Fujifilm X-T1. Review from the reader Radozhiva

Fujifilm X-T1 review specifically for Radozhiva prepared Misha mieshcherinov.

Fujifilm X T1

Fujifilm X-T1. increase.

Fujifilm X-T1 is the flagship APS-C type mirrorless camera, introduced in January 2014. The camera is the older brother of Fujifilm x-t10 (the differences will be described in this review) and Fujifilm x-e2 (which outwardly practically does not differ from x-e1 and x-pro1). These three cameras form the second generation of Fujifilm's mirrorless cameras and have the same sensor (X-Trans II) and processor (EXR II). All subsequent models have a different processor and a different matrix.

First impression

Lightweight, stylish, durable metal body leaves a pleasant impression. There are two color options for the camera - black and metallic. Externally, this camera is indistinguishable from the classic film rangefinder. The body is made of magnesium alloy with the addition of rubber pads. The case is very well made: nothing creaks, plays, bends or wobbles. In general, at first glance it is clear that this is the flagship of its series. The screen is located under a protective tempered glass. The grip of this camera is not very large, so it will be difficult for fans of huge DSLRs to get used to it. I really liked this grip and, despite the long fingers, I do not feel any inconvenience in using this camera. It is also worth mentioning that the x-t1 / x-t2 / x-t3 / x-t4 series have the largest grip, all other models have a much smaller grip (except for the x-h1, which looks like a hybrid between a DSLR and the standard Fujifilm design). The disadvantage of this model is that the rubber pads turned out to be fragile and very quickly swell and peel off, like the old Nikons. Interestingly, only this model suffers from this. The rest of the models use soft plastic instead of rubber. Fujifilm officially acknowledged that it was their fault and for everyone it is carrying out a free replacement of rubber inserts at official service centers, the main thing is that the warranty does not end. My copy was bought a long time ago and I got it already with slightly swollen rubber bands. Unfortunately, replacing the rubber bands at an authorized service center would cost half the cost of the camera. You can order rubber bands from aliexpress, but even there they cost a quarter of the cost of the camera, so I only have to tighten it with gasoline, which I will do soon.

Fujifilm x-t1 has dust and moisture protection (which is not the case with the younger model), of course, subject to the normal condition of the rubber pads. Another difference from x-t10 is the presence of a separate slot for a memory card on the right side panel of the device (for x-t10, the slot for a memory card is located in the battery compartment). In addition, x-t1 supports uhs u2 cards, while the younger model is limited to uhs u1. The x-t1, as before, uses one connector for the remote control and an external microphone (2.5 mm jack). If you want to shoot video with an external microphone, then you will have to look for a 3.5 mm jack adapter (from my own experience I will say that the cheapest Chinese adapter purchased on the radio market performs this task perfectly). The next generation of cameras already has a separate microphone jack. Also, the camera has Micro USB and mini HDMI connectors.

Buttons and control levers.

First of all, it is worth mentioning that this camera has 9 programmable buttons (yes, exactly 9). It's hard for me to remember a camera where you can adjust the interface so flexibly for use. This solution makes life much easier and speeds up changing important settings during shooting, completely eliminating the need to go even to the quick menu, not to mention the main settings menu. Unlike the x-t10, this camera has two new wheels - controlling the ISO parameter and setting the exposure meter operation mode. Also in this generation there is a separate button for recording video (in the first generation it was not there, and starting with the next generation, video recording is a separate operation mode).

Screen and viewfinder.

On board this model comes with a 3-inch LCD display that can be tilted 45 degrees down and 90 degrees up. A nice bonus is the screen resolution - 1.04 megapixels, in contrast to the previous generation, where it was only 0.46, and x-t10, where it was 0.9 megapixels. The picture on the screen is bright, during the day under the bright sun you can see the photos well. With this screen, I practically stopped using the viewfinder.

The viewfinder of this model has also improved. Firstly, it is now at 2.36 megapixels (unlike the first generation, where it was only 1 megapixel). Also, the viewfinder of this model has a large size (like the sony a7), a 0.77x extension, which makes the viewing process a complete pleasure. EVI made by OLED technology, has good color rendering (the picture on it is juicier than on the main screen). A nice bonus is that EVI you can consider the footage (which will help on a sunny day). The x-t10 has a much smaller viewfinder (for which they sacrificed the presence of a built-in flash. Instead, it comes with a simple external flash).

Screen refresh rate and EVI is 60 fps (which is a nice bonus after 20fps of past models). The second generation is much less likely to catch the strobe from poor lighting, but, nevertheless, sometimes the strobe is visible. The mirrorless feature is that in the electronic shutter mode (which I use in 80% of cases), the matrix reads the information line by line, while catching the entire strobe of poor lighting. In 95% of cases, this is corrected by switching to the mechanical shutter mode, the main thing is to notice the strobe in the photos in time. Also in the electronic shutter mode, a rolling shutter is noticeable, and quite strong (the wind blows, or pull your hand, and your photo will float right away). It also corrects the transition to a mechanical shutter.

The technical component

Matrix and brains

Inside this unit is a second-generation X-Trans matrix and an EXR II processor. A feature of this matrix is the use of a non-traditional Bayer filter (a filter on the matrix, thanks to which modern cameras receive a color photograph), and instead a filter developed by fujifilm stands.

The company says that this filter allows you to get rid of the moire effect and remove the low-pass filter (which degrades the sharpness of the picture). It is also claimed that thanks to this technology, the camera gives a less noisy picture at high ISO values and the similarity of noise to the film grain (instead of traditional color noise). What gives such a mechanism to ordinary users:

  1. The picture is really sharp. True, the sharpness is also affected by the quality of the lenses, which, however, is high on the Fijifilm.
  2. Noises really look like grain. Color noise appears only with strong post-processing captured on high ISO photographs. If you correctly expose the photo, and initially set the color options that you want, then you can forget about color noise.
  3. On this camera you can easily work on ISO 3200. This is a very good result. The grain is visible, but the picture does not lose much in quality. On ISO from 200 to 1000, the difference in the quality of the photo and the amount of noise is almost not noticeable. The camera is noisier than modern full-frame cameras (2014 or later). At the same time, if you compare Fujifilm x-t1 with all the DSLRs and mirrorless lenses of different companies (Nikon, Canon, Sony, Panasonic, Olympus), it’s out of competition (I’ll just add this to the photo. I’ll mention separately for the video). In this segment, the Fujifilm surpassed everyone, and in a fairly short time. Especially when you consider that now this camera on a used market costs $ 250-300 (which is equal to the price of a used Nikon d5400 / d7000 and Canon 750d / 70d), which show significantly worse noise results.
  4. Colour. Many people remember fujifilm for the unrivaled colors of Finepix s3pro and s5pro. And the new mirrorless ones retained these juicy, tasty colors. Personally, I, first of all, chose Fujifilm for this. Also, on-camera jpeg files give an excellent result, preserving all the charm and variety of colors. So if you are looking for a camera with a good jeep - this is your option.

ISO range: 200-6400 standard, 100-51200 advanced. At the same time, the extended range is available only for shooting in jpeg format and only with a mechanical shutter. Such a high minimum ISO is not always practical, and often you have to cover the aperture (removing blur), but, over time, you get used to it (or buy an nd filter).

Burst shooting and clipboard

Regardless of the physical or mechanical shutter, there are two options for burst shooting: CL (3 frames per second) and CH (8 frames per second). The clipboard contains 22-23 RAW files (raw Fujifilm format is designated .raf), 21 RAW + JPG. The write speed to the card directly depends on the card, the slot for memory cards in this model is high-speed.

Image compression

Fujifilm x-t1 has a 14-bit rav with quite gentle compression (the ravas from a 16-megapixel matrix weigh 31-34 megabytes). Interestingly, the Sony a7 II, with a 24 megapixel sensor, and without compression, files weigh approximately 48 megabytes. If you reduce the reading area of Sony to 16 megapixels (which is 34% less than that of Fuj), then the ravs weighed 32 megabytes (although they seem to be without compression). Perhaps due to such weak compression, the ravines of x-t1 are quite easy to edit, and the shadows can be edited by more than 3 stops. In general, the dynamic range of x-t1 seemed to me the same as that of the aforementioned Sony a7 II (and somewhere on the expanses of the English-speaking Internet I saw confirmation of this), though if we compare the value to ISO 1600.

Jpeg files retain all the taste and richness of colors. When photographing "for myself" I sometimes leave only the on-camera jpeg. True, it is worth mentioning that the camera has a noise reduction function that starts soaping the jeep from the ISO 3200 level. Although the settings have the ability to adjust the power of noise reduction algorithms, it seems to me that there isn’t much difference when changing this parameter. In raw format this problem is absent.

Color profiles

Instead of the usual “landscape, portrait, room” styles and adjusting contrast, saturation and color tone, the Fujifilm company inserted color profiles of the company's most famous and popular films, such as provia, astia, velvia classic chrome, etc. into their devices. In total, Fujifilm x-t1 has 11 film profiles, each of which gives its own unique color reproduction. It is also possible to adjust four parameters: all the usual sharpness, then color saturation, and, in a way, unique brightness settings for light and dark portions of the image. This way you can smooth out the difference between the contrasting areas of the image.

Another feature of Fujifilm cameras is the dynamic range function, with the ability to set to 100%, 200% and 400%. In fact, it is familiar to all active d-lighting, but, unlike all other manufacturers, in fuji this function also works in raw mode. With its help, shadows and highlights of the image are better processed, and also the difference in the image itself is less. With this function turned on, when shooting up to 400 ISOs, there will be standard 100%, 400% can be put on ISOs over 200%, and 800% can be put on ISOs over 400.

White balance

When shooting outdoors, I use automatic white balancebecause it is almost always accurate. Whatever lens I use (natively with a chip, or the old manual through an adapter without chips), for the year of using this unit I very rarely noticed a miss on white balance. In the room, of course, there are already mistakes (interestingly, the other day I shot one scene on my native 27mm and on Soviet Jupiter 8m, and there was a miss on my native lens bband with jupiter an exact hit. Usually for cameras with native glasses bb taken much more accurately, but Fujik and broke this rule). Indoors, of course, it is better to use manual tuning. bb, although personally, I still often take pictures on the machine. Fortunately, even with a miss in 2000-3000 K, and even at high ISO, the ravs can be easily corrected without loss of details, colors and with minimal added noise (I somehow missed 3200K at ISO 3000, and, surprisingly, upon amendment white balance in lightroom, the photo has not deteriorated in quality. Perhaps this opportunity is provided due to weak compression of photos). It is also worth mentioning that when setting the capture mode white balance, it is possible to adjust the color tone, including for automatic mode. The Japanese even thought up such a trifle.

Auto focus

Fujifilm x-t1 has 77 contrast AF points and 15 phase (located in the center of the frame). Autofocus has two modes of operation: tracking and single. It is also possible to use all AF points, autofocus zones (7x7 grid selection), or one AF point. It is worth mentioning that when using phase autofocus points, focusing is many times faster and quieter. I almost always use either zonal autofocus or point by point. In poor lighting conditions, even when choosing a central area where there are phase sensors, contrast AF points are used in 85%. After some updates in this camera, autofocus appeared on the faces and eyes (yes, initially there was no such option). Autofocus on faces works well, with it the number of frames with a defocus will decrease dramatically. In good light, it almost always catches faces, in poor light it catches less often, and is more sensitive to turning and tilting the face. Focus on the eyes is possible in three ways: on the right, on the left, or on both eyes. It is worth noting that the camera sees the eyes only at larger sizes than the pectoral one, and not always (this was the first Fujifilm experiment with autofocus on the eyes. Autofocus has improved significantly in subsequent generations). Also, sometimes autofocus sees faces where they are not (but it is literally for a moment, and then the face detection is removed). Most likely, this is due to incomplete mechanisms for determining persons. In tracking focus mode, face tracking is possible (which makes life much easier). There is also a tracking focus function on each frame in the series, but this feature is only available in the mechanical shutter mode. I would not say that there is a focus on all frames, but I succeeded in shooting tricks with jumping on bicycles, and I received a series of sharp frames of cyclists in flight, and this is enough for me from my camera.

I will not argue that here is the most tenacious and accurate autofocus that I have seen. At the same time, autofocus copes with all 100 tasks in performing in its price category, in principle, there are no competitors in performing ordinary tasks (individual photo shoots, shooting weddings, sequential shooting of non-sports events and shooting of non-high-speed sports events).

Other features

  1. This model has a 2.5mm jack input, while it can be used for both a microphone and a remote control. Its operation mode is regulated in the settings menu, in the video settings tab
  2. In a mechanical shutter, the shutter speed range is from 30s to 1 / 4000s + bulb, in the electronic shutter, from 1s to 1 / 32000s.
  3. This model can use flash from any manufacturer and under any system, the main thing is that the central sync contact is. I used on it canon speedlight of various versions, Nikon sb700, copies of yongnuo and make for different systems, and even an incomprehensible flash from the nineties. But there are two features. The first is that in order for the flash to work, it requires you to turn on the mechanical shutter and turn off silent mode (in general settings, on the first page). At the same time, you can muffle system sounds to 0 so that nothing distracts you with unnecessary barking. If the mechanical shutter can still be understood, then the second thing I am not destined to understand.
  4. You cannot listen to the sound from the video in silent mode. At the same time, it is written, and there is sound on the video.
  5. This model has a booster (the x-t10 does not have it). In Ukraine, only the original is sold (with a price of $ 180), on ali express I found copies. This booster makes it possible to use an additional one battery, and has a shutter button and bracketing autofocus. And that’s it. For x-t2, for example, a turbo mode opens with a booster (the camera accelerates, the video recording length is extended), a headphone jack, and two batteries can already be accommodated in the booster. Another feature of the boosters is that you do not need to remove the battery from the camera, and the booster is connected to additional contacts on the bottom panel. Thus, xt1 with a booster has two batteries, xt2 has three. Also, the booster battery is used first, then the camera, and there is the possibility of replacing the battery in the booster without turning off the camera.
  6. I have an original Japanese battery with an autofocus lens withstanding 900 frames raw + jpeg. Chinese counterparts, of course, live much less.
  7. Through adapters, it becomes any optics. Kenon, Nikon, m42, m39 - everything can be attached. It works with rangefinder lenses. For example, I have Jupiter 8m from the rangefinder Kiev 4, which I calmly use on my Fujifilm.
  8. Guaranteed shutter life - 250 thousand shots. This is enough for a very long use. That and, in general, you would rather break the case, drown the camera, break all the keys, kill the matrix, than wait for the shutter to die.
  9. The thread for the tripod is not located under the center of the mount, as is usually done in cameras, but near the battery compartment. If you want to change the battery while the camera is attached to a tripod, you have to remove the tripod stand.
  10. Fujifilm has applications for mobile devices (android, ios) and computers (windows, mac os), which allows Wi-Fi to transfer materials from the camera and provides full remote access to the camera, with the ability to change all the basic camera settings. I used remote access when photographing stars (to remove possible shaking from pressing the shutter button). By default, photos from the camera are transmitted in reduced quality. This is easy to change in the remote connection settings. But there is one limitation - only jpeg files are transferred through the application to mobile devices. Perhaps this is due to the low data transfer rate, and it takes several minutes to transfer a 34-megabyte rav. Also, the data transfer speed greatly depends on the distance between the camera and the phone (even an extra couple of centimeters can affect the transfer speed).
  11. In addition to wireless control, and a 2.5mm jack, on the front of the camera there is a slot for a remote shutter release. This socket is tightly closed with a plastic plug.
  12. A sloppy user (whom I must admit to being) can easily damage the decorative metal coating of the case (thanks to which it gets its black color). At the same time, the last owner of this camera (I took it on the secondary market) for five years of operation has kept it in an almost perfect appearance.
  13. There is no built-in flash in the camera. Instead, it comes with a small external flash, which, however, is 60% more powerful than the x-t10's built-in flash.

Sample Photos

Shooting video

Fujifilm x-t1 allows you to shoot video in the quality of 1280x720 (hd) and 1920x1080 (full hd) with a frame rate of 24, 25, 30, 50 and 60 frames per second. The bitrate is 38 Mbps. One of the pluses is that to change the frame rate you just need to click on it in the menu. For other manufacturers, to switch between 25/50 to 30/60 fps, you must first change the profile from pal to ntsc, and often then the camera will need to format the memory card.

And now about the sick. The video codec that uses the Fujifilm x-t1 has striking disadvantages:

  • A fairly small transition from light to overexposure, from shadows to disastrously black. And then it doesn’t correct in any way
  • The minimum possible ISO value for shooting video is 400. It is impossible to shoot without a strong nd filter on a sunny day
  • Loud noise at ISO above 800
  • Strong contrast on the video, which can hardly be removed in the settings of the camera
  • Low bitrate gives no chance for edits
  • The picture is a bit soapy on the video.

Of the advantages, it is worth noting the presence of a built-in stereo microphone, and the presence of autofocus on the video, including the face tracking. In the video, the speed and tenacity of autofocus is not the same, but still - autofocus is there.

Shooting a video on it during the day is a very difficult task, which requires a lot of extra effort. At the same time, shooting indoors, with the presence of playing light (apartments, concerts), on the contrary, helps to reveal the corporate color of the fuji (and then you get great pleasure from shooting the video). But, despite this, Fujifilm x-t1 / x-t10 is a story about a photo, not about shooting a video. Starting with Fujifilm x-t2, the situation with video has changed dramatically, and now many bloggers and videographers have liked x-t3 / x-30 / x-t4 / x-h1.

With the advent of Z 6, the meaning of buying crop from Fuji with such a price is somehow lost ...

    • Pokemon

You would at least look at the prices of the current model, and then you would say something.
Then, the camera itself does not take pictures. Under it you still have to buy lenses.
And if you compare the prices of lenses with the corresponding mounts and cameras, then not everything is so simple.
And let's drag in the Prices for TWICE, since we decided to compare sour with soft.
TWICE CROPS are so small and light, and cameras and glasses for them should also be cheap, but they are something OH ...

      • Vladimir

As I understand it, are you comparing the NEW Z 6 and the old XT-1?

      • Vladimir

FUJIFILM X-T4 Mirrorless Digital Camera (Body Only, Black) - $ 1,699.00
        Nikon Z 6 Mirrorless Digital Camera (Body Only) - $ 1,796.95

The difference in price just knocks to your knees ...

        • Pokemon

          Vladimir, are you adequate now?
X-T3 / X-T4 has a direct focus on video, on video bloggers.
X-Pro3 is the same, in fact, as X-T3, but more for those who take pictures and cost other money.
X-T4 is a hot new product that came out and is sold without discounts.
Then, Vladimir, why Z6, and not the new D780 ?! Let's compare the X-T4 with the D780 for the price or not kosher? Then, to Z6 you need to buy an adapter for beggarly glasses from the F mount.
Without an adapter you have to buy only the original expensive glass for the new system.
Then, I repeat, I don’t know who and where the price “knocks”. Any system is nothing without glass. You compare with the price of camera + lens one and the second system.
At the same time, you can also compare with the Panasonic Lumix DC-GH5S + Panasonic 12-35mm f / 2.8 II ASPH. OIS Lumix GX Vario. But comparing things for the price is strange.
Here's how things are in the Russian Federation: 144 rubles. the starting price of the X-T990, which will also fall over time, like the X-H4 (recently they were given for 1K new in Mvideo at a discount). X-T70 sold for less than a month. Is the X-H4 worse than the X-T1 by half? Hardly.
Naked Z6 without an adapter in the Russian Federation costs from 134 990 ₽ and discounts have already begun on it, maybe it's not a novelty.
The new D780 costs 154 rubles. And in your opinion it turns out that this is the most profitable system, since you can hang a trash lens 990 years ago under the F mount on it and it will work.
In fact, these are 3 different systems and 3 different cameras with different positioning and directionality.

          • Vladimir

Do you seriously call Sigma Art a F mount lens with trash lenses?

            • Pokemon

              No.
Above, I wrote about a used budget from a flea market.
              Good: compare the purchase price of the X-T4 + XF 16-55mm f / 2.8 R LM WR, as an option X-T3 + XF 16-55mm f / 2.8 R LM WR with the purchase price from scratch z6 / d780 with any new 24-70 /2.8.
If price is the most important factor, then the new d610 and d750 are sold with significant discounts.

I honestly don’t understand why many people cling to x-t3 / x-t4 when there are good x-h1 or x-pro3. X-T3 / X-T4 have the same positioning as the Sony a6500 / a6600, but they don’t often complain about Sony for their prices.

              • Michael

As an analogue of the XF 16-55mm f / 2.8 R LM WR, you need to take 24-70 f4

          • Michael

Well, crop matrix is worse than FF, that's a fact.
If, in addition to video, you also need better quality in the photo, it's better to take the Z6.
About F mount you shouldn’t be so, the last glasses under F mount are definitely better than Fuji, the most discussed Fuji 56mm 1.2 in sharpness on an open one, for example, will give way to Sigma 85mm 1.4, and the flu will be worse.
And fuji lenses are clearly with an extra markup.
So yes, not everything is so simple.
Fuji is not for those who count money) It is bought because "I like it and that's it" and cool "twists" =)

            • Pokemon

              Some models are bought for video (x-t3-4), others for photos (x-pro, xh, x100t / f / v).
For photography, there are advantages - Fuji has a 26MP back-illuminated sensor. The sensor is about the same as that of the Samsung NX-1, which was sold at the price of Nikon d750 or a little more and was often used for video shooting, as it coped well with it.

              • Vladimir

                Once again:
With the advent of Z 6, the meaning of buying crop from Fuji with such a price is somehow lost ...

Vladimir: and again, these are different categories of customers. Who is shooting the video on Nikon?
What are you clinging to the price of the camera? Systems must be compared complete with glasses. And not if you compare, then the starting prices. The price of the X-T4 will fall in six months. This also happened with z6. I don’t understand that this is how they hitched to starting prices for haste. No money? Go to work.

I have uploaded a video on YouTube with a 1,5 hour concert of the Leningrad group, filmed with a normal Canon camcorder!

X-T3 has been one of the mustbuy cameras for foreign video bloggers since its release.
Together with a couple of TWICE Olympus and Panasonic TWICE.
I do not know about the lenses for Fuji, which are more expensive than L-from Canon.
Write a list of AF-S L-k from Canon, which are more expensive than the corresponding glasses for Fuji.
If it is only money and they are the main criterion, take a look at your leisure prices for this technique:
      Panasonic Lumix DC-G9, Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II, Panasonic Lumix GH5, Olympus OM-D E-M1X, Panasonic Lumix DC-GH5S, Olympus ED 12-40mm f / 2.8 Pro, Panasonic Vario-Elmarit 12- 60mm f / 2.8-4.0 ASPH. OIS Lumix G Leica DG, Panasonic 12-35mm f / 2.8 II ASPH. OIS Lumix GX Vario.
Comparing systems at a price is strange. Native lenses for Canon mount for the new ff UPC of this brand also cost a lot of money. Native lenses for the new Z mount also cost a lot of money. Sony’s native aperture glasses also cost a lot of money. And prices are rising (and will continue to grow), because the target audience is choosing iPhones (and some new 108 (!) Mp Xiaomi phones due to lack of money).

I have never heard in your arguments for Fuji that they are being removed by top wedding men and sports journalists at the Olympics.
And so, for Instagram - one pampering.

        • Pokemon

I've seen weddings with Fujami. I do not know whether they are top-end or not - the coronavirus has leveled everyone.
I know that they take sports journalists and photo correspondents at opposition rallies, as I participated in this, this is a different market and a different category of clients.
Fuji tried to enter this market with X-H1, but with the release of X-T3 she killed X-H1 and now Fuji is developing a new top. Maybe someone uses a Sony a9, but I have not seen them yet.
I would not say that X-T3 / X-T4 for instagram. People make money on them on youtube. For photos, these are also good cameras, like the X-Pro3.
For serious work, Fuji has medium-sized GFX (the same GFX100), which not many people know about and even less who held in their hands.

          • Andrei

            I know about the GFX100, I held the GFX100 - it's space! A device of alien origin!
I own T3, switched from D750, which was wildly fragile (google NIKON D750 err issue). I have XF16-55mmF2.8 R LM WR - cannot be compared with F4 lenses, because the aperture does not change, and the depth of field is noticeable only in the laboratory or pixel wandering :-)

Fujifilm T3 is not just a camera, it's a sex camera)) That moment when you shoot masterpieces for a masterpiece) IMHO of course.

            • Pokemon

On one English-language forum there was a phrase: "If Nikon wants to self-destruct, do not bother them, this is their business, just move away from their cameras." I will not switch to Z. I'll leave D4 for now, maybe I'll catch D3x in Japan with minimum mileage. And that's all with Nikon. I don't plan to buy more of their cameras.

But it doesn't bother me, I don't do video. But in addition to the original glasses, I shoot with Soviet lenses. And everyone is happy. So don't be afraid of what you don't know. "Colour. Fujifilm is remembered by many for the unrivaled colors of the Finepix s3pro and s5pro. And the new mirrorless cameras have kept those juicy, delicious colors. Personally, I first of all chose Fujifilm for this. Also, on-camera jpeg files produce excellent results, retaining all the charm and variety of colors. So if you are looking for a camera with a good jeep this is your option. ”
Here I do not agree with the author, maybe I have S3Pro, S5Pro, Fuji X100T and I can borrow X100F.
The X100T (and I think other Fuji cameras on this matrix) have their own color profiles, they are very, very pleasant and do not require intervention. Even if something does not suit you, everything is flexibly regulated in the chamber. Both Provia and Velvia and Classic Chrome are very good. Classic Chrome is especially good in sunny weather for street and architecture photography.
I also regularly review flickr photos from other Fuji cameras.
S3Pro and S5Pro have camera jpg and original RAF converted to 16-bit TIFF using the original Hyper Utility V3 are different from each other and differ from modern Fuji cameras. S3Pro frames have a slightly lower DD than S5Pro (DD was turned to the maximum in both cases, and the lowest possible was set). S5Pro renders colors more accurately - shades of red, yellow, blue are especially good. I would venture to say that the S5Pro's color reproduction is more accurate than the GFX series cameras. Everything that you saw with the eye yourself, everything that the visual memory remembered, you have. The main thing is to hang the lens sharper and faster on the camera.
At S3Pro, the photo is brighter, AutoBB is not as correct and is often entered, DD is not as wide as that of S5Pro. The colors are pleasant in the photo for the eye, but not quite accurate as he himself saw them live.
S3Pro / S5Pro frames do not need to be edited exactly. On S3Pro, the frames sometimes turn out even atmospheric than on S5Pro (for example, I was at an exhibition in Sokolniki and the frames received in the pavilion reminded me of the frames that I received on film in the late 90s (I heard similar words from several photos with the Classic preset Chrome at X100T)). The cameras, of course, are not perfect and are now outdated, but they are still able to please the photographer.
PS> I bought the legendary Nikkor 28-70 / 2.8D from the owner of one of the restaurants in Moscow.
And we suddenly started talking about Fujah. He bought an X-T3 and decided to sell his Nikon and all the lenses to it. A man under 50, we are standing in the kitchen of his restaurant in the center of Moscow, his subordinates are scurrying around, and the man says that after selling Nikon and seeing Fuji, especially the Classic Chrome preset, he remembered his old passion for photography, which faded after switching to Nikon .
I know that now haters will come flying in and talk, but now how I will take my sour crop (or D800 ...) and how I will wind up the color ... Come on guys. Go and twist. God help you.

I have had this device since the first "hours" after it appeared on sale. I shoot everything for them. Including weddings, schools, etc. Still. Great camera, great optics. I had a full frame before him - I parted without regret. Surprised in the review about gum. There is no such problem even close. However, on any cameras in my hands such a jamb was not observed. From here I begin to agree with someone expressed the idea of the different composition of sweat and fat on the hands. Reception of various substances and fluids inside the body (drugs) or the use of external medicinal and cosmetic ointments-creams can also affect. The problem was discussed with the Nikons, where it also manifested itself not without exception, but selectively. It is interesting to record a survey on the site.

    • witness

Well, how much money did you pay when buying from the “first hours” on sale? In 2014?
Given that now, on May 16, 2020, the Yandex Market XT3 costs 108000 rubles, and the XT4 -405000 rubles with two lenses (18-55 and 50-135).
Are there people who agree to pay from 1500 euros to 5000 euros for crop ???

      • Basil

Paid how much sellers asked at the store. Moreover, having shot them, he merged the FF along with the L-kami and bought the M1 to help, and now I have another Pro-1. Which is quite happy. :)

        • witness

They did not answer the direct question how much it cost

      • Konstantin

“There are people who agree to pay between 1500 euros and 5000 euros for a crop ???”

Yes) I almost became such an idiot ... I bought a Sony A6500 kit + 50mm fix for it for almost 2000 euros that week to replace my Nikon D5100. As a result, I took it back to the store after 2 days.

I did not see the point in Sony for myself. You can forget about compactness, the video is very cool, but only with manual focus, the camera is not able to keep the child in focus on the machine (I really have GoPro for shooting a child).

Focusing on the photo is good, with the whale very fast during the day, but at the D5100 level in the dark. The colors are not bad, but there isn’t much difference with the D5100. Yes, 24mp is very cool, you can crop a third of the frame and still get an image of 10-12MP.

Returned and do not regret. The D5100 doesn’t do much worse with the photo, and for the video (not staged, Sony is just a beast) GoPro is better. It is clear that with a manual focus and a shallow depth of field, Sony has a picture like in a movie, but for a family video shooting where everyone is actively doing something, running around and reshooting there is no way Sony's autofocus is not suitable.

        • Pokemon

          The a6500 and a6600 have exactly the same purpose as the X-T3 / X-T4 or GH5 / GH5s.
They are taken for video in 90% of cases.
          Sony has cheaper models a6300 / a6400.
Sony crop prices are such that it makes sense to look at the A7m2 or A7m3.

The whale lens included with the X-T3 is pretty good.
After the release of the X-T4 in the Russian Federation, Fuji said she would leave the X-T3 on sale, simply lowering the price.
Perhaps, up to the level of X-H1, which costs less than 70 thousand rubles (at the start, they also asked for a lot, but everyone has forgotten about it now).

Those who buy Fuji XT3 and XT4 for themselves probably do not count money and do not sit on Radozhiva!
For example, compare how many reviews about these cameras are on the same Yandex Market, although this is not an indicator, but still!
              90 reviews for Canon Mark3-Mark 4 and 10 reviews for Fuji XT3!

              • Andrei

                Here's my review - 11:
T3 is just a bitten camera that came to replace my fragile D750 (google NIKON D750 err issue and we’ll understand everything at a glance). As a photographer, he also took it for his girlfriend's heart, who wants to get involved in video.

                1. Steeper in terms of photo / video capabilities and price, no one has.
                2. Having figured out the camera settings in terms of color / imitation of films, I can say that I forgot what photo editors such as Lightroom and Kapchurvan.
                3. The photo, even at ISO12800 (the limit is not extended), has a grainy noise and is in no way colored.
                4. Video capabilities are amazing, the video can be painted even with an imitation of film and not be lost in quality, AF can be customized to the style of the future movie (dynamic or soft).
                5. Lightness and size, as one person said about DSLRs: “The moment when you work with a Ruby TV, in the case of which you can hide money.”
                6. The depth of field of lenses in no way depends on their aperture ratio, i.e. if 2.8 is written, then 2.8 means, but the depth of field will certainly be closer to 4 (3.5 approximately), but this is almost not noticeable on the frames.
                7. The price of optics is really more pleasant than the price of optics of potential competitors (Z, R, E), Sonev's so generally something incomprehensible and incredible ...

              • Michael

                1. It’s debatable, the z6 is about the same level, since the photo is better and the video is normal.
                2. Personally, I always shoot in RAW, because in addition to imitations, DD is sometimes needed, and there is more information about the colors.
                3. Now there is not much color noise on other systems, and it is much easier to choke in the editor than brightness.
                5. T3 would not say that it is very easy.
                6. Depends, 2.8 * 1.5 (crop factor) = 4.2, on the frames there is a difference between 24-70 f2.8 and 24-70 f4, that is, quite noticeable.
                7. And here it is, Fujinon 56mm 1.2 costs even more than Sony FE 85mm 1.8 percent by 50%, but for example, on an open softer. (O_o)

About the gum. When Arkady spoke about Nikon D90, that she had a “disease” - falling off gum, he also believed with difficulty. I considered this to be some kind of extreme operating conditions, until after 11 years of use the same problem got out of me. My hands do not sweat, I handle the camera with care and keep it clean. Apparently, over time, the properties of the glue change. When I cleaned it before gluing, I noticed that the glue remains still sticky, but not enough to hold the gum. So far, only one gum has peeled off, the one under the thumb.

It makes no sense to compare carcasses in size, because Sigma has perfectly shown that if all the mechanics are thrown out of the camera, leaving essentially only the senor, bayonet and release button, then a full-frame carcass is easily obtained in the size of compact double-crop models, and Panasonic perfectly showed that double-crop can be the size of a full-frame DSLR, if convenience is paramount. And again for those who fucked googled.
The systems are comparable in size, Fuj is not cheaper than Nikon, while Nikon is FF. Plus - Nikon with an adapter has a huge fleet of optics available to you.

But if you love Fuj, are ready to pay more, do not want to process photos and enjoy a film simulator - help. And I have a film simulator built into DxO. :)

Of course, you very beautifully compared the top fudge portrait glass to the average Nikon landscape painter. You, I suppose, have no doubt that when Nikon releases glass with parameters 85 / 1.2 on the z mount, it will cost like a cast-iron bridge?

                And weigh about the same

Not the same, unfortunately the comparisons are made with the T4 from the viewfinder rubber band, and the Z6 from the edge, which is incorrect. Add another cm here and there is a difference of 0.5 cm there is 1 cm ... And the weight is almost 70 grams. Add to this the weight and size of the lenses ;-)

When I went fujimaniya I purchased this camera. After Nikon D610, the colors were very acidic, but after that I got used to it. Contact was just encouraging and my neck no longer ached. But let the crop adepts trample - there is not enough full-frame picture on the crop. And, realizing how many advantages there are in fuji, he sold and bought Nikon d750. And, oh gods, again the picture pleases, very juicy, deep. But at home, near (photographing is a hobby, no one talks about the studio) rushing around with a DSLR rushing around again it became lazy, and where to go is both hard and sorry. And now the fujimania at that time passed, the prices went down and again bought the same fujik xt1. Now it was not a pity to take a fujik on a trip, and if for the soul / quality - Nikon d750 is just right. But again there is a problem - the eternal dilemma of what to take in Kiev to take out - it's hard to walk with a DSLR, that already "fashion" for DSLRs has passed (I don't care about fashion, of course) and a man with such a bandura in his hands again looks not harsh as sometime. And when you take a fujik, you catch yourself thinking that you could have made a better photo with Nikon (personal opinion, for me personally). In the end, the fujik swore only to carry on travel. But here's the trouble again - the fujik started to fail: it hung up, the backlight was on all the time, turning the switch did not give anything - only the physical removal of the switch. And again thoughts creep into my head - and this has never happened with DSLRs, carry it on all day - a photo in a split second, there are no lags, the battery is not discharged properly. But size and weight ...
Total. I sold everything and bought Nikon Z6. Far from perfect, there are a lot of stocks in it. But the photos are cool (now no compromise), the sizes are more or less compact (with native lenses of course, no FTZ) and, pah-pah, until it fails. Of course, anyway even less, anyhow soup was able to cook. But our whole life is in some way a compromise;)

There is a feeling, possibly false, that a fairly large number of unsubscribers are either bots, or members of some sect. In all their posts, literally one or two thoughts are repeated in different ways, and even through the Internet, you can feel some kind of obsession or something. For me, marketing is not a specialty, but rather a diagnosis. The most surprising consequence is that select cameras seem to sense this ill-intentioned atmosphere — that not all of the Earth-minds present are present. ;)

    • Koba

Marketers are successfully introducing certain "positive" aspects of their products into the minds of buyers, Fuji is no exception, their marketing works perfectly, I also have it and I'm even going to buy Fujifilm 55-200 for my numerous lenses. Each camera is good at something, it really is. But then users also successfully repeat what they paid for, and a lot of money. In fact, a large number of people are sitting here happily because they are not ready to pay a lot of money for equipment, they do not have that kind of money, and the professionals, of course, will pay and pay, they earn this and they should have top-end equipment. And photographs, and excellent ones, depend little on the camera or system, even on the top-quality of the lens, although the top-end ones allow you not to lose frames where others “lose” them.

      • Pokemon

Koba, the marketing department of any company works for its benefit.
        This is normal.

Fuji has a representative office in Ukraine: FUJIFILM Ukraine LLC [Subsidiary]

Fuji usually loyally gives his cameras for tests even to little-known youtube bloggers.
      If they give Arcadia X-T3 / X-T4 / X-Pro 3 it will be excellent.
With great pleasure I read the test of Arkady on any of the above cameras.
In the end, m. someone from Kiev would lend him one of these cameras for a couple of days.

  • Koba

“The camera is more noisy than current full-frame cameras (2014 and newer).” Unfortunately, I have to upset the owners of this camera - I have a camera released before 2014, as well as a Fuji camera with the same sensor (X-E2s), and I also used X-T1, X-Pro1, X-Pro2 for several days. And my camera surpasses them many times, especially at high ISO, especially if you look not only at the noise itself, but also at preserving the dynamic range (real, and not by processing inside the camera curves), I’m not saying anything that Fuji is tricky with the concept of ISO (much has been written about this on the Internet, and there are videos), getting fairly low noise by lengthening the shutter speed. So do not write what you yourself have not experienced. And so, the camera and this sensor are really excellent for their class, although I have complaints about the camera and the lenses - it is often impossible to work with them in manual mode at all, the ring of the electronic spinner gets confused at the slightest touch of something (in real life, more 30-40% of the marriage from the shooting day!), There is another disadvantage - the rear wheel for changing the diaphragm also turns at the slightest touch, hands or bags, if you shoot incognito, the amount of marriage also exceeds 30-40 percent! Further - the autofocus in the new cameras has been fixed, accelerated, and this is the problem. Further - it is impossible to work for a long time with the battery, it will sit down at the most unnecessary moment. Fuji has some wonderful lenses that you can work with manually (they have an aperture ring and therefore the aperture twist will no longer jump from touch), as well as with a full range of distances, but such lenses cost more than similar full-frame (!), but they are excellent, first of all it concerns 16mm / F1.4, though for the price of this you can buy masterpieces Zeiss 25/2 or 21 / 2.8 for full-frame DSLRs (used, of course, but they will serve for many years, which can not be said from autofocus lenses from f G or other companies). I almost forgot about my main camera (and I have 5 of them, even five different systems, so I can judge them personally), with which, as I already wrote, this and all subsequent cameras from Fuji, and not only, fail when we are talking about high ISO - this is the good old Nikon D3s (I'm not talking about how you can work with it and at what speed you can work in almost any conditions, losing no more than 2-3% of frames). I repeat - the ceosor in this Fuji is really excellent, and you can get excellent results with him, but you will not be able to work with him at the level of Nikon D3s or similar cameras from Canon, so I work with Nikon D3s, and I always have Fujifilm X- E2s for those occasions, if a large camera must be hidden (about 10% of cases in real life). I can also note one specific area of application of Fuji's cameras with this sensor - this is the digitization of books - where large megapixels are unnecessary information and slow down at times the processing process, but you need a lens with a very high resolution throughout the entire frame field. The ideal option (after checking more than 100 different combinations!) Turned out to be this particular sensor with a Fujifilm 27 / 2.8 lens, which is also not very expensive.

Koba, with all due respect, but not kosher to compare D3s even with the X-T3 / X-T4.
Different price level. I had D3s. This is a great camera, it's hard to find fault with it, except that the D4 is better than it in many ways. These are great cameras for shooting in extreme conditions. These are very tenacious cameras that you can work with at rallies.
Fuji had only one attempt in this segment - X-H1, it failed, due to internal cannibalism, this camera became unnecessary after the release of X-T3 on a very successful matrix.
Now the X-H1 is being given for less than $ 1000. And soon, the X-T3 will also be sold.
The current 26MP back-illuminated matrix is very good, but it's not FF and it's just stupid to compare them “for the price” isn't correct.

      • Koba

By the way, I once tested the X-H1 for myself and decided for myself that after my X-E2s I will buy it as soon as it becomes cheaper, this is a really good camera, and easy to use, its autofocus works 10 heads better than my camera, and in general the X-H1 is made in such a way that nothing accidentally jumps anywhere in operation, apparently the company took into account the sad experience of old cameras. By the way, today I discovered that my X-E2s shoots video and does it well, at least for memory more than good. Fuji cameras have another hidden advantage - they look beautiful, that is, they look like classic cameras, especially with a silver top.

        • Pokemon

X-H1 has already seriously fallen in price and can be considered as a purchase.
Fuji in the development of this camera really tried to make a solid camera.

          • Koba

Today I called back a familiar and trusted seller, but he fell in price, but less than $ 730 he still got it. I think that in a year the price will be around $ 580, and then the thought of buying will appear. If the company release X-H2 then the price will drop even faster.

With any (old on CCD or new) Fujas, as well as with Sigma, it is better to process them with equal native converters.
Perhaps that is why DXOmark does not have tests of modern Fuji or any Sigma on Foveone.
Not because they don’t bring money in suitcases (though ...), but something else prevents testers from adequately assessing the result of the same GFX100.

From Fuji, I only have s5 pro. I love her very much and will never part with her.
I use Nikon for work. By the way, D3s is almost no different from D4 / D4s. But it doesn’t matter.

Fuji has its own unique charm. If the photographer is delighted with her, this is the most important thing. So he will drag her everywhere and take more photos. Good and necessary.
After 10 years, the family will look at them and sob with emotion. The wife will call him smart girl and gently look into the eyes.
    That's it.

For example, I still do almost all the most important family photos on the Nikon D70s, with the cheapest lens. The rest on vacation is either a pity or simply not convenient. And so the grown children have already learned to shoot them.

Hello. Probably the author was mistaken. Fujifilm x-t1 has 77 contrast AF points and 15 phase (located in the center of the frame). All 49 points of them are only 9 phase.

Hello everyone, tell me which camera is better than x pro1 or this xt1? Which one is better to take? For manual lenses only? Thanks for the advice

    • twm

      Just noticed this second comment.
For manuals - in my opinion, definitely Fuj. X-T1 newer, take it.

  • Vladimir

On olkh are in Rien 8-10 thousand. Or is it better for a second nickle? The price is basically identical.

    • twm

When choosing between Canon and Fuji, you are choosing a system by and large. In other words, it depends on the fleet of optics that they managed to accumulate. Well, experience + preferences.

5D MII (2008) - flagship CZK fullframe. X-T1 (2014) - UPC flagship (APS-C). Canon - with its native lenses - has a more tenacious and fast autofocus: it is critical for reportage and sports photography, well, for shooting nimble birds and dogs. Fuji's autofocus is often more leisurely: Fuji has significantly increased AF speed with the introduction of the X-T3 / X-T4.

Autofocus primes (Primes - the lightest glass possible) for Canon cost money. That is, they really are. And the budget segment of Canon's branded optics - in my opinion, it loses to the “budget” from Nikon, and the “budget” (XC line) from Fuji.

Manual optics. You can put almost anything on the X-mount, incl. exotic. You can buy very affordable Chinese light glasses - they (many) are really good. Manual focusing on Fuji is convenient. More: Fuji is practically a manual focus paradise in my opinion.

A separate topic is tilt-shift (google) glass: the leader here is Canon. Fuji does not have such autofocus lenses on the X-mount - it can be critical for those professionals who are engaged in architecture, for example. However, this is a matter of time. Well, if you wish, if you are a keen amateur, you can put old manual solutions through the adapter - there are enough of them. From the same Nikon.

PS Well, the size: Canon is more massive. This can be both a plus and a minus - it depends on the individual. Before buying, hold both cameras in your hands: grip quality, ergonomics are a very important point, literally affects the desire to shoot.

  • Vladimir

The fact of the matter is that you can't hold it in your hands, there are no familiar photographers, just order and hold in your hands at the post office). Thanks for the detailed answer.

  • Alexander

Hello everyone. I want to take myself a mirrorless camera, the budget is 40 thousand rubles, of course used. Fuji liked, but not this one, but X-T2. Tell me, is it worth taking X-T2 now? Or is it better to have a full-frame Nikon D600 or Canon 6D DSLR? Full-frame mirrorless cameras for this price do not seem to be found, if only the Sony A7 is the first, but it is somehow completely raw (I had a little experience shooting with this one).
I shoot with Nikon D3100 myself, I really want a more modern camera. As for changing the system, there are no problems, I have few lenses.
If there are any other good options for this price, please tell me)

    • Victor

Almost all fujis have a specific color. Someone this comes, someone on the contrary. I would recommend looking at photo examples well before buying.

    • Pokemon

You did not write that you are filming. Do you just need a photo or a video too.
For this money, you can buy D700, D610, 6D and 5DMk2.
The D700 is already an elderly camera, but it has proven itself quite well.
The 5DMk2 is the same in age, perhaps the color will be more interesting, but the AF module at twilight / darkness does not work as confidently as in the D700.
From the above 4 ff cameras, now I would not take anything, well, perhaps 6D - it is still used and you can find cameras with low mileage. Instead of D610, it is better to look at D750, but it will be half as expensive.
Fuji also has a slightly more expensive X-Pro2 and X-H1. But in used they cost about the same as used D750.
According to Fujs, at the expense of color - you cannot use the popular Lightroom or something else from Adobe.
The fact is that we have already written that many programs do not correctly perceive X-trans matrices and give artifacts and color distortions.
Fuji herself on her website recommends the free SilkyPix: https://fujifilm-x.com/ru-ru/support/download/software/raw-file-converter-ex-powered-by-silkypix/
Well, chamber jpg is traditionally not bad in many Fujahs.

      • Pokemon

It should also be noted that Fuji herself is gradually abandoning the use of the old 24MP matrices and switches to 26MP back-illuminated matrices. They are very much praised for the result - there is progress relative to the old matrices. If the purchase does not burn much and you look at Fuji, can you wait and dig up the X-T3 with a more advanced AF module and a less noisy matrix?
It's a pity, but reviews of Fujai with 26MP back-illuminated matrices did not appear on Radozhiv.
It would be interesting to read the opinion of Arkady.

        • Andrei

As for Fuji, is this your own experience or are you passing on something that you have spied on somewhere?

          • Pokemon

            Both:
I had 2 years X100T and could borrow X100F any time.
I could feel the difference between X100T and X100F.
I sold X100T because more and more often I began to catch myself thinking that I needed a zoom, not a fix with an EGF 35mm. He left EGF 35-36mm on DSLRs too - it does not suit, less often he began to use it.
            *
            I look at X-T3 (or X-Pro3) and 16-80 / 4.
X-T3 / X-T4 communicated with the owners of these cameras, who previously had previous Fujai models.

      • Alexey

and I would take one. the color is perfect, so is the AF.

        • Pokemon

          One Canon?
If you're lucky enough to find it in good condition :)
          I already have them - 3. Two pieces 1Ds_mk2 and one 1Ds_mk3.
1Ds_mk3 is almost impossible to find for 40 thousand in decent condition, 1Ds_mk2 - yes, you can.
But they are few in this state.
          Nice cameras, nothing to say.

          • Alexey

I found in Russia for a reasonable price. not always ideal, but you can also fix it, I have no problems with that.

        • Victor

Everything would be fine with a single one if it were not a brick. It is far from always and not everywhere it is convenient.

          • Alexey

there is nothing more ideal in terms of comfort and ergonomics (there is nothing to say about tank reliability). units sit in the hand like a glove. and from 80-200 2.8, perhaps, only a few are convenient. all other cameras need a butblock.

            • Victor

Especially for landscapes / cities, tank reliability, weight over one and a half kg, and reportage ergonomics are needed.

For these purposes, it is Fuj that will fit quite well, and it is better to leave the ones to those who really need them (but these people will not look at 1dc of the first or second model), or collectors.

              • Alexey

I just walk with one - I have no problems.
yes even children run with pleasure with her, taking pictures of each other and flowers / cats. it is absolutely not scary to give it to a child, because it cannot be broken if you suddenly drop it))

      • Alexander

Thanks for the advice, I will take note. I really forgot to write what I'm shooting - mostly landscapes / city, a little less often spotting (planes). No video needed, only the photo is important.

        • Alexey

if airplanes, then this is a telephoto camera and here a crop camera will be more convenient. canon 1D MkII \ III - with 1.26 crop is perfect.

        • Pokemon

If there are photographic equipment rental shops nearby in your city, try to borrow X-T3 or X-T4, if any.
Earlier (several years ago) aviation was often filmed with 7Dmk2 or Nikon D500.
Who is richer by a few or older Nikons and heavy telephones with teleconverters.
I did not take pictures of birds / aviation, so I will refrain from giving advice.

  • Fduxandr

The question is - how can you fix the plug cover that swells?

    • Victor

By replacing it with x-t2, nothing is inflated there.

Or according to Nikon's old tradition - gasoline galosh and drying))

  • Alexander

I took it. With a whale lens 16-50 cost 30000 rubles. The rubber bands are all intact, everything works great. But the audience for which this camera was made is still not completely clear to me. like a crop sensor, but there are all these twists for quick adjustment. It seems like there is all sorts of mischief, like simulating film and double exposure, but at the same time the rate of fire is higher than many budget mirrorless cameras, and slightly lower than that of top-end cameras. ISO is certainly not the highest, but for most shoots they will be enough.
Ergonomics is very good for me. And by the way, the problem with access to the battery compartment on a tripod is solved by an additional grip, which is attached to the tripod thread, on the grip itself there is another thread - just for the tripod.
Eating up batteries - just have time to change. Although the camera is suitable for reporting due to the rate of fire and good autofocus, you should buy a set of batteries and a couple of charges for them. Fortunately, they are inexpensive on Ali.
Working with manual optics is a pleasure. I used to shoot with Nikon D3100 and Helios 81n - I don't know how I managed to get into focus. And here there is focus-picking and focus assist.
Cheap XC lenses are just trash. Maybe they can give a good picture, but the quality of the lenses themselves contrasts strongly with the quality of a monolithic camera, which has a proud Made in Japan sign in the corner. Plastic, focusing ring backlash. Abomination, brrr. But the same Helios 81n made of metal, like the adapter for it, looks and feels much more harmonious than Chinese plastic.
and the design is, of course, gorgeous.

    • Alexander

I bought a battery pack for Avito, which is as good as new. And with it another problem of the camera was revealed: after walking around without a battery grip, but with a nozzle that increases grip, you will get used to this rather comfortable grip. After I put on the battery handle, removing the grip, a fat design flaw emerged - it became inconvenient to hold the camera in landscape orientation, but in the portrait orientation there is now a fat handle that says so - look how comfortable I am! Shoot portraits, and only portraits! The X-T2 has already fixed this problem, and the battery grip has an extra lip for landscape photography.

  • Serge

One of the big drawbacks of fuji with a proprietary matrix is that RAF needs to be processed only with a native converter, and in terms of functionality it differs from Lightroom like a pointbrush from Photoshop. Otherwise - a bunch of artifacts from porridge to supposedly broken pixels.
