In this review, I will call the TTArtisan APS-C 50mm F / 1.2 DJ-OPTICAL lens for short. TTArtisan 50 / 1.2.

Notethat the TTArtisan 50 / 1.2 is available with different mounts. This review shows the TTArtisan 50 / 1.2 version for Sony E mirrorless cameras with APS-C sensor. At the same time, the TTArtisan 50 / 1.2 is also available with bayonets Canon EF-M, Fujifilm X and Micro 4/3. UPDATED: TTArtisan 25 / 50 version for Nikon Z mount, Leica L. was released on April 1.2th.

TTArtisan APS-C 50mm F / 1.2 DJ-OPTICAL

TTArtisan APS-C 50mm F / 1.2 DJ-OPTICAL

In short

TTArtisan 50 / 1.2 is a modern high-aperture lens for cropped mirrorless cameras with manual focus. One of the most compact, fast and inexpensive similar fixtures for cameras with an APS-C sensor.

TTArtisan 50 / 1.2 is interesting for its low price, high-quality assembly and a maximum relative aperture of 1: 1.2. The image quality at F / 1.2 is quite weak, but quite suitable for creative amateur photography.

Before the release of TTArtisan 50 / 1.2 and TTArtisan 35 / 1.4 all lenses from TTArtisan were premium solutions and were produced mainly for Leica M mount. One of the most famous lenses of this brand is TTArtisan 50 / 0.95, which is available in black and silver as well as'Silver Black'and'Red Ox 2021 Limited'. It is rather strange to see the appearance of budget lenses from TTArtisan for crop cameras.

TTArtisan 50 / 1.2 performs super budget replacement for autofocus cropped lenses for mirrorless cameras:

  1. Sony 50 / 1.8 OSS (Sony E mount)
  2. Sigma 56 / 1.4 DC DN Contemporary (for Sony E, Canon EF-M, Leica L, Micro 4/3 mounts)
  3. felttrox 56/1.4 (for Sony E, Canon EF-M, Fujifilm X mounts)
  4. yongnuo 50 / 1.8 DA DSM (Sony E mount)
  5. Fujifilm 50/2 XF R WR (Fujifilm X mount)
  6. Fujifilm 50/1 XF R WR (Fujifilm X mount)
  7. Fujifilm 56 / 1.2 XF R (Fujifilm X mount)
  8. Fujifilm 56 / 1.2 XF R APD (Fujifilm X mount)
  9. Olympus 45 / 1.2 PRO (Micro 4/3 system)
  10. Olympus 45 / 1.8 MSC (Micro 4/3 system)
  11. Panasonic 42.5 / 1.2 LEICA (Micro 4/3 system)
  12. Panasonic 42.5 / 1.7 OIS (Micro 4/3 system)

It is difficult to overestimate the creative potential of such fifty dollars. It is suitable for a wide range of photo tasks. Photo enthusiasts often use it as a portrait lens. Many people just want a fast prime, especially in addition to their stock / kit lens. Aperture F / 1.2 more than four steps wider aperture of f / 5.6, which is used in 'dark' kit lenses at the long end. In numerical terms, this means that TTArtisan 50 / 1.2 is approximately 22 times brighterthan, for example, whale lenses Sony 18-55mm f / 3.5-5.6 OSS or Sony 16-50mm f / 3.5-5.6 PZ OSS, which at 50 mm focal length use a maximum aperture equal to only 1: 5.6. The calculation in the difference in the relative aperture (count the luminosity) is carried out in an elementary way: (5.6 * 5.6) / (1.2 * 1.2) = 21.78, which is rounded to the value '22'. (The number of stops between F / 1.2 and F / 5.6 is calculated like this: LOG2 [(5.6 * 5.6) / (1.2 * 1.2)] = 4.44 EV).

I have to point out that the light transmittance of the lens really matches the aperture of f / 1.2 and is at the T / 1.4 value. Also, note that light transmission (real aperture) TTArtisan 50 / 1.2 at f / 1.2 equals the light transmittance of the lens 7Artisans 35 / 0.95 at F / 0.95.

History

TTArtisan 35 / 1.4 was officially presented 6 September 2020 and became the first lens from TTArtisan for cropped mirrorless cameras. Prior to this, TTArtisan produced only full-frame optics (see the list in the section below).

A little bit later, December 18 2020was submitted lens TTArtisan 50 / 1.2 (from this review).

31 May 2021 was introduced TTArtisan 17mm F / 1.4 DJ-OPTICAL ASPH, which formed a trio of lenses for cameras with an APS-C sensor for all occasions (it turned out to be a set EGF 25, 50 and 75 mm).

Price

F / 1.2 is a stop with a tail brighter than the more common F / 1.8 of many other similar lenses, such as the original lens Sony 50 / 1.8 OSS... Moreover, the original Sony 50 / 1.8 OSS costs around $ 350.

TTArtisan APS-C 50mm F / 1.2 DJ-OPTICAL

TTArtisan APS-C 50mm F / 1.2 DJ-OPTICAL

Assembly

The lens came to the review completely new, in its original original packaging. The box contains only the lens itself with front and back covers and a brief instruction. The manual is in Chinese and English and has a warranty sheet at the end. The box that the lens comes in is pretty stylish. The lens in the box is securely mounted with one large foam niche.

The front cover is metal, without latches. The cover is screwed into the thread of the front filter. This method of installing the front protective cover is inconvenient.

Overall, the lens is well assembled. TTArtisan 50 / 1.2 has bayonet mount metal and the lens body itself and the front cover are completely made of metal, using anodized aluminum.

The weight of the TTArtisan 50 / 1.2 lens itself is 340 grams. In the hands, the lens feels like a solid and high-quality thing.

The design is nice, and the lens itself is very compact, well suited for small Sony cameras with an APS-C sensor.

Diaphragm consists of ten petals. The petals are matte. At F / 2-F / 5.6, the aperture has a 'ninja star' shape. The diaphragm can only be controlled manually using a special ring. The diaphragm ring rotates with clicks... The click sound is pleasant. There is one intermediate aperture value between all pairs of numbers (except between F / 1.2 and F / 1.4). The F / 1.2 value is not the most extreme, you can turn the aperture control ring a little more until it stops, for the F / 1.2 value. I would like the end position and the F / 1.2 value to be at the same position. The same goes for the F / 16.

It's important: aperture control ring is located from the front of the lensbehind the focus ring. This arrangement of the diaphragm ring is quite convenient. However, this creates problems with the fact that you can accidentally touch the focusing ring and knock out precise focusing.

Important: the diaphragm control ring has two special protrusions (ears), with the help of which it becomes very easy to control the aperture ring.

TTArtisan APS-C 50mm F / 1.2 DJ-OPTICAL

TTArtisan APS-C 50mm F / 1.2 DJ-OPTICAL

Focusing

The focus ring is narrow, metal, ribbed. The ring rotates on 120 degrees... Focusing is smooth and pleasant, but worse than 7Artisans 35 / 0.95.

During focusing, the trunk of the lens runs forward but does not spin. During focusing, the entire lens block moves.

There is a scale with focusing distance on the ring. There is a depth of field scale. The minimum focusing distance is 50 centimeters, and the maximum magnification ratio is approximately 1: 8.

The TTArtisan 50 / 1.2 has a slight 'Focus Breathing' effect (changing the angle of view while focusing). When focusing towards the MDF, the angle of view decreases.

Focus Shift (change in focusing distance due to aperture) is missing.

Have a hard stop (hard infinity mechanical stop) for fast and accurate focusing in all operating temperatures. But still, the hard stop in this case is sensitive to temperature conditions and should not be hoped for.

Focus picking with TTArtisan 50 / 1.2 and Sony a3500 works well at F / 1.2.

TTArtisan APS-C 50mm F / 1.2 DJ-OPTICAL

TTArtisan APS-C 50mm F / 1.2 DJ-OPTICAL

Image quality

At covered apertures, the TTArtisan 50 / 1.2 easily handles a 20 megapixel APS-C sensor Sony a3500... At the same time, the planar TTArtisan 50 / 1.2 scheme gives its own peculiar picture.

Sharpness

  1. F / 1.2 lens is weak in terms of resolution
  2. the situation changes significantly with aperture cover up to F / 2.0
  3. there is a slight drop in sharpness to the edges and corners of the frame, but even in the far corners of the frame at F / 1.2 the lens is doing well
  4. weak coma
  5. the lens degrades its optical characteristics when focusing towards the MDF. The best detail is observed at long and medium focusing distances.

Distortion

  1. there is a very small barrel distortion
  2. distortion is unified, easy to edit in the editor

Vignetting

  1. weak vignetting on f / 1.2
  2. vignetting decreases with focus towards MDF. Most noticeable when focusing on infinity
  3. vignetting almost completely disappears at F / 2.0
  4. vignetting easily fixable in the editor
  5. the lens almost covers the full frame (but you can't get rid of the black corners). Example 1 at F / 16 and focusing at infinity. Example 2 at F / 16 and focusing on MDF

Aberration

  1. there is a noticeable amount of chromatic aberration
  2. there is a noticeable frigging (the color of contrasting elements in the out-of-focus area is purple or green)

Rest

  1. on covered apertures, it is difficult to achieve a beautiful effect of a 10-ray star (example on f / 16)
  2. from bright light sources you can get noticeable amount of glare
  3. bokeh interesting
  4. at apertures F / 2-F / 8, you can get discs of confusion in the form of ninja stars (there is an example of a photo with pronounced stars in the gallery)
  5. lemons (cat's eyes) in bokeh

Important: At the time of writing this review, there was no TTArtisan 50 / 1.2 profile for popular RAW converters. You can create a profile yourself or wait for its release.

My experience

I can safely recommend the TTArtisan 50 / 1.2 to anyone looking for an inexpensive creative high-aperture versatile lens for their mirrorless crop camera.

I expected much better performance from the TTArtisan 50 / 1.2 at F / 1.2. In general, at F / 1.2 it is inferior 7Artisans 35 / 0.95 at F / 0.95. By the way, by management 7Artisans 35 / 0.95 is also more comfortable and enjoyable. 7Artisans 55 / 1.4 at F / 1.4 is also slightly sharper than the TTArtisan 50 / 1.2 at F / 1.2, work with 7Artisans 55 / 1.4 also more convenient. True, and 7Artisans 55 / 1.4and 7Artisans 35 / 0.95 are significantly more expensive.

When choosing between 7Artisans 55 / 1.4 and TTArtisan 50 / 1.2 I would stop at 7Artisans 55 / 1.4 due to less MDF and a smoother and more pleasant focusing ring.

On the Internet, I have come across opinions that the TTArtisan 50 / 1.2 is the best lens of 2020 (the year in which it was introduced). But still at F / 1.2 he is not good enough to give him such a title. If I awarded the 2020 Lens Price / Quality Award, then in the category of lenses for cropped mirrorless cameras it would go to the autofocus Yongnuo 50 / 1.8 (announced April 2020).

Alternatives

Similar manual focus lenses and similar aperture not much for mirrorless crop cameras with an APS-C sensor. Alternatively, I would point out the following options:

  1. KamLan 50/1.1 (for E, X, EF-M, M4 / 3 mounts)
  2. KamLan 50 / 1.1 Mark II (for E, X, EF-M, M4 / 3 mounts)
  3. Samyang 50 / 1.2 AS UMC CS (for E, X, EF-M, M4 / 3 mounts)
  4. Voigtlander 42./0.95 (Micro 4/3 system)
  5. Voigtlander 60 / 0.95 (Micro 4/3 system)
  6. Do you know any other similar high-aperture lenses for cropped mirrorless cameras? Please indicate them in the comments, I will add them to the list (with an aperture F <= 1.2 and a focal length around 50 mm).

Video review

My short video review on TTArtisan 50 / 1.2 can be viewed on Youtube here.

Results

TTArtisan 50 / 1.2 has a good price / quality ratio. Optical has some problems, mechanical is good enough. For amateur photographers, it must be a wonderful creative lens. Given the low cost, I can safely recommend the TTArtisan 50 / 1.2 to anyone looking for a similar lens.

10 main advantages

  1. low price tag (total about 80-90 dollars)
  2. maximum aperture F / 1.2 (very high aperture with real T-steps around T / 1.4)
  3. good build quality: the lens barrel is completely made of metal, including a metal bayonet mount and a metal front cover
  4. smooth focus ring, 120 degree ring travel
  5. ten aperture blades
  6. the aperture control ring is located in front of the lens, which is very convenient, there are special tabs-ears that make it easier to work with this ring
  7. the aperture ring rotates with pleasant clicks (convenient for photographers, not very convenient for videographers)
  8. nice design, there is a depth of field scale, focusing distance scale
  9. good sharpness in the center of the frame starting from F / 2.0
  10. nice bokeh

10 main disadvantages

  1. focus ring narrow, metal
  2. while setting the desired aperture, you can accidentally lose the set focusing distance
  3. no CPU pins to form the correct EXIF
  4. the aperture is poorly rounded at F / 2-F / 5.6 (resulting in ninja stars)
  5. A threaded (non-bayonet) hood must be used, no hood included
  6. the front cover without latches, must be screwed into the thread of the front light filter, which is rather inconvenient
  7. there is no lens profile for popular RAW converters, the lens is not 'hardwired' into modern cameras
  8. the very old optical scheme of the classic Planar 7/5 is taken as a basis
  9. backlight glare
  10. poor resolution at F / 1.2

Comments: 66, on the topic: TTArtisan APS-C 50mm F / 1.2 DJ-OPTICAL review

  • Michael

    "The same goes for 7Artisans 55 / 1.4." - In the sense that 55 / 1.4 is also more comfortable, or is it 50 / 1.2?

    • Arkady Shapoval

yes, 55 / 1.4 is more comfortable, its focusing ring is just perfectly smooth and wide. The 50 / 1,2 only has a more comfortable aperture for snapshots. What to choose? 50 / 1.2 or 55 / 1.4? I would end up settling for 55 / 1.4. I rewrote the text in the review so that it does not raise questions, thanks.

  • Koba

Dear Arkady, glasses with a high refractive index are highlighted in blue in the optical scheme, the so-called. High Refractive Glass. This is openly written on the websites of the manufacturer in China. By the way, his famous 50 / 1.4 lkz Leica, which Ken Rockwell gave a higher rating than his own from Lake, all lenses are made of just such glass. So you can add to the review, I'm going to buy this lens myself in China. Another tattooed reviewer - Ken Wheeler (a very educated person, and not only in photography) named it “the best buy for the Fujifilm system”, other reviews claim the same. I called the companies and they told me that they produced about 55000 lenses for the first time based on pre-orders from dealers, but about 80% is calculated for the domestic Chinese market. And, of course, many thanks for the review.

    • Arkady Shapoval

Thank you for the review. I saw his materials, his opinion is also important

  • Vadim

Arkady, are 7artisan and Ttartisan different firms?

    • Arkady Shapoval

yes, different. They ask me to strictly separate them and not confuse one with the other, and also ask me to indicate this in their reviews. But, personally, I assume that optics are made at the same factories or have some related parts of production. DJ-OPTICAL alone on TTArtisan lens (without 's') and 7Artisans (with 's' at the end) is worth something.

      • Andrei

It's as obvious as Toyota and Lexus, like Honda and Acura, Nissan and Infinity ...

      • Vadim

Thanks for the answer, they themselves caused confusion, you might think they came up with the names at the same time and independently of each other😄🙄. Tell me, if we compare with the new Chinese the old half-tines 1.4 of the end of the manual era, Nikkor, Canon fd, minolta, then what will be better on the open?

        • Arkady Shapoval

These are all the same Planars 50 / 1.4. Fundamentally nothing new. Old fifty dollars for DSLRs, and new Chinese for mirrorless cameras. At F / 1.4, this TTartisan will be no worse than the mirrored oldies of the manual era. Only expensive manuals like Zeiss Planar 50 / 1.4, 50 / 1.7 will be noticeably better, but the price tag there is completely different. After the release of very cheap fixes for cropped mirrorless cameras like 7Artisans 55 / 1.4, TTartisan 50 / 1.2, and various modifications 35 / 1.2, 35 / 1.4 from all sorts of Neewer, Brightin Star, PerGear, Andoer, Kaxinda, Lightdow, Risespray makes sense in old full-frame SLR 50/55/58 / 1.4 remains only when used on SLR cameras.

  • Fedor

Hello Arkady! What is sharper in your opinion on the open, this lens or the 35 1.4 of the same company?

    • Arkady Shapoval

      35/1,4

  • Victor

In general, this miracle of Chinese folk craft arrived, a miracle in a good way, because I was pleasantly surprised both by the build quality (nothing backlash, no dangling, the bayonet sits like a glove, it is snapped perfectly, everything spins smoothly), and the performance on an open diaphragm. I would even say that on crop with f / 1.2 it is not inferior (!) To the native 50 / 1.8G with f / 1.8. I can admit that due to the extremely low cost, both successful copies and not very good ones come across, as a result of not too careful selection at the output of production. Thank you, Arkady, for pushing this option (despite not too flattering estimates).

Special thanks to Rodion for his tip with knightx, the filters are really good, the enlightenment is present with a green tint, in the first approximation there is no glare, no reduction in contrast in contrast, and this is at the cost of cheap Chinese junk from Russian retailers like flama or rekam.

    • Arkady Shapoval

      thanks for the tip

  • Denis

I ordered this lens, I want to compare it with another popular Chinese Kamlan 50mm f1.1. I have a second version of Kamlan'a which is much better than the first. It would also be interesting to compare with the first version, but I don't have it. Although judging by the reviews, the picture is already approximately clear - the second Kamlan will most likely be better optically, but it is almost three times more expensive, as well as larger and heavier. But the first Kamlan is a direct competitor to this TTArtisan, although, again, it is almost one and a half times more expensive. In terms of image quality, perhaps the first Kamlan will merge, based on what I read about him.

    • Arkady Shapoval

      Thanks, we're waiting :)

    • Serg

how did you buy it? will there be a review? :)

  • Novel

Tell me if this lens with a micro 4/3 mount through an adapter is put on a sony nex, will the focal length change or other problems arise?

    • Arkady Shapoval

As far as I know, there are no Micro 4/3 adapters on the Sony E. But if they do, then nothing will change.

  • Arkady Shapoval

UPDATE: On April 25, the TTArtisan 50 / 1.2 version was released for Nikon Z, Leica L. mount.

  • Sergei

I do not understand why to upload pictures and not write on them on what apertures sfotkano?
what is this review after that?

    • Arkady Shapoval

Review of the lens without microprocessor contacts, not limiting the EXIF value to the camera. Well, if that calms you down, then in video review most of the same photos with comments about aperture :)

  • Victor

    Dear photographers!

Please tell a novice amateur photographer which high-aperture lens to choose for the Nikon Z50 crop. I'm going to buy an inexpensive Z mount on alika, and now I'm choosing between this new TTArtisan APS-C 50mm F / 1.2 and Nikon AF Nikkor 50mm 1: 1.8D https://radojuva.com/2010/12/obzor-otzuv-nikkor-50mm-nikon/

The main goal is to get a fast prime lens (albeit a boo), without autofocus (I did not plan to take the FMZ adapter yet) up to $ 100 for portrait shots, street photography and maybe a little landscape.

Perhaps there are other, better options?

    • Ivan

How are you going to mount Nikon AF Nikkor 50mm 1: 1.8D without FTZ adapter? What's the point of taking the Z50 and saving on lenses? If we take Z-cameras, then it is logical to take Z-lenses to them.

      • Victor

2Ivan, there are only two kitosums for crop lenses at Z50. To shell out for a full-frame ... Well, that. The carcass itself is good, but the lack of optics, the manufacturer drives sales into the minus.

        • Ivan

I know. For me, the Z50 is basically uninteresting. If we take the Z for amateur purposes, then the Z6 II is better.

          • Victor

For amateur purposes, the z5 is better.

      • Victor

In principle, I can live without autofocus, I want to learn how to do it manually. And paying 6k + UAH for FTZ does not seem to smile.

Instead of FTZ, I found https://aliexpress.ru/item/4000166086172.html for 700 UAH

        • Ivan

You still don't get the point. FTZ adapter - not for autofocus. The Nikon AF Nikkor 50mm 1: 1.8D has an F mount, and the Z50 has a Z mount. These are different mounts, with different sizes, you physically cannot mount this lens without an FTZ adapter.

Apparently, you have no system and no lens park. You are now choosing a system. At the same time, you want to save money. But the Z50 isn't the cheapest. If you need a BZK crop, then the Canon M50 is a good option. I understand that in this case you will not have such a large selection with lenses, but it is already half the price.

          • Victor

“FTZ adapter - not for autofocus”. Why else? Just for autofocus, but on G lenses, on the D-series, autofocus will not work as expected, well, the world does not end on D, right?

“You cannot physically install this lens without an FTZ adapter” - that is why, right in the message above, he indicates: “Instead of FTZ, I found https://aliexpress.ru…. for 700 UAH "

“But the Z50 is not the cheapest” - yes

“Not a bad option is the Canon M50. I understand that in this case you will not have so much choice with lenses ”- but here you will not. The choice with lenses, on the contrary, will expand, since an elementary Chinese adapter EF-S… EF-M for $ 20, unlike the noticeably more expensive Nikon FTZ, will allow you to install almost the entire spectrum of EF autofocus optics, which is much more interesting.

            • Novel

All native EF / EF-S, all native EF-M plus a wide range of non-native optics, but with a native mount.

Although I would not recommend it anyway. I can still play with my EFs in something small, if necessary, but I would not take the first camera, the system is dead.

            • Novel

On the other hand, man has already clothed himself in the torment of not just a dead, but a stillborn system.

        • Victor

"In principle, I can live without autofocus, I want to learn manual"

Today, you can learn about manual autofocus in about the same way as at the end of the 20th century, from a car with an internal combustion engine to a horse-drawn vehicle. For a variety of leisure, no more)) If it is possible to use autofocus, it is better to do this (does not apply to shirikov and especially super-wide, there autofocus is like a dog's fifth leg)

    • Victor

At 1.8 d, you will not have autofocus on ftz, so there is not much loss))

And so when choosing from two of course ttartisan, just a fire lens, quite suitable from 1.2, and 1.4 generally a razor))) the main thing is to get into focus (which is not easy)

      • Victor

        Thanks for the advice!

  • Dmitry Trogloditus

Despite my skepticism about all Chinese lenses, I tried a lot of them. As for the fifty and fifty dollars, the TTArtisan 50 / 1.2 is the only one that can be proudly called a lens. The rest are noticeably weaker, including 7 Partisans 55 / 1.4. But this one is really good. At 2.0, it is better than all budget full-frame Germans and Japanese, not to mention the Soviet ones (I have a 2.0 crop and full-frame ones give out frankly weak results there). This one is tailored for such a matrix and is really very good. On 1.2 it is suitable for a portrait, and on the female one you also have to reduce the detailing programmatically. But at 1.2-1.4 it is fairly chromatite on contrasting objects. With 2.0 it is suitable for any scenes that interfere with the frame :))) Sharpness will be more than enough and blurring of out-of-focus areas will be present. 1.8 is a compromise, it is still noticeably chromatite on it, but it is already decently sharp - it is better not to shoot very contrasting ones. That works badly in the short zone - I confirm. It is better for them not to shoot a small object, he needs at least a meter and a half to the object. But taking pictures of people with them is a pleasure. And from the process and from the result. The lens is very nice, tactilely good quality and smooth. Heavy and old-school and “honest”, without these electronic profiles-enhancers - he draws with glass.

    • Victor

Dmitry, I can only support you. Everything to the point, great lens. It would still have autofocus, the price would not have been (more precisely, it would have been three or four times higher), but it does not matter for unhurried setting. It's hard to shoot a fast child))

      • Dmitry Trogloditus

I don’t think that autofocus “shines” on a lens with such characteristics. Here focusing by moving the entire lens unit, and it is heavy as a weight. It's one thing to drive one or two light lenses inside the circuit, and another thing to move this colossus back and forth. There, the engine will be needed as from a car :)))))) And even if by some miracle it succeeds, such autofocus will definitely not be fast, as well as accurate.

      • Dmitry Trogloditus

And this lens has another strange feature. He does not like cloudy weather. I don't know how this can be explained, but under dim, low-contrast lighting, it chromatitis is much more noticeable than under bright sun or when shooting at night. In bright sun - naturally with a polar. For example, daytime photos from the summer Crimea with a hole of 1.8-2.0 look great, there is no noticeable chromatism. At night around bright lights, even at 1.2, nothing critical is observed. But in autumn and spring cloudy photos at 1.8-2.0, when everything is gray and low-contrast, blue-green and purple edging is hellishly climbing, which is extremely difficult to cope with even in Lightroom from RAV. And at 1.2-1.4 it is generally non-working under such lighting conditions - hellish chromatism. So, with low-contrast lighting, you have to use Mikrozuyka 45 / 1.8

  • Snap

For the last comment from Dmitry Trogloditus, I would like to ask which camera was your picture taken with? Well, what aperture, please?

    • Passing

the photo you are interested in was taken on Olympus Pen F, iso200 1/250
all this can be seen if you look at the EXIF photo by downloading it, or using the ExifViewers application for Chrome

      • Victor

What, and the diaphragm used is visible?

    • Dmitry Trogloditus

Fotik -Olympus Pen-F, hole 1.8, most likely there was a polarizing filter (I usually do not take off without it during the day, it also allows you to use the aperture open - instead of neutral gray)

  • Eugene

Dear Arkady and everyone who reads this forum! Of all the Chinese brands, which one to choose!? Interested in fifty dollars on Fujifilm XE-1,2,3, etc .. The priority is of course sharpness and color! ))
Pergear, TTArtisan, 7Artisans, Meike, etc. Which one to give preference to!? On Avito we sold 7Artisans in a box, almost new! But it is alarming that people buy and then sell soon!

    • B. R. P.

All these ... brands are similar in the picture, in my opinion. There are reviews here, see which one you like. I think people sell because not everyone can master the manual trick.

      • Eugene

Yes? )) I didn’t think about it. We had a girl selling. She said that she could not master it!
But personally, I like TTArtisan more, and I will give preference to it!

        • Victor

You can master the manual, it is not difficult.

Another question is that the convenience of manual focusing, especially for chaotically moving targets, is highly questionable.

        • Dmitry Trogloditus

Because the lens is capricious, it demands “respect”.

Firstly, it is heavy and yet without zoom.
Secondly, all the "tsYfirki" will have to be placed with your hands - not all blondes and categories equated to them are able to do this (and do not want to be able, which is typical))))
Thirdly, the focusing ring travel is quite short, and the depth of field on wide holes is very small, which requires almost sniper concentration and surgical accuracy. Many also have problems with this.
Well, and a cherry on top - the focusing ring is not grippy and even perfect focusing easily gets lost even if you inadvertently remove your fingers from it, especially when it's cold outside.
All this makes photography for some people a living hell, and they get rid of the lens.

          • Victor

Focusing on stationary targets, when there is nowhere to rush, what complaints can there be about the manual? As I say, the lens itself is an excellent lens, but if it had autofocus too ... No, then it would have become too good))) Sugary-sweet, this is also bad))

      • Eugene

        Thanks for your feedback!

        • B. R. P.

          Please.

    • Arkady Shapoval

      Take autofocus Viltrox

      • Eugene

So it is three times more expensive! That's the catch! ))

        • Eugene

Or even four or five! Then it's better to take your own fujinon!

          • Victor

Viltrox is approximately 3,5 times more expensive than ttartizan.

Fuji is three times more expensive than viltrox.

If the difference in price is 7 (!!) ttartisans 50 / 1.2 for you some trifle, of course it is better to take your own fujinon :)))

            • Eugene

For me, fujinon and wiltrox are all one !!! ))))

              • Victor

In this case, all the more there is no reason to choose a much more expensive fujinon, and if you suddenly have extra funds, give them to me :-)

  • Eugene

If you do not understand anything, re-read my posts! Just carefully!

    • Victor

I realized that a little more than three days ago you still doubted between several Chinese brands, not knowing which budget manual to give preference to, and now you know for sure that it is probably best to take a 56mm fujifilm :-) So take, why pull the rubber? )

    • Andrii

Whoa, what a mysterious patient. Right now, everyone will rush straight to re-read your writings.
Next time you ask for advice, and you may be unexpectedly sent.

  • Vitalij

Having bought the whole asset on Aliexpress on the sale for the recommendation of the whole article statty for $ 83. The setting was 2 types. On his own penny ob'yktiv even more non-falsification, you can say - monsters.
I am giving a sample photo, I will send a sample for a sample, and I will use a Nikon z1,2 camera to make a package for 50 diaphragms. A portrait can be misleading. Focus on focus-picking correct.

  • Evgenii

You can also purchase from an authorized dealer in the Russian Federation: https://ttartisan.ru/
Always in stock and with fast delivery

    • Victor

Nice try, Evgeny Sanych, but no.
Ali is also always in stock, delivery is a couple of weeks, but free, unlike yours, and lenses are noticeably cheaper. For example, a subject on Ali is 7600 (there are also coupons, you can take it for 7) you have 9500 plus delivery.

  • Novel

Apparently the build quality of the lenses is still very different from one to another. I recently purchased this lens on SonyE, immediately tested it a bit. The center of the frame, even at open f1.2, is surprisingly sharp, the upper corners of course lose detail, but they are quite suitable for this price category, but the lower corners, and the bottom of the frame in general, it's just ... .. UG. On the right, not like the corner, almost 1/3 of the frame in the soap. Aperture to f5,6 only slightly improves the situation, the bottom of the frame and the lower corners are still in soap. I compared it with the I-61 (not LD), in terms of contrast and sharpness in the center of the card, the I-61, of course, merges with the Chinese, even being at f4 (and the Chinese at f1,2), but the overall uniformity across the frame of the I-61 is unambiguous better even in the open, not to mention f5,6. Yes, with the same aperture values with the I-61, the Chinese gives a slower shutter speed. And, yet, when focusing to infinity, there is a “flight” i.e. when you rotate the focus ring all the way to infinity, you have to turn back a little. In general, a double impression, I even wanted to send it back, since it was an obvious marriage, I think the lenses (lens) were installed crookedly, but left it. For portraits, the edges are not so important, but the center is still excellent. I am attaching a photo test at f2.8

    • Dmitry Trogloditus

Yes, this is unfortunately the case. Lens distortions are simply monstrous. But these are at least the “hand-assed” Chinese. But when such a thing is found on Sigma, which is many times more expensive - here, as they say, it was a shame ...
As for your Chinese, you can try to stretch it. That is, disassemble the lens block, blow out and clean all the evil spirits from the seats, and assemble it back by carefully installing the lenses and tightening all the rings well (but without fanaticism). If it was assembled crookedly, it should help, albeit at the cost of dust collected between the lenses. And if the mandrels themselves are crooked - well, then to the morgue :((((

      • Novel

Yes, I thought about that too. I suppose that there is nothing complicated in it, and I also have a “ballerina” .... But, I have a photo for the soul, and not for work, so for my portraits it seems to have gone, on the open edge and so blurry. If you clamp up to 8, then it’s quite suitable, this jamb is almost not noticeable. Although, I’ll be on vacation in the winter and maybe I’ll take it apart, clean it, if I manage to at least partially remove the warp, it will be an excellent lens without any “buts”

  • Dmitry Trogloditus

    PS
I just had 7 Chinese Guerrillas 55 / 1.4 with such a problem. I sorted it out and extended it. The misalignment of the optical axis disappeared, dust particles appeared inside ... I even shot them for more than a year until I tried this TTartizan. I sold the previous one - they bought it right away, despite my horror stories that I was taking it apart. He gave the buyer a day to drive, he did not find anything wrong with him and bought it. So worth a try. Or give it to the workshop and explain the problem - they will definitely sort it out and check it normally.
