Why so dark?

The front lens sits deep enough, you can carry it without a cover and a protective filter ...
An interesting decision. Especially for street photography?
They cheapened the price, it was necessary to put at least 500.
And here is the question! Do many watering cans have a frame under 40mm?
Something I got the impression that the aperture of this lens is located in front of the optical unit.
I took a closer look - still no, the diaphragm is simply too close to the front lens. And it has the shape of a pentagon (not even a nut).
