  • Sergei

I have more confidence in the previous version of this stock lens for the EF-M mirrorless mount.
13 lenses instead of 7. And three aspherics instead of two.
And this one is darker, and only two advantages are weight and size.

    • Vlad

It also had 15 mm at the wide end - pretty nice

    • Victor

      15-45 still has 10 lenses, not 13.

But 15 mm wide, yes, and f / 3.5 (and here the wide angle was “darkened”)

    • Victor

Yes, and the weight and size are so-so dignity, given that they even slightly increased in comparison with 15-45.

  • Alexander

6.3 at 45mm? We are confidently moving into the thirties of the last century, when the windows were just as dark. I stubbornly do not understand what is the point in such lenses.

    • B. R. P.

There were no zooms at all in the 30s. According to the exposure of 5,6 or 6,3, it is not so important now, the ISO is large workers. The point is to reduce the cost (for the manufacturer) of the production of budget zooms. What is incomprehensible here.

      • Arkady Shapoval

mirrorless, easier lens design, improved performance…they said.

    • Victor

The meaning of any lens is the conversion of one beam of light energy into another beam. More than that makes no sense :)

Actually, 5.6 and 6.3 is not such a dramatic difference. Third stop. In good light, one fig, in bad light - similarly, both are dark.

  • KOSTIANTYN

That is some kind of degradation ... the 21st century, and they all rivet dark staffers, and even for 300 USD!

    • Arkady Shapoval

In the whale it goes around 150

      • Nicholas

I don’t know, for me everything is simple - there is good optics (and cameras), there is a balance - price / quality (extremely rare, but it happens) and there is another balance - price / wallet. This miracle is clearly from the third category. And yes, thank you marketing. Old, but new, analogue of whale lenses. Buying is easy, selling disappointed is impossible.

        • B. R. P.

          Fact.

        • Victor

Sorry, but you write as if you have already tested this new optics up and down and made sure that it is NOTHING better than the old 18-55 is from 2007, only even darker))
But the new lens in the kit is only $20 more expensive (18-55 in the kit cost $100), I wonder if there was such a noise then too?)))

          • Vlad

By the way, the latest versions of mirror 18-55 (stm / afp) are really very good. Fast, sharp, stable. 15-45 much worse

            • Victor

I, too, from 15-45 when I tried it was not happy. Although many reviews say otherwise. Maybe the quality is floating.

  • Oleg

In short, darker, more expensive. I feel no one will produce sensible optics on a new crop, as well as on a mirror crop. They will feed the shits from 6.3

    • Arkady Shapoval

a mirrorless crop is quite for Fuji and Micra. And with ZK for a long time everything.

      • Oleg

Micra? I never understood a small matrix at the price of a full frame. Here I agree with Olegas. As for the canon crop, it's better to look at the full frame right away. Moreover, the price difference is small with some models

      • Vlad

Sony forgot) their main interest is one mount with a FF system. At the same time, a lot of decent optics, especially third-party ones (which, by the way, are fully supported)

        • Oleg

One tamron 18-70 / 2,8 is worth what

        • Arkady Shapoval

Sony has a crop, I'm talking about original lenses, also a small set of optics, either dark, or specific, or not very successful

          • Victor

Yes, Sony's crop may not be too good with native optics, but there are a lot of third-party autofocus, for any wallet.

  • Zhukhvan

I don’t see any reason to whine, is there any point in comparing soapy SLR lenses with RFS? One fig 18-55 at 5.6 was not sharp.

    • B. R. P.

And how is the soapiness of the lens related to its specularity and vice versa?

      • Victor

It is with specularity - no way, but technology does not stand still, megapixels are also growing, the resolution of glasses is logically increasing.
