Comments: 338, on the topic: Announcement of a mirrorless Nikon system with Z mount

  • anonym

In general: I am very pleased that Nikon has released a complete BZK system. As for the shortcomings, well, so whoever did not have them. Look at the release of any new product, any manufacturer, in the discussion of new products there are always clouds of trolls and vomit in the comments :) Good to all!

    • Daulet

Sony at the moment are the only manufacturers of XQD cards))) and Nikon are releasing new bzk with one memory slot and only for XQD))) I'm wondering if it's not something that will stop production, but will simply increase their prices by 2 times and start simultaneously with with minimal changes a new card ... well, for example, they will change the length or width of the card, leaving the same filling and will put it only on their fotiki at a low price)

      • Sergei

        What about Lexar?

        • Daulet

Apparently they lied to Sonya)) today the post came out from them comparing nikon and rki .. there they wrote that they are the only ones)

      • Eugene o

They promise compatibility with the not yet released CFExpress. Plus, there are always antitrust authorities.

  • anonym

It will be interesting whether autofocus lenses for Nikon F, say Tamron 24-70, will work on it (through an FTZ adapter)? other manufacturers?

    • Daulet

But the couple are working terribly from the United States. Photographers are simply shocked that in the movement, autofocus missed more than half of the shots.

      • Onotole

This married couple of yours - those are still the authors.

Last year, the gray-haired spouse, I remember, released a video for 15 minutes, where he argued that RAW was not needed. Say, only a place on the NMZhD takes. Shoot EVERYTHING in JPEG and you will be happy.

    • A.N. Onim

Already somewhere there was information that Nikon would not share AF operation algorithms with third-party manufacturers.

  • anonym

All that you need to know about autofocus from 5:17 to English but I think you can see without translation https://youtu.be/iUii9dTwPkw

    • Arkady Shapoval

      DPreview has the same experience.

      • Daulet

I meant this video. Another seemingly competent pro from America in general raised the question of the viability of the new bayonet, because for sf it is not enough and for ff it is redundant and the lenses as a result will be large compared to sony and others. Regarding the hype about full coverage with a big hole, was his thought even simpler? Not even a sleepyhead, but on the d850 you have problems from a small hole?) Well, if you look at a third-party program, you can see it, but in fact, even the cameras have built-in correction and profiles. Then he asked the question given all this to Nikon ... you guys say you decide whether to take off the cross or put on panties. You either create a new bzk and destroy the DSLRs, or just don't do the bzk.

        • Onotole

And what, there is infa that will "destroy the DSLRs"?

          • Daulet

Well, in the opinion of photographers and the Western community, Nikon exhibited cut-down versions of zekralok so as not to kill the sales of d850, 810 and others like them. For if, immediately after the sale of the rather expensive 850th, Nikon announces to the whole world that now the new buynet and in general only the last Nikon loyalists will run away ... well, at least on English-language resources, this opinion prevails. Therefore, they did neither this nor that, as long as there was a bzk on which you can use the old lenses through the adapter for a couple of years .. and then they say they will finally switch to the bzk. There is also an opinion that Nikon could not in 2 slots and autofocus on the eye simply because it could not))) Sony definitely has a patent for an autofocus system for the eye, which is sharpened precisely for the design features of their matrices. That is, if you want to do it by eye using other technologies, then you need a different matrix ... it is clear that Nikon buys matrices from Sony and simply does not have the opportunity to do something new. Yes, even the matrices themselves, if they differ from the 850, are only in the number of pixels and technologically the same matrix. So they could not say in Nikon. And they simply hung between the bzk and the DSLRs. Agonizingly thinking how to switch to a bzk without having the technology while dragging a trailer of loyal photographers whom they have been emptying their pockets for a couple of years without reporting features to certain cameras. One community is one. Even the crop of the camera of the initial and advanced level has not been done for a long time by Nikon, by analogy with Sony, Fuji, etc., it is better to be silent altogether. That is why it turns out that Nikon left the entire initial and middle segment in the west at the mercy of the HYIP bzk there is simply incredible proportions and any blogger cosmetologist may not know what iso or exposure, but he knows for sure that bzk with autofocus on the eye and a flip-up screen is cool. And since there are no newcomers to Nikon, then you need to either do amateur cameras at the same time or decisively focus on the pros so as not to lose them. And here is 1 slot and vague plans for 6 years ahead on the lenses and even with a pitchfork on the water. In general, vidos on the topic “why did I switch to sleepyheads” in YouTube will soon be filled up.

            • Onotole

A couple of facts that destroy your unstable theory.
The D850 is currently a wildly popular camera, so popular that sometimes you have to wait in line for a pre-order.
Sensors for the Z6 and Z7 (as well as for the D850) - Nikon buys from the Israeli TOWERJAZZ, not Sony.

              • Daulet

Well, then yes it turns out ... but I wrote about the mood in the West. Regarding pre-orders, again in the west and pre-orders. And in Kazakhstan, they are in stock and even from time to time with a 5% discount are in stores, but Sonya, that is, there is no ... so it probably depends on the region.
I wonder how it was that an Israeli company whose name was not even close to being compared to Sony was not even close in popularity, suddenly mastered on an industrial scale, as it were, the latest fashion in high tech? Nikon was asked directly at the presentation whose sensors are better than answering in the style of “this is internal information and we cannot comment on it,” they did not come up with. This is more likely in favor of Sony .. even more so they asked whether Sony's matrices were.

              • Onotole

And how much do I know how it happened?
Maybe Sonya was completely insolent at prices for her already not the best products in the world, and Nikon decided to try to conduct a tender on the side; or maybe Nikon realized that he was already too deep in Sony's anal slavery (so much that it completely depended on the supply of sensors, which are the most important component of their finished products), and began to take steps to steal from there, or maybe there’s another option that we never guess and no one will ever tell.

    • Peter Sh

These guys position themselves as super-pros and confuse basic things. For example, what is the difference between the methods of shooting a portrait and reporting.
But it doesn’t matter. The fact remains. Even Nikon could not surpass his mirrors.

      • Alex7

It is dangerous for Nikon to surpass his DSLRs. It is also possible to ruin the market, in which they and the kenon almost in half have a monopoly position.

But to discourage the desire of their pro-photographers Nikonists to buy an eurydei camera of another brand is the right marketing ploy. Actually, they aimed at this, since there is no special compact optics, and special and not compact only in the plans.

        • Daulet

"Eurydeus" camera at the price of a7p3, d850, a73 '... but can you find out your understanding of the eurydeus camera?

  • Nikita

Cool camera. I don’t know what people are seething.
the fact that one slot is certainly sad. Everything else is normal.
in principle, Z6 as a replacement / alternative to the d750. I would take myself. I looked closely though for the d750.
Nikon, in principle, could not screw up with ergonomics, there are no fools sitting there, moreover, they already have tens of years of button space, a grip.

about the adapter. I'm sure af with glass will work like a native. I see no reason for them not to work.

crutches, * as someone here wrote) this is with Sonya and China in disguises.

    • Onotole

I will name one reason - the adapter does not have an autofocus motor.

      • Nikita

        AF S works, and good.
if they had put a screwdriver there, the price would be a veritable cassar of greenery.

        • anonym

Exactly. Because Nikon understands that if you sell for $ 350, then a project with a motor adapter will be unprofitable. Why? Because they don’t have time to sell much. From the first installments, a hype of surveyors will rise that these crutches are not needed and it is better to buy optics designed for the BZK. In the end: everyone will take a simple adapter complete with a carcass or not at all. :)

          • Onotole

Well, yes, “it is better to buy optics designed for UPC” - all three lenses.

  • DmitryK

Prices in Japan for new items:
    https://c2.staticflickr.com/2/1843/30386988898_465e501b83_h.jpg

    • DmitryK

      The Z7 with an adapter and 24-70 / 4 costs like a Canon 1DXMk2.

  • Nikonists are a sect

As I understand it, the z6 and z7 screens will not allow selfies to drift?

    • Daulet

Definitely not, although why on a professional camera like a7 p3 a folding screen? For vlogs, there is at least one de a6500 with 4k video and analogs from Fuji, etc.

      • Nikonists are a sect

But Nikon does not have a6500, so they could at least make the z6 more universal.

In vain the marketers of Nikon do not see the obvious, what is the future, the mirror is destined to die out like atavism.
A9, in the event of a successful pricing policy, can tear off a juicy piece of the reportage pro-camera market.
A7 is still a monopolist in its segment.

Let's look at the course of Canon, I think they will not repeat Nikon's rake dance.

        • Daulet

In general, yes, if Nikon continues to ignore the initial average and the segment of the market bze, then it will not be so right away, because as you say this is a sect ... you will need something more than З6 and З7, for example З8 with two slots but without support for lenses) )

          • anonym

It's funny, by God, when the eternal owners of the Cossacks, Muscovites and Lada discuss the flaws of the Bugatti Vieron.))

            • Onotole

              What's so funny about that?

              • Alexey

Well, like he has a Bugatti, so increases self-esteem.

  • Maksim

And someone explain, what are the main advantages of the BZK over the FF DSLRs, in addition to weight and dimensions? Weight and dimensions do not soar me much. On the contrary, many people also like to screw the handle for a more comfortable grip and weight distribution.

    Contrast autofocus?
Well, it’s on the DSLR in LiveView mode. Not to say that I often used this feature in everyday shooting. In sequential shooting, this is definitely not more convenient than through the peephole.

    • Arkady Shapoval

UPC and ZK have a lot of differences. You can begin to understand the difference even with differences in JVI or EVI.

      • Maksim

Arkady, thanks for the link to an interesting article about JVI and EVI.
It is equally interesting to read the discussions after the article. Feels like supporters of EVI are in the minority.

And you yourself in a situation of choice (BZK or ZK) would go for responsible commercial shooting (wedding, wedding, etc.) with the BZK? And if not, then why?

        • Arkady Shapoval

It doesn’t matter to me. I can go with anything. I shot Sony A7 on the BZK for half a year, it was inconvenient.
But if we take a very, very responsible shot, not even a wedding, but something more serious, then the Z6 / Z7 will not do. For all serious, there is the D5 / 1DX Mark II.
My opinion is that OBCs will really defeat SLR cameras when at least one camera comes out in the combo box format factor, like Canon / Nikon units. In the meantime, even the Sony A9 in this regard (and this is not only reliability and control) is inferior to the above ZK.

          • Alex7

Just some 5 years ago, D3S was enough for a very, very serious one, and in general, the seriousness has not changed much since then. :)

        • Alex7

The UPC is technologically superior over DSLRs, but physics cannot be fooled. Neither a small DOF, nor a telephoto in a compact case can be smelled, and using mini-cameras as appendages on large lenses is ergonomically not convenient.

In terms of form factor, the mobile phone will win. For the convenience and quality of the picture for specific tasks - UPC.
DSLRs will become narrow-minded, something that medium-format players are now, which will practically die out.

    • Michael

Weight and dimensions are rather a far-fetched advantage by marketers.
The main thing is hypothetical reliability, all-weather resistance. less mechanics.
Also, the lack of a mirror mechanism reduces camera shake (blur), removes the alignment problem (back-front focus) and hypothetically increases the rate of fire.
Also in the viewfinder you see not a real picture, but what the camera will take a picture of. Those. You see the setting BB, exposure, and other shooting parameters.

      • Daulet

it is also fashionable) but in fact everything was technically squeezed out of the DSLRs ... now it's time for bzk ... the main idea is that the absence of a mirror will give technical innovations ... what? time will tell.

        • Onotole

In fact - no. The next step in the evolution of Nikon / Kenon DSLRs will be a hybrid fusion with UPC: a dual viewfinder with switching between OVI and EVF modes, phase detection autofocus from the matrix in LiveView mode, focus-picking and a stabilizer on the matrix (the Pentax has long been and works great). After that, the UPC will not have a single advantage except the ability to attach optics with a short focal distance (with theoretically working autofocus for lenses of all brands) and a large aperture ratio (more than f / 1,2).

          • Daulet

This will not be a mirror)

            • Onotole

              Stupidity.
What else could it be? Is there a mirror? There is. So a DSLR. The fact that a couple of chips have been added to the already existing three hundred - the camera subspecies will not change. In fact, there are some pluses: if you want to shoot silently (once the mirror is raised and that's it), you shoot from an uncomfortable point - you took your eye away from the camera, the rear display turned on by the sensor. If you don't want to carry 2 kilos of batteries with you and need efficiency, you shoot through the mirror from the OVI. With manuals - focus picking what in EVI what on display. The beauty.
Moreover, you don’t even need to invent anything additionally, roughly speaking, it’s enough to put the matrix module from any of the BZKs that are currently available (they have phase autofocus and stub sensors) and combine EVI with OVI (this will probably be more complicated, but, I am sure it is also quite solvable with the current level of technology development).

              • Daulet

What about 5-axis stabilization? The mirror will not interfere .. and how to combine the optical channel with the evi? Okay, they will make a carcass with a stub and a huge mirror the size of a kind in a medium format camera ... let's say they even shove an Evie into an optical one, or make 2 eyes, or make a mini-screen of an Evie slide back and make a standard optical viewfinder from below ... how much will this miracle cost? Or like 985 + a7p3? Sense if the bzk has already reached a couple of generations and will overtake, if not in all performance characteristics, then in terms of shooting speed for sure? What for? It’s not easier for you to make an imitation of the same optical viewfinder by broadcasting a picture without exposure corrections and a cheap microphone is soldered to it, the shob “clicked” and darkening in the eyes has already been implemented))

              • Onotole

You look around - otherwise, apart from your Sonya, you don't see anything.
Five-axis stabilization has long been in the full-frame PENTAX K1 and works fine even without a huge mirror from the SF camera, the most common mirror.
For the price, all this will be an ordinary DSLR + the cost of EVI, that is, there will not be any difference (marketers, of course, can throw at least + 100% but this is outside the discussion topic)
And the point is not to carry a suitcase of batteries with you, and not endure the millions of other small and big inconveniences of a typical UPC, while getting almost all of the few advantages that the UPC now has over the UPC.
And do not change the system, by the way.

              • Daulet

Suppose, but a new bayonet for Nikon is needed not for 0.95, they have long been, and under the watering can and under the sony there is money ... new lenses that no one has .. and not the release of only cameras because people have stocked up with lenses, so there is already a market. So the transition to a bzk without hybrids will be because in the case of a hybrid, people will demand to leave the old bayonet ... and I can't believe that it will be cheaper than a bzk with a mirror than just a bzk

              • Onotole

I did not say that it will be cheaper.
But for the owners of the current system, the hybrid BZK + TsZK will be much cheaper than the BZK with a set of new optics for it.
And let the little girls buy new and better (in words, but in fact +/- everything is the same) lenses for the new bayonet mount, and the smart ones - buy a hybrid that will just be 50-100 grams heavier than a typical UPC of that the same level, and $ 300-500 more expensive.

              • Pashqwert

An interesting look to the future you have here. I will also try to look at the UPC and the ZK through the prism of promising developments of concave cushion-shaped matrices, a variable flange by moving the matrix, and with them completely new types of lenses on fundamentally new materials, 3D / multi-beam photography on single-lens systems. Well, the general trend of microelectronics “all-on-one-chip”, in my opinion, also does not add any chances for further development of DSLRs from an economic point of view because of the lower manufacturability (higher cost) of manufacturing devices with a mechanical mirror. Well, the volume of investments in the development of mobile devices equipped with cameras and extensions for them, incl. and post-processing programs on cloud computing with AI, having crumpled digital cameras and absorbing the amateur segment of DSLRs, I believe in the next 3-5 years it will become available everywhere and we will enter a “new film era”, when a person with a camera will be identified with a professional or a very wealthy / enthusiastic person as there will be many other things for everyone else.

      • Maksim

        Michael, thanks for the explanation.
What does it mean “removes the alignment problem (back-front focus)”?
That is, if I have a lens with a pronounced back focus, which I am not ready to fix at the service center, I can screw it through the adapter to the UPC and I will be happy - razor sharpness and 100% hit :)))? I doubt it very much.

        • Nikonists are a sect

On the BZK, hybrid autofocus, located directly on the matrix, so the matrix also sees what the sensors see.

        • Michael

Exactly. Because the question itself is the back-front of the focus and arises due to the design of the central control valve. You can use LiveView on the same DSLR and the back-front focus issue will cease to exist.

        • Pashqwert

Only the need to align the camera is removed.
100% hit - yes, because the principle of contrast, regardless of the wavelength of the forming image.
razor sharpness - from “yes” to “could have been better”, if the lens is not able to bring most of the rays of the spectrum into a single plane without adjustment, then where does the contrast and perceived sharpness come from?

  • Nikonists are a sect

More precisely and for a long time, this is how it is:
To implement autofocus, electronic sensors are placed on the mirror of SLR cameras. These sensors measure the phases of rays emanating from a single point, but traveling in different ways inside the lens. If the phases coincide, the point is in focus; if not, then the distance to the object can be estimated from the phase difference and the lens refocused at this distance. For several successive approximations, you can more or less accurately focus the lens.

Phase detection autofocus is fast and allows you to track out of focus subjects. But the number of possible focusing points is limited by the number of phase sensors (maximum a few dozen), it is not very accurate in general and is prone to systematic errors in particular. Since the sensors are located on the mirror, and not on the sensor, phase detection autofocus can systematically err "forward" (front focus) or backward ("back focus"). This is corrected either by fine-tuning a specific lens on a specific camera, or (partially) by introducing a software correction, the parameters of which are set manually.

In mirrorless mirrors, another principle is traditionally used: the edges of objects are programmatically highlighted and the position of the focal lens unit is sought, at which these edges are most contrasted. Contrast autofocus is very accurate and allows you to focus anywhere in the frame. For example, a photographer can point a point with a finger on the touch screen, or it can be selected by a recognition algorithm that distinguishes eyes and faces, and from a group of faces - relatives of the photographer. Under good shooting conditions, contrast autofocus is fast, but in the worst case, the camera has to completely scan the entire range of distances, which is quite a long time. In addition, contrast autofocus is systematically mistaken when tracking moving objects.

In practice, the BZK uses both principles, which successfully complement each other.

It seems so, can someone correct?

    • Ivan

      Everything is so, it seems)

    • Michael

Not this way. There are no sensors on the mirror, they are under the mirror. Focusing is carried out, as a rule, in one pass. Contrast focus doesn’t work that way either. But the general message is correct.

    • Arkady Shapoval

Not this way. Phase sensors are not on the mirror, but under the mirror. And on the mirror itself is suspended another mirror.

  • Ivan

Nikon's policy with a new bayonet did not please. Recently I thought about the transition to bzk t. it's really convenient. I did not want to change the system to Sonya. I really like the 7100 and 610 cameras. But they do not produce analogs and now they have a bzk without an F mount, and why should I buy a crutch transition and a bzk with 4 Nikon F lenses ... I'm leaving this sect. Lenses will obviously be expensive for the Z system. But the old system will most likely sag on the secondary ... You have to do everything as you intended. It's a pity Sony has no cameras for two flash drives.

    • Michael

The crutch will be of high quality, because inside one office and all protocols in one hand. And the question of the sect is another question. Maybe you should wait a little longer when a similar Boot is born?))

    • Arkady Shapoval

For d7100, there are both d7200 and d7500 and a little higher than d500
For d610 there is d750. Sony’s BZK system is also not cheap, I can sketch the proofs here. Yes, and Sony has all the latest full-frame BZK under 2 flash drives.
And such statements “sect”, “I am leaving”, etc. like dirt on the net.

    • Alex7

The cunning Chinese have long decrypted the protocols. There are adapters that are quite affordable, which allow you to use Nikon AF-S lenses on Sony, with autofocus and stabilization.
      Type of such https://www.ebay.com/itm/253554382608

So what if you want yours on the BZK - pick up at least Nikon Z + FTZ, at least SONY A7 + NF-NEX

      • Michael

Oh well. And stupid Sigma with Tamron will not decipher in any way ... “I don’t believe it!” (C)

        • Alex7

Dumb Sigma with Tamron respect patent law.
Do you need checkers or sigma?

          • Michael

They simply have not decrypted and will not decrypt, and there will always be compatibility problems, whether it be non-native lenses or adapters.

  • SashOK

This will be more interesting for their J1 systems (or whatever). Probably of all the photo makers, Nikon was the last to give birth to a real mirrorless. Prices of course in the beginning will be cosmic, especially for our “European” country with “European” salaries;)))
In general, I would like to have such a little thing, sometimes it’s just annoying to pull a SLR with both.

  • Arkady Shapoval

Oil on fire - for the Z6 / Z7 there will be no battery grip (with duplicate shutter release, focus, etc. buttons), but only a battery pack without control buttons. This is the first time I see such an absurdity, but, perhaps, third-party manufacturers will release them with duplicate buttons.

    • Valentine

A suitcase with batteries ... You can carry spare batteries in your bag, you can attach to the camera in the form of such a block. I think that is why there will be no top models either, since the power consumption of these cameras is still minus. Make at least a combined hull, at least an ordinary one, but their autonomy is inferior.

    • Eugene o

This is inaccurate information. The original article said that this is likely. No specifics.

      • Arkady Shapoval

In the interview they clearly said that without the shutter button there will be a battery pack.

  • Daulet

Latest news nikon officially announced that yes ... there will be a professional version of these 2x bzk type c as usual and yes there will be no battery grip on these cameras ... more precisely, there will be an additional attachment for 2x batteries but without vertical release ... the segment was removed ... but another question arose, given the prices and the latest news regarding all this, who is such a camera focused on?) Apparently to cut the dough from those who buy it twice, later releasing about the version with a battery handle two slots and a “pro” nameplate and there are innovations in marketing )

    • Onotole

The answer is very simple - for the girls who have heard somewhere that the BZK is kind of cool, the future and all that.

  • Ali

It must be assumed that a large bayonet mount was made to increase the area of the lenses. This will bring a 36X24 full-frame camera closer to bokeh and sharpness at the edges of the frame at the minimum aperture to medium-format quality. What I fundamentally dislike is one slot for a memory card and that XQD. In addition, the solution with tracking focus on the eyes is not clear. With modern technology, the absence of this very magnificent and convenient function is at least strange, but at the very least a marketing miscalculation. When aperture optics appear, I think Sony's lenses will not be the most expensive.

    • anonym

And also, a large bayonet mount and wide lenses, to a large extent, help improve the situation with a drop in contrast at the edges of the frame. According to XQD: I think this is a plus, I am not satisfied only with the lack of a 2nd backup slot in critical shootings.

    • Valentine

At minimum aperture? Zooms in on the edges of the frame in sharpness and bokeh? Medium format? … How many new theories can you learn? About banal things, like the one that many owners of Nikon SLR cameras take with a second / third camera with a bzk and often it's Sony (why don't they take the same bzk from Nikon?), Apparently, somehow I don't think. And the form factor so far is such that it will be either the second camera for advanced photographers, or the only one for amateurs. And do it in prof. performance, at least due to issues of power consumption, focusing speed, a narrow fleet of optics, the availability of fresh top-level SLR cameras, the need to eliminate all childhood diseases, etc. etc. - just early.

      • Daulet

I, too, am somehow tired of repeating that a wide bayonet mount will have an advantage only when shooting without a lens) there is a wider hole, but when shooting through the lens, the light will pass through the lens and not the bayonet mount, and even more so when the diaphragm is covered, the difference is that there will be no if it is, it will only be in raw form. But the question is if the d850 is the best DSLR with an old bayonet mount, it greatly hinders those who praise the bayonet mount. Is it possible to honestly say that the 850 horseradish camera because the lens mount is narrow and the picture there is so-so? No. This means that there is no gain in the new mount, not only before the d850, but also before Sony, Fuji, watering can and others. These are just new lenses and money for Nikon.

        • Alexey

You are both right and wrong. It’s wrong that the wide Z mount does not have advantages, it doesn’t have them only when using lenses for F mount. They are right that these are new lenses and a lot of money for Nikon.

  • Nikonists are a sect

Good bzk office made Nikon. Z6 and Z7 is precisely Nikon's vision of the needs of modern photographers. I am sure that there will be admirers, they will throw off the price a little and will take them apart, like hot cakes.
Competition is always friends with progress.
    More modern new bzk, more!

    • Daulet

Apparently this is an advanced camera at the price of pro cameras with an unclear future, and given the promise of an early "pro" version of these cameras, the future of these cameras is very gloomy

  • Perspective

And what are the general prospects for creating new matrices, the growth of DD and working ISO?
I mean that new cameras have appeared and will still appear, they will eliminate the shortcomings. And if you look at DXO, the turtle pace of sensor development is visible there over the past five years. And already with the release of new cameras, at least something adds only the lagging Canon.
I could decide on an expensive purchase, only having sufficient reason to believe that in a few years there will not be something significantly better for the same money. It's like buying the final Panasonic plasma in 2013 with the realization that development is complete and that nothing will be better for 5-7 years. Or buy, say, an 8th generation Core processor, with the understanding that the following will be better only by specification.

And what can we expect from the production of photomatrixes, maybe the topic under discussion from the point of view of investing money is irrelevant?

about the color in camouflage Z6: https://youtu.be/96Z__dHrbTE

  • anonym

For those who still did not understand and did not realize, Nikon simply made a sonorous slap in the face of Sony, this announcement was a spit in the face of the adherents of the Sony sect, announcing cameras comparable and reaching the top Sony cameras, but putting them in the category of only advanced amateur ones, thereby once again lowering Sony into the category of exclusively amateur cameras, but not professional! Deliberately holding his trump card in his sleeve, namely, the announcement of the mirrorless flagship from Nikon, which is still ahead after which Nikon will put Sonya on the shoulder blades, putting them back in place, this is the beginning of the war of mirrorless full frames, and this is the gambit from Nikon)))
It seems to me that Nikon intentionally cut the functionality of the cameras in order to release their flagship with new good optics with technologies that are still hidden by the campaign

    • Daulet

Yes really?))) Than hold out? unless at a price?))) while the price is the same as that of the “pro” d850 of your beloved nikon, then if someone whipped who and so nikon himself)))) does it hurt your eyes? 1 slot instead of 2x, there is no eye autofocus ... the video is not entirely clear ... okay, autofocus can be repaired with firmware, but the lack of a native optics park cannot be compensated for by firmware)) yes, there is an adapter ....

      • Alexey

Optics will be. And when it is, the flagship will be released, it would be foolish to release it now in the absence of optics. These cameras will indeed be amateurish and the price will probably be reduced. All right, in marketing, Nikon does not seem to be idiots. And these cameras will now be bought by wealthy amateurs chasing everything new, and yes, this is not mainly in our countries.

    • Nikonists are a sect

      How many high-profile epithets.
And until Nikon did not reach Sonya and looks in the bzk segment an ugly duckling.
      Let him try.

      • Alexey

No epithets, only facts and logic, and competition among designers of technology moves technological progress forward, even Nikon and Sony try to.

  • Daulet

Yeah Nikon specially "cut" his flagship ... it's still nonsense ... it's like the d850 is a stripped-down flagship that hasn't come out yet ... how can you argue against that? if they would have put something, because in its current form, the series W is waiting for a failure ... because they do not reach the dormouse as much as a generation, and those who do not come here to sleepyheads but who have 800, 810, 850 will continue to use their DSLRs because they are differently better than this miscarriage ... well, who will buy this "amateur" bzk for the price of a bzk from Sony, or a DSLR from the same nikon?

    • Alexey S.

I apologize if I suddenly get hurt.

Let me tell you that every comment you make is one hate. “Vykidish”, “failure”, “eye pricks”, etc. From where is so much? Have you personally offended by these cameras? Did you miss the desired wish? XQD card refused on shooting? Autofocus didn't work as well? Not in the eye? Or maybe the battery is dead suddenly? What happened to you if you don't sequeret?

      • Onotole

Yes, nothing happened to him, you just met another typical sleepyboy :)

  • anonym

It seems that canon recently surpasses all the announcement of the R.

    • Daulet

There are already screams worse than those of Nikon ... no stabilization, new bayonet, weak videos without logs, one memory slot, etc.

    • Max

Apparently exclusively in negative terms: /

    • anonym

He surpassed Nikon, only a starter kit of lenses, unfortunately. I wanted a more acute struggle on the market of the BZK. We, consumers, would only be a plus.

  • Pashqwert

Well, here's the Canon EOS R, I don’t see the future in the presented Nikon models.

  • anonym

What are all such pessimists? I have long dreamed of getting rid of mirror shakes, especially since the JVI lag should be invisible. Yes, expensive, but the lens models are pretty advanced. In addition, a large diameter will get rid of blurring in the corners and edges, all kinds of distortions.
And the weight of a full-format BZK is about the weight of a good cropped ZK.
And Nikon is no worse. Akuma should last longer, stabilizer inside. And the cost, they say, that they don’t seem to get much income from the cameras. So, market research. Suddenly lucky.
Otherwise, it does not happen. If the engineers had read our posts, they would not have understood at all what kind of camera we want, well, probably cheaper, so there is already a BU.

    • Alexey

This pessimism, it is from poverty, and the cameras are normal.

  • anonym

Oleg Zotov on the Z7 shot 3500 frames on one native battery. :)

    • Peter Sh.

Where does Zotov come from Z7? Nikon gave for review? These guys themselves say that in such cases an objective review should not be expected.

    • anonym

This is the one who earrings from photography, well, well. Let him go to a psychiatrist and hairdresser first.

  • Peter Sh.

A certain Mobile01 wrote a detailed review on Z7 in Basurman. There are a lot of hieroglyphs, which means detailed.
    In a nutshell.
    - 920 shots from the battery. Plus video. What is expected.
    - 20 frames in the buffer. JPEGs take longer to write to the card than RAW.
    - 5,5 frames per second. with autofocus.
    - AF is normal, but it slows down when you shoot anything low-contrast like clouds in the sky. Also slows down a lot in bad light. However, it can somehow focus in the dark. It is definitely incomparable with the D850.
It is clear that it is incomparable. The D850 has Nikon's best AF in the history of DSLRs. The system has been honed for decades, I would be very surprised if it were comparable. What were they doing there all this time?
    - At high ISO, the picture is the same as the D850.
I would even say that after the release of D3s, at high ISOs after processing, all full-frame Nikons will have the same picture.
    - Tamron does not work with lenses at all. With others, he works every other time and is reluctant.
Well, it's a matter of time. Basurman’s camera was raw, let's see how normal ones work.
    - Faces always guesses and keeps focus until you turn away. The Z zoom works great.
Well, Nikon. It is quite expected. It would be strange if it did not work.

I think the main advantage of Z is its wide mount and 16mm to the matrix. Surely it will be possible to do miracles with him. But in a clean and dusty place, otherwise you will need to constantly run to the master to wash the dirt from the matrix.

    review from Ken: https://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/mirrorless/z7.htm

    • Arkady Shapoval

Kenny had a review the day before the presentation of the camera. Do you know what that means?
“I've already ordered mine at Adorama (I'd also get it at Amazon or at B&H). While Nikon suggests it will ship on September 27th, only those who order it today are likely to get theirs anytime soon ”.
And now there’s not a single photo from her. I do not want to offend him, but any sensible person can reprint the instructions for the camera.
At the same time, the network is already full of more informative materials on the Z6 / Z7.

      • Valentine

I immediately noticed that Ken didn’t have a review, but rather technical calculations that had long spread across all technical sites on the network. The only thing is that he still retypes the parameters with some of his own thoughts about the innovations, pluses and minuses. And this, in general, is not without some interest.

  • Boduard

A lot of natural numbers from Nikon :)
