Nikon and Sigma cameras (yes, on Foveon) got to work with standard raw converters. Fuji has almost nothing to edit. The hand does not rise. Anything that is more expensive (we do not consider the labor segment) simply must be FF, or SF, which, by the way, still becomes more accessible from year to year.
First, try fuj and its optics, and then talk. For example, I got sick of Nikon's dull skinton, because Nikon's full frame flew into the furnace. On fuja, everything is only jpeg, it can not be compared by color. Film profiles at a height. Your opinion about the place of crop in 2018 is very correct in relation to Nikon and Kenon, and Fuj has a completely different philosophy and quality. And yes, they do not have a full frame, only crop and SF. Can turn on the brain why so?
What does “try first” mean? - I have had Fuj for almost a year now, and I am delighted with both optics and Kamjepeg and ergonomics. But the physical limitations of Martica (for example, control of depth of field) cannot be bypassed by any technologies, as the Americans say “there's no replacement for displacement”.

Why Fuja does not have FF - everything is very simple: they cannot compete. Everything is already oversaturated there: Nikon, and Kenon, and Pentax, and Leica, and - not by the night it will be mentioned - Sonya. And the fujik still does not have a full-frame line of optics. Six lenses, as in the case of the SF, are not enough here, when competitors have this number measured in tens. Therefore, they sit quietly in their niches, sawing crop and SF and do not even rock the boat in the direction of FF.
