Comments: 25, on the topic: Announcement: Laowa Argus CF 33mm f / 0.95 APO

  • Oleg

Slightly cheaper than KMZ, $ 500 is not 860, but rather weak.

    • Arkady Shapoval

If you are about 35/2, then it costs 1100+ dollars (that's 860 euros).

    • Victor

But I'll support a domestic manufacturer, gut the pig and buy a manual 35/2 with soapy corners for $ 1100 !!!

      Okay, okay, just kidding.

      • Konstantin

In light of the still available analogs from China, this choice looks even more comical, unfortunately (

  • koba

in fact, this is a cinema lens, so its optical performance will most likely be optimized for wine and video, that is, they will be excellent ... The price for such a lens is moderate.

  • Konstantin

On YouTube, Camera Conspiracies tested this lens and it turned out to be worse than the mitacon f0.95 (the same jongui), which is surprising, because it is cheaper !!!
Moreover, the lava should have much more experience, but such an incident came out ...

    • Rodion

Mitacon is probably not F / 0.95 again? This is something I believe more.

      • Konstantin

By the way, no. He still takes Zeiss optics there (but the truth is they are even more expensive), but she already has a fantastic, ringing sharpness.
        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OuZD5CpQlbY

      • Konstantin

But Mitacon turns out to be stronger than lava, which was also strange for me - it costs less, weighs less. And it shoots better. (Trying to add an image)

        • Michael

LAOV's DOF is clearly less, so is 0.95 in question?

          • Konstantin

In the end, who lied? Laova? youtuber “CameraCospiracyes”? Chinese with Mitacon?
Kmk on tests there Laova - beats Mitacon only with an ideal 50mm focal length in terms of crop factor. And the rest is inferior, which is surprising - given such a price ...

Is there any local expert opinion on this lens? Arkady probably won't take Laova either, when there is an analogue from 7artisans several times cheaper ...

            • Arkady Shapoval

Yes, I do not take them, they are provided to me for review

        • Oleg

If “it costs less, weighs less, and shoots better,” then the matter is in the human factor. In the examples, the focus on the lava has gone back.

      • Konstantin

But Mitacon is already releasing! The third! generation of similar optics ...

        • Rodion

Mitacon has not changed optically for all three generations. And it doesn't seem to be 0.95.

          • Konstantin

It's like in the article where Arkady analyzed 7Artisans f0.95 - and indeed there is much less than the stated 0.95.
Here, as with that Chinese, a similar story. But here you can see that Laova loses to Mitacon, with a higher price and a greater weight of the lens itself ...

            • Andrei

7art, Laova, Mitacon. In this order. f0.95 100%, but T is already 1.2 (according to Arkady). Laova has a fucking picture (even a blowout pattern), but the focus ring is very long there - 270 ° is dofig. Mitacon is sharper, but his drawing is not as awesome as Laova's, but the price for it is unreasonably high. In this case, 7art wins over both - not as sharp as Mitacon, but the drawing is better (including exposure), not such a soft drawing as in Laova, but twisting the ring many times less, well, the price tag is $ 250 or $ 500 and generally $ 600 ... Laova for video will obviously be good.

      • Konstantin

LAOWA Venus Optics is the same Chinese manufacturer, just screwed into marketing and with a lot of experience.
For reference: “Venus Optics is a Chinese lens manufacturer specializing in the development of innovative macro and wide angle lenses. The headquarters and production site are located in Hefei, sales and marketing in Hong Kong and the USA. Wikipedia

I suggest you wait for the full test on phillipreeve.net

    • Konstantin

It seems like Bright Photomarket also snatched this Argus f 0.95 for the test. In the latest news it was played - and promised a test.

  • Konstantin

By this time, several reviews had been published (all on X-mount Fujifilm) - and their results are very contradictory ...
One of the first reviewers launched Camera Conspirasies, where comparing Laowa Argus CF 33mm f / 0.95 APO and Mitakon 35mm f0.95, moreover, Laowa is worse and heavier and sharpness at f0.95 is much less than that of Mitakon, and it costs decent more expensive…
Then a review came out from the Asian Richard Wong, already with a comparison of f0.95 from Mitacon, 7Artisans and Laova - and his situation is exactly the opposite, Laova has less chromatic aberrations, no vignetting, and even sharpness is better than its competitors! It would seem, about a miracle - Laova is still better. Moreover, the comparison is much more detailed than a simple muttering about "this is better - this is worse." And a lot of photo comparisons.
Here are links to reviews from these fellows:

    Camera conspirasies

    Richard Wong

The topic with such high-aperture optics is rather narrow and I have not seen any Russian-language reviews at all. But this is not so bad.
Upon a detailed examination of these reviews, there is only one thing that haunts ... The lens that the authors ultimately recognized as the best - hangs in their referral (affiliate link) to purchase! A moment of venality ...
Who can you possibly trust on the Internet then ?!

    • Rodion

      Radozhive)))

      • Konstantin

Therefore, I am writing) And what do you think? At least theoretically, or about the lens in terms of characteristics, without feeling - is it shameful to draw conclusions?
