On January 19, 2022, the Canon R5 C was officially introduced.
The main differences from the unmodified version:
- Canon R5 C is a modification of the Canon R5 camera introduced on 09.07.2020/XNUMX/XNUMX. The 'C' in the name means 'CINEMA', the camera is aimed at filmmaking
- Built-in cooling fan for continuous 8K 60p recording
- Capable of recording 8K 60p 12-bit Cinema RAW Light (base version only had 8K 30p)
- Many additional video modes
- There is no built-in image stabilizer (most likely the stabilizer was removed to improve heat dissipation from the sensor)
- At maximum video quality, lens control is disabled (there is not enough battery to control autofocus, aperture, stabilizer). Treated with an external power supply
- There are additional restrictions on memory cards
- Part of the auto focus capabilities taken from the Canon EOS R3
- Multiple controls for comfortable video shooting
- Plenty of accessory ports for filmmaking (including a new multi-interface hot shoe)
- Weight 770 grams with battery and memory card
- The price is about 4.500 dollars per body, BHphotovideo | ADORAMA

The total humiliation of Sonya, as Oleg wrote)))
Like little kids, look at “show-offs”, “humiliations” and other “tsatski”
We found someone to listen to… Olegas is a “fat” troll, with the arguments of a capricious child…
On the subject: R5C is an interesting novelty that continues the arms race in video capabilities among prof. mirrorless segment. Moreover, Canon went the way of Sony FX3, where the “basic” camera was taken and finalized with an emphasis on video. I am sure that the camera will find its buyer.
By the way, I wanted to know: are the brand of ARRIS TV equipment and ARRI cameras somehow connected?
Not connected
The old hot shoe was replaced with a new, universal one.
According to the photo capabilities, it seems like it’s not cut down by anything else, except for the lack of a matrix stub. If nothing else has been trimmed, then the R5c looks much more attractive.
Ps (maybe not sure exactly) battery grip (same as in r5) - an option that allows you not to use an external power source for maximum camera modes.
