Waiting for Z mount

My previous note 'Not again, but again', about the downgrade of cameras in the amateur segment, found a great response among readers. Therefore, I will add one more similar note, which concerns downgrade in the advanced amateur segment, namely in Nikon D7500.

Niko D7500body

Niko Camera View D7500 body

Compared to the previous model Nikon D7200 with the new Nikon model D7500 The following functions have been simplified:

  1. Removed diaphragm rheostatallowing conveniently work with non-chip optics (all AI, AI-S lenses and any third-party lenses without a microprocessor that can be mounted on the camera).
  2. Removed the ability to use additional battery grip, which not only allows you to use multiple batteries or one more powerful battery, but also allows you to conveniently shoot with a vertical orientation of the camera.
  3. The number of frames per battery charge has decreased (not by much, but still).
  4. Removed NFC.
  5. Removed second slot for memory cards, and in a single slot, only cards with UHS-I high-speed tire.
  6. Decreased Resolution display from 1.222.800 to 922.000 points.
  7. The number of MP decreased from 24 to 20 (a very rare phenomenon in the world of photographic equipment).
  8. Perhaps there are others, you can tell in the comments.

However, in his article "Choosing an amateur Nikon camera and a lens for it”I position Nikon D7500 as the best solution for advanced amateurs (not counting the full frame).

    good that I bought 7200

    • anonym

It looks like the 7 thousandth line has ended.

  • Dmitriy

    Competition.
The cost of labor is becoming more expensive, materials and components are also constantly growing in price, and all manufacturers (and just the penny little things) are trying to keep the market. So they either remove the functionality, then use the components more simply, then save on the material, and what is most unpleasant, they have begun to do the last few years on quality.

    • koba

For the past 12 years, I have been working exactly where everything you write about happens - both the cost of labor and the cost of materials. I must disappoint you: the cost of materials is constantly decreasing, all world production works for this. And all this happens about once every 4 years, this is an approximate technological cycle in modern production, completely dependent on the peculiarities of the production of goods in China, in part, in other countries where capital is exported. The value of labor, as soon as the capital rises slightly, immediately runs in the other direction. The change in the mount in Nikon cannot be associated with labor or materials costs, there are no such changes to encourage the company in such savings, moreover, few people may know that, in fact, the sub-cost of cameras is no more than 25% of their retail price (only for the top ones, this figure is at around 50%), it is because of this that all companies rushed to produce photo teasers, because in fact they suddenly found a type of product where Chinese companies are not competitors to them and they can receive huge super profits! And the prices for lenses generally go off scale, in some cases companies manage to sell goods with a 400% profit (optical glass, which 20 years ago cost 1000 dollars per kg in Japan, was successfully replaced by various plastics and hybrid glasses, and China mastered the production of optical glass and now it costs no more than $ 250 per kg)! The quality of products does not fall by accident, but deliberately, in special divisions of companies (in most cases they are called the department of standardization) mechanisms are being developed according to which the goods should be out of order and become unusable or subject to paid service as soon as possible after the expiration date. And the rheostat, the second card and the battery pack were removed from the D7500, apparently, to kill some professional photographers from poor countries from the bad habit of using cropped cameras for professional work, thus stimulating sales of full-frame cameras, and getting more profit from expensive full-frame lenses. Please note that it is the removal of the second memory card that will push some photographers not to use the D7500 in prof. work, after all, the fear of losing the footage of prof. the photographer will get away from the D7500. By the way, really experienced photographers know one way to partially solve this issue: it is to use industrial grade maps, which are very expensive by the way, but almost 100% guaranteed against loss of recorded material. And if the market demands it, someone in China will quickly create a device for connecting to a camera, to which it will be possible to connect at least 5 cards in parallel mode (which the greed of multinational hichnik companies cannot push engineers to do!) ...

      • Arkady Shapoval

        Thanks for the reasonable comment.

  • Konstantin

Yes. Nikon is not the same.

    • anonym

All manufacturers are not the same. It used to be better :)

      • Arkady Shapoval

Used to be and the green channel in RGB was greener :)

        • anonym

Damn, for sure. And I couldn’t understand why there was so much whining about skinton :)

  • anonym

I apologize for the offtopic, but I want to know the opinion of Arkady and the inhabitants of the site. There is D7200 + tamron 70-200 g2 and 17-50. Does the full frame justify replacing 7200 with 610? I shoot mostly portraits and landscapes, purely for personal pleasure. Sometimes I’m working on shooting interiors. The transition to 610 scares with a smaller number of focus points and others, like small, but still downgrade functions, but a high iso strongly inclines to a full frame, since I also like to shoot at night. Plus, everything else with switching to ff is needed take 24-70, and that's another 40-60 thousand. Or stay on top crope, but let's buy let's say sigma 18-35 1.8f art to it?

    • Arkady Shapoval

      Good afternoon.
The top crop is not the Nikon D7200 or even the Nikon D7500, now it is the Nikon D500.
If everything suits you, it is better to stay. But, most likely, if your occupation of photographs is in demand, then the worm of a full frame will eat up moral strength for a long time and sooner or later you will have to take a full frame. Ravs with d610 run much better than with d7200, especially at high ISO, this, in my opinion, is the main advantage of d610. At one time, I printed a610-a4 with d3 with ISO 6400 and even 12.800 (Hi1) without processing (just built-in noise reduction).

      • anonym

Thank you very much for the answer, yes you are right the worm is already eating)

    • RUSLAN

Sam switched from a more advanced crop to FF. Glad incredibly! High working ISO and 16-bit RAV.

      • DmitryK

        Ruslan, probably 14-bit after all.

        • RUSLAN

No, no, exactly 16. Canon 6d. I watched it myself. I don’t remember where only. Just delighted with him. And with DZHIPIES yet. High in high iso workers. Now I'm shooting in M-mode, with iso-auto!

          • Onotole

That's impossible. Somewhere you still made a mistake.

            • RUSLAN

              Now I will search.)

            • RUSLAN

              Types of Photo Files
JPEG (Exif 2.21 compatible [Exif Print]) / Design Rule for Camera File System (2.0) camera file system standard,
RAW: RAW, M-RAW, S-RAW (14-bit, original Canon RAW, version 2),
Digital Print Order Format [DPOF] Version 1.1 Compatible
This is on the site. Indeed, 14. He did not understand. I'll look for one more.

            • RUSLAN

Ugh, I'm a goof.))) Mixed up, 12/14 bit and 14/16. It sunk into my head. Yes, I'm sorry, I was wrong. Arkady, do small cameras have 16-bit RAVs? I know about the average.

              • Onotole

As far as I know, there are none yet.

              • Arkady Shapoval

Did not met. Some people trick and may point to 16-bit, but the trick is that 16-bit is only for Tiff and only when converting a 14-bit rava.

  • Artem

In my personal opinion, the worst line of cameras is 7xxx. At one time, he had d7000, so he just spat on the color, downloaded the ditches and did not know where to turn, everywhere the hat))). After the initial line, only FF makes sense. Many ff is simply unnecessary, and then a dilemma arises, because in addition to the old d300, there is nothing to take from Nikon. I do not take into account the d500, which is already closer to ff in weight and price.
Apparently this is a way to reduce the cost of production, unsuccessful and leading nowhere.

    • Arkady Shapoval

The d7000 itself is an excellent, balanced camera, judging it by one color, developed by outsiders, is not fair. Although, yes, I believe, purple shades from d7000 and the same lightrum can not be overcome by everyone.

      • Denis

Canon 1100d in lightroom is no better, all the same gray-green faces

    • Alexander

Come on, “the worst 7xxx line” ...! This line is just the best ... If you set up the in-camera color control correctly, then in many cases, when shooting with normal lighting, even Jpeg practically does not need to be edited, for amateur purposes you can print right away ... Why say such nasty things ...

      • Artem

Alexander well, if the black camera shows purple, this is normal. okay. super color straight. the jeepg is generally not subject to customization, let alone portraits. If you have a lot of time to sit in editors, the camera is for you.

        • Dmitriy

At one time, the d7000 repelled me from any desire to somehow come into contact with Nikon's technology. That monstrous distortion in color and cadaverous skin tone in the photo.

          • NE

I am absolutely not trying to refute it, but the most interesting thing is that the matrix of the d7000 is the same as that of the 5100. But I just like the colors of the 5100. And moreover, some of the Pentax has the same matrix .. It seems that the matter is in “mathematics” .. And why not fix it then?

    • Midas

The 7500 has excellent color reproduction, just wonderful. She takes off exactly as she sees the eye.

      • NE

Are the colors good for portraits?

  • Vladimir

The number of MPs decreased from 24 to 20 (a very rare phenomenon in the world of photographic equipment)

Aha, aha ... We grinded the matrix from the D500, made it worse.

    • Vitaly N

No worse. 24 megapixels on crop greatly limit the ability to press the diaphragm. We compared the pixel size with the D850.

      • Vladimir

I know. In this case, changing the matrix was beneficial.

  • Onotole

This is not a reduction in price - this is a clever marketing calculation. Moreover, unlike the situation with the D3400, this really affects real and potential users. Because in this segment it is quite realistic and not in theory - the use of the camera for commercial purposes, with all that it implies.
And paragraphs 2,3, 5 and 500 make it quite clear that Nikon does not want to give the public a cheap camera, which is otherwise well adapted to reportage and other commercial photography. If you want a full package for commercial use, go for the D2. "Oh, you just for yourself, for the family for the house, to take pictures of birds - well, then you don't need any XNUMX slots and a battery grip, why are you fooling us here?"

Point 6 - this is, perhaps, yes - obviously, savings, so that the price tag looks more attractive in the online store and then people who read the guides will say - but this is blah blah blah the cheapest camera in its segment or something like that.

Point 1, as I already said, is not worth paying attention to, it will almost not play a practical role - after all, this is a crop after all.

Point 7 - and at all, perhaps a plus. Just don't think that this is because Nikon suddenly became generous. It's just that for him it is the unification of production. Martis for D500, D7500, D850 are made (if very roughly) on the same machine, and it doesn't matter that Sonya and not Nikon himself - production costs are reduced anyway. If you save money, you can count it, it is the law of any business.

But why they removed NFC - I honestly did not understand at all. And there is really no saving, and an extra feature on an advertising poster cannot be declared. But, I am absolutely sure that there is some rational meaning here, just incomprehensible to me

    • Arkady Shapoval

Suddenly, under item 1, it turns out that the number of compatible optics with the d7500 has grown. If on the d7200 it was impossible to mount NON-AI lenses without alteration because of this rheostat itself, then on the d7500, like any other camera with a recessed lever EE, you can install all the oldest NON-AI / PRE-AI lenses.
I like the theory that in the days when there was no d500, and d300s was outdated and even laid off, part of the niche of this line was pulled by the d7100-d7200. And with the release of the d500, the new d7500 was unloaded, made closer to the d90. If you remember, there was d90 and d300 / 300s. Now d500 and d7500. But my theory may not be particularly true.

      • Onotole

Good theory, very slim, I like it too. It seems to me it may be very close to the truth.

  • Pokekmon

It is not entirely clear which line of old lenses the new mount will support. How will screwdriver glasses be supported ...
Canon seemed to have a change of mount and judging by the comments on foreign sites, people still remember this.

  • scif

Well, somehow click to sell the d500, so they cut everything that could be with a knife. I'm shocked by Nikon

  • Alexey

I don’t know how anyone, for me one of the main things is the use of manual optics. Therefore, I jumped from "nikon" and switched to "sony a7" because of the flexibility of using manuals.

    • Onotole

a7 is far from the most flexible solution regarding manuals, it was necessary to take at least a7m2 - then there would be autofocus with manuals.

      • Alexey

To each his own)) To overpay another 50%, for what? I'd rather buy more useful camera accessories for this money. I do not shoot reports, “help for MF” is always on for me, + picking and I can handle it well without this autofocus, with a little practice with my lenses, you can even shoot quite dynamic scenes.

        • Onotole

          Again this Tretyreich slogan ...
In the same way, I can say - on my SLR I do not shoot reports, a large and bright viewfinder (absolutely no brakes, an infinite number of frames per second) + a green dot and an electronic rangefinder that tells you where to turn the focusing ring.
And in the end, everything will be reduced to the focal length, which allows Sony to install a larger number of lenses. And all this talk about some kind of special convenience of working with manuals at the BZK - well, you get the idea.

          • Alexey

Suum cuique is one of the basic principles of law, the Greeks, Romans, and of course Alexei are not to blame for discrediting this phrase, as well as the Hindus in the symbol. Onotole is not good to run over like that.

            • Onotole

I don't run around, it just seemed interesting that usually you rarely hear this, but here - for the third time in two days.

  • Denis

Hello Arkady! I think you are too dramatic. The market is the market! You have to pay for everything ... SLR cameras are not in vain divided into different price segments. If the camera belongs to the amateur segment, then this implies the fact that the person who buys it will only use it for themselves. He doesn't need the support of old lenses. Because such cameras are mostly bought by those people who shoot in auto mode. They need auto focus. Such people don't really want to delve into the intricacies of photography, they are even too lazy to read the instructions for the camera ... So why do they need support for old non-chip, non-auto-focus lenses? I think in such a huge and serious company like Nikon, with its century-old history, stupid and frivolous people do not work. I'm more than sure Nikon has a dedicated department looking into the needs of its customers. And on the basis of the information received, they draw conclusions about what functions are needed in the cameras of various segments.

Well, now to the point. Who uses NFC? Personally, I don't even know why this is necessary ... How many people use a battery grip? Is it really so necessary two slots for a memory card? I had a D7100, I always used only one card, there was never any loss of information. What if you put in two memory cards and they both fail at the same time? Then demand a third or fourth slot from the manufacturer?

And lastly. All the same, whatever one may say, but using a crop camera for commercial shooting is like pulling out tonsils through your mouth ... Here is taken as an example of you (but no offense of course). One way or another, you yourself have switched to D700 for wedding photography! Whatever one may say, but the quality of professional cameras is much higher than that of crop cameras. And what kind of commercial shooting can be on a crop if there are no high-quality lenses for crop cameras (design, image quality, convenient viewing angles).

And the most important thing! Focusing manually on crop cameras with their microscopic viewfinders is mazahism ...

    • Arkady Shapoval

I'm not dramatizing at all. The note simply states the facts. If I am dramatizing somewhere - specify it specifically.
Now the answers to the questions:

So why do they need support for old non-chipovye, not auto-focus lenses?

The people you describe don't really need manual lenses. But look what happens: D7500 belongs to the advanced amateur level, which still implies the ability of the user to improve their skills and immerse themselves in the world of photography and photographic equipment. The price tag of the camera and the set of its capabilities speaks about this. People who shoot everything in a vending machine, for themselves, should focus on the model range with D5600, D3400, for which it is intended. Also, in no way this does not negate the presence of those people who still get to manual lenses. And here I would like to point out that an unchipped / manual lens is not always bad or old. The same original 50 / 1,2 is still being produced and can serve as an excellent creative solution, especially during thoughtful video filming, but the video recording capabilities of the D7500 are not bad (but not good either).
Also, the main reason why this article appeared was the downgrade compared to the d7200. Everything is relative. In the general case, progress only increases the capabilities and functions, here we see that, although in the details, some functions or opportunities have been removed.

Well, now to the point. Who uses NFC?

I find it difficult to answer this question. But I also want to note that in the CIS countries, progress is significantly behind the Western world, because I am sure that there will be many users who find this feature useful, or will be useful in the future.

How many people use a battery pen?

Yes, enough, especially judging by my friends. If anyone does not know, then the battery handle is needed not so much to increase the power reserve of the camera, but rather for convenience. On my old man, the d90 can’t do without it, especially if you have to work with the camera for a long time.

Is it really necessary two slots for a memory card?

Everyone decides for himself. In any case, it is convenient, but in the professional segment it is extremely necessary. The question of whether 2 slots are needed in the amateur segment is open. The fact that you had such an experience is only your experience, which should also be considered along with other users.

But what if you put two memory cards, and they both fail at the same time? Demand then from the manufacturer of the third or fourth slot?

The probability is many times lower. Maybe even hundreds of times. Also, two slots not only make shooting safer, but also provide other implicit amenities.

All the same, don’t twist, but using a crop camera for commercial shooting is like pulling glands out of your mouth ... Here you are taken as an example (only no offense of course). One way or another, you yourself switched to the D700 for shooting weddings!

I can shoot commerce for anything, life made me. In a previous post, I wrote that this weekend I took about 1000 pictures on d40 and 100/2, it was boring while the operator worked with a couple. And about 5000 to another camera, also a crop, for 17 hours of working a day with the camera, I know exactly what should be in the camera and what is not. For crop there are not a lot of original lenses, but still if you look at the Nikon system, then it has two or three good lenses for crop. Specifically, 17-55 / 2.8, 12-24 / 2.8, 10 / 2.8, and televisions are possible from a full frame.

Note again, I am not in a pessimistic mood. I give out information, in this case a set of facts about the difference between d7200 and d7500 is not in favor of d7500. How the public will perceive it is its business :). Someone protects, someone spread rot, and someone photographs.

      • Denis

Nikon divides its cameras into two classes - pro and amateur. It was the users themselves who came up with such a name as-advanced amateur, semi-pro. Here you need to proceed from the manufacturer's logic !!! Since it is an amateur one, it means it has auto-modes, it means that old glasses are useless. If you want to be a pro or aspire to become one, buy professional equipment. We (users) see from our bell tower, the manufacturer from ours. And I think it's not casual. Nikon is not having the best of times, it is necessary to look for new solutions for sales, so they found them ...

With regards to myself. I had a D7100. I have a desire and a desire for development. I want to reach a serious level of photography. For this I decided to buy a 17-55 / 2.8 In Belarus, it is not realistic to do this !!! Six sellers gave the same answer - out of production !!! I made a simple conclusion, everything is for sale, the transition to FF. There is no other way.

With regards to slots and flash cards. You should not be sorry and buy only high-quality cards, then there will be no need for the second slot. Miser pays twice…

        • Onotole

No, your logic is too simplistic and straightforward. In the next topic about the D3400 pipka, I and another participant in the discussion explained in detail the lack of sense in using manuals on the crop.
As for the cards, you are also wrong. Practice and user reviews show that fakups with cards happen with about +/- the same probability, either from the Chinese non-name, or from other and reputable offices. Maybe somewhere a little more often, somewhere a little less often, but the result is the same. And if you are a real professional, then you should be horrified even by the thought of such a possibility, especially if you live and work in a truly rule-of-law state - you can stay without pants and save five hundred bucks on a camera with 2 slots.

          • Arkady Shapoval

I had troubles with cards. Once, only half the card was pulled out of the camera, responsible shooting for a nightclub. Sparing money on equipment is not worth it, but in our realities you need to do everything as optimally as possible.

            • NE

Also recently encountered. CF failed, and d800 did not spill over to SD, but fell into a stupor - card error or something like that. Only after the physical withdrawal of CF (main by default) switched to using SD. At the most crucial moment… .X.z7, what would it have been if it were not for the overflow mode? and the duplication mode

          • Denis

I see your logic already has nowhere to go ...
For ten years of using SLR cameras from Nikon, there have never been problems with flash drives. Proposal to Arkady, do a survey of your readers regarding the loss of information from flash cards.

            • Onotole

There is always where to go.
As for the survey - in fact, it has already been, there is no point in doing it again. Look in the Question-Answer heading, somehow we were talking about spontaneous zeroing of photos from memory cards and users began to actively unsubscribe about such problems.
As for the logic “I didn’t have - that means no one had”, then excuse me, but this is the level of very young children who are not yet able to understand that their personal insignificant experience is not identical to the experience of everyone else.

              • Denis

Is your surname accidentally not Wasserman ???

              • Onotole

But in fact, there is something to say? What kind of transitions on the person? Are we discussing me here go problem with memory cards?

              • Denis

I can say a lot. But your behavior disgusts you. Make yourself so smart ...

              • Onotole

Again the discussion of personalities, let's stop this. If you have something to say on the case - speak up. The fact that you personally did not like me for some unknown reason - keep it to yourself. For example, I don’t notice your boorish behavior, I discuss only the subject and the statement on it, and I don’t comment on your behavior. Why do you allow yourself this?

          • zengarden

            > In the next topic about the D3400 pip, I and another participant in the discussion explained in detail the lack of sense in using manuals on the crop.

You have explained YOUR position and opinion on this issue, which, of course, is the only true and indisputable, right? But I, for example, shoot more with manual optics. And I have a crop. It's just a hobby, a passion. I like it, but I don't impose my opinion on anyone.

            • Onotole

Personally, you can theoretically do anything, any nonsense. This hypothetical nonsense will not add any sense from this. You can put the old 18-55 / 3.5-5.6 on the D850, such a hobby a person can have. You can even put SF lenses on micro 4/3 and get some results. Someone shoots close-up portraits on a clear summer afternoon in an open field on the phone and finds in this some kind of local meaning.
And what I'm talking about is just common sense. Moreover, I did not notice that I was imposing it on someone, trying to prohibit or order to do something.
Whether to go against common sense is everyone's personal choice.

        • anonym

I’ll tell you a secret, just don’t tell anyone: you can go to a serious level of photography without 17-55 / 2,8 :)

        • Artem

Denis Nikon divides his cameras into three categories, beginner, amateur, and professional. if you don't need any functions, do not use. The article says what was in the older model, but now it is not. you can of course use a whale lens all your life. after all, guided by your logic, "why change". one focus point. and put in a 20 mgp camera - 5 mgp jeepg))))

      • Onotole

        plus one,
small correction - 12-24 / 4. And I would also add the irreplaceable 35 / 1.8 to this list, which, although not sold, gives out very good quality without any discounts, and only for its price ...

        • Arkady Shapoval

oops, exactly 12-24 / 4, and there 10.5 / 2.8. And the 35-tka is still more a national budget favorite

          • Michael

Plastic of course. But optically good. Better only if Sigmu 35 1.4 or the same Nikon.

            • Arkady Shapoval

There are Nikon 16-80mm F2.8-4 with a gold border (referring to the professional line), an analogue of the full-frame FX 24-120 / 4, but somehow I do not trust him yet.

  • Alexander

It seems like they imprisoned for video filming?

  • Anna

I have a D7200. NFC in this camera is a cute toy, no more. It serves only to activate wi-fi. Which is so slow that it’s faster to turn it on manually.

The D7500 uses a fast Bluetooth connection - Snapbridge.

The axial items only make me sad.

  • NE

And which of the Nikon Central Controllers now have the best color rendition for filming?

    • anonym

Everything if you develop RAW in native Capture NX. If you are not satisfied with the skin tone in the standard camjpeg profile and have doubts “how to set it up?” - just turn on profile portrait.

      • NE

here's what I don’t use in pursuit of normal color: from ViewNX to RPP. But it looks like the requirements for color are different for you and me ...

    • Artem

for portraits of d850, in general, in terms of color, it has departed from the latest Nikon novelties (7 years minimum). for the better

      • anonym

Good advice, but not very budgetary. I'm afraid it won't suit everyone. :)

      • NE

Yes, I read somewhere that in the d850 they finally did something with the color ... Here I have a d5100, the colors with which (including the skin tone) I really like. I use it for portraits while I'm alive ... I won't take the 850th, that's for sure. But, apparently, I will have to go to canon. Looking closely at the 7d mark II ...

  • Max

Forgot to add the most important thing, that the price of the camera, with all the functionality being cut down, has grown one and a half times. Now the camera costs as much as the d610.

    • anonym

Here! And I'm talking about the same, otherwise they are already trying to justify, they say: “we need to reduce the cost, competition, etc.”, and the price tag, in comparison with d7100-7200 at the start of sales, has jumped significantly. And at the same time, castration ...

  • Igor

I did not understand the price. Does the D7500 cost as much as the D610?
I have been using the D610 for half a year. Before that there was a budget canon.
After the canon, the red faces in Nikon's performance begin to get out. Magenta just creeps everywhere. The balance is white in the car. I need to do something and study the question of how to configure the camera optimally.

    • Onotole

You can just read the instructions. It describes in detail how to reduce, for example, the magenta.

      • Vladimir

        Share your experience? :)

        • Onotole

Experience reading instructions? Well, good. So the experience is such, in principle, this activity is rather boring and tedious: books are usually voluminous, everything is written in a short and dry language, there are a lot of numbers that you need to constantly memorize, endless links-references-footnotes, the plot does not exist as such at all, the picture is black and whites are rarely interesting, but there are many of them.
And if it's serious, then using the example of D5100 - we find instructions, for example, on the office of Nikon's support http://www.nikonsupport.eu/europe/Manuals/D5100/D5100RM_Ru_02.pdf, and right on page 83 we read about fine-tuning the white balance, just 4 simple steps.

          • Vladimir

Ah, this is ... I really thought about the unknown great secret. :))

    • Max

The difference in price is less than UAH 1000, i.e. about $ 40, d610 is a little more expensive, but I think this is not such a significant amount when buying equipment.

  • andrey.ali

It’s good that I sold d7200 and bought fuji)))) I’m glad that I jumped from this marketing needle

    • anonym

Jumped from one needle and immediately sat on the other))

      • Onotole

Yeah, he quit injecting, began to throw wheels))))))

    • Denis

      It’s good that I sold d7200

      Yes

      and bought fuji

oh in vain. had to invest in gold

    • anonym

You have not gone anywhere from the marketing needle, all manufacturers have it. To Fujikam, I myself look closely, waiting for what will roll out Nikon with mirrorless cameras. And yes, for those. Whoever chooses and wants to shoot mainly in jpeg, Fujik, in my opinion, is the best choice, especially in terms of color rendition + cool profiles.

      • andrey.ali

I understand about marketing, but the nikon that I loved very much turned to me in the ass, I waited for the d7500, but after reading the reviews, watching how he shoots the video, I realized that I wouldn’t wet my grandmother there. Just a lot of points on which crop Fujik settles the crop from Nikon to the shoulder blades.

        • anonym

          Love, this is ... :)

        • Onotole

Sorry for the small digression, but what city / country are you from?
It’s just that I’m very interested, do you have some features in speech that I have never seen before, where do they talk like that?

          • andrey.ali

Ukraine, the hero city of Rivne

          • andrey.ali

In general, in life I speak Ukrainian, but since we have an international site here, I have to write in Moskal.

          • Andrei

This is a surzhik. The localization is potentially vast ...

            • andrey.ali

Here we are off topic, you should have told me why Fuji is bad)

              • Andrei

                I don’t owe you anything ...

              • Onotole

                I see. Thanks.
Fujik is not bad at all, on the contrary, I would say very good. But at the same time, I do not see any bright and uncompromising advantages over the same 7200 or something like that.
Maybe in some ways a little better, in some ways a little worse - it very much depends on the subject. And, of course, there are no objective global differences that could force such expenses as a complete change of the ecosystem to be made.

              • anonym

Well, this is a separate topic that needs to be opened, like: "what is better Kenon or Nikon?" or “Well, I don’t understand, should I switch to Mac from Windows?”.

              • andrey.ali

Onotole, I had a large “ecosystem” of Nikon, but when I took the x-pro2 with 35 1.4 for the test, I ran the tests, namely: color, autofocus accuracy, noise at high ISO, I saw not a little worse, a little better, but it is a big lead in the direction of fuji. I am not promoting anything here, I am just sharing my experience. And I was especially struck by how accurately and smoothly autofocus works when you shoot video on the X-T20.

              • Max

Yes, no one says that Fujik is bad, it's quite a good camera. There was an opportunity at one time to drive a week with xt10, I really liked the camera. A bad camera is the Polo D3000 from the reviews of Arcadia

              • Andrei

I looked for fun for the sake of the corresponding group on flickr. For those who can shoot, the picture is quite decent (provided that the style of the Fuji cameras does not cause rejection in principle). Those who do not know how to shoot, all the faces of the characters are brown, regardless of race, lighting and other things.

    • NE

Fuck with her, with a needle. Are you essentially satisfied?

  • andrey.ali

Guys, envy in silence) And if without jokes, I saw the quality that gives a small x-t20, while I had two cameras I did a bunch of tests so I know what I'm talking about. I stopped shooting in the rabbi !! Suck Jared Pauline))))

    • Onotole

Well, yes, in spite of Pauline stopped shooting raw))

-Today, I strongly salted the tram conductor.
      Is that so?
      I bought a ticket, but I didn’t go myself!

    • Denis

      while more like makreting fuja)

      • zengarden

More like common sense. Of course, there are tasks where it is REQUIRED to shoot in RAW, but for most everyday tasks this is not necessary, because the camera can be configured for a finished result for specific conditions (there are finely customizable profiles).
If you have Fuji, of course :) a joke ...

    • Artem

Andrei.ali Fuji still has childhood illnesses, I'm waiting for x-t30))) Jeep is normal in Fuji, but there is a problem with autofocus, and sometimes some thoughtfulness of the camera. Well, for battery voracity, Fujiku has no equal)

      • andrey.ali

As for autofocus, I will not say that there are problems, there is a very flexible autofocus setting, you just need to read a lot on the forums that smart people write. On batteries - I bought another battery, I solved the problem. The only thing in the d7200 was weather protection, this is not enough in fuji, with it somehow I'm not sure I feel myself in the rain, snow, and near the water)) But on the other hand, I began to take fuj with me more often. Nikon I often did not take because of its large dimensions.

  • zengarden

So everything is logical - they can't produce a camera that can compete with the older lines. Just a business, a grin of capitalism :) and who needs the removed functions - let him buy D8 **

  • Madame Broshkina

For some reason, no one says that a smoothing filter was returned to the D7500. This is also a fad to downgrade

    • Max

Judging by the reviews of the AA filter, there’s just no

  • anonym

By the way, in addition to castration, a few new buns were brought into the camera
    Of the minuses:
    - removed the diaphragm rheostat
-Removed the second slot for memory cards
    - removed the ability to use battery pens
-customized the information screen (became smaller)
    From the new
-new matrix (aa filter is not there)
    -new meter meter
-fire rate 8x plus buffer increased
    -snapbridge (well, that)
-Camera has become smaller and lighter
    rotary touch screen
-changed the i and info buttons
-4k video and fullHd video without crop
    - AND THE MOST IMPORTANT BUTTON OF ISO IS IN THE HUMAN PLACE !!!!

  • Noa

But I'm still more interested in how much their full-frame mirrorless will cost? It’s like she’s expected Z mount

  • Ivan Shikhalev

    > Removed the ability to use an additional battery grip

    And how is that?

  • NE

If you buy the first CZK, then who will buy the 7500, if you can take canon 7d for the same money? I read somewhere that the price tag for 7d mark 3, expected this year, will be the same as for mark 2.

    • Denis

He will take who already has glass from Nikon

  • Boris

What topic do not start, anyway fall to a discussion of color. I’m interested in the answers of any people who unsubscribe by color (plus or minus) to three simple questions:
    1. Do you have a minimum IPS monitor that has hardware calibration done?
    2. When installing the BB, do you use the factory 18% gray card / color target?
    3. Do you talk about color based on personal perception, confirmed by measurement data in the LAB space, and also distinguish common spurious shades from a local non-linear color representation?

    • NE

Of course, everything is subjective. I look at my and my father's slides from the 70s - 80s (ORWO UT-18). The colors are not quite right or rather wrong, but beautiful .. This is what we are talking about. And paragraphs 1-2 - this is actually the basis for starting with a serious conversation ... Only now, again, that's right - it's not necessarily beautiful. In addition, there is one more approach, “all other things being equal” is called ...

      • Valentine

Well, I did it “nicely” even on the “wrong” monitor “all other things being equal”. Showed on another monitor / printed, already ugly.

        • NE

          Do not distort :)

    • Onotole

For a long time, I too could not understand what all these skintoneers were talking about. What other colors do they need? What a “powder” with “potatoes”. I did not believe that not only monitors with Delta E are less than 2, but the workspace is organized taking into account the requirements for working with color.
As a result, I came to the conclusion that under “skin tone” is meant more tone than color. Thus, the “wrong” skin tone can be seen immediately and on almost any monitor (since the technique copes with tonal gradations much better than with color). In any case, adjusting the desired skin tone is not a big problem in editors, provided that you know how to use them.

      • zengarden

“Skinton” is a myth invented by kenonists :) it’s just that there is a built-in hardware skin tone enhancer that “looked like the real thing”.

        • NE

Yes Yes Yes. That's exactly what I want in nikon :)

          • zengarden

Nikon had the same, only for landscapes :)
And in the new 850, in general, everything is in order with the “skinton”, and with everything else.

            • Andrei

Well yes, here is a tip from the lucky owner of the 850: “… the colors are very different from the previous models. They look more like a canon than the old Nikon. After 800 they seem perfect. ” Not weak for three and a half pieces on the price tag.

        • Denis

In my opinion, this is generally stupid stupidity about this skin tone! How many I do not look at people, I do not see the right skin tone for anyone! Each has its own characteristics.

          • NE

No, not stupid. Just literally the taste and color of a friend

            • Denis

It's just that the whole photo tastes and colors ...

          • Andrei

Have you tried to shoot with Zenitars? - There is a skintone so skintone ...

            • anonym

Don't do this stupid thing, sir! Do not mislead beginners.

        • NE

By the way, Pentax K-1 (and maybe other Pentaxes) has a separate menu item about skin in the settings ...

      • Valentine

Sorry, but not very clear. The color has a hue, saturation and lightness. That is, the dispute is not about the shade, but about its lightness or something? I believe that all the same, we are talking about different shades, otherwise we would not have written about these green, blue, red, yellow faces.

        • Onotole

Those who write about green, blue, red, yellow faces do not understand what they are talking about at all and they do not know how to adjust the camera even a little bit. When using a gray card, or simply setting the white balance even by eye, none of the above will happen. Unless, of course, you do not shoot near the green wall (well, then this is generally a clinic - then, it turns out, people still, corny, do not know how to shoot). The point is that everything is displayed on a gray card, the BB is ideal, the exposure is correct (also very, very important!), All monitors are calibrated, and people seem to be covered with a layer of powder. And it can be seen equally well on a high-quality monitor (by the way, even much stronger than on a cheap TN) and on the display of a camera.
That's right, color has hue, saturation, and lightness. And the solution is precisely in the ratio of saturation depending on the lightness of the tone. This ratio does not correspond to the settings of the Kenon cameras and, let's say, the color rendering of the film, which is what the viewer expects. But this, as you might guess, is quite easy to fix, I use any editor with support for LAB - color space.

          • Valentine

            So clearer, thanks.

          • NE

            Thanks, Onotole!

          • Onotole

Somehow this is how I see myself fighting the so-called “Nikon's seryatina”.
Photo - Arcadia from the 58 / 1,4G review. Of course, I understand perfectly well that everything that is somehow connected with color is subjective by definition. This follows from the very concept of color. But pay attention that the color itself remained practically the same (I “warmed up” just a little), but the tone changed, although the lightness also remained almost the same.
            z_nikon_58mm_f_1_4_samples_3_1
I will be glad to constructive criticism.

            • Valentine

You've increased contrast and sharpness. Contrast can change both brightness and color at the same time. But this is not a question of skin tone, this is a correction of the picture as a whole. The reason for the slightly reduced contrast in the original image is the profile based on the neutral one. When shooting in RAW, I myself prefer this “out of reach” picture, it is easier to get the desired result from it. It is clear that the general correction of the image partly affects the skin tone, but still these are separate issues.

            • Andrei

As I understand it, you want to say that with skillful work with sliders, the Nikon color is brought to acceptable. In my humble opinion, in the experimental photo, the Ivoire Naturel tonnage is simply replaced by the Pêche Pâle.
