  • Victor

Why did he fall for fujifilm x, when the crop is full of four times lighter and cheaper samyangs 16/2? o_o

  • Victor

And for a full frame with such a hole, the benefit is questionable.

    • Arkady Shapoval

For an ultra-wide fix, such apertures are the norm, and few people are scared who will actually use it for its intended purpose.

  • B. R. P.

    NISI DEN'GY!

  • Victor

The presence in the line of sigma art models with 1.4 and 1.8, as well as a bunch of others with 2.8 how to explain?

    • Rodion

And what about the price? Weight? Aberrations?

      • Victor

If you don't go into the jungle of sigma, there is an excellent samyang 14 2.8, cheaper, but larger (which is understandable)

        • Rodion Eshmakov

Great samyang doesn't have great distortion at all. Well, the presence of HA in general ... Besides, it is not a "compact" at the UPC.

          • Victor

Well, the subject is also not at all a compact.
The distortion can be corrected within small limits by the profile (this is if it strongly interferes, which is not always the case). Similar CAs are present in many wide-angle lenses, including much more expensive ones. But the lens has excellent sharpness, and what will be on this Nisi still needs to be seen, there is much to promise.

      • Victor

However, if you focus on this picture, the lens promises to be interesting.
        We'll see.

        • Rodion Eshmakov

          Wow, I guessed it.

    • Arkady Shapoval

Same as having models from 5.6

      • Victor

Wide-angle fixes? Released in the last 10 years? From 5.6? What kind?

        • Arkady Shapoval

You don't need to go far into the forest, just a couple of months ago it was presented LAOWA FF ii 9mm F5.6 W-Dreamer RL FF for xnumx dollars

          • Victor

Yes, the same Laowa not so long ago got a 14/4 (also zero distortion, sunstars blah blah all the cases), but that low aperture is due at least to good compactness.

  • Rodion

This office, by the way, makes filters for lenses like more.

    • Arkady Shapoval

She also makes cinema lenses, which are not cheap by the way.

      • Rodion

This lens, by the way, has a rather noticeable symmetrical motif in the scheme. Most likely, the distortion is well corrected for him.

  • Michael

15mm boring ... At least 12 would be delivered

  • Basil

What's the fad to make manual focus lenses for USD 600 and up? Does autofocus really cost so much money? All these artisans, sigma, returned to the beginning of the 20th century. Although manual focusing is often more accurate, the speed ...

    • Arkady Shapoval

      Price, complexity of development, dimensions

    • Manfromsummer

Manual focusing is, first of all, reliable. Here you can draw an analogy with cars and their gearboxes, many manufacturers still equip their cars with manual gearboxes, and these are not some budget solutions, but rather expensive premium models.
Honda founder Soichiro Honda said, "A real driver uses 3 pedals."

      • Onotole

Come on, where is the mechanics on the "most reliable car in the universe" - the TLC200? Or maybe on Cayenne? Or X6 / X5?
In the past generations, 10-15 years ago, mechanics still occasionally (very rarely) appeared, but always in the most basic trim levels, which, as it were, hints that this is only for the sake of cost reduction, and not for reliability.
Well, as for the lenses, the expression “this is first of all reliable” I can not perceive otherwise as a quote from a famous film.
Even if it doesn’t shoot, it’s always possible to hit it on the head.

      • Mikhail

Cowboys at one time did not recognize anything except horses….

    • Manfromsummer

And the lack of autofocus on a wide-angle lens shouldn't be annoying or even embarrassing at all.

    • Oleg

So you say thank you to mirrorless cameras with their focus picking

    • York

AF is, first of all, not money, but an agreement with a camera manufacturer.

The same Canon, EMNIP, never admitted that he gave his AF protocols to anyone.
And without this, AF glasses are unpredictable, look at the mirror sigmo communities - there is all the talk about AF calibration and docking stations.

Why would the camera manufacturers, especially the market majors, be frightened by some leftist guys to allow themselves to take the loot? Moreover, in a falling market, every penny counts.

Micra allowed, but she was, in general, far from the top, and now she is almost sour.

More or less large brands from the “left”, like Yunno, are trying to reverse something - it even seems to work sometimes, but they are not going to reveal secrets any more.

      • Arkady Shapoval

Under Sony E it is easy to do af (including agreeing on the protocol)

  • Rashit

The Chinese were completely stunned with their new price tags ... Who are they going to sell it to? )))

    • Neo

For those who need a normal lens, in Nishi it is like an expensive Japanese brand

      • Victor

Nisi is still not a Japanese brand, but an exclusively Chinese brand.

        • koba

Nisi is a purely Chinese company founded in Zhuhai City (Canton Province) in 2005. Until now, he has produced mainly filters, and of very high quality and at reasonable prices, although there are some very expensive ones. From the very beginning, many foreign specialists from more than 11 countries of the world were invited to it, patents were purchased, etc. At Nisi exhibitions, one could always see representatives of companies that collaborated with them, from Australia, Germany, Japan, South Korea. He has an ultra-modern production in China, how many goods he produces on terms of OEM and ODM for other global brands, it is not known, this is a trade secret, so to speak (as at one time it was classified that almost all Apple products were produced, and are still being produced , by the Chinese giant Foxconn). Personally, I have not bought other filters for a long time, Nisi products are very popular in all countries. He produces more than one hundred types of filters, participates in almost all photography exhibitions, invites many leading photographers in China and organizes numerous workshops with their participation, invites photographers also when testing key filters before launching into production, etc. The release of this lens is not clear to me personally, but I can assume that they have already organized a new enterprise for grinding optical glass, as well as assembling lenses, therefore, this is only the first lens (except for the earlier 25 / 2.1 cinema lens). Why exactly this is - only their marketers know. I think that the lens will have excellent optical characteristics, in any case, the manufacturer indicates the minimum distortion, low CA, MDF at 0,2m, 10-blade diaphragm (Kenon and Nikon no longer remember this, and after all, all of them!). It has a full-fledged distance scale, which is simply necessary for the width, autofocus is not needed from the word at all, which is why it was not made F2.8, this reduced the weight and dimensions, the cost price, and at the same time, in theory, increased the optical characteristics. One of the best shirikov in the world is the Leukovsky 24 / 3,8, and such a diaphragm does not seem to interfere with it. I also don't understand why they started with the $ 500 market segment?

          • Andrei

More than 11 countries in the world - how much?

            • Novel

11 + Abkhazia, DPR, LPR and PMR

              • Andrei

Well, yes, there are rare specialists there.

              • Oleg

So where are the lenses of Ukraine for 30 years of independence? Any product in the European Union worth up to 20 euros is a product from China huavei and hyaomi are quite world brands, and they quite entered the photo market: yangi, 7 partisans. And the standard of living in these republics differs little from the conventional Kirovograd or Sumy regions, I know the situation from the inside. So trolling is not counted for all the fact that I am not a supporter of isolationism.

    • York

      The Chinese, for example.
      Big and nice market.

      • koba

Now about the Chinese market - there are more than 1 million professional or commercial photographers in China, they are united in the China Photographers Association. In addition, up to 40% of all photographic equipment from all world manufacturers and about 50% of expensive professional equipment are sold in China. There are also a huge number of photography lovers in China who can buy equipment of any value (according to various estimates - more than 10 million), and they buy them. Therefore, China's domestic market is more than sufficient for a manufacturing company. China's policy is to focus primarily on the domestic market, on providing its own people with consumer goods, so more and more new goods are being produced, including photographic equipment. By the way, the average Chinese buyer always trusts his own manufacturer, even in such a “non-Chinese” industry as photographic equipment.

        • Oleg

If someone thinks that China is guided by cheap labor, then probably not, there is a lot of cheap labor everywhere. But a huge sales market with an already formed rather thick layer of the middle class, yes. Some one and a half billion will buy something, but no one believes in the CIS photo market along the way. And even looking at such a non-name, you understand: that somewhere there the KMZ is sad.

        • Pokemon

“By the way, the average Chinese buyer always trusts their own manufacturer, even in such a non-Chinese industry as photographic equipment.”
          But they love imported cars.
By the way, if you look at Chinese tourists, then many are wearing expensive photographic equipment and not always of their own production. If Canon, then the lens with a red ring, if Nikon, then there is a golden ring on the lens.
PS> Special greetings to fans of China are conveyed by the Wuhan coronavirus, which the Chinese fellow biologists have “awarded” the entire Western world. But Asia, by the way, was not very sick and quickly recovered from it. Where are the reports from Laos, Kampuchea, Vietnam, Hong Kong + Taiwan, South and North Korea? And compare with the number of cases in the United States and in the Russian Federation (official figures are "drawn").

          • Andrei

In Asian countries, wearing masks is common. Therefore, the number of cases and mortality are much less.
Europeans, Americans are not used to masks. rf is another story.

          • koba

statistics for 2019-2020 by cars - more than 54% of Chinese cars were sold, this figure will increase this year. Before that, Chinese manufacturers did not spoil buyers with high-quality cars, but over the past few years, the situation here has changed dramatically, as planned. In 10 years more than 85% of cars on the local market will probably be Chinese. New electric cars are very popular and about 35 companies are already producing such cars that you need to see it ... All of all classes. Chinese tourists are essentially Chinese rich, of course they have everything, and they flaunt with expensive things. There is no Wuhan virus in nature, it was found out a long time ago that this virus was walking around the world in 2019 and people were dying, and China for the first time raised the question of a new virus, according to the latest data, in the summer of 2019, people were dying from this virus in India, but in hospitals, it was recorded as influenza or an unknown virus. The likely reason for the transmission of the virus to humans, again according to the latest data, may be a severe drought in those parts of India in 2019, when people were forced to drink water from reservoirs where they drank water and animals. In October 2019, more than 100000 people in the United States were ill with a similar or the same virus and more than 6000 died, but everyone is unanimously silent about this, by the way, the media that recently carried out a coup in the United States are silent, and there are people who continue to believe them after that ... Due to the fact that China was the first to start really fighting the virus, it was the first to stop it inside China, that is, to reduce the damage to the possible minimum. Then, during 2000, every month 20-30 cases were detected and those foci were immediately closed, but still it leaked into the city next to me, now that city is completely closed and the quarantine level in all China has been increased, masks are required and the temperature is checked at the entrance to buildings. As for the rest, nothing has stopped and as we have been working since April last year, we continue to work.

            • Andrei

Oooh, you can immediately see where a person gets information from.
About India - even without drought, people and animals from the same puddles drink water.
Koba, it's hard to read you: 1. Use unrelated words often. 2. Use “About” where it is absolutely unnecessary. "About 35 ...". Is it so hard to accurately calculate?

              • koba

this is not my personal information, it was taken from the WHO statistics. Texts have to be written very quickly, there is not even time to correct typos, I apologize ...

  • boris

When there is an excellent Zeiss Milvus 15mm f2.8, this Chinese lens is incomprehensible.
