Sample Photos

The lens is sharp enough in the center of the frame already at F / 1.7. At F / 2.8, sharpness increases markedly and becomes indistinguishable from 95% of other fifty dollars. In terms of sharpness - the lens is similar to many other fifty dollars. The weakest side of the lens is the backlight. KALIMAR 50 / 1.7 does not differ in special artistic properties.

Pictures in the gallery were obtained using Canon EOS Digital Rebel Xsi и PENTAX K - CANON EOS. On Canon EOS cameras it is very easy to use manual lenses with a Pentax K mount. Photo without processing, on-camera JPEG. Original photos can be downloaded at this link.

  • Alexey

I didn’t even know about this, but otherwise an ordinary manual fifty kopeck, many of them. Thank you for the review.

  • Snapdragon

The bokeh of this calimer, of course ... But sharp on the covered.

  • Victor

I heard about the Kalimaras before, but somehow I “parted in space” with him ... first there were Pentaxes, then Nikkors ...

  • Igor

It’s a good manual, but it doesn’t hold backlight because it is film-like, the rays do not fall in the film anyway, but in the second versions II and III ef all the details inside the lens glasses are made of non-glare burnished parts sharpened exactly to the number where the rays fall clearly at the right angle to the sensor. Although the legendary film film ef200mm f / 1.8L is good at it, but this is an exception.

    • Andrei

And what is wrong with the incidence of rays from this lens?
And why do you think that only black-sealed black details are inside?

      • Igor

I said that in the second version, the anti-glare design on the sensor, the rays should go at a certain right angle, this is physics, but the film is just the same.

        • Mark_KA

And how is physics for film different from physics for numbers? Is there some kind of special physics?

          • Arkady Shapoval

Matrix subpixels are covered with light-catching prisms (similar to droplets). These prisms are sensitive to the angle of incidence of light, from which, for example, colorless shift appears on mirrorless cameras when using non-retrofocus wide-angle lenses. In the film, the microparticles of the photographic substance are practically insensitive to the angle of incidence of the rays. For fifty dollars, the number or film is not critical.

            • Mark_KA

              Thank you :)

          • Igor

Read carefully how much you can about the same thing.

            • Mark_KA

What exactly needs to be read carefully?
What for the figure “rays fall clearly at the desired angle on the sensor”?
Do they fall onto the film somehow differently? Although they pass through the same lenses and are reflected (or not reflected) from the same internal walls?
Actually, I wanted to know what the difference is. Not the very fact of the difference (from your words), but why it is. The microlens on the matrix is an additional optical element. It's clear. But why is it more sensitive to parasitic rays? You know? So they would have written. Well, or the link was given where it is painted.
Is it hard to write? So don’t write. Just keep silent.

  • zengarden

And what kind of berries in 9 photos?

    • Andrei

      look like barberry

      • Alexey

Yes it is barberry, only it is some kind of pink.

        • Andrei

          beat the frost

  • Sergei

Somewhere on Wikipedia, I read that under the Kalimar brand, helios was exported, such as a contract assembly. The article is either about vivitar or about mountain salts.

  • kotofei

So how can you believe Radozhiva after that? Kalimar is a trader like Sears, Revuenon, etc.
    http://camera-wiki.org/wiki/Kalimar
Corresponding the glass in question is made by Cosina (which is sometimes even good), and is not at all Chinese in terms of the implied quality.

    • Arkady Shapoval

Like this... And the fact that this is Cosina still needs to be confirmed.

  • Oleg

    Hello!
Regarding information about Kalimar as a brand (let's call it that) I found this article: https://nukemall.livejournal.com/52390.html and somehow got confused. From what is described in it, it follows that Samyang did all the glass ... Or did the author write nonsense?
