I50U-3,5 / 50 (FOZ)

I did not find no significant differences between I50U-3,5 / 50 (logo ФОЗ) and I50U 3,5 / 50 (logo NPO 'Optics'). The lenses are only slightly different in case design.

Sample Photos

On camera Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi I used a lens with two adapters: M42-Canon EOS + M39-M42. Some photos were taken using macro ring M42 different thickness.

I50U-3,5 / 50 does not have a focusing ring. It is impossible to focus with this lens in the usual sense of the word. The lens is always focused at a certain distance. It is very convenient to focus by moving the camera towards or away from the subject. It is very convenient to use I50U-3,5 / 50 s macro rings different thicknesses, which allows you to change the focusing distance and magnification.

Use with modern cameras

Lenses with an M39 mounting thread (for enlargers, M39 X 1 / 28.8), such as the lens from this review, are very easy to use on modern cameras, just select correct adapter. On lens reflex cameras can only work in macro mode (shoot small objects with a short focusing distance). On mirrorless cameras, it will be possible to achieve focus on infinity. The cheapest adapters can be found aliexpress.com

For use on modern digital SLR cameras Canon EOS need M39-Canon EOS adapter, you can buy such an adapter (adapter) here. Also, an adapter M39-Canon EOS can be easily replaced with two adapters: M42-Canon EOS + M39-M42. In any case, the lens will always be focused at close distances.

An adapter is required for use on Nikon SLR cameras M39-Nikon F, you can buy such an adapter (adapter) without a lens and a chip here. Also, one adapter M39-Nikon F can be easily replaced with two adapters: M42-Nikon F + M39-M42. In any case, the lens will always be focused at close range.

For such a lens, I advise you to additionally buy macro rings with M42 thread, for example here.

How to use this lens with cameras of other systems (Pentax, Sony, Fujifilm, Olympus, Panasonic, Samsung, Sigma etc.) - ask in the comments and you will be prompted. If you have any questions on compatibility and adapters, ask in the comments (comments do not require any registration at all, any user can add a comment).

    A thousand and one nights and stopitsot I50U-3,5 / 50 :-D

  • KalekseyG

The industry of the USSR seems to have been focused on photo printing, not photography. Well, a lot of lenses like this.

    • Rodion

The industry was focused on the simplest and most massive, because there are many lenses like this.
They can be collected almost artisanally.

    • Diman

      Industry in the USSR was.

      • anonym

Taki yes! You can’t argue with that! Until now, we have been successfully using what the USSR gave us! And much VERY good!

  • sn797

Was the industry of the USSR focused on industry?

    • Reader

Right! Industar - Industry! In English, the lens is coolly called i-50y (ah 50 wai) :)

      • anonym

Industrial Star! INDUSTRIAL STAR (Star!) :-)

  • anonym

I really liked the quality of the pictures.

  • Ruslan

I understand that this is a rangefinder lens and for use on mirrorless cameras you need a short adapter and not a long one like on the m42. Or am I misunderstanding?

    • Artem

This is a zoom lens. He has no helicoid. And he does not need an adapter. And in general, nobody needs him. And it costs five times less than the cheapest adapter.

      • Arkady Shapoval

        1. In fact, play around - even a very interesting lens.
        2. The adapter costs about 1 cu, like the lens itself.
        3. Almost free macro lens, for example, these two photos (time и two) Got into Popular section on 500px, can a whale lens with 55 / 5,6 at the long end be able to do this? :)
        4. On the rangefinder, you can also shoot “infinity”, due to the absence of a helicoid - these are perversions, but what the hell is not kidding. How it is - shown in the example here.

        • Artem

Adapter m39-m42 one dollar? Well, yes ... What about the M42 system?
Of course, you can take it, not even lose, but rather indulge in ... But, in my opinion, it's better to 61 l / s for 20 bucks Duc from him and you can click a portrait and a landscape in principle ...

          • Arkady Shapoval

For example, the m42 system nikon 1.45 cu (link is in the review), м39-м42 - 64 cents (link is in the review). Also, we can assume that many users who “dabble in manuals” already have an adapter m42-system, or maybe even an m39-m42 in addition.
The question is, what is better to overpay 10 times for and 61 l / s - controversial.

            • Artem

Sorry, did not take into account Chinese industry? I agree they have cheaper adapters.

  • Reader

Comments are more than on the previous long review

  • Ruslan

They argued argued and what adapter is needed for the mirrorless camera and not the couplers :(

    • Arkady Shapoval

Nobody said what kind of mirrorless. Therefore, the answer is obvious - m39 is your mirrorless system. And in fact, I answered with the comment above:

“On the rangefinder, you can also shoot“ infinity ”, due to the absence of a helicoid - these are perversions, but what the hell is not kidding. How it is - shown in the example here. "

For macro, better M39-M42 + adapter M42 is your mirrorless, for a stronger macro you can additionally macro rings M42.

    • Rodion

      Eh, "mirrorless" and "couplers" ...
