I met Helios in 2014, it was Helios-44-2 2/58. Thanks to this lens, I was able to find myself in photography and began to engage in macro photography. I am not attracted to static macro photography, I like to show a fabulous little world, and Helios-44-2 2/58 became me in this faithful and wonderful helper. Helios makes the picture truly fabulous, the softness and beauty of the lines are simply amazing! And his famous bokeh mesmerizes and catches the eye. Many photographers do not like this lens, because not everyone can understand it, and for lovers of detailed and very sharp pictures, it really will not work. For me, Helios remains the most versatile and often used lens, despite the abundance of other Soviet glasses in my “arsenal”. For my Nikon camera I had to use an adapter with a lens to preserve infinity.

Helios-44M 2/58 appeared at me later. I liked the lens more than Helios-44-2 2/58. But still, much depends on the instance. Now in my collection only Helios-44M 2/58Converted to Nikon, you don’t need any adapters and focusing on infinity allows you to shoot absolutely any object.

Indeed, very interesting work. I do not recognize my lenses)))

  • Victor

    Duzhno garno i kazkovo!

  • Sergei

Thanks for the very good and high-quality photos!
They are not inferior in impression to the viewer made on Helios-77.
But Helios-44 is much more affordable and 5 times cheaper.
If you have only a whale lens, then it’s better to try a fast fifty dollars. Experiment with light, composition, post-processing.

44-2 is generally the most affordable fast fix on the market

Some Helios-44-2 videographers try to use for professional purposes:

Where is such a miracle to take? Or is it a render?

There is a whole set of Soviet glasses, but remember, this is a modification for the movie, there are only lens units from the originals, everything else is custom, hence the price.

Stupid question, of course, but why infinity for macro? Although, the author probably shoots not only macro, but then why force the lens on Nikon not intended for him.
I can’t say that the quality on Nikon is falling dramatically, since it’s not a specialist, but if you take the matter seriously, then Canon is better.
Alteration is too much dependent on the master, I would try, but it is quite difficult to find someone who does not harm.

HERE, if the author in an interview shared information about who and how reworked the lens, it would be useful.

    • Arkady Shapoval

The network has a lot of materials on how to remake Geliki in different ways under Nikon.

      • Maria

        Yes, I agree)
But just here is a specific author and his experience. I therefore asked.

    • Duck

And what is better Canon? Red strap, which is more suitable for nails?

      • Michael

The working distance that is more suitable for m42 lenses

      • Vlad

For Canon, the stripes on the strap are red, and for Nikon, their faces are red. Wow, how much health they stole for me. Only last year, finally, a person appeared in our city who knows how to take pictures of people by Nikon. When I played enough with my Fuji 200 EXR, asked to hold the Nikon 3100, and for almost a year there was no desire to switch to a DSLR, I waited for the next generation and picked the raves, this fujik has a lousy jeep in good conditions, and norms in bad conditions. A year later, I went to Nikon's site, and it smelled of such snobbery ... In short, I didn't like Nikon, but his marketers are to blame for this. Then I learned about the focal length ...

      here is a specific master.https://vk.com/udgwhite

    Beautiful!
All the power in the magic bubbles)

  • Vyacheslav

    A masterpiece! :)

  • Andrei

    Nice photos.

  • Eduard

Great! I’ll go look for this glass on Avito, but I'm not sure that it will turn out something even close similar)

    • Duck

I have, and I can’t. But I still like the picture)

  • Michael

Cool work. On the CCD matrix would be a masterpiece.

  • Tanya

    Magic

  • Duck

It's funny Experimented with drops, light, such a wonderful bokeh did not work. And in FSH it’s easy

  • Artem

I have been reworking lenses for Nikon for five years. Made about two hundred.

    • Maria

      and your contacts? )

  • Roman

How did you adapt the 44-2 to macro photography?

    • B. R. P.
