Hmm ... new optical design. It will be interesting to look at examples of photos.
But I'm interested in the price. If adequate, below the native fifty dollars, then you can take
I assume that the price will be around $ 80, which is 4-5 times cheaper than the native sprinkled 50mm f / 1.8 OSS.
In China, the retail price is still set at $ 99, a bit too much, but if the quality is at its best, people may pay ...
Chinese price is ¥ 699. That's $ 99.
I was wrong with the forecast for $ 19 :)
the stepping motor in yn42.5 / 1.7 was not bad, if it is similar here, it will be great
The starting price is usually higher, then they seem to get cheaper? Wait a bit, or some stock will be $ 80 :-)
on Nikon and Canon on Aliexpress US $ 40-50, maybe it will be so
on Nikon / Canon there are completely different lenses, with a different engine and with different optics, and indeed under SLR :)
8 elements in 7 groups of which 1 is low dispersion. I already wrote that sooner or later we will see really new and high-quality lenses from Chinese manufacturers, primarily for Sony, and that's where it happened. There will also be for Fuji, in China they began to calculate their own high-quality optical schemes, by the way, many foreign specialists work there. This lens is no exception, it is very difficult to find another lens with aperture of 1,8 in which low-dispersion glass is used, but since 90% of optical glass is already produced and exported from China, prices for them have drastically decreased. Big manufacturers do not put them in ordinary lenses, so as not to spoil their customers and give a clear border between their own cheap stuff and prof. lenses, but the Chinese manufacturers have nothing to lose, so we have the best Laowa 100mm macro lens, the best Laowa 105mm apodisiat. There will be others. They have already mastered the production of ultrasonic and stepping motors, and Viltrox released a very high-quality 85mm, of course for Sonya, since the afthofocus protocol can be officially licensed from them. Then I wrote that there will be others, so YN 50 / 1.8 arrived in time. In a high probability, we will soon see a whole series of similar lenses for Sony, with improved optical design and special types of glasses, including crystal glasses with a high lead content, in order to reach the optics of Carl Zeiss and Voigtlander (This has already been done in many cheap but high quality manual lenses , just not advertised). I wonder when the Chinese will continue to release a new version of the biotar, which, along with Helios 44, they released under the name Haiow64? We need to make it an autofocus version, so I'm all waiting for this to appear ...
At the YN exhibition, they showed 50 1.8 for Sony for a full frame, I think soon there will also be an announcement.
I think that they will release many lenses for Sony with this motor, in China the Sony system is very popular, and all over the world, stepless motors are already available, autofocus protocols have been licensed, the production of the lenses themselves remains. I also think that in 2-3 years we will see a lot of autofocus lenses from Chinese manufacturers for the Sony system, and they will all be of very good or excellent quality. The main thing is that they do not set draconian prices. The availability of many, including cheap, third-party lenses is a great motivation when choosing a system for a huge number of users.
Well, just a couple of hours after my post, Viltrox announced 33 / 1,4 for all APS-C mirrorless cameras with a similar stepless motor, but, as I suspected, expensive - for $ 280 for the Western market, it will cost roughly in a whale also a lot, not less than $ 220 ... Apparently these fixes are selling very well, so the marketing specialists of the companies, receiving information about the sales statistics, enter them into the production plan ...
It would be better to start with 30 / 1.8
MTF chart indicates good sharpness.
They also promise quiet AF.
If the bokeh is more pleasant, for example, than the Canon 50mm 1.8 STM, then it will be a bestseller)
At 42.5 / 1.7 it’s really quiet, I think it will be the same here
Appeared on Ali for $ 119
The price for this lens has not yet been announced, but it can be assumed that it will not differ much from the prices of similar lenses for other mounts, that is, it will be very affordable. On the day that Yongnuo releases the same lens for EOS-M, we will be the first in line for testing. Author of articles on photographic equipment and photo processing software. Well, Yangnow got in advance so hurry up ..., no longer needed, three years ago, and even on FE, then it would be cool, but today with such a variety of mirrorless cameras and DSLRs with lenses, I would be in the place of Yangov on Kenon RP and I would be guided by NIKON Zet.
This lens already arrived to review.
The review is ready, you can see on a separate page here.
