  • Novel

EF-weaving is a stunning lens with a serious, "adult" picture, which is directly helped by the stabilizer, which turns it from a macro lens into a universal telephoto lens, including a portrait one.

Interestingly, the size of the front element has been significantly reduced. However, it seems that the edges of this front element of the original lens did not particularly participate in the formation of the image, because the popular Macro attachment - Raynox DCR-250, which is often used in conjunction with it, does not give a noticeable vignette, but it is designed for 52-58 mm, 67 is already the limit. And the Reinox lens itself is about the same size and covers the front element of the EF 100 / 2.8L by about the same.

    Canon 4517C001 tripod foot costs $ 200

    • Novel

I bought a replica and am not complaining. Two pieces of metal, a hinge and a bolt.

  • Jea reth

I still can't shell out for RP, but here it even became interesting.
The rpshke implements a focus stacking system right on board. It would be interesting to evaluate the work of this shnyaga with real mackerels. Does anyone have any experience with this? Maybe the era of f / 32 in static scenes is gone?
I tried to shoot with the old 50 / 2.5 from Canon. It's a bit tight and on such a focal point - you always pinch a hole for the sake of a grip to zero.

    • Novel

Well, there is still bracketing, not staking. Those. the camera from the focusing point takes some pictures in each direction, and all must be glued either in the FSH or in the Canon software. A very bold task for a camera.

But in general it is interesting, i.e. the rails are no longer particularly needed for macro photography, the fotik copes with the task of moving the focus himself and much more accurately. And the support of both makroushniki for EF-S pleased. It's too early to update, but it's already very interesting.

      • Jea reth

Well, or bracketing, without staking, yes - I don't remember exactly, to be honest. I remember that the essence of the function is there.
In general, this is what attracts, that now everything is done without feints with the ears. I just saw the results of this bracketing in normal non-macro scenes with RP. Impressive.
Do you think there is no point in tormenting your wallet for now and it is better to wait for the RP receiver?

        • Novel

Well, I personally will wait for the used one. R6 (well, or a new one in a couple of years - as far as finances allow). I am most interested in the matrix stub + a nice bonus in battery compatibility. Macro bracketing is a wonderful feature, but clearly not enough for the transition. And everything else will be revealed only on new lenses, but they are either not much different, or too expensive. Perhaps, only 800 f / 11 I would take without hesitation in order to expand the range from above.

          • Jea reth

It makes no sense for me to aim at such a thing. For me, the photo is of the “play” category. Expensive toys are cool, but what's the point?
I want to change my 5D to something modern. True, for the fact that, apparently, I ate porridge, obeyed my mother and studied at one grade, I have almost permanent access to a park of top elek in addition to my own. And also pyadwaku, 7D and EOS R. But hottsa is his own and so that brand-new)
For myself, I see an option in RP, because it is small, mirrorless, has a flip-down screen and is made of plastic - I'm tired of struggling with a penny. And here, in addition, such chips creep out, which becomes doubly interesting to me. Fortunately, it’s a matter of several months to skimp on RP.
But I'm just thinking, maybe it's worth waiting for the receiver already?

For hyperteleviki these canon generally want to shake hands. If possible, I would also take it, but rather 600.

            • Novel

Well then RP is just right.

            • Ivan

It does not seem that you studied with only A's. "Successor" is spelled with "e".

              • Novel

They just forgot this word in Russia. BGYYG.

              • Victor

So thin that it is already thick)))

        • Novel

But in general, the opportunity to throw out the rails and shoot with a lens from a tripod can be a great opportunity for a macro shooter or subject. In principle, even overlapping the need to buy some kind of TS-E 90, which is traditionally used for such purposes. It's easier to glue two dozen photos than to move and click with the pens.

    • Seladir

Any Canon camera with custom ML firmware is capable of focus bracketing. You can see the list of supported ones on the website, there are a lot of old and full-frame ones. I really like the result, if your current camera is supported by ML, then try it)
