Comments: 26, on the topic: Announcement: FUJIFILM X-S10

"Weight 165 grams with battery and memory card"

Probably, the future has not come yet, and rightly so - 465 g :)

  • San.Sanych

Who understood - write, with a bias for what this subject was released)

    • Anton

Judging by their appearance, they look like Nikonists.

    • Pokemon

      To the photograph.
In fact, this is a simplified / cheaper X-T4 with a cut in video functions.
The presence of a stub in such an inexpensive crop chamber (with a price like the D90 or D7000 at the start, if anyone else remembers) is a big plus.

    • B. R. P.

As usual, with a focus on money extraction.

  • Trueash

Now I know what to want. Videos I don't care

  • Lynx

In short - Fuji finally caved in under the videographers.
And it is pointless to rush with designs and interface.
    You can drain.

    • Pokemon

And is it time to take the Zu50?
It seems to me that the only one who is really working on crop / 1,5 cameras right now is Fuji.

      • Pokemon

I highly recommend reading this test BEFORE the END before diving into Fuji:
        https://mirrorlesscomparison.com/preview/fuji-xt3-vs-xt4/
The shutter (mechanical) is rated for 300.000 frames, there is a matrix stub, a larger battery, an excellent AF module and a bunch of good color presets.
        I would very much like to read Arcadia's test for X-T3 / X-T4 / X-Pro3.

      • Lynx

well yes. only for a photo such a screen is bullshit, unless of course you are a tripod.
The vaunted htrans - has already tired even fans of fuji, and as videographers he is kind of glad to describe.
presets, seriously? 2020 in the yard, the bike about the “awesomeness of presets” can only be sent to those who only saw the film in the cinema. Well, fanatics.
Ergonomics - floats through one place from camera to camera. Guys - make the “aperture on the lens-shutter speed wheel on the camera” your feature, as it was originally, and it would be good. No, Fuji has 2 dozen types of interfaces, each has everything shoveled from top to bottom.

I repeatedly had plans to return to Fuji, as a "notebook" in the kit to my SF.
But every time I run into either x-trance with its ch0knut watercolors, or irresponsible crop prices, or fragility “like professional cameras”, or constantly jumping interface.
Yes, there are Fuji cameras that are extremely useful and better than their classmates, such as the A5 (but without a viewfinder, hello Sony A6300!), Or the X100x series. But again, we run into either reliability, or price, or x-trans.
        ....

        • Pokemon

X-T3 and X-T4 are very popular cameras among bloggers.
          I rarely use the screen.
Not everyone likes the Xtrans, but the result is decent with a premium line of lenses.
I (and not only me) really liked Classic Chrome - I used this profile very often on the X100T. Others, however, are also good, and for each generation they add a new color profile to the rest.
About “presets, seriously? 2020 is in the yard, the story about “awesomeness of presets” is being channeled only to those who only saw the film in the movies. "
I do not agree with you, as a child I ran around with film soap dishes and loved to go to car exhibitions. So after buying the X100T, several times I caught myself on the fact that I had already seen something like that somewhere, and after reviewing the old photos, I remembered what was on the film.
In places, very similar colors and contrast are obtained.
In general, Fuji's standard color profiles are now (on fresh 26MP cameras), IMHO, one of the most successful in the photo industry.
          I sold the X100T, I had experience with the X100F, now I am looking at the X-T3 / X-T4.
If you have a negative attitude towards Fujs, well ... it means that they have burned out and are no longer yours.
It turned out that after buying X100T I also bought Propellant with Protroyka.
Also magical cameras, both for their time and in our time, are still pleasing.

          • Lynx

X-T3 and X-T4 are very popular cameras among bloggers - i.e. videographers, not professional photographers.
            ....
as a child, I ran with film zeniths and shifts. And now I shoot on film, both narrow and sf and even bf sometimes.
So - "very similar" - this is only from memories. Actually for nostalgia, for those who “remember how it was in childhood” - this marketing move is designed.
In reality, this is simply killing tonal and dynamic ranges by subtracting the "excess", while in the film there is initially more tonal range, not less.
So it didn't burn out. I just saw where this “remake” was made, and I realized if you want film quality - shoot it on film. Leave digital to the digital. She has her own big pluses
So it didn't "burn out" but rather outgrew.

I also plan to buy propyl alcohol (already the third in a row). All the same, the D40 falls short where I would like.

            • Pokemon

I also got a film camera-Canon EOS 3 this year.
I have been looking at the SF for a long time, but I don’t pull the money yet: everything aatofocus costs normal money, everything that is more than 6 * 4.5 and with AF there is still a lot of money.

              • Lynx

and on sf and af is not needed. take armor, yashiku, roll, minolta-autocord, mama RB67, for example. and enjoy for much cheaper than a new figure, for example.

      • Lynx

The only problem with the Z50 at the moment is Nikon hammering a bolt onto crop lenses, including compact fixes.
However, history repeats itself: as on Nikon's mirror crop.
to present the really best, in their classes, crop and ff bzk on the market and crap with a line of lenses, and then also close the system from non-native glass manufacturers - for this Nikon's marketers would have to pull their hands out of their ass.

        • Pokemon

"To present the really best crop in their classes"
          IMHO, this is debatable.
"And close the system from non-native glass manufacturers - for this Nikon's marketers"
They just want to maximize profits.
I would have ripped their hands out for the lack of an analog of the "screwdriver" adapter like Sony's - LA-EA4.
It was interesting for me to buy a Z6 and such an adapter and at the very least use Nikkors 35-70 / 2.8D, 28-105 / 3.5-4.5D, Tokins 28-70 / 2.8-28-80 / 2.8, etc. for this bayonet, which I have.
It would be cheap and practical, the result would suit me. Unfortunately, there is still no adapter and, apparently, will not be. By the way, people are still actively shooting with screwdriver lenses, and not only in the territory of the former USSR, but also in the West (judging by the flickr).

          • Lynx

excellent video finder, compact, lightweight, with a comfortable grip and classic amateur control. no curtsies in the direction of retro or other flirting with design. big buttons that even press with gloves.
Awesome design and ergonomics, here it is.
Excellent battery holding, giant DD (Nikon is Nikon).
immediately declared dust and moisture protection. Convenient flip-down screen, even if in one plane - (Fuji for a street model took 5 iterations to get to this, and here in an amateur camera, in fact).

11 fps, excellent af, charging from a power bank.
well, no joystick. So before he was only on completely professional carcasses.
reliability - Nikon's. No "buttons are fired after six months, just change, the release button rusts - we drip alcohol there."
and this is the first iteration of the camera!
oh yes, the price. 50-60 thousand per carcass (with a dust-moisture screen, 11 fps and an excellent matrix) and is already falling.

The adapter is a crutch. Buying a bzk is not for the sake of old manuals. for the sake of new optics and compactness - so-so occupation. Yes, you can. but then it's easier to shoot on czk.

            • Pokemon

So after all, recently at a discount of 65-69 thousand, the remnants of the X-H1 were sold after being withdrawn from the production.
USB charging was also available on the X100 series, for sure there is this in cameras of the X-T / X-Pro type.
              However, I understand you.

              • Lynx

Well, how would x-n1 be a very useful toy in general, I don't quite understand why they merged it, turned out to be too good?
                ……
Charges from yusb seemed to be small on the A-series, and on the others they appeared only in the last iterations, before that they were like those of DSLRs: "plug-in battery model with wiring."
But in general, yes, this is all "butting out of the blue"
But now Fuji FINALLY (5th iteration!) Have released a street camera with a folding screen and dust and moisture protection. Awesome, that's definitely straight, but ...
100 with a dashing thousand for a cropped camera with a fixed lens. As if very dofiga, despite the fact that they are depreciated immediately on the secondary market.
And even this “ring-adapter for protection” was not included in the kit.

          • Lynx

Understand, I really love fuji. And for their approach, and for flexibility, and in general for everything they have done in terms of bzk and their promotions.
And if I had “just money in the photo,” I would gladly put on the shelf from left to right: X70, X100V, X-Pro3, with a nickle of fixes, 18-135, 40-150, and 18-50.
But if I have money “only for one camera, it will be the main one, and for several years, without much money for repairs and replacement,” I will not buy Fuji now, more experience in using and objective features of the system.
Nikon - buy, now there is D40.
Canon, the first second penny, even 550d or 100d - I'll buy it.
            Fuji is not.

            • Victor

100d what for? For a little battery? Plastic bayonet? Other "delights" of the initial canon?

              • Oleg

                The 100d has a non-plastic mount.

              • Victor

Plastic, I advise you to take a closer look at the fastening elements.

The same “non-plastic”, as in most mirrorless crop-sleeves, and even in the first A7 and a7p.

              • Lynx

for compactness, lightness, design, quite a suitable matrix for the current amount of money, for white color, for “color-matched” compact lenses for it.

    • Gregor

Funny, it looks like your opinion changes quite often.

      • Lynx

        flesh out your insinuations
