ADMIRAL TELEPHOTO LENS 1: 4.5 f = 200mm. Review from the reader Radozhiva

Overview of the ADMIRAL TELEPHOTO LENS 1: 4.5 f = 200mm lens specially for Radozhiva prepared Alexey Ovoshchnikov.

The lens can be mounted on any modern camera with interchangeable lenses if you use the T2 mount adapter. Such adapters can be ordered on the Chinese website aliexpress. I used this lens with a camera Nikon D600.

Technical specifications

Focal length - 200 mm
Maximum aperture - 4.5
MDF - 270 cm (2,7 m.)
Aperture - 16 blades. It always forms even circles in the boke.
Filter diameter - 55 mm.
The front cover does not snap into place, but is screwed into the same thread.
The mass of the lens is 550 grams.
Length (without T2 adapter) - 166 mm.
Lenses do not have enlightenment.

The lens is very cheap and not very interesting optically. Does not allow camera matrix Nikon D600. After resizing photos from 24 to 12 megapixels, there is practically no real drop in quality.

There are a couple of good points

The first is the easiest and most compact 200 mm fix for a full frame of what I met.

The second point - the aperture of 16 blades closes smoothly without clicks, the lens is equipped with a diaphragm position limit ring. This may come in handy in video filming. What does this mean? You can smoothly close the aperture to f 22 in one motion and get the movie effect of darkening the picture on the video. With the restriction ring, you can choose, for example, f 8 and the aperture will close only up to this value. Anyone who needs it will understand me.

There is a foot for mounting on a tripod. It can be rotated, but can not be removed from the lens. It is striking that it was cast from cast iron and looks rude. When focusing, the ring rotates smoothly, the lens lengthens by about three centimeters. The front lens does not rotate.

In general, this is a mediocre lens, sharpness is not enough especially in the open. It works very poorly in the backlight (there are examples in the gallery), it loses much contrast as soon as you turn to the sun. The camera looks ridiculous. Maybe on some compact mirrorless it will not be so ...

No, I did not buy this lens) I was given it as a gift (to the load) when I bought another. The real price of such a lens tends to zero and swims around 10 euros.

The lens is indecently simple to disassemble with a flick of the wrist. The back group of lenses is gluing, and there mold has started up from time to time! Here are some photos of the disassembled lens.

The lens has the simplest construct, you can unwind it in two parts and see what's inside or wipe the dust).

They unscrewed the front part, removed the back group of lenses and inside ... air.

The diaphragm is not visible here, it is completely open.

The front of the lens can be used separately as a good magnifying glass. Ingenious?

There is no enlightenment on the lenses! What for?

The last photo is a useful tool! It can be ordered from China (aliexpress). It is specifically designed to disassemble mechanical connections in lenses. I gathered everything back without problems and the quality of the photo remained the same.

In general, I have had this lens for two years, and I took it seriously for only one day. There were still test shots from a tripod, but I didn’t find it. If there is, then I will supplement the review.

Photo Gallery

The lens is bad, but not hopeless. It will go like the first fix telephoto just to get your hand on manual optics. I think the lens is a copy of the slightly more famous Spiratone Tc 200 mm f / 4.5. As one person wrote in a review on Spiratone, “a dead squirrel will go” it conveys the truth well. If someone needs it, then I will give it in good hands for free, write. Sorry, only pickup.

Write your questions in the comments. I have gathered quite solid list of equipment, and if you want to know my opinion or consult, I will answer your questions.

Firstly, there is enlightenment here - one-layer, yellow tones. Yes, mediocre - but there is. The second unclear point - and in the sense of a foot made of cast iron? How much does it weigh?

    • Alexey Ovoshchnikov

Actually, you are right, there is enlightenment, cast in yellow. The foot cannot be removed and I can not weigh it perfectly. Outwardly, it most closely resembles iron casting; maybe, in fact, it is another metal.

      • Rodion

Most likely, it is silumin or something like that - a fairly cheap aluminum alloy that lends itself to casting.

      • York

The paw cannot but be removed - well, that is. She didn’t grow up there, somehow they got her on the lens ?! As they have filled, they are filming ...
What kind of thread is an inconspicuous screw ...

16lp is good, but the picture is frankly bland.
Although, on the other hand, 200 / 4,5 is not that many picture glasses ...

        • Alexey Ovoshchnikov

There are lens models (usually more modern) where the foot can be easily removed. Here, to remove it, you have to completely disassemble the entire lens, namely the lens body. That is, it is no longer operation, but repair. Do you need it? You can disassemble everything, but the fact is that the foot, fixed in simple operation.

  • Sergei

It was unlucky that a very noticeable fungus appeared exactly in the center of the lens.
I believe that if he was on the edge, the picture would be better.
And so the optical scheme is very simple - four lenses in two components.
Even Tessar has more options for optical corrections.
Advise you to put it under a bold pixel - 6-8 megapixel crop.

    • Rodion

And it’s better not to advise at all.

  • Eugen

It’s a pity that Zeiss can’t be taken apart and blown away so easily.

  • Sergei

    I don’t know about the Spiratone Tc 200 mm f / 4.5, but the Spiratone 105 mm f / 2.5 Tc is very good!

    • Arkady Shapoval

      many 105 / 2.5 are interesting :)

  • Dim

Thank you very much for the tip on the instrument. I ordered myself something like this. It is a pity that before mounting the mounts on old Nikon lenses, no one bothered to buy such a thing to convey the position.

    • Dim

      diaphragm position, sorry.

  • Trueash

I would take something like that for a "chocolate bar". For all kinds of highly artistic perversions

  • notapic

Who made SUCH lenses? And who bought them at all? It seems to me, and then by the appearance of the optics, especially by the lenses, it was possible to understand how high-quality the image would be.
