Please note that this lens does not have any identification marks on its body. It only says '25mm 1:1.4 TV LENS' on its body, and its box has only one single 'VISIONLENS'. This lens is often referred to as 'FUJIAN 25/1.4' by analogy with other similar solutions, for example, FUJIAN CHINA TV LENS GDS-35 f=35mm 1:1.7. In this review, for convenience, I will call it exactly the same - FUJIAN 25/1.4.
This lens has a C-MOUNT mount (thread) and can be easily installed on any modern mirrorless camera using a simple and cheap adapter. In the review, I used a FUJIAN 25 / 1.4 lens with an adapter C-mount -> Sony E/NEX (black color, but there are silvery).
It's important: FUJIAN 25/1.4 is available in two body colors: black and silver. This review shows the version with a black body color. For some reason, it didn't come with the lens silver, the black Adapter C-mount -> Sony E/NEX.
In short
Fujian 25 / 1.4 - a modern fast lens with manual focus, uses a C-MOUNT mount, which makes it easy to adapt on any modern mirrorless camera. Covers Micro 4/3 sensor. With APS-C sensors gives uncorrectable vignetting (example). One of the cheapest such fixes for cameras with Micro 4/3 sensor and a maximum aperture of F / 1.4, the cost of which is around $ 15.
25 mm is a convenient focal length that allows using the Fujian 25 / 1.4 as a standard (standard) lens for a huge number of different photo tasks with cameras of the Micro 4/3 system, on which it EGF will be about 50 mm.
Fujian 25 / 1.4 is interesting very low price and a maximum relative aperture of 1:1.4, as well as a 12-bladed diaphragm. It has serious optical flaws, optically it is a very weak lens, especially at the aperture value of F / 1.4. First of all, Fujian 25 / 1.4 is suitable for a variety of creative shooting.
It's important: Fujian 25/1.4 refers to the so-called CCTV lenses, they are also called TV LENS, which are most often used in CCTV cameras. Most often, such lenses are designed for cameras with no more than an inch sensor and cannot cover large sensors (like APS-C or MFT). In this case, the Fujian 25/1.4 barely copes with the Micro 4/3 sensor.
UPDATE: list of all FUJIAN lenses here.

Fujian 25/1.4 is only a third darker than Olympus M.Zuiko Digital 25mm 1:1.2. At the same time, Fujian 25 / 1.4 costs almost 100 times cheaper (15 dollars против 1300 dollars).
It's important: F/14 aperture here is 'true', with light transmission around T/1.6. I compared Fujian 25 / 1.4 with a lens Sigma 30mm 1: 1.4 DC DN C (Contemporary). Lately I've been careful about the maximum relative aperture, there have already been many cases of cheating with the indication of the real maximum aperture by some Chinese manufacturers: 7Artisans 35 / 0.95, 7Artisans 50 / 1.05, Pergear 35 / 1.6 etc.
Assembly
In general, the lens is poorly assembled: there is a significant backlash in the aperture control ring, and the lens itself easily unwinds into 2 parts. Fujian 25/1.4 has metal mount for bayonet, and the lens case itself is completely made of metal.
The front lens cap is plastic, it just fits snugly into the body.
The weight of the lens is about 80 grams. The diameter of the filters is only 30 mm (rare diameter).
The front lens is deeply recessed into the frame of the body, which forms a kind of built-in hood.
The diaphragm consists of 12 petals and forms a round hole at any values, while in the photographs in the blur zone, rather round discs of blur are obtained at any aperture. The diaphragm can only be controlled manually using a special ring. Aperture ring rotates smoothly no clicks and fixed values, you can set any intermediate value in the range F / 1.4-F / 11, which is very useful when shooting video. In the 'C' position, the iris closes completely and lets no light through (or almost no light through).
Focusing
The focus ring is metal, ribbed, uncomfortable. The focus ring is too close to the mount, making it difficult to use.
The ring spins on 270 degrees. Focusing is smooth.
During focusing, the trunk of the lens runs forward but does not spin. During focusing, the entire lens block moves.
There is no focusing distance scale on the focus ring, but only two NEAR / FAR (near / far) marks. The minimum focusing distance is 30 centimeters, and the maximum magnification ratio is approximately 1:10. The lens comes with a special macro ring, which allows you to achieve a magnification of 1:2. The macro ring is screwed onto the mounting thread of the lens and the 'C-MOUNT -> desired system' adapter is already installed on top of the ring. On sale, I saw kits with two of these macro rings to achieve higher magnification ratios.
Fujian 25/1.4 has a slight 'Focus Breathing' effect. During focusing towards the MDF, the viewing angle decreases.
Hard stop (hard infinity mechanical stop) for fast and accurate focusing under any operating temperature conditions, the lens does not have. With adapter C-mount -> Sony E/NEX (included in delivery) present huge flight infinity at the extreme position of the focus ring.
Focus peaking with Fujian 25/1.4 and cameras Sony a3500 on F / 1.4 it works mediocre.
Image quality
The lens is very weak at f/1.4 even in the center of the frame. In general, an open aperture can only be used for some artistic photographic tasks. Seriously talking about the image quality with this lens is not worth it.
Sharpness
- F / 1.4 lens has very poor resolution in the center of the frame
- catastrophic subsidence of sharpness at the corners and edges of the frame (we are talking about MFT sensors)
- with the aperture covered up to F / 2.8, the resolution becomes good, but only strictly in the center of the frame
- mediocre contrast
Distortion
- there is a small barrel-shaped distortion
- distortion is unified, easy to edit in the editor
Vignetting
- a strong vignetting to F/1.4 (for Micro 4/3 sensor)
- vignetting decreases with focus towards MDF. Most noticeable when focusing on infinity
- vignetting is very weak when using the macro ring
- when closing the aperture, completely black far corners appear (Micro 4/3)
- this is how the vignette looks on an APS-C sensor
Aberration
- There are a lot of chromatic aberrations
- there is a large number spherical aberrations on f / 1.4
- there is a noticeable frigging (the color of contrasting elements in the out-of-focus area is purple or green)
Rest
- from bright light sources, you can get strong flare, glare, halos (Example 1, Example 2)
- blur discs on covered apertures have a very even shape
- color reproduction may suffer, the lens gives a slight yellow-green tint to the light (poor enlightenment)
Important: at the time of writing this review, there was no Fujian 25/1.4 profile for popular RAW converters. You can create a profile yourself or wait for its release.
Sample Photos
Sample photos on Sony a3500 (Sony Exmor APS-C HD CMOS sensor at 20 MP). All photos are JPEGs from the camera.
It's important: on camera Sony a3500 function was used 'Magnification 1.4X', which gives an additional crop factor 1.4x. This function allows you to take only the central area of the image, cutting off the edges and corners. We can say that the function 'Zoom 1.4X' simulates working with a Micro 4/3 sensor (by crop factor).
EGF Fujian 25/1.4 on camera Sony a3500 with the function 'Zoom 1.4X' is 52.5 mm (25*1.5*1.4=52.5). The size of the original images is still the same 20 MP, but this is an interpolation from the central area of the frame, equal to about 14 MP (this interpolation cannot be turned off). The review used a FUJIAN 25 / 1.4 lens with an adapter C-mount -> Sony E/NEX.
Original JPEG images can be view / download from this link (50+ files, Google Drive gallery). In 'Zoom 1.4X' mode on the camera Sony a3500 You can only take pictures in 'JPEG' image quality, so I only post photos in 'JPEG' format.
Price
Fujian 25 / 1.4 stands in the area 15 dollars. The easiest way buy Fujian 25/1.4 at Aliexpress.comFor example, here at this link.
Results
Fujian 25 / 1.4 is a tiny lens, optically very weak, but also very cheap. At F / 1.4 it can act as a creative solution. On covered apertures in the center of the frame is pretty good. On Micro 4/3 sensors, it gives a funny twisted bokeh.
10 main advantages
- very low price tagonly about 15 dollars)
- maximum aperture F/1.4
- very compact sizes
- twelve aperture blades
- smooth aperture adjustment
- focus ring rotates 270 degrees
- there is a macro ring in the delivery set
- there is an adapter included in the package
- twisted bokeh (can be used for artistic effects)
- good sharpness in the center of the frame starting from F / 2.8
10 main disadvantages
- in fact, this is a NO-NAME lens (lens without a name), which does not inspire any confidence
- focus ring is uncomfortable, too close to the mount
- no CPU pins to form the correct EXIF
- diaphragm control ring play
- bad enlightenment
- rare filter diameter at 30 mm
- there is no lens profile for popular RAW converters, the lens is not 'hardwired' into modern cameras
- strong glare in the backlight, a strong drop in contrast in the side light
- the lens does not cover APS-C sensors (for example, Fujian 35/1.6 deal with it easily)
- critical drop in sharpness at F / 1.4 at the edges and corners of the image (at Micro 4/3), poor resolution at F / 1.4 in the center of the frame
After creating the Fujian 25/1.4 review, the lens will be sold, and the proceeds will go to humanitarian aid to victims of the war. You are welcome, support Radozhiva.
