  • Oleg

And you said: zaheitit, zajitit. And the old lady in the councils wiped her nose R5 even

    • Oleg

      in the lights

    • in

Well, he zaheit. I did not understand the camera, I went to shoot sports at ISO 3000, I was still surprised at 12MB ravam! Oh, what a fine fellow. Vadimka seems to be a good fellow against his background.

      • Oleg

In my opinion, all clearly the possibilities of dd showed whether it is possible to squeeze something out of an old woman in difficult conditions, but whether this makes sense and whether it is worth buying it is another question. But I am amazed at the possibilities of dd, modern canons do not pull that much

        • Arkady Shapoval

I wonder who, in principle, can pull the light

          • Oleg

            I think nobody

  • Alexander

There is such a proposal, without irony or what else.
Create a category of devices "Toys for adult boys" :)
Indeed, for making money (pros). the camera is inconvenient, slow, etc.
For the amateur, “for all occasions”. similarly.
With its speed at the level of later superzoom (my experience, while pressing from half-pressing to “take a picture”, the sparrow managed to jump), with a low matrix resolution (count this for the required focal length of the required lens, for an acceptable frame size on the screen), ancient iron ... is not particularly inspiring.
And the price ... having bought three devices over the past two years, I can say that the price for which they are selling is not at all the price for which they are buying. The latter is two to three times lower.
But advertising, yes, this is sacred, now a certain seller in olkh is talking about 500 thousand! shutter life Fujifilm FinePix S.

    • in

Two years, three cameras, what a rich experience! And they managed to see the advertisement! Ay-yes Oleg, what a cunning - he says not to buy to anyone, apparently he wants to inflate prices! Acts from the opposite

      • Alexander

I honestly said right away that the neophyte is in the photo.
Although my first camera was Yunkor, a wide film, two apertures, two shutter speeds ... don't last that long. :)

  • Vladimir

About 5 years ago, after reading reviews about Fujifilm FinePix S5 Pro and Fujifilm FinePix S3 I was going to buy, phoned the owner of the second and then the first, for a long, very long time testing both ... As a result, I bought Pentax k-7, now there are two mirrorless cameras, sony and Fujifilm one for the soul, another for ... work and it doesn't matter which one is for what ... And these two misunderstandings, I concluded for advertising, this is how they advertise to buy a Volga 31029 in the tesla era ...

    • in

Probably testing like Oleg from the video? Then no wonder. Just don't rush to write the next comment. You didn't shoot them after all

      • Zheka

And what's the point that he has some good parameters. I had a chance to shoot on S3 for a couple of days. But I cannot say that I am nostalgic about this. Well, good professional fotik. If you buy how to evaluate that he is not killed in the trash?

    • Zheka

For the soul, as it were possible, but such an old technique, with an incomprehensible past, buy and break, what then :)). Yet sellers usually say that they were filming for a hobby, lying on the shelf, and personally, after three films, the mechanism of the purchased Hasselblad broke down, stopped cocking, Well, I sent it to Sweden for repair, it lay there for three months until some detail was found from the donor , done, cleaned, changed the lubricant. Now it just lies on the shelf 😁😁

      • Andrii

Those. could it not have been repaired?

        • Zheka

Andrey, I'm afraid that something will break down there again 😄

    • vvs

      What a nafig Tesla era.
The era of Hyundai Solaris and Kuya Rio.

  • Alexander

The uniqueness of the FinePix S5 Pro is shown even by dxomark figures, with all their conventions.
And it is necessary / not necessary the master's business, everyone has their own wishlist.

    • Arkady Shapoval

Just at ISO 800, noise reduction is turned on and R-pixels are turned off, and with them high DD. ISO 1000 seems to be implemented on the ISO 800 boost. That is why such a dramatic drop.

And I have a question for experts. I often see a reference to

      https://www.photonstophotos.net/Charts/PDR.htm

The link is used to measure DD. Often the Fujifilm FinePix S5 Pro sample is cited as an example of the “really” low DD of this camera. But there is absolutely every suspicion that the measurement was done at 100% D-RANGE.

The premise is simple - the graphs repeat the usual 6 MP cameras of that time (the only difference is that the Fujifilm FinePix S5 has ISO 100). On the D-RANGE, R-pixels are disabled 100% and the camera becomes almost equivalent in DD to the usual 6 MP CCD: Nikon D100, D40, D50, D70, D70s, Pentax * ist DL2, K100D

And one more prerequisite is that their software is not able to chew RAW (RAF) from Heap and sees just ordinary data from S-pixels (it sees, in fact, an ordinary CCD of that time).

I wrote to the author of the site, I'm waiting for some answer. Maybe someone can explain, having smoked the manuals of the site, or somehow competently, why this is so.

      • Alexander

In general, the situation with measurements is this - if any standard establishes accuracy standards, then a methodology for measuring them is attached to it, where conditions, devices, etc. are described.
In this case, as I understand it, everyone uses what is at hand. Therefore, the results may differ, which is what the author of photonstophotos mentions.
But such a strong difference in DD is clearly caused by the mode of operation of the camera and no one except the author will say anything.
(My profession is measurement, but not optics, and ISO standards can only be downloaded for money.)

      • Arkady Shapoval

After rummaging around, I found the answer, filled it out here https://radojuva.com/2021/06/zagadochnaya-fujifilm-finepix-s5-pro-2/

now you shouldn't refer to photonstophotos when talking about dd c5 pro

        • Alexander

          Like "a talk." :)
In my opinion, the point is as follows.
Based on the previous name of photonstophotos, this is Harvard University, Fundamental Research, so the conversation starts with the energy of the photon.
Dxomark is more focused on practical application, its value in a unified methodology for evaluating cameras and their final “parrots”. determined by the three most used subjects can be considered objective.
Interestingly, other than a DSLR, Fiuggi produced bridge cameras and soap boxes with super ssd (esr series, for example).
Are they doing as well with DD?
Maybe some of the colleagues use these, tell about their experience.

        • Alexander

          In pursuit.
Photonstophotos determined the capabilities of the matrix, dxomark-total after calculations, as I understand it.
The modern analogy is the technology of Google, Adobe and others for obtaining high-resolution images from small ones, using an archive of similar ones, for example https://www.dpreview.com/articles/5076032567/we-applied-adobe-super-resolution-to-our-favorite-photos-and-the-results-might-shock-you

  • Neustrdm

    Oh, bury this stewardess back.

    • Arkady Shapoval

      Well, why?

    • Victor

For the note of death, old hag,
driving to the grave and aging:
"Healing" and "Death" are enemy words.
      "Propyatka" and "Life" are comrades.
      Hold the sadness more firmly.
      Chest in grief tide.
      We don't have to whine.

How many emotions does the old woman evoke

  • wj

S5 Pro for sports? Well, perhaps for lovers of sex on skis in a hammock :-)

    • Oleg

At that time, 3-5 frames per second were the norm and somehow managed to shoot sports

      • Victor

        I agree, they are lazy.

Now, if the camera does not have 325 autofocus points and 14fps, then you can't even shoot sports, maybe chess :)

      • Victor

Although in truth, even for its time, the camera was very leisurely. For example, the “popular” canon d4, released 60 years earlier, could already reach 5.4 fps, and the top-end nd2 and the k1d series - up to 8 fps.

The heap in full DD mode can only up to 1.5 fps, which obviously speaks of a studio-landscape orientation from the very beginning.

        • Andrii

          So where to rush?

    • Oleg

The 2006 camera has tenacious autofocus (quote from the review) with 11 focusing points and coped well with dynamic scenes in difficult lighting conditions, well, of course, in working ISO, it will lose to modern cameras. For comparison, the recently discontinued Kenon 6d also had 11 focusing points.

      • wj

The question is: why artificially limit yourself? Is this a kind of masochism? :)
The autofocus of this camera is from Nikon D200, which was certainly good in 2005, but in 2021 its time is long gone. And the D300, and even more so the D500 (if we are talking about the crop), stepped in focus much further. And the sensors are less noisy. For that matter, I would not use a crop for martial arts at all, since a photographer there can often come very close to athletes and use 70-200 / 2.8 on a full frame with a corresponding gain in ISO and / or shutter speed.

And Victor's argument about “getting lazy” is generally complete nonsense, sorry. How are you going to _guaranteed_ to catch the right moment when your camera can only do 1,5 fps? Look at the examples of snapshots in the video - they really do not catch the key moments of the fights almost anywhere, but only some random snapshots that are not of particular value.

        • Arkady Shapoval

Oleg just makes fun of c5 pro, you took it seriously :)

          • Oleg

But the result is obtained, albeit with irony. I'm not just wondering how they used to manage to shoot sports without 325 autofocus points and 14fps as they wrote here, it turns out if you wish, everything is possible

            • Arkady Shapoval

Oh sure. Sometimes it's even more interesting

            • Victor

For example, with all my modest amateur experience, I got successful (in the opinion of unbiased persons) pictures of sports events at 3 ... 5 fps and certainly outdated today 11-point multicam module 1000)))

I think that it will not be difficult for a professional to grab the moment at 1.5 fps, but for this it is certainly boring to be a professional))

        • Victor

wj, with all due respect, but you've clearly forgotten that once people filmed sports events on film, much longer than the entire era of digital photography has existed :-) And they did it even without any autofocus.

No, of course, you can click like a 14k / s machine gunner and then sit at home for a week to choose interesting moments from many thousands of frames, why not, also an option for someone))

          • wj

Victor, well, look at those old pictures and compare them with modern ones. There is heaven and earth both in technical quality and in plot and composition. Take a 30-year-old sports magazine and its 2021 issue and compare. Your eyes will open :)

  • wj

Did anyone watch the video? And then in it, closer to the middle, the author directly says that the S5 Pro is no better than the Canon R5, i.e. there is no need to talk about any "put on the shoulder blades" :)

    • wj

I looked at it - at the end the author himself says that even Nikon D300 is much better for sports and in general modern cameras are more preferable.
      But the clickbait worked! :)

      • Arkady Shapoval

Oleg sneers, makes fun of 1.5 fps for sports

    • Arkady Shapoval

It's about working in lights, where p5 is noticeably worse

    • Victor

Well, in DD, it must be admitted that c5pro still put p5 (and not only her alone) on the shoulder blades, right?))

      • Oleg

And with one movement of the slider

  • Oleg

Found an interesting comparison in color ssd vs cmos https://davidov-art.livejournal.com/44485.html

  • Oleg

I liked the comment: "The color spins endlessly, you can make suuuuuuuuuuuuuperrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr tables decay” on cmos everything will go into acid if you add saturation

    • Zheka

It is possible, but it is not clear why. Saturation is set by the vector scope, so that it can be printed or viewed on different monitors. Endless color acceleration - false colors

  • Jea reth

Recently, the blog has turned into a mixture of a few announcements, which for some reason do not touch the local audience for the soul at all, and gatherings of witnesses to heap, in which holivar campaigns against unbelievers (de facto, ordinary amateurs who quite reasonably do not understand, why in the twenties of our century use the apparatus of fifteen years ago through pain and gnashing of teeth) invariably acquire biblical proportions. Only Rodion diligently dilutes this with reviews of vintage optics, periodically eliminating some historical injustices ...

    • Jea reth

In the meantime, Ricoh has released GR IIIx with the equivalent of a forty on board, about which there is not a word in the blog feed at all.

      • Arkady Shapoval

I do not make announcements of cameras without interchangeable lenses

    • Arkady Shapoval

they have been writing like that for 10 years, recently there were 2 reviews of RF optics and a lot of things are being done, this is all subjective perception

  • Oleg

Arkady encouraged me to a little fetishism, I got out an old Panasonic LZ5 soap dish, which, although not the legendary Fujifilm FinePix S5 Pro, also has a small CCD matrix and decided to see the color rendering in good conditions. This is the picture given by Panas by default

  • Oleg

    Panasonic

Kenon 80d gave a faded picture out of the box
