Comments: 35, on the topic: Announcement: FUJINON ASPHERICAL LENS SUPER EBC XF 50mm 1: 1 R WR

  • B. R. P.

Have given birth to the same.

  • koba

without the release of image products, companies cannot maintain sales of their core products.

  • Evgeniy

I will join the commentator above, image goods.
maybe 50mm f1 and f1.2 are not so far in blur, plus the additional 6mm in 56mm f1.2 neutralize the difference in bokeh.
wait for the tests, wait and see.

    • Michael

And count the blur as in the budget Viltrox 85mm 1.8 (1.6 with firmware) on FF.

    • Michael

      And here is the comparison.

        • Rodion

No, just look at the lens diagram) This is the first time I've ever seen a 4-lens stitching! It's just awesome)

          • Trueash

Probably, it's all about the glue, and the lenses - so that there is something to smear on: D

  • Irina

I would look at the reviews with great interest :) Not that I'm going to buy = D

    • koba

Reviews will no doubt be enthusiastic, as Fuji and Sony, and others under duress, pay at least the top 50 reviewers for all reviews. Really objective reviews almost always disappear among them, and their authors end up abandoning the profession of a columnist, even strangely, there are amazing reviews, but the number of views they have does not even reach 1000, and paid reviews are viewed by hundreds of thousands of people. On the other hand, all companies, including Chinese, can now make a top-end lens, but it's all about the price of it.

      • Pokemon

"Fuji and Sony, and others also under duress, pay for all reviews, at least top 50 observers."
        I even wonder how much.
Readers (and those who watch videos) are not idiots for a long time. And many recheck the info. Information is spreading quickly now and it is difficult to hide it. You can hide the design flaws, as in d600, d750, d800. But this also became known.

      • Trueash

Please share the links to the Fuji paid observers. And then I somehow do not come across.

      • Eugene

I don't remember where I read that they say human psychology is such that reviews in most cases look at those goods that have already been bought. Like to justify your purchase. No one wants to watch a review in which they will beat what you gave your money for, your choice. Hence the difference in the number of views.

        • Maksim

Why focus on someone. If you buy such a rather expensive product as a camera, then you have obviously thought it over. What's the matter with some kind of a different opinion

      • Irina

There really is a stick in the spirit of the ends.
On the one hand, enthusiastic reviews of lured reviewers, on the other hand, revolting out of the blue, just in order to raise traffic to the topic, ordinary viewers and those interested are very fond of overcritical reviews.
But try to look for adequate and calm ones.

        • Pokemon

There is enough excitement from the PR service.
But I must admit that Nikon and Sonya, as well as Pentax, do not have 50 / 1.0.
          Sigma and Tamron do not.
          Canon has - 50 / 1.2L two pieces. 50 / 1L is almost impossible to buy.
Those. in general, the enthusiasm is understandable. Wanted-did - could release.

          • Rodion

It should be noted here that this is 50/1 for APS-C and UPC. For crop, and even mirrorless, it is much easier to make such a high-quality lens.
However, in any case, this lens, apparently, is noticeably better optically than the previous 56 / 1.2, and can be a good upgrade.

        • Andrei

"Stick in the spirit of the ends".
It's a bad idea to sit at photo forums instead of school.

      • Denis

        Are you seriously?

  • Konstantin

Minimum focusing distance: 70 centimeters - Why so many? Such glasses like to take a closer look at everything for a stronger blur.

    • Oleg

Not. Essentially on the crop it is a portrait lens and 70cm will allow you to take a face portrait. For a closer distance, the grip will be very small, especially at such a diaphragm.

    • Roman

On such a diaphragm, the depth of field is 1 cm by 1 meter. At 70 cm, these are millimeters of sharp space. What are you planning to shoot in such conditions? A sharp edge of a mushroom?

      • Rodion

No one excludes that the diaphragm will be compressed, for example. And I didn't like 70 cm for me and for 58 mm Piimoplan, even on a crop.

        • Roman

There are tons of other lenses for a tight aperture. Smaller MDF - greater helicoid travel - longer focusing or a special switch - unnecessary complication of the design. You yourself understand everything. The challenge here was 1.0 aperture. We solved it first of all. Everything else was compromised.

          • Rodion

You also understand everything - the increase in the stroke is insignificant in order for the MDF to make 0.5 m. Doubtful savings. F / 1.0 lenses don't have to be a compromise.

            • Roman

And how much does the course of the helicoid actually increase, are there calculations? I remember that on MDF every centimeter is given with more and more difficulty. And then you will have to pull quite a lot of glass.

              • Rodion

                For a 50mm lens - 5mm for 1m, 10mm for 0.5m.

    • Arkady Shapoval

Large MDF is associated with the optical difficulty of getting good results at different focusing distances. Here they donated MDF so as not to complicate focusing with floating elements. Perhaps also because of the complexity for automation to focus at such distances with a small depth of field (but this is rather an indirect problem).

      • Rodion

Oh, yes - floating elements. I believe.

  • after all

this is some kind of photojacking

  • Roman

Well ... As an achievement - not bad. As a working tool for an amateur, in fact, a line of cameras is doubtful.

    • Pokemon

      People make money on X-T3 / X-T4, X-Pro3, X-H1.
      Everything below is really amateur.

  • Pokemon

There is still such a moment, no one has 50/1 with AF on the crop.
The main nitpick is the price.
But at the start it is now really expensive and it makes sense to take 56 / 1.2, if you need it now for this system.
Over time, the price will fall. Fuji (and not only) is always like this.
Alternatively, if there is an adapter (not interested) Canon EF-Fuji, then you can buy it for $ 800 50 / 1.2L used.

  • Jury

I agree with Mikhail, the bokeh is somehow not impressive, although this, of course, is not for everybody!

    • Arkady Shapoval

some publications have recognized this lens as “lens of the year”
