I understand that in order to join the highly artistic caste of the owners of Helios, everyone should create such masterpieces as a carbon copy. Otherwise, they will be anathematized.
It seems that there is a certain photo school in which they only learn how to take such photos. And nothing more.
But, once again beautifully, you will tell nothing.

    • Ivan Shikhalev

      + + +

  • Vlad

Nails have good shots, busting only with snails on mushrooms, but now it is a trend for many, then a yasher, then a frog, or even a bird on a mushroom, can miraculously be removed, miracles and more!
But the pictures from the author and not only on Helios are cool!

    • zengarden

But snails are convenient to photograph, they won't run away quickly :) every mackerel always carries a box of snails with him!

      • Ali

Nothing like this. They creep up very quickly. I did not have time to arrange it as it should, only to the camera, but they are already in place.

  • Oleg

    Handsomely

  • Alexander

Beautiful pictures. Recently, this style has gone up the hill. It's time to tell how this is filmed ... Or will we just watch the pictures ...?

    • Roman

For shooting you need a lens and mushrooms. Although if you are the same Alexander, then mushrooms will not be needed. Well, the lens too.

      • Alexander

The one - this is what?

    • Oleg

Divide your studies into several stages. Separately fill your hand in the bokeh photo, for which you shoot a garland, splashes of water, drops of water on the glass in out of focus ... twist and twist it all to see what kind of "circles" you get. When you fill your hand, you have a bokeh background ready. Then you fill your hand in the photo of macro objects, for which you select lenses, focal points, experiment with macro rings ... remember the result. Both of these practices do not have to be done far in nature. The main thing is to understand how and what to make a bokeh background and what to shoot the object with. After that, armed with equipment (garland, spray bottle, water, glass for splashes ... light source - ring flash, lantern ... reflector), go into the forest and start choosing an object for a photo. Find, for example, a mushroom, it's good if sunlight falls on it, carefully clean everything around it (twigs, too large leaves, grass that gets into the frame ...) and shoot, along the way providing a bokeh background. An assistant will not be superfluous in this matter, and in general it will be more fun. Next, find a snail, a worm near the mushroom ... carefully so as not to injure (no one was hurt during the shooting), transfer it to the mushroom and take new frames. Well, further fantasy and new experiences - toss flour on the object (behind the object), blow from the vape ... Something like that.

      • Oleg

PS Well, you can not do without processing. It is not necessary to remake the photo artistically, so you can do everything right away in Photoshop and not take a steam bath with the photo, but tighten the colors, sharpness, contrast, and muffle it somewhere.

      • Vlad

They described it well, but this is far and not always the case, many of the mushrooms, flowers and other natural charms presented sometimes happen to be removed not at all in the forest, but in the studio, that is, this production + to help Photoshop (gluing, background, etc.).
But this is not to reproach the authors, many in this field have achieved certain heights and their work is very positive.

        • Alexander

This is a more reliable version. And Oleg amused him a little ...

      • Alexander

Somehow, then it is. But something gives the impression that all this was filmed in studio (home) conditions and with very reliable props. Now, if the author tells, if it is, of course, not a secret ... Well, if he doesn’t tell, if it’s a secret, then this photo cannot be viewed once. But making postcards out of this will be beautiful.

  • Pawel

Authors, stop torturing snails, they are charming and without photo cards. There is one makrushnik, takes pictures of dragonflies, now he really has masterpieces on the D200.

  • alex

    I have a question.
In some photos, for example, in “Gallery on HELIOS-44M 2/58 and Nikon D300” on the last and third from the end, around the circles and drops there are multi-colored borders, green, etc. This is how I understand freiguring? Judging by the fact that these photos are presented here, this is not considered a marriage in such cases?
It's just that such garbage very often creeps out at the very most, and it is not always possible to overcome it. I am sad and delete such photos, but is it seen in vain?

    • Alexander

Why bullshit? The photo should be viewed as a whole, not through a microscope. No one but a thoughtful photographer knows this matyuk, and everyone will look at the beauty of the photo as a whole, and not at the circles ...

      • alex

“The photo should be viewed as a whole” - here I agree.
“And not through a microscope” - but here no. But what about viewing photos when processed at 100% scale?
Well, we are all “thoughtful photographers” here, and we look at the photo accordingly. I'm interested in the opinion of just such people.
And those who are “all” are non-photographers, that is, they may not notice much of a marriage. This does not mean that you can leave it (marriage) everywhere.

        • Arkady Shapoval

Everything is very simple. The edging of the circles in this case is not a bug, but a feature. That is, not a lack of optics, but its feature, which allows you to make photos more atmospheric. Some photos were taken for the sake of just such circles.
As already noted, taking a photo holistically, especially for photographers who are used to viewing pixels, aberrations, distortions and parallaxes, is a difficult matter.

          • alex

            Thank you for the clarification)

  • Eugene

    One of my favorite lenses)

  • Vladimir

Most of the works presented were not shot on Helios. This is evident not with an armed gaze, only a few photos were taken by him. Smooth circles Helios does not draw.

    • Rodion

Yeah, but you have forgotten that most of the work is macro. At large scales, the edges do not work - there will be no torsion.

      • Vladimir

It's not about krutilov. It is clear that with macro fur or rings, but even with macro such smooth rings in the side will not be in Helios. With macro on helios, in general, everything blurs without bubbles and rings. At least follow this link https://500px.com/hvozd74 and see what the author makes these photos https://radojuva.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/helios-44mm-nikon-d300-samples-13.jpg

        • Arkady Shapoval

The question is either to the author or to EXIF.
The fact that round pieces are for macro is quite possible. I am only confused by the strong edging of the unsharp discs. Helios should (?) Give a less pronounced edging.

        • Rodion

Well, I agree on this part - Helios' edging is not usually so pronounced.

      • Arkady Shapoval

        and filmed on crop

  • Arkady Shapoval

The gallery was fixed. As it turned out, several photos were from Jupiter-8.

    • Vladimir

Cleaned up, but not everything. There are a few left not from the G-44, two chanterelles with a snail and more ...

      • Rodion

I support. Something else seems to be left.

  • Vladimir

Request to the author. Remove from the gallery also these works:

This is not Helios. Helios does not know how. You have other sites signed by other lenses.
Photos are undeniably beautiful, but still.
    Thank you.

    • Arkady Shapoval

Part removed. I’ll leave a part. As it turned out, the author made a gluing of two photos. Background on Jupiter-8, base on Helios-44M.

      • Vladimir

Here it is! So a collage. Clear.

        • Iskander

Rather, a lie. This is if censored.

  • Nicholas

I understand that they shot with a reversible macro adapter?

  • Alexey

Very beautiful pictures, Thanks to the author for the work. Probably for commercial photos and for efficiency, you should buy normal optics. And for unhurried work, why not use such optics, if the quality is not worse than expensive copies. The site was created for us by fans so that we discuss and share our impressions.

  • Dr.Dre

    Lyapota!

  • Alexey

You can take photos and helios. But such photos, acid colors, beautifully and deadly do not catch.

  • Anatoly

Beautiful photos. Objects, light and background were chosen correctly and tastefully. From the 44th it is squeezed out more than it can. The photos are very reminiscent of Trioplan. The work is super!

  • Vyacheslav

Tell me, please, how to automatically overlay EXIF information in a photograph?
Sometimes I take test photos of lenses and would like to convert information about the lens, focus, exposure and ISO when converting from NEF. What are the means to do this when converting to jpeg?
    Thank you!

    • Arkady Shapoval

Basic means - nothing. I use FastStone Photo Resizer for this

  • Madpumpkin

I would venture to ask. What used camera can you recommend for this lens, and that’s how it is, a camera for the lens, macro priority. Straight in love with how this lens shoots.

    • Arkady Shapoval

Anyone, if only to crush the macro did not disappear, because this is a complicated matter. Here the author of these works shoots on the Nikon D300, now it is a quite inexpensive camera

    • Alexander

If you want to have infinity, then any Canon for which money is enough (600d, 650d, 700d). You can Sony with a translucent mirror or even an older classic a330 SLR. Or even Pentax, they say that the viewfinders are very good even in the initial models, and, in my opinion, even the exposure metering and confirmation of focus will be.
Nikon will not have infinity with this lens, but if it is not important to you, then I can recommend d200 - cheap, cheerful and great color right from the camera.
And of course, all kinds of mirrorless mirrors, but I don’t really understand them, so I won’t be able to advise on the best option.

    • Pokemon

If you are from Moscow or Mos.obl. then in Novogireevo there is a master remaking Helios to infinity under the Nikon mount.
I use Helios on Fuji Pryatyak and on Nikon D4, D750.
      Everything is working correctly.

  • Madpumpkin

    Budget up to 20 thousand.
