    Apparently it's a movie camera.

    • Oleg

Apparently there is no lens from her from the previous announcement

      Of course, a movie camera)

  • Lyons

Another useless toy! The world of photography has been in decline for a long time, and sales of cameras are below the floor. Everyone who needs cameras already has a reason to buy something new, if it, in fact, does not bring anything new! They come up with all sorts of nonsense, which, in fact, is needed only by a few and only to colorfully write that it is! Most people click their smartphones and on this small screen they are quite happy with what they see! In fact, since 2009, nothing new has been done in quality, because this quality was already good then, and all sorts of goodies, such as focusing on the eyes and so on - why is it needed? It does not add anything, except that it is, and in fact there is no sense in it! A true creative Photographer should do everything himself, and not hope that the camera will release its wings and fly to the angle itself! This is no longer a photographer, but a milking machine operator!

    • Dmitry V.G.

This “useless toy” is not a camera, but a video camera, a tool for videographers / filmmakers, and with the help of this useless toy, professionals will earn a lot of money. ;) Well, yes, that's right.

    • Andrei

What was so mega-serious that happened in 2009?

      • Arkady Shapoval

Apparently d3s came out, after which there has been no significant growth in ISO for 12 years now, I have it here https://radojuva.com/2021/05/cmos-bolshe-10-let-topchetsya-na-meste/

        • Andrei

If this were really the case, then manufacturers would not bother releasing new cameras. It is much more profitable to release the same model than to develop new ones.
And I strongly disagree with regard to focusing on the eyes - why is it needed? To focus on the eyes, of course. And this is not only good in the video. I don't even want to comment on the wings and the angle, it is clear that no one cancels the work of the photographer, but to facilitate his work technically, this is the camera's task.
Machine milking - ahahaha, really? You can't milk a thousand cows with handles ... (won't you get bored)? Well, doi.

          • Arkady Shapoval

It seems to me that there are two main factors of development:
            1. 4K / 8K video, which requires a different resolution and other sensors
            2. Transition to UPC, which also requires other sensors

            • Andrei

Therefore, the “useless toy” in the comment above reads like ... Well, you get the idea.
Everyone in Panasonic is fools, only Lyon is smart, but no one turns to him for advice. How so? In the opinion of such lions, the progress in camera construction should have ended at the Zenith, and that's how it goes.

          • Dim

“If this were really the case, then manufacturers would not bother releasing new cameras. It is much more profitable to release the same model than to develop new ones. " - funny. New cameras are released so that it would be impossible to buy spare parts and repair the "old" ones, and not at all for your good, and just a quick breakdown of old ones is very beneficial to the manufacturer - once you bought it, you will buy it again.

            • Andrei

Selling parts is more profitable than selling a whole product. If you assemble a car, a TV set, any household appliances, a camera for spare parts, then it will cost much more than buying a new one.
But there is technical progress and competition. The production of new cameras, and everything else, is connected precisely with this, and not so that you cannot buy spare parts and make repairs. If this does not apply to very ancient technology.

            • Jea reth

You have a totally wrong idea of the modern industrial production of technically complex products.

Any enterprise in any field spends an incredible amount of money on the production of a technically finished product from components, since such production is not just “putting everything together, flashing it and turning it on”. It is several orders of magnitude cheaper to stamp parts on the market.

And this only applies to the release of a product that has already entered serial production. Developing and launching a completely new product is an even higher cost.

And regarding the imaginary “planned aging”, which many people love so much, as a technologist of the assembly line of an automobile plant, I will tell you: it is simply impossible in principle to artificially limit the resource of a technically complex product. If only for the simple reason that it is not an easy task to at least produce enough high-quality components to satisfy the quality department of the manufacturer. And if you drive a marriage out of good components, they will overwhelm you with complaints so that not a single supplier will come to you.

    • Zheka

Yes, I understand you, Zenith and the change on the tape is yours. Shoot on your smartphone further.

    • Jea reth

What is real creativity for you, may I ask?
Real creative photographers have been sitting at 8x10 standards for a long time, taking pictures like ours and not blowing away - do not worry about them.
And the next “useless toys”, as practice shows, are useless only for those who are still sitting on some mammoth from 2003. If you give you a baby EOS R with a fresh firmware with a brand new stable zoom, and then after half an hour give the old man 5D, then you will choke in your own words.
And also accept the fact that in our age of media content, the efficiency of your work depends on equipment and its capabilities. Which is directly proportional to the amount of money earned. Because people can use equipment for work. And for such people the tasks are radically different from yours, as are the ways of solving them.

The one who denies the importance of progress always sticks out on the sidelines of history.

      • Dim

I have five DSLRs from different times and one mirrorless camera, some of them are immediately laid out in different photo backpacks along with flashes, spare batteries, filters. I just grab one of them and go for a walk. I never felt a shock from the fact that I use devices from different eras, but the fact that one carcass has flash control or high-speed synchronization, and the other does not - you feel it right away. This is the case when I forgot to charge both the main and spare batteries ... Although, of course, I'm not a pro.

        • Jea reth

If you don’t feel the difference between cameras from different eras, then you obviously don’t solve problems with them where specific functionality would be required. Which, however, is quite normal for the amateur photographer.
Everything is simple in practice. Cameras have been satisfying the needs of the ordinary amateur photographer beyond measure with their functionality for a long time. And so much beyond measure that 9 out of 10 amateurs do not even understand how their camera works, even approximately. People often do not know how to use pulsed light and do not know what a fill flash is, and they have never heard of any Adams zones and why spot metering is needed. Just because few people hit all this jungle, because objectively everything is already complicated there.
And in a professional environment, when you need to shoot material at all costs, you are much more likely to drive equipment to the brink of possibilities. And there all these small chips, which the average amateur does not even know about, come to the fore.

      • Zheka

Usually this is a typical reaction of amateur photographers who cannot afford to change their equipment often (although I personally think that for personal purposes it is possible not to change and sit on the old equipment), as well as those who are not aware that they make money with this technique. Like, I came to the village, shot a tree on Nikon D200, preset it, crossly, why is this Panas modular, shit, no need. Or there is another reaction: for example Nikon Z9 comes out, moans rise: “Nirially expensive, how is it, we even have such a camera you can't buy on credit. " So this camera is unnecessary for an ordinary amateur, 99% of its capabilities will be unclaimed, at least because another ten thousand are needed for top-end optics. For professionals it is relevant, for the rest it is not. The fact that this panas came out like a cube, I think it was successful, the panas of the C series are in demand among videographers, you can assemble the setup that pulls the budget / or desire. Top Red also have cubes that do not have a viewfinder, handles with a start button, autofocus, the whole body kit is assembled based on the task.

      • Guren302

Jea Reth, don't choke. Such people will continue to grumble. All these school photographers shooting with healthy DSLRs from the early XNUMXs are a living example of this.

    • Alexander

Actually, cameras have been doing this for a long time. They release their wings and fly to a given angle. DJI Mavic, for example. And they do technological photography according to the program, without the direct participation of the operator. And they don't need a viewfinder :). It remains to write a plugin “choosing an artistically valuable angle” :). And the tasks of photographers are very, very different, so this camera will find its audience, only the price :( ...

      • Victor

What's the price? For the target audience, this is a piece of cake, there are other expenses there are even more, and the income is at the level.

        • Alexander

Well, yes. And those whose incomes are not at the level, will rent the necessary set for the duration of the shooting ... And for amateur purposes a smartphone or a regular camera is enough, especially if you buy a stub and other "little things". The quality will be completely on the prof. level, if hands grow from the right place. By the way, I recently watched the work of professionals - filmed with Fuji X-T4. The result is more than high-quality, and 90% of it is the merit of the operator, not the technician :)

  • Boris

And where is the hole, which one to look at the object being filmed?

    • Andrei

      What are the assumptions?

    • Zheka

Obviously, this is a modular system, if you need a viewfinder you can connect an external monitor, follow focus, external handles, mounts for external large batteries and hard drives. This is not a street photo camera.

      • in

        But with a hot shoe

        • Zheka

You can put a hard disk there or an external monitor / recorder, but all you want is a constructor

  • Michael

I don’t need that. This I know 100% for sure.

    • Victor

      Keep in touch :-)
