    goodbye DSLRs. ((

    • Boris

Well, it was already seven or eight years ago to realize that a "skiff" comes to DSLRs. Even then, it was clear that the flaws and imperfections of mirrorless cameras would not exist forever. It is a matter of time and the development of new technologies. In ten years, SLR cameras will be in use among older amateur photographers; the entire professional world will move away from SLR cameras, and the amateur to a greater extent too.

      • hk

But they still exist, and most likely will exist for a long time, just for the majority they are not critical.

      • Igor

Well, in general, an amateur one will go much faster, because nowadays amateur DSLRs are almost never released anymore. But the professional is unlikely.

Now on the secondary market, cameras such as Nikon D3 / D3s / D700 are still in great demand, and they are already 13-14 years old. Because they can still offer what new ones at the same price point cannot. Obviously, they are not bought by amateurs). And it's even more obvious that current DSLR flagships like the Nikon D6 and Canon 1DX III will still be in demand ten years from now. The photography industry has long since experienced its peak, which means that it will not develop at the same pace.

        • Sergei

          > amateur DSLRs are now almost never released anymore

However, Nikon has almost all new hobbyist SLR cameras. Only expensive Z70 and Zfc belong to the UPC.

          • Victor

            What are they new?

The D3500 was released more than three years ago, the D5600 is already five years old.

Nikon (quite obviously) amateur mirror crop quietly buried

            • Arkady Shapoval

yes, the d5600 was released back in 2016 and will never be updated again, like the d3500. It's still good that Nikon somehow became generous and released a professional 16-80 under a crop

              • Eugene o

                D5600 has already been discontinued

            • Sergei

Three years, five years - but Nikon still hasn't released a mirrorless replacement for them. Therefore, if you go to the store, the new budget cameras from Nikon will be SLR.

              • Victor

Why do you think that it will be, this replacement? You can look at the example of Sonya, which completely got rid of the budget line of its UPC, and nothing.
Many (who bought d3xxx) are now satisfied with the quality of a smartphone, which began to shoot much better than 10 years ago, and manufacturers understand this.

      • Eugene

Older amateur photographers have long acquired mirrorless cameras. Moreover, it is easier to focus on them with the old non-autofocus optics.

  • Victor

    For the super-pro, that's it!

    • Lynx

      waiting for approval from super-pro, mega-pro, poly-pro and pro Minkowski !!!!! 111111111

      • Oleg

        And novice professionals

  • Oleg

There are a lot of rumors on the network about Canon eos R1 by the way

  • Oleg

In any case, Nikon will have exactly the camera for which Sony will allocate a matrix to him.

    • Trueash

      >> for which Sony will allocate a matrix to him - or Toshiba. Or Towerjazz

      • Boris

In general, the NIKON company is very mysterious and contradictory, like a woman. The logic of her actions and ideas cannot be traced. Often the results of her activities are astonishing and sometimes even furious. No, they produce a quality product, but the line of development is not at all explained by simple common sense. And the constant borrowing of other people's matrices, for example, causes great bewilderment. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND!..

        • Oleg

Especially when it comes to the dust and moisture resistance of lenses, she is also a mysterious woman.

        • Ivan

Boris, Nikon never had his own matrices. Like many other manufacturers. Matrix production is very expensive. It can only be allowed with large volumes and a practical monopoly on production. It's the same with OLED TVs. They are made only by LG, and the rest of the companies put their "strapping" on their matrices. And it's the same in the automotive industry. In the best case, the company itself produces engines and a gearbox, and the rest is a composite hodgepodge of other brands, mainly BOSCH.

          • Igor

            Nikon D3100 D3200 D4 D4s Df D2h D2hs.

            • Aries

              + D3-Nikon NC81338L CMOS full frame sensor + D3s

              • Igor

Or Matsushita, according to the site owner.

            • Ivan

Nikon sensors (NC81338L, NC81361A, NC81362A, NC81366W and NC81369R) were only designed by Nikon engineers, and Renesas was directly involved in their production. I suspect that Nikon never had his own matrix production. And place an order for spare parts or even a finished product under your logo and. With branded colors can be used in almost any production.

            • Ivan

Here is a text from Chipworks 10 years ago:
Nikon have announced that they designed the sensor. Nikon has no wafer fabrication capability so they outsource the sensor production, but they are keeping the foundry close to their chests, so close that we must speculate to identify the source. The obvious choice would be Sony, who build the sensor used in the Nikon D2X, however there are no Sony markings on the device, and the device structure is markedly different from the other Sony CIS we have analyzed. We considered Matsushita / Panasonic the device structure has similarities to the Panasonic CIS we have seen, but it is sufficiently different that we have doubts that it is theirs. Thus we are speculating who else could be the manufacturing source. I believe Nikon would stick with a Japanese foundry. An interesting possibility is Renesas, they have close ties with Nikon, supplying several imager processor chipsets, they have a patent portfolio in image sensors indicating they have active r + d in this field, and they have the fab capabilities.

            • Sergei

And at DF and D4, wasn't Sony a manufacturer? Of course, I'm not saying, but it seems like there was Nikon's development and Sony's manufacturer, and as if then there was a discussion that Sony does not know how to make matrices for itself, tk. in A7s 12MP matrix is noisier than 16MP in D4 / DF. I remember something like that.
              …but it is not exactly.

              • Ivan

Personally, I believe that only Sony has always produced matrices. And other “manufacturers” simply made an order for Sony's production. But no one admits this. Firstly, it is a trade secret, and secondly, the Eastern Japanese mentality. They will never tell the truth if it is not profitable for them.
And for the D850, the story is the same - they said that the matrix was its own, Nikon's, and then it quickly became clear that Nikon's engineers simply took part in the development, and Sony produced it.
Well, yes, Nikon does better electronic and software binding of matrices than even Sony herself, therefore the result on the same matrices is different. I will repeat once again about OLED TV matrices. Only LG produces them, and Sony and Panas buy and make their own harness. At the same time, although LG TVs are not bad, Panas TVs are the reference ones and take the first places in the tests.

            • Arthur

The D3200 has a Toshibov matrix.

        • Victor

And what is there incomprehensible? Naive people - do you think that Nikon is the photo industry? As if not so! Nikon is a defense industry! And he will not “starve”, and he is not going to die. Partially reoriented to another product ...

          • Dim

Yes, I also read an article on some English site about Nikon devices for the military and even saw one such on eBay. They probably won't be allowed to die. Besides, they seem to make equipment for printing microcircuits?

      • Koba

Sony bought the sensor division from Toshiba a long time ago, and TowerJazz was sold to Panasonic by some Taiwanese company, it is likely that Nikon will use sensors from TowrJazz in its top-end cameras, since they have always produced better sensors, but more expensive and smaller circulations.

    • wj

Please do not need these regular inventions about dormouse, which, as if, would not select matrices for Nikon. Sensors are manufactured by Sony Semiconductor, and cameras are manufactured by Sony Imaging. These are different companies, even if they are part of the same conglomerate. If Sony Semiconductor sold its best sensors only to a sister company, it would lose the opportunity to cash in on other customers.

And it looks like a DSLR, what's the point of making a mirrorless camera like this? BZ for that and take that they are small, and this is the format of the flagships .. in short, I xs, in my opinion Nikon turned to the wrong steppe ..

    • Oleg

UPC is no longer small ergonomics have prevailed over show-offs. In terms of lenses, if prime lenses are slightly smaller than their mirror counterparts, then with zooms this does not go away from here and the abundance of zooms with aperture of 6.3-7.1 at the long end. Due to the large size, the problem of overheating can be solved when shooting video in 8k, for example

    • Seladir

And now they will be taken, because, for example, they have better autofocus.
To understand what revolution you have missed in recent years, take the Canon 90D - an advanced DSLR that also has the best at that time in a mirrorless (live view) plan. As a result, it turns out that tracking autofocus works better in LV, since seeing an object with its borders by the matrix and “dimly” feeling it with scattered phase sensors is not the same thing. Yes, the relatively high-resolution metering matrix allows you to even detect faces, but it cannot keep up with the main matrix, which nowadays allows you to determine the eyes of animals.
And this gap will only widen as the processor power and algorithms become more intelligent.

      • Oleg

Eye autofocus is the main advantage of the UPC Arkady wrote about this.

      • Alexey

for reference. the exposure metering matrix “saw” faces on the “ones”, where a separate digic was used to process data from such a matrix. so nothing new))

        • Seladir

I know this, and the 90D is just an example of the fact that within the framework of one camera the mirror entity is at the limit and there is nothing to improve there except purely increasing the focus points, while the mirrorless component turned out to be ahead. And it just seems absurd to me that if you want advanced AF through the Canon's crop viewfinder, you have to be content with the inconvenient M6 II / M50. The mirrorless 90D is asking for it.

          • Alexander

            Analog 90d is canon m5

    • Ivan

Victor, you do not understand. This is a professional camera instead of the D6. This is not for amateurs. It's just that the mirror has already outlived its own and will no longer be used in cameras.

    • Sergei

Why like a DSLR. Does a DSLR look like what? And what should the top BZK look like then?
UPC is also taken because it is an UPC with all the advantages and disadvantages. It looks more or less by the way, z6 and z7 somehow did not come to me. Today, the ZK has only a few narrow areas where they have some advantages, and so the BZK is the modern norm of life. Large selection for any size and functionality. And the fact that they are bought for being small - hardly. Read how many buckets of faeces were poured on the forums about their ergonomics, up to the third brands. Until now, I would not seriously advise sleepyheads to anyone.

    • Andrei

      here's a 2019 medium format mirrorless, compact ;-)

      • Sergei

By the way, it looks cheap, maybe because of the gray color. These virtual wheels on the screen also take away the high cost. Looks like some kind of Chinese toy.

  • Alexander

How can photographers who shoot every day and look a lot at an LCD screen instead of a living mirror and spoil their eyes? Some kind of indescribable nonsense! Yes, the capitalists no longer know how to increase sales, because in the world the overproduction of cameras and cameras, including the pros, already have everyone who needs them! Therefore, they first come up with mirrorless cameras to somehow increase sales of something, and then what, when they fall again? Cameras that will transmit the viewfinder image to the chip that was hammered into the photographer's brain with a hammer? Some kind of nonsense is happening! In our city, wedding photographers still shoot with Nikon D80 and Canon 350 - 400 and take normal photos at the same time! And they don't need to spend money on new cameras just because some capitalists want it! They are just making money for their living! And this despite the fact that these wedding photos are viewed only once a day after the wedding, and then, in general, people may not look at them at all in their entire lives! What's the point of dumping a lot of money for a stuffed photographer who is not a photographer in fact, but a Nutcracker? it is better to spend this money for the benefit of the family! Where can I find statistics on who is buying these cameras and how many are there? I am sure that there is a maximum of 0,1 percent of the total number of all people who are photographers or who think they are photographers!

    • Arkady Shapoval

I'm wondering if the d80 and 350d-400d users are given a modern z9 with a 24-70 / 2.8 station wagon - how many percent would refuse it and stay to shoot exclusively at d80 or 350d-400d? try to answer.

Also, about EVI - a matter of habit. Here's an argument for you to think about: videographers (including professional ones) have been using EVI for a long time and do not bother.

As for the cost of such cameras - all units (that is, Nikon D1, D2, D3, D4, D5, D6) have always cost a lot of money and nobody was embarrassed, because this is an instrument. A good tool comes at a price. Moreover, many such cameras go to agencies (that is, they are bought not by photographers, but by corporations / companies, etc.).

Technological progress cannot be stopped. Previously, similar posts were encountered about film or autofocus, now about DSLRs. It is not always easy to adapt to new things, photographers are rather conservative.

      • Alexander

I can answer you this question! If you give out a modern Z9 c 24-70 and free of charge, then no one would refuse it and start filming with it, including me! Once a year, I would take pictures of flowers and a vacation at the sea! I use cameras exclusively for peaceful, domestic purposes and not very often! The whole question is in the sky-high cost of cameras now, even purely amateur cropped ones like D7500. If six or seven years ago it was possible to buy carcasses such as D7000, D7100 at a price that did not play any role at all in the emotions when buying, now for amateurs the price is in the first place.
An integral part of capitalism - the crisis of overproduction - hence the emergence of all sorts of new devices in all areas and veiled marketing, forcing a person to think that it will be better than that, but in fact, everything is much simpler and is not the way it is all presented by marketers! Most photographers (and in this case, we are talking about them!) Do not need extra spending when making money. The coolest pros get these cameras from the company for free for advertising - it's easier for them. Someone likes to constantly change cameras and monitor the release of new products to buy and try. Someone mows the grandmother on the reviews and it also pays off for him with interest! But there are very few of them and they will not make the difference in sales!
As for the cameramen, I don’t understand at all how you can use a camera, not a video camera, to shoot films! Well, except for YouTube, well, there it is enough and it will be more convenient to use a good phone!
I agree with the development of technical progress! But, again, this is all for a narrow circle of the most professionals or frostbitten fans, and only partially applies to the bulk of people.
How many people take all these Z9 and other innovations seriously? You can count on your fingers. And as a purchase, there are only a few!
A simple example (not from the photo) is an LG washing machine with a direct drive and an additional pump that supplies water to the shower from above during washing. This pump began to emit rattling sounds after six months of using the washing machine and, under warranty, they did not want to change it, citing that our water was not the same. And every time you think - what an idiot came up with this shower and why is it needed at all! In principle, I will not change for my money, and when this washing machine breaks down, I will buy a new one, but it will definitely not be shitty LG with its stupid technical progress. And there are many such examples in any field!
So all these Z9s, and especially ours, just have a look at the review, if someone is interested and that's it. And if they look around and see who needs all these autofocusing on the eyes of cats and dogs - and no one within a radius of 10 thousand kilometers and for one simple reason - the price is not justified! From the words "absolutely nothing" !!! And the dog can be photographed on the D7000 and will be no worse than on the Z9. The other day I was in our village in a photo studio and noticed what they were filming for those who wanted to be photographed in the studio. There is one umbrella with a diameter of about 1,5 meters as lighting and a Canon camera of some kind of IXUS ten years ago. And I looked at the photo, a friend was photographed there and you can't say that such garbage was filmed - it looks very decent!
So at the philistine level now all these Z9s look exactly the same as film SLRs looked in Soviet times in our country. And because there are no cameras like Z9 in any store in the country, but only in Moscow, and then, apparently, only in their brand store near the Kursk railway station!

        • Arkady Shapoval

I meet such demagoguery only at the forums of the CIS countries. I read a lot of Western forums, there is a completely different agenda, different goals, tasks, methods of work and earnings. There people really wait for the release of such cameras, for example, those who always shot on 4s, like d6-d9 and do not want to move to a class below. For them, the ZXNUMX is a balm for the soul. Everything is cognized in comparison, of course, and your thoughts and conclusions have a place to be.

          • Dmitriy

Arkady, ahahahha ... Found something to compare with. In the west, an employee received $ 3000 per month. (let's say), and the camera also cost $ 3000. But now this same employee still earns $ 3000 per month, and the camera still costs $ 3000. Whereas our people earned $ 600 per month. , and now $ 250 and the camera still costs $ 3000. That is why in the west this camera is like a balm for the soul !!! And here you need to think, a camera or an apartment!

            • Dim

“In the west, an employee received $ 3000 per month. (let's say), and the camera also cost $ 3000. But now this same employee still earns $ 3000 per month, and the camera still costs $ 3000. " You apparently have not traveled abroad or have traveled once. Always amazed by these arguments about the bright West, where everything is there and you can do nothing and swim in money. If a certain “worker” is paid so much there, then after work he will no longer have time for the camera in the form of a balm for his soul.

                Well, why be so imaginative?
in 2011 the top full frame cost about $ 6800.
inflation is not less than 2% / year.
today is a top full frame worth how much? and in the money of 2011?
In total, cameras for developed countries have fallen in price or at least have not risen in price.
Well, the problems of the third world countries are only their problems. there are no sales anyway))))

          • Alexander

This is not demagoguery, but a harsh reality! If you, Arkady, earn a lot and against this background do not see in what madhouse the majority of people live both with you and with us, then you, my friend, are stuck! I already wrote to you a simple truth - until 2014 the cameras had an adequate price and personally, at my very amateur - home level from 2003 to 2014, almost every year I bought new cameras and during this time I changed three systems. And this despite the fact that I do not use the entry level, but use such as the D7100. But, after 2014, everything changed dramatically, everything became very expensive and now to buy a new camera, and even more so to change the system for most amateurs is fantastic, so this is all that causes such emotions. And there is no need to compare with the West. They, against the background of our penny patches with their salaries, can be said to be fattening now!
And all these attempts of the capitalists just cause a smile and complete misunderstanding - but why the heck is all this is needed and to whom? Hence most of the wedding photographers in the periphery who still use cameras like the Canon 350D. And so it will be until the standard of living returns at least !!! to the level of 2013. So far, there is no need to dream of a better one, and almost no one dreams of that either!

            • Arkady Shapoval

I do not even know what to say. This is terrible logic. For example, I have a d40 and often take pictures with it, and I can even show something from it - https://500px.com/p/ArkadiiShapoval/galleries/nikon-d40
But at the same time, I perfectly understand why there are other cameras, why they have a similar price tag and for whom, what and why they are intended. At the same time, I do not fall into the demagogy of a “capitalist conspiracy”.

              • Leonid

              • Michael

"For what 5-6 sput dollars, Karl?" - Leonid, you will not believe, for the camera.
The market is like that, if you don't like it, don't buy it. Go to Karl with whom you are talking and buy there cheaper, no one seems to force you?

            • Oleg

The price of the cameras remains the same depending on the segment, it's just that our economies have failed. But after all, camera manufacturers are not obliged to focus on you and me. This segment has always been very expensive and was intended for professionals, manufacturers poured the best developments into it.

            • Rodion Eshmakov

And I would tell you that something like this happened there after 2014) But this will entail an incredible holivar. But the point is, you have suffered, dear, because you defend so fiercely.

              • Dim

It seems to me that he does not defend anything, but simply expresses his point of view - each person has a reality refracted by some of his personal qualities, life experience. Sometimes it can be very helpful to just try to see the world with different eyes. In my opinion, planned obsolescence is a real thing and this is one of the reasons why markets are being updated and some companies are going into oblivion.

It would hardly smell - a flawed economy cannot smell. But it wouldn't stink like that.

            • Sergei

In the West, it seems like most people know how to count money and do not allow themselves to buy a new camera every year. And certainly not every second has tops there. Who said that Petya, a stacker from bakery no. 5, should be able to afford to buy a camera of the upper price segment from one salary, the purchase of which not every professional would consider expedient. So let Petya raise his price tag or save up his whole life there and at some stage, instead of a car / apartment, he will buy himself the coveted camera.
But the market also offers cameras for homeless people. What, they can't be filmed? - can. In the same USSR, there were also cameras “not for everyone” and nothing, the people somehow lived and filmed what was.
You should not dream that someone will raise your standard of living until 2013, but start raising your standard of living yourself and everything will work out. Well, or do nothing and continue to grumble going down to the bottom.

            • Alexey_S

I'm not claiming anything, but I will share it.
For over a year he lived in Canada in the Greater Toronto Area.
Regarding the family's budget - not to say that the rich live there. Almost everyone has a mortgage for 20-25 years, loans for the education of children, etc.

They save up for retirement, consider different strategies.
But they have a different order of prices. To put it very roughly, they get more, but almost everything is much more expensive. As a result, most do not have money for a camera for $ 6500 (+ tax), just like we do, but it’s not so stressful to buy a cheaper camera, since the amounts are different in the family's budget. Nevertheless, the problem of “depreciating labor” is also growing there, as in the rest of the world.

The problem is not that people are being paid less in conventional units, but that inflation eats up the real value of money from year to year. Real indexing is carried out on popular vacancies and positions, and all the rest (of which the majority) are slaughtered to varying degrees (in the CIS countries they are openly ignored). And the usual work is not in demand, because due to scientific, technical and programmatic progress, entire specialties and industries are dying out.
There is a distortion, social inequality. Any promoted YouTube blogger can earn more than the entire staff of a hospital or a fire brigade of the whole city.

Alexander, I understand you partly. In the USSR, such a bias would hardly have happened. But there were problems and where they are not.

Nobody needs the hinterland of our countries, and 2014 simply accelerated this process.

Russia, like the entire CIS, has many problems that drag us to the bottom, and the new “Wind of Change” is even more painful for us. Alas.

Way out: look for a place in the new world (and there is no universal formula here).

              • Nicholas

Aleksey: “To put it very roughly, they get more, but almost everything is much more expensive. I completely agree. I've been living in Calgary for 12+ years - not newcamers. The joint income with my wife is about 130-150 thousand CAD per year - average by local standards, and I still puzzle over how to buy Nikon Z6ii so that it would not be too bad for the budget. The principle here is simple - if you don’t make money on this tool (Z9), then you don’t need it. Simpler models are quite enough. Which and how many simpler, everyone decides for himself.

              • Michael

                Nikolay, Alexey, let's clarify?
Mortgages in Canada are 0.95% per year. or 1.4% per year fixed.
apartment / house in mortgage = rental value. and somewhere to live all the same it is necessary.
top cameras are bought by pros - they write off the costs as expenses, saving about 30% of the price.
For a year and a half, Canada handed out large amounts of money to everyone for $ 2000 / month.
no one wanted to work - often s-pl below)))
and now there is a shortage of people everywhere, wages have grown by about 20%.
about the same in italy, states, etc.

              • Michael

                Alex,
                and let's in numbers?
"Any promoted YouTube blogger can earn more than the entire staff of any hospital or fire brigade of the whole city." - in Canada in Ontario, a doctor receives about 350 a year.
in the states - about 500. A good doctor - the amount doubles.
workers are nowhere to be found anywhere, in ontario how many roof repairs? $ 50 per hour? unqualified labor. plumbing, electrical - from $ 150 per hour. in the states about the same, only in local dollars.

              • Alexey_S

Mikhail, you have asked a lot of questions, some of them may lead to a hotter discussion than is expected from a photo-related site.
I don’t know from what sources you took the numbers. I shared my real life observations in Canada. You may have a different experience.

                Let's order.
My friends had a mortgage at 2.7% and this percentage was reviewed every 5 years. One could only dream of a 0.95% rate. The monthly mortgage payment was about $ 3000 CAD. Which is significantly more expensive than renting a home (for example, I rented for 1600), but in the long run it is still better to pay a mortgage than to rent.
About writing off expenses - this is only if you have your own business (which, in principle, is not so difficult there, but there are some troubles). So, not everyone can write off.

I will not make a special comment about the covid time, I did not live there at that time. I will only say that many of my friends suffered perceptibly at this time because the lockdown there was tough.

When I wrote about bloggers' earnings, I had the salary figures in my head in Russia, rather than Canada (where medicine is insanely expensive).

I really don't like counting other people's money. But let's try to roughly estimate. In the Russian field, there is a young guy (I don’t want to write his name, because he doesn’t need extra PR), a reader with his mouth, with tattoos on his face, famous for scandals and, in principle, not capable of anything else. According to the first link in the search engine, his earnings over the past year turned out to be 7.4 million dollars or 518 million rubles a year (I myself was very surprised when I googled this figure for you) or 43 million a month. According to the first analytical article from Tinkoff, the average salary of a doctor in the Russian Federation is about 80 tr per month. Let's round up for our "calculations", let it be 100 tr per month. We get that 430 doctors can work for one salary of this blogger, which, it seems to me, corresponds to the number of a medium-sized hospital (or maybe even more than one).
So, doctors save lives every day. Their work is visible and useful, unlike ...

In any case, I am not going to discuss with you any more. Moreover, this is offtopic for this topic. I shared my observations, as did you.

                All good!

              • Michael

Alexey, the figures are all from open sources. open any bank in canada (or states) - there is a mortgage calculator. if your acquaintances took under 2.7 per year and the payment was 3000 / month, this means that they took out a mortgage for 650 dollars :)))) this is what the math says.
of this amount, 1900 per month is the repayment of THEIR debt and only 1100 is interest on the loan, which is certainly more profitable than renting and throwing 1600 to uncle nowhere (1600> 1100).
in addition, over the past two years, real estate in America has grown by 40% - this is still a huge income))).
no matter how much a blogger earns. it is HIS earnings.
but the distribution of money there was not sickly, the growth of the money supply in Canada for 2 years - more than 300% (!!!) in the states - a bill for trillions.
distribution of loans (irrecoverable) to businesses, direct benefits, etc. )))
read - in the states, employers offer bonuses to those who returned to work, up to $ 2000 and to work, in general, there are not many who want to - there is a shortage of workers - an account of millions.

              • Nicholas

I would also like to add - radojuva.com - a wonderful site about photographic equipment, both old and new, with just a very good and understandable presentation of the material. Read, THINK, discuss ... what else do you need to choose YOUR camera or lens, or just learn something new for yourself ???? But, reading the comments, you freak out from ... Maybe I'm out of the habit, but so much unusual aggression in opinions, oh..t (to go nuts) is simple.
Just comparing with the same DPReview site….
HOW can the quality of the design and the capabilities of a new lens or camera depend on whether I can have it or not. Share your experience. and not speculation from the Internet. (General appeal)

              • Arkady Shapoval

The Internet segment of the former CIS almost always violently and often reacts negatively to expensive products. In the west, people are more “well-fed” and calmer.

              • Nicholas

You are right, I’m probably very far away and for a long time in the West, a little further and the east will be, Dalny. But you can remain human everywhere. And the principle “You get what you pay for” works everywhere and always.
But it was on your site that I read about it, and as a result I ordered an adapter on the eBay. I want to attach a lens to the Z7 II from my first camera (my father's) FED-2. Just see what comes out. 50 / 2,8 industar 26m. It was presented to my father in 1956 for graduation from school.

                Anyway, Thanks for the site

            • Michael

              Alexander, why fantasize?
lay out the prices of cameras 2014 and now by segment.
in USD. and no more demagogy and nonsense about the conspiracy.
              just numbers.
Even without taking into account inflation (and this is even in USD 2% per year at least, now about 6% per year) cameras have become much better and certainly not more expensive. or rather, cheaper.

              • Alexey_S

Mikhail, I agree with you. This trend can be clearly seen in components. You can compare any processor, or sdd at a price of $ 300 USD now and let's say 7-10 years ago. There is a huge difference in quality between them at a similar price (and this is not taking into account inflation).

            • Andrei

              In 2014, in order to buy the D5100, I had to “tighten up” a lot; 2017 - D7200, tense, but not much; 2019 - D750, not strained; 2022 - D810 + Nikor24-70 / 2,8 - did not strain from the word "completely".)

              • Viktre

Offer to be happy for you? :)

          • koba

almost 30% of all professional cameras from all manufacturers are now sold in China, you would have looked at the sales of D6, then you would not say that no one buys them. Cameras are not released just like that, first marketers study the demand using various methods and only then the goods are put into production. Personally, I have seen queues for the newly-minted top cameras from Nikon and Kenon in the leading photo shops of the cities of Shenzhen and Shanghai, now all this can be estimated in terms of sales through online. And so, according to statistics, yes, top-end cameras occupy less than 2% of all sales, which is why they are expensive, but many professionals need them and companies continue to produce them. After 5-10 years, we, ordinary users, can reach them and use them for health, like, for example, me and many others like me.

        • Michael

Oh well. I remember my first digital apparatus costing about $ 1000 and it was an amateur 450D. Nothing, I bought it and left the film. Now the same 7500 costs $ 1000, and this is already quite an advanced camera, not the lower segment. So the price tag is as it was, and remains, but your personal mat. state interests no one.

          • Victor

And you, Mikhail, do not live in the CIS?) Or do you get salary in dollars? Since 2014, the level of purchasing power of the majority of CIS residents has at least naturally dropped and very noticeably.
By the way, the amateur 450d cost $ 799, and the top amateur (not professional!) D7500 cost $ 1249, so everything is as it should be.

            • Michael

the price of cameras, its production, etc. - are made on the basis of the sales market. and this, alas, is not the CIS. if you want to compare - compare with those markets where the main sales take place - Europe, America, Juva. have you seen the hryvnia there? )))
and the problems of the cis, as well as the problems of the currency of the Cook Islands, camera manufacturers do not care, due to the lack of sales)))

            • Michael

Michael, then let’s unanimously complain about the increase in fares, the price of sausage, the price of heating? everything has grown in Ukraine and not only in UAH but also in dollar equivalents. )))) and gasoline for 30 UAH? ))) And mineral water at the price of gasoline? )))

              • Michael

                I'm not even complaining

            • Michael

In the CIS, but it is not serious to estimate salary in tugriks. Fell and fell. This does not mean that cameras have risen in price.

If a wedding photographer still shoots at d80 or 350d, then this is a dead bombshell, who does not care about quality, about his clients, about the reliability of the result and about respect for himself. It's all true. If you walk in Spain or Italy there, especially in the old quarters, where there are not so many immigrants, then everything is fine and all the advantages of capitalism are visible. But it is worth looking into the local ghetto and somehow it is no longer so. And if you also read the diaries of captains from the time of the first geographical discoveries, then it becomes clear where it all came from and how it appeared. I especially liked how the Portuguese were discovering India. And how did the French boast on the atolls? I recently glimpsed it in the Democratic press. History is written by winners - this is an old truth.

          Why use a rangefinder on Practica if it's a DSLR: https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/Praktica ?
By the way, just yesterday I saw a young girl with Practica in her arms in the center of Moscow, I was very surprised by this.

      • Alexey

And what's wrong with the quality of photos on Nikon D80 is still quite possible. Many people even like it more than photos on modern cameras))))

        • Michael

Alexey, 5D also gives excellent quality in places, much better than D80.
But using a modern camera is many times more convenient. It's like comparing a cart and a tesla - you can get from exactly to Kiev what is on the cart what is on the tesla)))

          • Victor

Mikhail, only if you took the reins in your hands yesterday, whether on a cart or on Tesla, you won't go further than the nearest post, what kind of Kiev is there))) This time.
And two - in what exactly is it manifested “many times over”? Does the shutter button work differently there? Is the viewfinder on old cameras crooked? Do they weigh 35 kilos and are they hard to carry with you? What?))

            • Michael

Victor, you need to know how to use any tool.
in many times? Well, let's try to count.
Compare a full-frame DSLR from 2010 and a modern mirrorless analogue.
              - video - just keep quiet, alas, there is nothing to compare.
              - DD - better by 3 stops
              - shadows - better by 2 stops
              - high ISO - on a modern mirrorless camera it is better, there are also two reference ISO
              - working with manual lenses, the ability to enlarge the area in EVF or on the screen up to x10 times - working with mirrorless and manual lenses is just a pleasure
              - work with EVI - the exposition is immediately visible
              - AF - much more accurate, works great on the eyes
              - cam stub - on average, the efficiency is 4-5 stops for any lens
              - no endless precise adjustments of the FAF, who worked with high-aperture lenses will understand (the owners of the crop and whale, in principle, will not understand)
              etc. including time-lapses and others.
working with a new mirrorless camera - stuck in the lens, ISO -100-12800, the cam stub is on and .. in general, that's it.
Who worked - understands, it is useless to explain to the rest))))

              • Victor

It is immediately clear that the collective image of forum tales about old and new cameras is molded))) Marketers can breathe out with relief - it's not in vain that they ate bread)))

DD. Where the DD penny is not enough, the newer camera will not be enough either. Yes, and most of the correctly exposed scenes fit into it one way or another, it is necessary either to hard mow with the exposure or in any case to shoot HDR - the result will be better.

Shadows? This is not the same as DD?

Are high isos better? Well, yes, better, stop, if you're lucky. Now count how many successful photos you took at iso 100… 800, and how many at 3200… 12800. Honestly :)
Two reference ISOs? How does this practically help you? Noise at iso 800 for cameras with "dual" ISO is noticeably less than for cameras without it? No))

Working with manual lenses? Do you know many commercial photographers (not manual optics enthusiasts, but mostly) who WORK with manual lenses?))) As an amateur, I tried to make friends with manual lenses several times and I don't want to anymore. Yes, focusing magnification and blah blah blah of course were. But thanks, no))

The exposure is immediately visible - well, maybe it is (we will not mention the EVI's shortcomings, right?)), But a fairly experienced photographer will understand on a DSLR what type of metering to use and what correction to introduce in certain conditions. Not an argument))

Eye AF - yes, it's a handy thing. And that's all.
More precisely - it is unlikely. It becomes especially fun when you need to catch a small object among the branches, for example a bird)) Ask the owners of eos R (for example) what it feels like)))

Cam stub (this is where it is present, of course) - of course it gives a good bonus to using any lenses in difficult lighting conditions, but unfortunately, it does not add reliability to cameras. And of course no camstab can replace a normal tripod))

Infinite adjustments to the FAF? Are you sure you've worked with mirror optics and haven't read a lot of forums? Even if you are not very lucky to run into crooked optics (personally, I was lucky), there is a service center where (if not guaranteed, it is free of charge) the problem is solved once or twice for a nominal fee.

                ---

No, no doubt, the new cameras are better in some way (in some ways even worse), but to say that they are ALWAYS and FOR EVERYBODY better unconditionally right at times, I would not risk it)))

              • Michael

Victor, you pointed your finger at the sky.
AF is critical to many pros.
they tried to solve the FAF problem for a DSLR with crutches for a long time, the kenon even made adjustments at several points, the docking station added a distance, separately targets and other crap. Buying any lens is a long-term adjustment, even with your hands, even with software, often - a reference to adjustment.
Only crop lovers of shit-zums do not know about this problem, there is a flu from 3m and up to infinity, what kind of back and front focus problems are there.
Cam stub is very convenient, it often works in conjunction with a lens stub.
Eye AF - super convenient, forget about re-frame.

Yes, I have a lot of travel photos that are not 100 ISO. And this is very convenient, put the machine gun and generally do not look at the ISO.

DD is important for landscape photographers, old cameras are much worse.

“More precisely - hardly. It becomes especially fun when you need to catch a small object among the branches, for example a bird)) Ask the owners of eos R (for example) what it feels like))) ”- how can I explain it to you, you hardly understand how it works…. I shot with a cannon mark 3 and it also did not always fall through the branches to the bird, can you imagine? ))) like the mark 4! ))) because the cross point AF at the SLR, alas, is not a panacea. With a mirrorless camera, everything is simpler - with a button to zoom in 5 or 10 times, with a joystick - AF area selection and fast focusing. In total, there are many times less marriage.

You have confirmed what I have already said - "Those who have worked understands, it is useless to explain to the rest))))"
If you work with a normal modern mirrorless camera, you will understand why people are switching to it. Mirrors are becoming a niche for stoned fanboys who don't have the money for modern technology. )))

The cart is clearly better than the Tesla, the road is better felt in the back seat due to the lack of springs))))

              • Victor

                Michael, you are intrigued, however))

And what camera are you shooting now, and which one did you shoot before, and also where can you see your pictures?)) Flickr, VK, inst?))

              • Nicholas

Is it possible, but it is possible ???? I'll throw my 5 kopecks. :)
                I shoot with NIKON Z7 II ...
Mikhail is 100000% right. Mikhail is right - my vision. Especially on lenses with additional buttons. I pressed it, and Oh happiness in EFV 100% zoom, moved a finger, brought it to mind and get HAPPINESS. Like that…

              • Nicholas

                or as

              • Nicholas

And it's better this way ...

              • Nicholas

You can also go on about what you can do on SLR cameras by dancing with a tambourine. But at the BZK it is much easier to do it without a tambourine.
The next proof is with the Sony A7R4. It's just another generation of technology that makes life much easier.
                "Tunnel of time"

              • Victor

Of the 4 photos presented, I did not see ANYONE about which one could say that it can be done in czk only with dances with a tambourine :)

What follows from this is clear and without comment)))

    • Igor

About "looking at an LCD screen instead of a living mirror and ruining your eyes"

On a DSLR, you look through a group of lenses at a matte focusing screen. On a mirrorless camera, you look at the LCD screen through the same lens group. What is the difference? How does one spoil vision and the other does not?

You can feel sorry for yourself and console yourself with the fact that you export with the 350D and don't bend under the market, but only those photographers who take into account the needs of the market can afford new cameras, and not suffer from old shit. and feel sorry for yourself on the forums.

      • Alexander

It's not about me! For myself, I do not consider sagging under the market at all, and if I need something and will be useful, then I buy it! This is not about me, but about an incomprehensible tendency to get hooked on this or that product, which is the fruit for making a profit! For home purposes, the D7100 is enough for me and I see no reason for myself to buy something else. And the LCD screen somehow affects the vision with its blinking, of course, to a lesser extent than the lamp one, but it still does, but the mirror viewfinder does not! And if you think that the LCD screen does not blink, then study this topic on the Internet! And in your opinion now a hundred-something "old shit", but before it means it was advanced? What changed? Final result? No, the final result, especially on the screen, has hardly changed, but the number of show-offs has changed very much! That's all your "and not torment yourself on the old shit, and feel sorry for yourself on the forums." Conversation about nothing! But it will add profits to the capitalists!

        • Arkady Shapoval

It's all passing. I shoot a lot, and after comfortable work with focusing on the eyes through EVF or Live View, I don't want to switch to OVI. I wrote about this recently here: https://radojuva.com/2021/01/main-screen-ovf-evf/

I often come across such nostalgic statements and frightening statements. Usually from people who are stuck on d7000, they shoot a little "for themselves" and generally do not earn money from this :). It's all experience.

          • Alexander

Why nostalgic? Henri Cartier bought his film rangefinder watering can code - how old was he - 18? or 22 ?. And I shot it all my life! And it is an example in shooting technique so far and will be so. And now the so-called professional photographer either lacks dots in the metering, then in the autofocus the point is not there, then the autofocus is directed to the wrong pupil, then the hand is inconvenient to hold the camera. In one word, "To a bad dancer ..." People used to shoot with a camera, but what are they doing now? Why take a camera in your hands at all, if time bothers you, and it is always the fault of the autofocus, the exposure metering, or the inscription on the camera? And to think that this is a head and hands like that - apparently not enough mind. It is necessary to shoot and receive photographs with the help of a camera, and not to be a nutcracker and engage in techno-style.
And what does “stuck on D7000” mean? What's wrong with her? In recent years, I have seen more than a dozen people (and young people) filming at Zenith or FED. Always came up with the question "Why?" And the answer is always the same - "Yes, sometimes I want to practice real photography, otherwise it is difficult to call digital pictures a photograph with their dot-square pattern."
And then in the West! No need to compare God's gift to scrambled eggs! The West and not the West are both a plus and a minus now!

            • Andrei

              Everything is bad.

            • Arkady Shapoval

There is nothing wrong with d7000. The bad thing is that people with d7000 and 350d climb everywhere with their "more is not needed, it was better before." This is terrible

              • twm

                > 350d
By the way, in terms of ergonomics - the location of the buttons on the carcass and the additional screen - it was the coolest of the younger line :) Plus, miniature, but with a comfortable grip.

In 400, Canon has already redrawn this business - not in the best way, for my taste. / Tied up with offtopic

              • Michael

Arkady, when a person shouts that everything is bad, and abundantly fertilizes his post with exclamation marks, read this seriously ... well, you just can't.
Let him first give up toilet paper, because before the people had enough newspapers, and Henri Cartier in general probably used burdocks ...
Now give the people a soft, flavored and three-layer ...

            • Neustrdm

This is from poverty. In developed countries, where even a bus driver earns three dollars, spending 1000-1500 dollars every couple of years on a favorite hobby is normal. But not here, where money is saved up for equipment and then for 10 years they shake over it, unfortunately.

      • Koba

my subjective opinion is that I constantly followed the electronic viewfinders, of course, they have evolved and will continue to develop even more, and for myself, I felt essentially the same convenience only by looking at the EVF from the new Sony A1, I think that after such a viewfinder there is no longer a difference with the optical ... Sooner or later he will be included in the standard set of cameras, or even better than him ...

        • Igor

Well, if convenience means resolution and frame rate, then probably yes. But here's the convenience in terms of functionality and information content - for me personally, EVI has been more convenient since the days of the Sony A58. I shoot with a DSLR, and I often use Live View, because only in it I immediately see the real exposure, the real depth of field, and thus even such a display will be more informative than the OVI.

And if before there were eternal compromises between Live View and an optical viewfinder, then on modern cameras there are almost none, and this is good news.

          • Seladir

As for the real exposure, on a sunny day, when everything is covered in snow, I dived into EVI as if in darkness. Here, except that the histogram was guided. But my experience with EVF is limited to the Canon M50 II.

            • Rodion

By the way, yes, EVF exposure is sometimes difficult to assess adequately without a histogram.

          • Victor

Igor, well, if during shooting you think about “real exposure”, real depth of field and, at the same time, look at the display - I can imagine what’s real you have “at the exit” !? The materiel must be studied before shooting, and not use Murphy's Laws! For me, a photographer (a real one!) Knows what the depth of field will be at the moment of making a decision to rearrange the lens (if, of course, he shoots with one camera).

      • Michael

I think this is from a series of old horror stories, about the fact that the TV spoils the eyesight

    • Dim

I saw such devices on the guys who ride behind the back of a motorcyclist and take pictures of professional cyclists, they are clearly intended for a strictly specific type of shooting. Once I saw D3 in the hands of a wedding man in Italy, I guess it's more for show-off.

    • Jea reth

Capitalists are usually to blame for everything when the victim of capitalist relations does not have an understanding of the principles of the market.
Such photographers, who, as you say, hammer commerce on cameras from the time when fish just came ashore and have not yet decided to delve into this topic, such an attitude does not do credit. Reluctance to master new technologies in a commercial environment is an indicator of mediocre skills in principle, not to mention some kind of professionalism. Like more and do not need? Not at all.
I still own the ancient 5D, but I will never drag it to a commercial shoot, because in comparison with the not even fresh EOS R, they only have to prop up the door in a draft.
Thinking like yours can go very far. And to show them in public - well, that's already bold, what else to say)

    • Sergei

Well, in general, you are stuck in the position of “everyone is like me”. You cannot afford it, so others cannot, you don’t need it, so others don’t need it either. A normal price tag for a top-end camera, it does not cause any shock. Such a camera is not positioned as an amateur. Professionals - not collective farm photographers, of course, photographers, can afford this without straining and, by the way, can reveal the potential of this camera. In any area of life there are different types of consumers - someone chooses equipment for a long time, thinks over everything, someone buys tops and updates them regularly, someone buys different faeces without understanding, suffers, buys others and so on for many years, etc. ., you can list for a long time. But no one imposes anything on you. The manufacturer is called so for a reason - he must produce and constantly develop, otherwise he will die. And those collective farm photographers you mentioned do not want to develop, tk. if they improved their skills, they could even get out into the world with their cameras and, as a result, could afford a better technique.

As for technology, you shouldn't be talking about the neural interface, it is a very real topic and will be 100% implemented sooner or later, and most likely in drones. Although there are already such helmets, the neural interface is not so necessary. In general, there is a lot more that can be thought of and improved in cameras, but unfortunately all these improvements are unlikely to ever be counted in one camera, rather they will be smeared with a thin layer of different brands.
Five years ago I switched from the Nikon d7000 to the bzk Olympus with a noisier matrix, but with a stabilizer and with EVI. And in general, it is convenient, there are fewer defects in photos, the color is better, many types of shooting have become available or greatly simplified. Vision from Evi does not deteriorate more than from OVI, and flickering it rather depresses the nervous system than the eyes. The viewfinder is Oled there, but I never paid attention to flickering, as, for example, it is noticeable in smartphones with such a screen. But in general it is more convenient, much more convenient. It may not be so aesthetically pleasing in terms of sensations, but you see what you get, but in the JVI - no, neither by exposure, nor by grip, nor by the blur zone due to frosted glass. With the same manual glasses, it just became a thrill to work.

And your washing machine most likely bent correctly, tk. water is different and there are special additives to the powder or prophylactic agents. You need to know the water situation in your region and take into account the recommendations. I have an LG direct drive washer, everything is great for 6 years now. Periodically cleaned with special means, climbed inside - there is no scale, although the water is hard.

In general, the price of the z9 is quite justified for those who know what to do with it. And if progress is so alien to you, you can wash with your hands in a stream and shoot daggerotypes there or something. It's pretty fun after all.

  • an256

And oh, how useful autofocus on the eyes of animals would be for me, my Maine Coon cat is very mobile. I apologize for not quite on the topic, but I would like to hear your advice on which camera to buy, what would this focus on the eyes of animals be, Nikon z50 will do? I have two lenses Nikon AF-S 16-80mm f / 2,8-4E DX VR ED and Nikon DX AF-S Nikkor 35mm 1: 1.8G SWM Aspherical and had no plans to sell the lenses. I don't really need a full frame, I won't shoot for money. Does it make sense to buy a z50 or sell lenses and change the system?

    • wj

an256, the Z50 does not have a dedicated animal eye focusing mode. Nikon got it only in the new full-frame models Z6II and Z7II. If you're very lucky, the Z50 might get this feature with a firmware update, but I wouldn't count on it. Most likely it will be introduced into the conditional Z50II. So if I were you, I would have postponed the purchase for now, if this function is critically important to you. This year, according to rumors, Nikon is expected to release another APS-C camera, most likely it will also focus on the eyes of animals. Until then, keep shooting with your existing equipment. Your lenses are good, there is no point in changing them without urgent need.

    • Vlad

And what color is your cat?) I have z5, there is also AF for the eyes of animals. Often you have to shoot animals, mainly veterinary clinics. In general, it catches well, but only if the eyes stand out in contrast. A ginger dog with black eyes, or a black cat with green eyes. But on a black poodle, he refuses to find eyes at all - they merge with the coat

      • an256

I have a cat, she is still a kitten, of a multi-colored color, here is a photo, I took it at the dacha.

      • an256

Here is a photo of the cat.

        • Vlad

Take z50, you will not regret it) I played it in the store, I really liked it. Now I want to pair to z5. They are functionally very similar. I looked at the office. site - AF for animal eyes added in firmware 2.00.
But it is better, if possible, to rent it for a couple of days before buying. Test AF, evi, etc.

        • B. R. P.

          Notable kote, however)

          • Ivan

Kote is notable, but photography is not. The built-in flash appears to have fired. With such a phototypesetting and with such an inability to shoot, the desire for a new camera, with a swing at the latest UPC models, will not give any increase in quality.

            • an256

Well, I see you are also a "master" if you recognized the built-in flash, but try to persuade the kitten to sit and shoot when the sun shines into the camera from the window, and there is no way to change the shooting angle.

              • an256

The cat is sitting almost right next to the wall, probably the built-in flash would make a hard shadow or what?

              • Ivan

“Apparently” is not a statement, but an assumption. In any case, the photo is not impressive.

              • Ivan

I specially looked at the EXIF of the image. The flash did indeed work. What was your refutation? You yourself write that the light of the sun hits the camera. At the same time, a glint in the cat's eyes is visible.

              • an256

The external flash is not built-in, you are a photographer, and not as an amateur, you could understand, Then the person asked what color of the cat, I tried to convey, it was not about artistry, where I caught the cat, I took it there, And the last, well, the specialist probably asked Why would I need a new camera, I would answer, the 3200 does not suit the ISO maximum of 400, then only the noise reduction, the second white balance in the auto mode is not very good in the 3200, there were problems with the cat and the last was a couple of times the shutter speed of 1/200 was not enough at shooting during the day with flash.

              • Ivan

Well, I raise ISO above 200 only at concerts. And it would be more correct to direct an external flash to the ceiling, so the photo would be more attractive.

              • an256

The flash was aimed at the ceiling, there would still be a glint in the eyes, it was possible to try a little back, but excuse the cat won't wait, it's good when ISO 200 is always possible, for example, in the Carpathians in the forest, for example, it did not fit into this framework.

              • Ivan

Yes, you are right, looked through NX Studio, indeed, SB-400, Bounce Flash. By the way, if you are interested in examples at high ISO for the Z50, check out the examples in the High ISO Performance section, especially the crops from large images:
                https://kenrockwell.com/nikon/mirrorless/z50.htm#perf

              • an256

So the light from the flash went down, the room is narrow, the ceiling is not high, in this photo it is not much different

              • an256

I wanted to write a small room.

              • Ivan

Strange, but when I take pictures of a cat (everyone takes pictures of cats, but not everyone admits it), then I did not have such a sparkle in my eyes. True, I additionally use a diffuser nozzle.

              • Seladir

@Ivan, here almost the whole room is reflected in the eyes of the cat, well, the spot of light on the ceiling from the flash serves as a glare. I like this, the highlight adds a twist.

              • Ivan

Seladir, your photo is of a different quality. It's just that I was mistaken there, it seemed to me by the nature of the lighting that the built-in flash “in the forehead” had fired.

              • Ivan

It's time for Arkady to open a new photo contest with cats. This will be the most discussed section. However, there is a risk that the server will "fall" from the abundance of cats sent.

    • Alexey

Take the Z50, the camera is good, especially since you have the AF-S 16-80mm f / 2,8-4E, it will work great on this camera. The eyes of the animals are focused with the latest firmware, but as it was said the eyes should not merge with the color of the animal, the Z5 / Z6 / Z7 will have the same limitation.

    • Vlad

By the way, what camera are you shooting with now?

      • an256

        d3200

    • Andrei

Update the firmware to 2.11 on the Z50 - added recognition of animal faces and eyes

  • Alexey

Here you lit a holivar then. If on the topic, then those who need to they will buy. Those who sit on the 7100 do not need this camera. Arkady. Will you buy the flagship yourself? Or where?

  • Alexey

By the way. In Asashay, for example, people shoot with DSLRs or even old mobile phones and do not soar. It is only in the countries of the former scoop that they get dirty and whine forever. He also noticed that these same Soviets are the most ungrateful critics. The old man drowns for the rules of thirds and the cut, while the young simply have no taste.

  • 111

    1. Mirrorless cameras have not yet reached the proper level.
When choosing between Nikon D780 and Z6, the choice falls on the DSLR, because the optics do not need an adapter, the ergonomics are better, the battery is more tenacious, and the mirrorless functions are the same.

    2. Cameras need to be updated. Choose carefully. I immediately presented my old crop after buying a new FF. I couldn't just shoot ... It's like buying a new shoe instead of an uncomfortable old one. You start enjoying your new camera!

    3. Photography is dying! People are shooting less and less even with a smartphone. All this goes away ... Only “event registrars” will remain - weddings, schoolchildren ... They will shoot a typical boor for a penny. Instasamki - will serve themselves ...

    • Sergei

      1. That's when there will be a hybrid viewfinder in the ZK, then yes. And the stabilizer was not delivered. But overall, the d780 is a good camera. If you use it as a UPC, then the battery will be the same. I might even look at her if I needed FF BCHK, but I don't need it yet. Another option is the Z5.
      2. The need is determined by the objectives and feasibility within their framework.
      3. Oh, okay, accordion. Nothing dies. Who needs to shoot and does not carry such nonsense.

    • 1Ds_mk3

Sales in the decaying west (c) indicate that people are willing to leave Canon / Nikon DSLRs at the BZK.
Both of these companies were in a hurry, since Sony with its 7s was eating their share - it was not for nothing that adapters from Canon optics to Sony bayonet mounts were very popular until recently.
By the way, Fuji now has a similar situation - the adapter is again popular from Canon to Fuji. Fujists use it with X-T3 / X-T4 mainly.

Today I dragged myself to an exhibition in the Pharmaceutical Garden with my Edinichka and felt like an idiot there - all with iPhones, and a couple of people with Canon / Nikon crops, one granny with Sony's BZK crop (like some kind of NEX) and one woman with Nikon D600 and that is all.

  • vvs

My wallet has not grown to bzk
Here 5200 would take. For slaughter

  • Ry

Although it would be more logical to say "goodbye, nikon!"

By the way, to the holivar. When I bought Nikon D1X (2013-2014) I read a lot about it. And many explained their huge number on Ibei, by the fact that newspapermen began to abandon them in favor of newer ones. Those. it turns out that in the "decaying west", the capitalist society has been filming with old cameras for 14 years? Their runs exceeded a million. But if 5 pixels were enough for a reportage, then the agencies did not spend on D2, D3, etc. And you are talking about the level of salaries. The top-end camera in 2001 cost $ 6000, which was completely different money back then. I don't know how much the Z9 will cost, but if the old cameras have a resource, the agencies will buy them for any money for another 14 years. Their mirror has become obsolete, but we remember, we grieve ... (

Those who write goodbye to DSLRs and other nonsense - you have nothing to do with photography, and your camera (if any) is just a toy, which you can use to photograph your family or friends or other nonsense as much as possible.
This camera is significant because it has a chance to beat Canon and Sony. And there is a chance for Nikon to regain all of its positions of absolute leader, as it was from 1959 to 1989, when Canon appeared with the L series and EOS.
Nikon's bet on a matrix developed in Israel is impeccable, Israel is the undisputed leader in the IT industry, all Intel processors are developed in Israel. I am silent that all the electronics of the F-35 fighter are developed in Israel.
Nikon has a chance to completely bury the competition if it finally introduces lenses with aperture of 0.95-1. And also if they do dual pixel in the new firmware and allow users to embed in the firmware, like with CHDK. Then it will be complete superiority. But, given the collusion in companies, this is hardly possible, especially in modern realities. But, wait and see.

    • Victor

      Such a pretty stuffing))

      ps we will see.

    • Novel

Glory to Gd, thanks to you we can learn the TRUTH!

    • Arkady Shapoval

      Thank you :)

  • Igor

So I understand that Nikon created a new matrix, a new processor, etc. But many people write that Nikon simply crossed the D6 and D850?

    • Ivan

Nikon does not create matrices, but takes part in their development. The processor and the rest of the electronics, of course, were designed specifically for this camera. The mixture of the two cameras is not literal. Nobody put the inner stuffing of the 850th in a 6-ku. It's more about a conditional crossing of characteristics - a 45 megapixel matrix and a reportage body.

  • Igor

It will be hard to put all this joy in 45 megapixels into a reportage. Here R3 24 Mp Canon rolled out. It's hard to move 45 megapixel files at a report rate. What is this processor there.

    • Ivan

However, at the Olympics, both cameras were tested, Canon and Nikon. And there are pictures from them on the network. True, Nikon has worn "exiphs". Nikon will officially unveil soon. So everything went well.

    • Ivan

To date, it is known that the size of the images is 8256 x 5504, the shooting speed in low resolution (presumably 6 MB) is 120 fps. There are 160 fps series. Protective shutters that cover the matrix when changing optics, and other buns.

  • UstasFritZZZ

The era is gone .. Long live the new King!

  • varezhkin

One can only be glad for Nikon. Now the main thing for them is to be able to meet the demand, I suppose. And let NX Studio finish it at last.

  • Dmitriy

I think Nikon will bury itself with such decisions. He had a frenzied rollshatter with an electronic shutter, so I only used mechanics. Otherwise, people moving in the frame with elongated faces. And now there is no mechanic option.
120 fps for slow motion video is not enough (from experience). You need 240.
As a result, we have only improved video capabilities. But for this price, you can already buy a specialized camcorder from Canon / Sony / Blackmagic. There will be much better.

    • Oleg

So it's not just an electronic one, but a so-called "global" shutter, it seems.

      • Dmitriy

no, not global, unfortunately. If it were global, then there would be no questions

    • Vlad

Well, there is a sync speed of 1/200. This means the read speed is on par with most mechanical gates. Although, I think, the mechanics should have been left. In Sonya, A1 with a similar sensor was left.
More confused by something else: apparently, there EVI is the same as in З5 for $ 1500. 3,6 million points and 60 hertz. And this is in the top reportage !! Despite the fact that competitors have 6 and 10 million at 240/120 hertz

      • Dmitriy

Honestly, I don’t want to go into details, but the fact is that for most cameras (almost all of them have seen, and seen very many) the image on the electronic shutter begins to stretch if people move or move the camera relative to them. That is why they kept the mechanics for so long. The global shutter, as I understand it, was not implemented on this nikone. And if not, then this is a problem. In any case, in previous nikons, such a problem was in full growth. Less sensor means less rolling problems. Those. Crop is better in this regard. SF is really bad.
With EVI it is difficult to keep track of everyone, but progress is difficult. HASSELBLAD X1D II 50C for 7700usd also has an EVF of 3.69million pixels and this EVF does not please. FUJI GFX100 - better (5.76), but there is room for improvement. And this pixel density is not the limit at such a close distance to the screen.

    • Victor

Who exactly had the rabid Rollingshatter? Have you used Z9? If not, how can you judge this particular model? In specs on the off-site, it just screams about it that the Rollshatter is absent thanks to the new multilayer matrix, one can imagine what kind of hype would have risen if it had been found there. Who will go for it?

From the video - what kind of camera have you seen with 4k / 240? And what other camera writes 8k up to 2 hours without overheating? And in the future, the obviously promised 8k / 60 is still looming. For example, the direct competitor r3 costs even more, and is inferior in terms of video capabilities.

The only real complaint against Nikon may be 60p evf (although Nikon himself does not seem to be claiming what kind of evf there is), but how he will perform in comparison with 240p competitors still needs to be seen.

  • Andrei

As some of my colleagues have rightly noted, this device is described more like a camcorder with the ability to take still images in high resolution than a camera.

  • Nikolaj

Nikon decided to release the camera for a conservative reportage audience and for some reason removed the mechanical shutter ¯ \ _ (ツ) _ / ¯
I don't think the top reporters of the old school will appreciate this.
No matter how Nikon had to release the Z9ii with a mechanical shutter.

    • Victor

If the new electronic shutter does not lose anything in front of the former mechanical (and we will not list the obvious bonuses of the electronic), why should the reporters grieve about this?

      • Alexander

After reading the forum about the Sony A1, I found out that you can also catch stripes on it from the flickering of lamps with an electronic shutter (the function of building under flickering does not always save). Only there is a mechanical one, so you can always get rid of the problem. Nikon Z9 doesn't have one.

  • Leonid

    Forward to light? future!

The mirror was removed, the shutter was removed, what will be removed next? Lens?

And if you have removed this and that - why are you selling more expensive? )

They also hurried with tape recorders and record players - they made people laugh ... now they run around looking for - they restore expensive cassette decks and turntables. And now the CD is "outdated" too.

Perhaps there will be time - and the "outdated" DSLRs will be remembered anew. They got rid of film cameras early (discontinued). Did you buy them a little? So lower the price.

Young people now shoot on film more often than middle age. It would seem - why? And personally, I like the sound of digitizing from records, for example.

What am I doing? Progress is certainly good, but there is also a lot of marketing (the mirror sucks and is gone, the BZK is our everything, etc.) - they are driven towards progress with sticks. Consume - buy new and expensive, change lenses - sell the old for half the price, buy new for ... They also water Mr. (conventionally) those who are not for progress. Retrogrades are rogue ayayai.

Does the speaker make the shutter sound of a new shutterless camera?

    • Arkady Shapoval

Progress cannot be stopped. There will always be defenders of films and records, but 99% will shoot digital (including the phone).

  • Karbofoss

Weak viewfinder… Boom waiting for the next version, at least twice as high resolution.
