In this review, the YONGNUO LENS 100mm 1: 2 YN100mm F2 will be abbreviated as Yongnuo 100/2. The review shows the version for cameras Canon EOS.
In short
Yongnuo 100/2 - copy of the original lens Canon Lens EF 100mm 1: 2 Ultrasonic.
The Yongnuo 100/2 acts as a fast, short telephoto prime lens. One of its main purposes is portrait photography.
Optically not strong on F / 2.0besides he is very often makes mistakes during auto focus on cameras with simple phase focusing systems and has serious focus problems in live view with some cameras.
Yongnuo 100/2 attracts with the low cost and 90% of the theoretical possibilities that the original Canon Lens EF 100mm 1: 2 Ultrasonic.
Spoiler: it is possible that my review was not the most successful instance of Yongnuo 100/2.
History
Yongnuo 100/2 for Canon EOS cameras first appeared on the official website on October 31, 2016.
August 1, 2017 the lens appeared on the site Yongnuo 100mm 1: 2 (model YN100mm F2N) for Nikon cameras and at the end of September 2017 went on sale.
The Yongnuo 100/2 is the company's first and only lens to feature virtually the same body design for both Nikon and Canon versions.
Let me remind you that the first lens from Yongnuo Digital was a fifty dollars for Canon EOS cameras - Yongnuo Lens EF 50mm 1: 1.8 (YN50mm F1.8) submitted on December 27, 2014.

Assembly
The lens came to the review completely new.
In a small box is a warranty card, instructions in Chinese and English, and the lens itself with a front (YN-58) and a back cover. The box is made in the colors typical of the golden boxes of Nikon Nikkor lenses.
The lens is well assembled. Yongnuo 100/2 has a metal mount mount. The focus ring is rubberized. It is stated that the contacts of the microcircuits are gold-plated to improve the passage of current.
The diaphragm consists of 9 petals and form a hole in the shape of an irregular hexagon, while in the photographs in the blur zone, rather round discs of blur appear.
Among the drawbacks of the assembly, I want to highlight the following trifles:
- no hood and bag for transportation included
- the manual recommends using a Canon ET-65III lens hood, which in the original version is not so cheap. True, I'm sure Chinese counterparts not a bit worse.
- the inscription YN100mm F2 is not centered (there are lenses where done in the center)
- the edge of the scale is visible on the focus distance scale when the focus reaches 0.9 m (view)
- reliably is knownthat some YN100mm F2 lenses lose contact with the camera Canon EOS 5D Mark III
Focusing
The lens uses focus micro motor and is an analog of Canon MM (Micro Motor). Focus speed averagesignificantly lower than the original lens Canon Lens EF 100mm 1: 2 Ultrasonic. Auto Focus will work with any Canon EOS SLR camera. Auto focus a little noisy.
I worked with the lens on the camera Canon Digital Rebel T1i (aka Canon EOS 500D, aka Canon Kiss Digital X3) with very simple 9-point focusing system) Focusing low, lens often mistaken. Accuracy and tenacity practically does not depend on the use of a cross-shaped focus point or linear. With a camera Canon Digital Rebel T1i the number of photos with focus errors exceeded 50%.
Important: I met camera users with a more advanced focusing system with which the Yongnuo 100/2 behaves well. Therefore, with other cameras, the lens can behave much better. It is authentically known that the Yongnuo 100/2 focuses well on the camera Canon EOS 5D Mark II.
The focus ring is rubberized and rotates approximately 90 degrees in manual focus mode. When extreme positions are reached, the ring abuts. The focus distance scale rotates in the opposite direction of the focus ring rotation. Manual focus is quite convenient. During manual focusing, one can hear 'plastic rubbing against plastic', while the ring rotates smoothly and is quite pleasant. Direction of rotation of the focus ring opposite to the original lens Canon Lens EF 100mm 1: 2 Ultrasonic.
There is a 'AF-MF' (auto focus / manual focus) mode switch on the lens body. Switch positions are swapped compared to the original Canon Lens EF 100mm 1: 2 Ultrasonic ('AF-MF' <-> 'MF-AF'). During autofocus, the focus ring remains stationary and can be freely rotated 360 degrees without affecting focus.
Lens has internal focus, the front and rear lenses remain stationary during focusing. It is possible to use various filters without any problems.
The closest focusing distance is only 90 cm, while the maximum magnification for macro photography is 1: 7.2 (weak).
Important: Yongnuo 100/2 - a lens from a third-party manufacturer. It may happen that it will not work correctly with some Canon cameras.
Focus Features:
- on the camera Canon Digital Rebel T1i (aka Canon EOS 500D, aka Canon Kiss Digital X3) this lens does not focus correctly, either focuses very, very long, or focuses inaccurately in Live View mode. I saw the same trouble with the camera Canon EOS DIGITAL 450D (aka Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL XSi, aka Canon EOS Kiss X2) and lens Yongnuo Lens EF 50mm 1: 1.8 (Model YN50mm F1.8).
- the lens sometimes continues to focus (drives the lens all the way, i.e., to the MDF or to infinity) after the focus activation button has been depressed (usually by half-pressing the shutter button). This happens if the lens is not focused accurately enough (the lens somehow continues to focus when the focus button has already been released). Not everyone will notice this feature and it does not particularly interfere with comfortable work with the lens.
- the lens has a window with a focus distance scale in meters and feet, the scale is very meager and has values only for 0.9, 1.2, 2, 5 meters and an infinity mark.
- Yongnuo 100 / 2 does not have a hard stop (hard infinity mechanical stop) which allows you to accurately and quickly focus the lens to infinity under any external temperature conditions. For accurate aiming at infinity, you cannot just bring the focus ring to its extreme position.
- Focus shift (shift-focus) is missing.
- Compatibility with converters is unknown. Most likely, there should not be any problems.
- The lens is present strong 'Focus Breathing' effect (changing the viewing angle during focusing), while focusing toward the MDF, the viewing angle decreases.
In general, autofocus is the weak point of this lens.
Image quality
Overall, the lens performed 'below average' results.
In terms of sharpness, the lens is quite weak at F / 2.0 even in the center of the frame. True, nevertheless, for some photo tasks, sharpness on F / 2.0 will be acceptable (portrait shooting and publication of pictures on social networks with downsize). A significant increase in sharpness occurs at F / 2.5, at F / 2.8 in the center of the frame there are no complaints about the lens. Better sharpness is obtained at aperture values of F / 5.6-F / 8.0.
On F / 2.0 there are quite noticeable chromatic aberration. The vignetting on the APS-C cameras is almost imperceptible. Also, distortion is low.
Yongnuo 100/2 is considered a portrait lens, for which the transfer of the out-of-focus area is important - the bokeh of the lens is neutral, unremarkable, and quite pleasant. With a 100mm focal length to f / 2.0 ratio, you can easily control depth of field and blur the far / foreground.
Real indicators of aperture (T-feet) are quite large, and are within the framework of T / 2.2-T / 2.5. Happy for normal exposure I used the maximum capabilities of the camera with ISO 100, 1/4000 s, and I had to close the aperture to F / 2.5.

The main differences between the Yongnuo 100/2 and the Canon EF 100/2 USM
- Canon EF 100 / 2 USM was introduced in October 1991. Yongnuo 100/2 was introduced 25 years later (!) - November 31, 2016.
- Canon EF 100 / 2 USM has a tag for work in the infrared spectrum. Yongnuo 100/2 does not have such a label.
- Canon EF 100 / 2 USM has constant manual focus control. To perform manual on Yongnuo 100/2, be sure to turn on focus mode 'MF'
- Canon EF 100 / 2 USM Uses Canon Ultraconic (USM) ultrasonic focusing motor. Yongnuo 100/2 uses a conventional micro focusing motor.
- Canon EF 100 / 2 USM 70 grams heavier than Yongnuo 100/2.
- Canon EF 100 / 2 USM It has 8 aperture blades. Yongnuo 100/2 has 1 more aperture blades.
- Yongnuo 100/2 and Canon EF 100 / 2 USM the direction of rotation of the focus ring differs.
- У Canon EF 100 / 2 USM the direction of rotation of the focus ring coincides with the direction of rotation of the distance scale. At Yongnuo 100/2, these directions do not coincide.
- Yongnuo 100/2 costs 3 times cheaper Canon EF 100 / 2 USM (160$ против 500$ for new lenses)
- Data on the Yongnuo 100/2 is not in the memory of modern Canon EOS cameras, which prevents some types of distortion from being automatically corrected (distortion, vignetting etc.)
- Canon EF 100 / 2 USM works more stably with all Canon EOS cameras. The Yongnuo 100/2 has trouble focusing on some Canon EOS cameras.
- The Canon ET-65III lens hood cannot be installed on the Yongnuo 100/2 in transport mode, since the Yongnuo 100/2 is slightly thicker Canon EF 100 / 2 USM
My experience
A 100/2 class lens is already a fairly serious technique, it would be great if the Yongnuo YN 100mm f / 2 functioned no worse than the original Canon EF 100 / 2 USM. But so far, no miracle has happened.
The lens could be forgiven for one shortcoming, but two shortcomings at once: poor focusing and poor image quality at F / 2.0 - it is much more difficult to forgive. Of the advantages of the Yongnuo YN 100mm f / 2, I can only highlight the low cost and the halo of the almost legendary Canon EF 100 / 2 USM.
100 mm focal length with huge aperture F / 2.0 could do wonders. Perhaps I didn’t have the most successful copy of the Yongnuo YN 100mm f / 2 on my review.
Version Yongnuo YN 100mm f / 2 for Nikon devoid of serious focusing problems, but has other problems with exposure.

Results
All in all, Yongnuo 100/2 on camera Canon 500D turned out to be enough is weakprimarily due to poor auto focus and poor sharpness on F / 2.0. At the same time, in conclusion, I want to note the fact that with more modern cameras that use more advanced phase focusing systems, the Yongnuo 100/2 can behave well. Most likely, the Yongnuo 100/2 firmware works correctly only with some cameras, the exact list of which is unknown. I met similar focusing system behavior with the lens Yongnuo Lens EF 50mm 1: 1.8 (YN50mm F1.8) which on Canon 5Dsr worked perfectly, but on Canon 450D/40D/30D had similar problems. For many photo tasks, F / 2.0 is not always needed, but on F / 2.8 it is a very good lens with normal optical performance.
Advantages
- low cost
- internal focusing (front and rear lenses always remain stationary)
- quite convenient manual focus
- presence of a window with a scale of focusing distances and the depth of field scale
- good build quality: metal mount, rubberized focus ring, compact size
- nine-petal diaphragmsufficiently round discs of blur in the range of F / 2-F / 8
- no focus shift
- confident sharpness starting at f / 2.8 in the center of the frame
- neutral color reproduction, good contrast, predictable back and side light
- moderate level of distortion, low vignetting on Canon EOS cameras with APS-C sensor (crop)
- nice / neutral pattern
Disadvantages
- low focus speed
- frequent focusing errors and poor focus tenacity (most likely only with some cameras)
- serious focus problems in live view with some cameras
- slight noise from the focus motor
- lack of constant manual focus control
- focus ring and distance scale have different directions of rotation (psychological discomfort)
- direction of rotation of the focus ring opposite to the original lens Canon Lens EF 100mm 1: 2 Ultrasonic.
- direction of the 'AF / MF' switch is opposite to the original Canon Lens EF 100mm 1: 2 Ultrasonic
- lack of a hood in a delivery set
- strong 'Focus Breathing' effect (changes in viewing angle during focusing)
- the survivability of this lens and the spread in quality are unknown
- there may be incompatibility with some cameras and / or teleconverters (for example, the lens will not work correctly with Dual Pixel technology)
- lack of data about the lens in modern cameras, which makes it difficult to automatically correct some types of distortion (distortion, vignetting etc.)
- poor image quality, primarily low sharpness at F / 2.0, noticeable chromatic aberration

Material prepared Arkady Shapoval. Training/Consultations | Youtube | Facebook | Instagram | Twitter | Telegram
And to hell with it, with low sharpness in the open. And I wouldn’t give a damn about HA for 2.0, for that kind of money one could tolerate. But semi-working autofocus puts a bold cross on the lens right away.
Respect for the video review!
After reading the review, I got a double impression of the lens. Let's hope that in the version for Nikon, there will be no jambs with autofocus ... but I can't believe it.
I wonder how the lens firmware can affect the quality of focus? The lens is just an actuator (motor and lenses), which is controlled by the camera. Discriminators are focus sensors. Probably the optical characteristics of the lens (in this case, it turns out, low) are sufficient for the normal operation of some sensors and insufficient for others.
All other things being equal, except for the camera, of course
The transmission protocol is not original, so how it works out the action of the MI and what is transmitted back to the camera is unknown. The firmware itself affects the operation of the lens
The system is the same, the protocol is most likely the same ... the only difference is in the cameras. Most likely, the sensitivity of the sensors is still. Although the devil knows in fact ...
anything can be here. up to the fact that the lens must have time to work out commands from the camera for a certain time. did not have time - focusing is over :)
but these are all the problems of the developers from Youngnuo
Normal factory China is actually not cheaper than Western or Japanese brands. Not so long ago I chose a generator for my home…. only now we have little of it precisely because of the cost - they carry crafts (with one letter d) that peoples are able to buy ...
people - written without the letter s at the end.
maybe people were meant)
but no difference))
Elementary. As the lens was flashed, it will work, for example, look at Sigma / Tamron lenses from an additional station for updating firmware.
Ingenious! :)
I liked the photo in full frame, nothing special on the crop
Full-frame processing, that's all :(
Well, it’s not entirely true that the full depth of field is smaller, hence the very volume appears. All the same, the portrait is better revealed in full frame. I liked the lens, sharpness is not always needed for portraiture, but it’s sad to hear about autofocus
The full frame due to the larger pixel size is less demanding on the resolution of the lens. That's all.
The fact is that to accommodate the same plot on the crop, as in the full frame you need to increase the distance to the subject, and increasing the distance you increase the depth of field
I did not write to you. DOF of course on Crop more. But there are more requirements for the resolution of the lens. The review of 35mm yagis also clearly shows that the sharpness on the FF is higher, as here.
a full frame is less demanding in the center, but vice versa along the edges
and yet 100mm is too narrow for the crop, but for the full frame the most
Judging by the pictures, he has enough portrait sharpness in the open; Dermatological is not needed at all. Chromaticity is also at an acceptable level.
In real conditions, even a good lens. Especially for my money.
On Nikon for this amount you can buy manual 105 / 2.5, which is subjectively better.
PS. And where is that smiling girl from previous photo shoots? :)
It is a pity that the lens failed. At such a price, he would drop the prices on the secondary for junk and a bright future would come)))
Those users who have no problems with af think so.
And why did he fail? an autofocus high-aperture portrait lens for a duvet of eternal wood - is that bad? not everyone can pay 20-30k for a "native" analogue. And with the correct dislocation of the upper limbs, you can get very good pictures on it.
Judging by the review - by the same autofocus. It turns out that with such an AF operation it is easier to buy a manual one with better optical characteristics for the same money. A high-aperture portrait camera with AF for a gold piece would be very good.
At approximately the same price as their 85mm
which is better to take?
85 of course, you can add soaps in the editor, but you cannot return the lost sharpness
Yes, and the focus is more convenient, especially on the crop
Hmm ... Frankenstein cast in plastic! ..)))
Arkady, you read my mind. Just yesterday I thought about this lens, that it would be nice to take it apart in a joyful way, today I go in and it is here) Thanks.
Arkady, what music do you have in the video review ?, write please))
I, too, at one time fell for the price of these funny rogues - the Yong 35-ka on the 700-ke is just as unreliable in focusing, and in general, not very interesting.
As for the Jong 100, when it gets into focus with sharpness at f2 everything seemed to be very good there. At least on the EOS 1D Mk2N. Although there that vaunted single autofocus I did not notice something, so I sinned both on the camera and on the lens, which is why both were shamelessly sold. For reference, we were stupid on one and 85, and 50, which is 1,8, which is 1,4 ...
But, despite all the above, the 100 they turned out to be very good, at least she has her own “character”, but the autofocus errors ... this is the very drawback that it was often extremely difficult for me to forgive her.
This is a kind of user observation, I would try the version for Nikon, despite everything. The lens is noteworthy, it is relatively cheap, the design is good, and the image in it is not as plastic as in the same 35-ke.
No one is aware, yongnuo do not plan to release 18mm versions (or so)?
I rushed into the review with a fright, I thought I had already left Nikon))
in my opinion, even 85 hasn’t reached
Sad I have a tamron of 18-200 per 100 mm gives a picture no worse. And there is still good lighting everywhere.
Do you have 18-200 f / 2?
Or do you compare the picture with 100mm f / 2 and 100mm f / 5.6?
If so, then compare the image with 100mm f / 2 ISO 100 and 100mm f / 5.6 ISO 800, and even better with 100mm f / 2 ISO 200 and 100mm f / 8 ISO 1600.
I have 18-200 3,5-6,3 per 100 aperture 4 with a slight bokeh, sharpness is much higher, in the back, of course, aberrations appear, it’s not visible here, most likely the yaga wins at least in this, in general it’s clear that any zoom should be weaker than the fix, but immediately incomparably simple
I think it's better to take Nikon / Kenon, battered by life, for the same money for the sake of more accurate autofocus, better assembly and sharpness
Show me where to get the original 100mm glass for 10-11k rub?
I open Avito, and I see a battered life of 100 f / 2 for 25k rubles
Well, can you attach an example of your photos at 100mm at your zoom?
Nikon AF Nikkor 85 mm f / 1.8 D Average price: 13574 rub
Canon EF 85 mm f / 1.8 USM Average price: 14366 rub
Tokina AF AT-X PRO 100 mm f / 2.8 D Macro M100 Average price: 14200 XNUMX rub
I am sure that all three of them will show better. The average price is in good condition, if monitored, it is quite possible to wait for 11 thousand, if it is critical.
Why are my photos, if everything is here and on the zoom as well.
those. 100mm for 10k is new and 85mm for 15k (on Avito by MSC the lowest price for Canon 85mm 1.8 comes from 15k, not the average 14,5.
I think that the average in this case will already be 16-17k) is this almost the same?)
and it will not be possible to find the original canon for 11 thousand.
because for 10-11 they sell 85mm from the same young, or manual 85 1.4 samyang, but not like canon
who buys on Avito, there is only to sell, and then in large cities
Alas, she is not average. Or the average was about 3 years ago. For 10 he would have bought 85 1.8, but he has an average of 18-19, and starts at 15
Share then where to buy on the secondary?
I’m all looking at Avito / photo ru / local photo forum.
I don’t take it, the same tamron is 18-200 for 5000, and it was difficult to wait, but I could not wait to try the D70, now I bought 2,8 80-200 Tokin for 6300
at the lens club there is some flea market where I wrote these average prices
Prices at the same lez club in the flea market and in the lens description differ by a factor of 1.5-2. Why is that? This is another question, but 85 1.8 is still at least 15-16 ty
There, in half of the cards, the average price is from the bulldozer, in the other half - with "old money". In general, it is somehow connected with sales on their market. The result is fierce game.
Secondary 85 1.8 even if you buy for 15 tyr, that is, $ 250, in a couple of years it will cost the same 250. Well, 200, if you loosen and scratch the case. And yaga for $ 150, even if it does not break, will cost $ 100 on the strength in a few years, and most likely more than 75 you can’t sell it. That's all the math -
antiques made of metal and glass in value can most likely only add. Considering that YN is a Chinese plastic lens from a third-party manufacturer, often overshot and slow (thanks to Arkady for a separate review), it is absolutely not suitable for commercial shooting, which means it will never be beaten off.
You can try it with friends, or here the reviews are good)))
Buying old lenses, I still keep in mind that it’s not just pointless spending money from the family budget, but investing in antiques: D
Since 2012, roughly old things have only been getting more expensive, despite the release of more and more new autofocus and stabilized versions, and there used to be a time ... My friend, 7 years ago, bought Mir-1 from a junk dealer in the market for 100 rubles, Cyclops 100/2 for 200 - true only today I told him that it was a Cyclops, and not some unknown crap from a Soviet device.
Here, by the way, on September 1, my son on the line finally checked out a token of 2,8 80-200 - I think that he’s beating the yaga in all respects except for bulky ones.
And prices. 400 euros for ibey - 27,5k rubles for used
which is more than twice as large as the yongnou 100mm
I took on a bag for 6300 rubles with a mold after gluing in the native case and with native covers
in the best condition there is lying on the bag for 10 sput now, autofocus, however, a screwdriver, if it is important (and weight 1,5 kg) - but everyone takes it for an accredited photographer, you go wherever you want)))
And, by the way, then one must compare not with the zoom, but with the Tokina AT-X Af 100 mm Macro F / 2.8, about which Arkady spoke very warmly - $ 180 free shipping from Japan. Twice darker, but now I'm generally in love with tokinu - metal and glass rule. 35 is a successful version, but no weaving. Although it is very important to wait for Nikon's, and it will be 30 bucks more expensive ...
why then how little did they round it?
not for 10, but for 12,5, this is first.
I wrote prices for Ibei for the version of Canon, Nikon did not look at all.
Well, of course, Camille lives in his fictional world, where a 27,5k zoom can be bought on a bag for 6k, and a 100mm 2.8 Tokin for $ 180 for Ibei. only there are no such prices. One single lot with such a price FOR THIS moment does not mean anything, because there are FIVE DAYS before the end of the auction, and all other lots not less than 300 euros!
Everyone understands that you do not like this young man, but for 10k there is no alternative to him for the money.

Nikon versions are usually more expensive. The same Mukhov has a Canon EF Sigma 70-210 1: 2.8 APO lying around, when he gets tired of it, he will auction it for 12, just a little patience is needed. I’ve been monitoring the same Tokin for six months.
This is Tokina's first samples.
This is strange, Arkady points out that Tamron has 18-200 by 5,6 in the range 75-135, or so. Perhaps different versions of the lens with different schemes.
Well, if you cover the yagu to 4-5,6, it will be clearly sharper than the open tamron.
About a tattered native lens instead of a new Chinese - it's pretty damn good, I agree.
yes, 5,6 and the bokeh is similar - neutral
in theory, autofocus on a deuce should miss a lot less, but it’s like
Why is it he should miss the F2 less, if there is a small depth of field
the lighter the better it gets. 6,3 Tamron is often confused, for example
In general, AF sensors usually optimize for 2.8, on the other apertures there will be an error
Even native high-aperture optics often have a front-back focus and do not fall into a narrow strip of flu, there is nothing to say about third-party manufacturers. Opinion the faster the more accurate the autofocus is wrong. Your Tamron is mistaken because of a lack of light, and high-aperture optics are mistaken because of the narrowness of the flu.
If you need a stunning picture, then 100mm f2 is not cooler than the manual Zh-25.
And what is he, interestingly, “cool”, except for weight, chromaticity, green color and inflated cost?
The bokeh and the volume of the picture, my friend, the bokeh and the volume of the picture. Zeiss are also chromated. The demand is great, and the offer is negligible, that's the reason for the inflated cost….
According to the photo examples - nothing unusual, there are no penny differences from PO501-1. Some vintage show-offs.
And Zeiss chromatate, yes. But all the same, from a Zeiss like Pancolar 80 1.8 there will be much more sense than from the “bottle” ancient filmmaker, worn out by time.
Make a review and publish if you want to show the true capabilities of the lens, and not increase its popularity on the secondary, as it once was with the G-40. And we know where these G-40s are now)
I also know where “these G-40s” are. They delight themselves with the photographers who have them. They are angry with the majority of the rest who do not have them. Also about the F-25…. for you the price, take it, you will not regret it. This bottle will pleasantly surprise you.
I have a sufficient number of lenses, significantly more expensive than the G-40. And there is no this very G-40. So there is no logic with possession or absence.
If this Zh-25 costs 5-7 thousand, it would still be interesting. And so it turns out that it is cheaper to adapt the projector, but the result is better.
How can you say that a projector is more interesting if you have not removed either one or the other and it is easier to adapt it if you have not done so. To draw conclusions, drawing information from the garbage and not trying something on the tooth, is extremely reckless. Here zengarden at least tried G -40 and he didn't like him. He can boldly open his mouth. And you …… .. The funniest thing is, “If this Zh-25 cost 5-7 thousand, it would be interesting”)
Are you serious to me?) Do not adapt? Didn't shoot?
)))
The price for which starts at 30 on Avito)))
And I liked the photos. Photos from the wedding are simply gorgeous. For this money, you can hardly find something better than autofocus, and also new. There are simply no options. But there is no trial. You just have to wait for the Chinese to finish it) They would still make cropped options.
The Nikon version comes out later and usually performs better than the Canon version.
It so happened that for Nikon lenses from Yongnuo occupy special niches, where there are almost no competitors for them. Fifty - the cheapest motorized one in quality no worse than 50mm 1,8D - a hit for non-motorized cameras. The hero of the recent review of YN35 - there are simply no close analogues at the price of a full frame, for a 35mm crop, 1,8G is better, but 2-3 times more expensive. Native high-aperture 85s, hundred parts and 105s are generally expensive for Nikon, so if there is a modified version of this lens - a must have. And I was also very interested in the 40mm pancake, because for Nikon, again, unlike Canon, there is no budget autofocus motorized pancake with acceptable quality and is not close.
In addition, a 40mm pancake promises to be with a USB port for updating the firmware
And where can I read about the potential release of 40 matches?
I have here in the review in the section about all lenses there is a link to of. site.
When I was shooting on Kenon, I had Kenonovskie and 85 1.8 (even 2 pcs) and 100 2.0, so 85ki and the sharpness of the open and the accuracy of hitting a head above a hundred. Canon 1D m2 and 1D m3 cameras. Mauger was not lucky with the specimen, but the sediment remained.
Like 85mm later a year later. Perhaps some focusing errors could finish.
How can a normal lens be tested on such an old carcass as the EOS 500?
If Mark 2 already has all the buzzes, they could have taken a normal carcass.
Where exactly is it old?
15 megapixels are few and many. It's just that there is no exif for mark2 and 2 or 2.8, the diaphragm is not clear there, but at 2.8 and at 500d everything is fine, than the carcass didn’t please, or you think autofocus is tighter for later versions. This is not a lottery in the end, lucky no luck
The lens can be tested on any carcass for which this lens is intended. And if there is a difference with the original, then you will see it even on the old, even on the new carcass. The main thing is not a carcass, but an understanding of what is being tested and how it is being tested. Arkady, in this regard, does everything very competently.
He is right, a lot depends on the carcass. The same lens behaves very differently on different carcasses. This is especially evident on screwdriver lenses.
Firstly, YN makes lenses on a budget level, which directly indicates the audience that will mainly purchase them - these are amateurs for whom the ownership of the original lens is expensive. These people just own budget cameras. Pros, and even advanced amateurs who own more expensive cameras, will rather prefer the original, although some of them will also take YN as a minor one, for occasional use, etc. So testing with simple carcasses is very justified.
Secondly, in my opinion, the simpler the carcass, the more accurately you can estimate the pairing of the lens with the camera, since simple carcasses have limited possibilities for camera adjustments. And if the lens works correctly on a simple carcass, then there will be fewer problems with it on more complex and advanced problems. An exception is the development of optics of different matrix resolutions - here yes, tests on high-resolution carcasses are needed. But Arkady's tests are not bench tests with taking characteristics and drawing curves, but field tests, i.e. as close as possible to what we can see from the lens by placing it on our camera. You always supplement these tests with your pictures and experiments.
1) There was a Chinese cabinet of the 50th issue in our house, a wooden cabinet on wood glue assembled
He stood before his grandfather’s death in 2005 (the grandmother rocked that this is the first thing that they bought with their grandfather after the wedding and cannot see this wardrobe without tears, it needs to be broken and burned and it doesn’t cut and break and burns only with 60 liters 76 -th) The cool things were done by the Chinese seven decades ago
2) That lyric poetry and topic
There are a lot of manual Chinese zooms on Ali Express - 500 / 6,3 800-1300 / 8,3-16, etc., etc.
Question to Arkady and everyone who used, is it worth taking? I’m waiting for an answer (there is a lack of a nasal shift) I want a photo hunter in the autumn forest park
ARKADY THANKS YOU FOR YOUR SITE

Where did you find Chinese zooms for system cameras - can I have a link?
You can take a lens with Ali only if you know the brand and have looked at tests, photos, felt it from friends or from sellers in Russia. Otherwise, it's a pig in a poke, and the lens is more likely to be bad than good. After all, this is not a piece of paper that you can dazzle on your knee. To make a lens, you need to have very good suppliers and your own production, working with high-precision instruments.
650-1300
500mm
Such televisions for such ridiculous money?
Get fucked up. Now I saw everything))
I don't know what quality they really are. But I want to note the following: the maximum aperture of the 500 mm fix is F6.3, the 650-1300 zoom is F8.0. I don't know what kind of camera you have, but most budget cameras can focus at F5,6 or more open. Those. a green point when focusing manually may give an error. Perhaps this will not be a problem for you. But, in addition, on such closed apertures, in the absence of a jumper, it will be dark in the viewfinder and you will have to strain your eyes greatly when sighting and focusing. Finally, the last thing I saw was that the lenses come with a T2 adapter, and the T2 is not a replaceable shank, but just an adapter ring. There is a possibility that there will be no infinity on Nikon, i.e. the ring, at least, should be with a lens, which will further degrade the performance of this lens. But this is just my guess. I personally would not take it.
Surely this is something in quality similar to POLO d3000 A sharp shot of a Chinese devil (https://radojuva.com/2014/12/polo-d3000-chinese-devil/)
It is possible that just on this camera its potential will be revealed.
I would not risk it either.
Sigma 150-500 bu 350ue and you will be happy.

Tair-16 500 mm f / 4.5
MS Rubinar 500 mm f / 5.6
MTO-500 500 mm f / 8.0
Many times cheaper, lighter, no plastic. And no good. Instead of a telescope, if only so that the image is not upside down.
Aaaaaaaa no scrap metal again filled up!))) Weight up to 6 kg, frame format up to 9n9 ... Even 60 lines in the center on a sunny day from a tripod are not worth it. UzhOs !!!
Rubinar and MTO are fluffs.
well, if 4 kg is a feather, then yes!
What are 4 kilos? You are not able to find the mass of MTO-500? A rubinar 500 / 5.6 or 500/8 is even easier. There God forbid if there is a kilogram.
Chi, chi, chi! ”Rubinar and MTO are fluffs.”…. MTO has 1000-4kg.))
Oh wimps! :) A real male lens should weigh like a dumbbell!
Oh my God, I'm talking about 500 mm - what does the MTO-1000 have to do with it? How much should the MTO-1000 weigh, if not 4 kg, if this is a telescope already?
Cool lens. Thanks for the review, I think that on 7d mark 2 with focus everything will be all right, and the photo quality will be many times better than with an old woman 500d :)
And on what are such expectations based that everything will be all right on the 7D mark II with focus and the quality will be many times better than on the 500D?
It seems like weaving under Nikon came out already
http://www.yongnuochina.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=62
And on aliexpress appeared.
Something ugly in comparison with the version of Canon and smaller ...
it seems to me that it also looks like (another mount), on F22, the hole is the same as it seemed to me, or is it really a curve on all the copies (((we wait * from the first unpackings and reviews, after that we can take it. for FF.
Link
The same building. Even the lens hood comes from the Canon version (ET-65 III) and the diameter of the filter is identical.
Model in purple like ..)
Weaving under Nikon definitely came out and is sold in China for 140 USD.
Thanks. Updated information.
