dmitry Kostin

I don’t remember in his videos for 3 years that he discussed 1Ds.
Can you post a link to the video?
And then, he did not seem to be a wedding man and was not going to move from Kyiv.

Dmitry, you should not enter into communication with this character. I hope that Arkady will ban him.

        • Andrei

They forgot to ask you what to do.

Tse until wine is not taken. All the time.

I don't think you should bother. It's important to look at the story. The fewer bells and whistles, the more effort goes into conveying the basis of the inner world of the photographer. There are a lot of famous photographers who cannot convey the essence of photography ...

Sony A7 is quite budgetary, quite full-frame and there are a lot of optics.

  • Vlad

Why did they forget Sony a7? It is weak and raw, but it has a good sensor and a promising system. Plus, adapters, ease of use with manual optics, etc.

  • Victor

Guys who advise Sony a7 - read carefully the title of the video.

    • Sergei

Okay, let's imagine that Arkady decided to make a video "Budget SLR full frame. Choice of cheap full frame. Full Frame around $500. The choice of used camera."

What, besides A7, will get there? Nothing. Nikon Z5 / 6/7 and Canon R5 / 6 / P have not yet had time to drop in price, Panasonic is not funny, A7s is too specific, and there is no one else.

Therefore, IMHO, from the very beginning it was necessary to do not a budget mirror full frame, into just a budget full frame, add A7 there and not bother with the second video.

    • Sergei

Okay, let's imagine that Arkady decided to make a video "Budget mirrorless full frame.

And yet the video was filmed just like that.

And given the cost of d750 / d800e, in addition to the first a7, a7s (why is it specific? mp embarrassing?), A7ii, a7r and even RP will fit into the mirrorless “review”. View the current prices of the specified cameras.

        • Sergei

          > And yet the movie was shot that way.

This is strange. Well, Arkady knows better, maybe he has some cunning plan.

          > A7ii, a7r and even RP.

Something I have not seen RP for $500.

          > (why specific? mp confuse?)

There was just a review on this camera, it says why it is specific: https://radojuva.com/2022/06/a7s/

          • Victor

            >> There was just a review on this camera, it says why it is specific:

Thanks for the link, but as far as I understand, Rodion did not use this term. Is it difficult for you to explain why you think it is specific? I see a possible "problem" in the amount of MP, but this problem is not for everyone.

            >>Something I haven't seen RP for $500.

I haven’t seen the $750 d500 either, but this camera is included in the selection. Doesn't it bother you? Let not 500, but 700, does this make a big difference?

            • Sergei

              > Do you find it difficult to explain why you think it is specific?

It says in the conclusion: “In general, Sony A7s is rather a niche solution (video shooting, shooting with old and specific optics), A7 series cameras (starting with A7M2) have a better balance of properties.”

I agree with the conclusion. A7S is rather niche, specific.

              • Victor

This does not prevent her from being a budget full-frame camera.

Please pay attention: Rodion takes a PHOTO on it, not a VIDEO :)

              • Rodion

A7s, as I said in my article, loses even the first A7 in auto focus. Well, a small resolution sensor, yes. BUT. If we are talking about choosing a budget camera, then there are D3s, d700 and 5d with similar resolution matrices, although with better AF (phase sensors, though). The A7s has many advantages over the A7 and A7R on a budget:
                1) The camera has been significantly improved in comparison with the A7 (body, electronic shutter, video capabilities);
                2) The camera can work even with the most fig optics and show a good result (I remember the “magic of 12 MP at ff” in the old-old review of Industar-29, where one of the conclusions was the thesis about the good sharpness of the lens, although everything is very good with it poorly). That is, by buying A7s, a person can save a lot on optics, very much. The LA-EA4 adapter is not cheap, but you can use a bunch of ancient cheap minolta optics with it, moreover, with normal AF.
                3) Files from A7s are small and can be processed on the most rotten (budget) PC. I've been running raves on a very simple 1.6 GHz Core M processor lately and don't feel much discomfort. I remember exactly that files from 600D (18 MP) required more processing resources.
                4) Finally, A7s has noticeably fallen in price and can be considered “budget”.

Therefore, if there are no restrictions in the budget, then the choice for photography of A7s may be dictated by specific requirements (weak optics or non-telecentric lenses with a small distance, the need for high ISOs). If the budget is limited, then choosing the A7s for photography needs over the A7 and A7R is very justified.

            • Sergei

              > I haven't seen a $750 d500 either, but this camera is included in the selection. Doesn't it bother you?

Actually, Arkady just posted a comparison of budget mirrorless cameras, and yes, the cost bar had to be raised.

          • Victor

            Here's a fresh review :)

  • Michael

Guys, Nikon “C grades” is very, very zero good)))))

  • Sergei

even the Soviet shift 8m can take a full frame! some can and some can't. this is the difference. https://fotoussr.ru/cameras/smena-8m/. question in the manual or in the figure.
