Probably, they are running the platform platform for the FF sensor.

    • Arkady Shapoval

I don’t think so. It will not be possible to run in, because the main run-in is the mechanics of the shutter and stub, and completely different modules will (and most likely will not) be on the FF.

Well ... I would take it, if it was for sho ...

When they already make the matrix square and forget about the combined handle, and photographers about the need to rotate the camera for the portorte landscape position.

It happened before. Film type 120, Pentacon six, Salute. Not a ride. Unless Instagram cuts so far with simulated film filters.

They forgot about Hassel. And not only.

      • Novel

Now IMAX cameras shoot at an approximately square frame (1.34: 1) - for cinema formats, then cropping goes

    • Dmitriy

Absolutely pointless. Both for a portrait and for a landscape you need not a square, but a rectangular frame. And if you then cut it from a square into a rectangle - this is a loss of detail.

      • anonym

“And if you then cut it from a square into a rectangle - this is a loss of detail.” Also, the loss of part of the head and lower limbs of the model.

  • Dmitry S.

This combo kilometer should have come out with an FF sensor. Look, everything will end up with Olympus "flying through" both with this camera and with the "micro" in general.

    • lech

FF camera with such features will be the size of a suitcase.

  • Eugene

Panasonic in Barcelona has already introduced two FF (and they are not a suitcase))

    • Xxx

Well, not a suitcase. A mirrorless mirror the size of a good, unfriendly DSLR. Weight more than a keel. And this is without a combo. Well and the main thing is that when assembled with a lens with identical parameters in size between the FF and the micra, there will be a gap, as well as in weight. So, mikra has every chance to live and is quite normal in its niche, the benefit in it (in contrast to the crop of large photocontactors) is really investing your head, soul and money.

    • lech

This Panas 9 frames per second.

  • SashOK

Cool camera. I love such a chopped square design of cameras. And those characteristics are nothing. Recently I read a full test review on some website, fell in love with this olik.
But the price is, damn PRICE !!! Especially for zuyko lenses ... In general, not for Ukraine.
    Maybe sometime ...

  • Dmitriy

If I had money, I would buy it. And so I have to sit on the mirror.

  • Pokemon

A lot of photos of the camera itself and test shots on the Japanese site:

  • Vlad

    Almost 1dx mark2

Who needs these Olympus? it's fucking obscenity

  • Andrei

everything would be fine, but my personal opinion is that 4/3 is a castrated under-format, slightly better than that of the late Nikon 1. At the same price, I always prefer APS-C or full frame. Whatever one may say, but there are fundamental laws of physics, the larger the sensor, the more it can capture light and the larger the size of the pixel itself, which means the higher the detail.

  • Outcast

Dima, there is no more pro or less pro) There are boots on which almost everything in the reportage is removed, and Nikons from Sony for their tasks and goals. Everything. The rest - well, Panas from Fuji in the registry offices probably still twists - pure amateurism. Olympus? Well I do not know. Everything is bad. Pts bad.

  • Sergei

Olympus is a rather distinctive system, which could be more popular if it were not for the narrow-minded stereotypes regarding the size of the matrix. Most people

    • 1Ds_mk3

Stereotypes are stereotypes, and a narrow double-cropped DD is still an incorrigible problem.

      • 1Ds_mk3

And if you assemble a fleet of high-quality glasses for a double crop, it turns out: cumbersome and expensive.

      • Sergei

A huge DD is rarely needed, with special skill you can get out and beyond the DD of some Nikon DF. The quality of the picture is usually determined more by other conditions - lighting, correctly caught moment, etc. If the picture is unsuccessful, then DD will not save.

As for the glass park - it's expensive, yes, now everything is expensive wherever you look. But cumbersome - no. I had a Nikon crop before that, after switching to Olympus I did not change my photo bag, Nikon with 3 lenses fit into this bag and Olympus with 6th in weight is also about the same. Well, as if there is a difference.

  • Sergei

Olympus is a rather distinctive system that could have been more popular if it weren't for narrow-minded stereotypes regarding the size of the matrix. Most people do not understand that a camera is not only about image quality, it is also a set of other characteristics. Ultimately, this is a tool, it either suits some tasks or it doesn't. Of course, in most cases, the larger the matrix, the better and 14-bit raw is better than 12-bit. But jpeg is generally 8-bit and most people have jpeg on their exhaust. And the most important thing is that the meaning of the pictures is not at all in the quality of the image, but in the plot, the moment, etc. What you need to know about Olympus is that it allows you to take good pictures and there are many good shots on various resources to prove this.
The Olympus in the face of this and other om-d cameras can provide some features and functions, of which there are many that are absent from the same full-frame competitors, as a rule, it is customary to remain silent about this. But many people consider it their duty to poke a finger at the size of the matrix of the Micro 4/3 system, as if it was their personal discovery and this was not mentioned in the specification. Yes, there are some problems and limitations, an ideal camera does not exist, they all have some kind of disadvantages.
This camera and e-m1 mark 2 quite seriously advanced the system and in a couple of years these innovations will be in more affordable models, which is also a plus.
The system as a whole is pretty well filled with various lenses, which can not be said about the recent mirrorless FF news from Nikon, Canon, Panasonic. In general, I think that this camera will find its buyer. And if Olympus does roll out the FF with their best practices, perhaps it will be one of the best FF BZK on the market.

    • Novel

You will now be burned for such heresy. After all, the meaning of photography is to go out on a dank winter morning into a shitty city building, to look at a dull brick wall, trying not to capture a three-letter word in the frame and start measuring dynamic range and color rendition. And light, plot, composition, idea, color correction, retouching are for idiots.

      • Valery A.

And when reporting, do you have to look for good light, wait or work out a full-frame photo until the moment?

        • Novel

And when reporting, I'm more interested in the work of autofocus and the length of the frame queue. And in this regard, 7D2 will suit me more than 5D3 and, possibly, 5D4. And in some cases, the built-in flash or a larger sensor coverage with focus sensors will be more important than the dynamic range and other pleasures of life.

And if we return to the original meaning of “reportage”, then the presence of a frame as documentary evidence may be more important than the quality of a frame. And you can capture something very important with your phone camera.

Therefore, a tool for a task, not a task for a tool.

          • Valery A.

Well, by phone. Reporting in rooms where the flash does not help / is not welcome, only FF with its iso and dd.

    • 1Ds_mk3

Sergey, what is the point of buying a double crop now in 2019?
The porno director admitted that mikra have certain problems and how did they overcome them? Born for three with Sigma and Leika their FF .. Those. the matter is in the size of the birthmark. You can’t deceive physics.

      • Sergei

Exactly the same as if you buy any other camera. You can get to any camera and hang tags on it. Olympus as a whole is good at taking money. I really don’t mean M1X now, but I think that if a person uses what is laid in her, she will also work for all the money.
And no one is trying to deceive physics. Here we have such a sensor, these are its capabilities - it is necessary, not necessary, an individual matter. Of the advantages, all the same compactness, stabilization, all-weather, general ergonomics, lenses, working with an open one, various modes for night shooting and subject shooting, which are practically nowhere else. All in all, normal cameras, tools to learn how to use. It is necessary to get used to any camera, to study its capabilities and limitations.
If Olympus releases FF, it will not be surprising, and not because Mikra “lost”, but because the system is, in general, almost complete and something new can no longer be invented.

When you have experience communicating with different cameras, you understand that each has its own shoals, some flaws, flaws, surmountable and insurmountable obstacles in the work. Also, the more experience in photography, the less important the camera itself is. I think the vast majority of photos on the planet are pretty pointless, and the technical quality of really good shots doesn't matter.

Returning to the camera market, I don't like anything from FF BZK so much that I just wanted to buy it. Maybe in five years, when the new systems settle down a bit, maybe Pentax and Olympus will provide something else and maybe it will be good.

        • 1Ds_mk3

Okay, I’ll come from the other side.
For beginners there are all sorts of Canon 200d, 700d,
Nikon d3400 in the whale version. For those who have a little more money - 800d-77d-80d. Nikon has d5600-d7200. Who needs machine guns will buy expensive crops - d500 / 7d mk2.
          Who needs FF to buy cheaply - 6d / 6d mk2 or d610. Or d750. Etc.
Then there is still a market for used cameras.
For aesthetes, there is Fuji and the endangered Sigma on Foveone.
And for whom is m4 / 3? For wealthy lovers of compact cameras?
No, for shooting video in 4k mikra and Fuji are now kings. But taking m4 / 3 for a photo with this choice is really strange.

          • Sergei

So you say that the m4 / 3 are not cameras at all. If anything, then the pixel size of 200D is less than that of the om-d e-m10 mark II, with approximately the same price per whale, it is difficult to speak of a greater wealth of the owner of Olympus. In general, I personally never had a question of purchasing Canon cameras, they are not famous for matrices, optics are also so-so, especially cheap ones. A colleague from work changed Canon 6d for Nikon D5300, it seems. While he was with him, I used it - well, a hefty carcass, the rear wheel is not comfortable, otherwise the camera is like a camera, you definitely won't carry it with you every day.

For whom Sigma and Fuji exist, I do not understand. Is that for the image. Fuji, if only in jpeg to shoot for lazy film players with a proprietary "plasticine", not every application is suitable for raw processing, sharpness is very difficult to achieve because of a cheerful matrix, which, in general, gives nothing but hemorrhoids. Fuji's SF only makes sense.

Sony is Sony, although there were thoughts of taking a7 or a7s or their second revisions, where the viewfinder is more or less narrower. Purely as a backdrop for manual glasses. But something is scaring away for now.

I would take Nikon DF, but there the maximum exposure is 1/4000 - well, why like this? There is no electronic shutter, i.e. time-lapses and astro in flight. D750 there. Only the D7200 and D500 crops remain in the mid-range budget. Are there many good glasses for crops - no. There are also Pentax KP and K1, but their full frame is already 36 megapixels, which is not good for me, but all sorts of astro-chips and a stabilizer on the matrix are somewhat encouraging. The choice of optics is also small.

Here are some of my arguments. Someone may have other tasks and requirements. I have om-d e-m5 mark 2, my wife has my first camera Nikon d5100 c 16-85, so I don’t have any thoughts to shoot the D5100, although the picture is better, but there are fewer opportunities, in low light they generally count no, a step left-right - high ISOs, a tripod, a flash, and the Donkey allows you to take pictures from your hands, with high-aperture glasses you can shoot from your hands almost at night, naturally, static, but other cameras cannot always do this. I completely forgot about the shake, forgot a little about under-refocusing, it is a pleasure to shoot macro handheld. And to say that these are some kind of under-photo cameras, on which there is almost no shutter button, the tongue does not turn.
There was Nikon D7000, I liked it very much, there is also 14-bit raw, but the frames are more “rubbery”. In general, the most optimal grip camera for me, the larger ones already seem cumbersome, and less uncomfortable. Olympus is no longer so grippy, but you can carry it with you every day in an ordinary bag like a laptop with several glasses even. And which camera is better - the one with you.

And B \ in the DSLR are generally those dancing songs.
