This review shows the I50U-1 3,5 / 50 lens with serial number N6608 and the logo of the Lytkarino Optical Glass Plant, Lytkarino. Logos of different factories on Soviet lenses are cool and stylish! Almost all modern lenses lack this zest.
In short
I50U-1 3,5 / 50 (in the passport it is called Industar-50U-1) - a lens for Soviet photo enlargers. The lens does not have a focus ring, making it difficult to use as a photo lens. I50U-1 3,5 / 50 can be easily turned into a macro lens, which, in fact, is interesting. We can assume that I50U-1 3,5 / 50 is a logical continuation of its predecessor I50U 3,5 / 50, with increased resolution.
Main technical characteristics of I50U-1 3,5 / 50:

Sample Photos
On the mirrorless camera Sony a6300 (ILCE-6300) I used a lens with an adapter M39 - Sony NEX, which allowed you to take pictures with focus at infinity. If you slightly unscrew the lens from the adapter, you can shoot a close-up. For macro I used Sony a6300 (ILCE-6300) with adapter M42-Sony NEX + M39-M42 и macro rings M42 different thickness.
I50U-1 3,5 / 50 does not have a focusing ring. During intended use, focusing occurred by rotating the lens together with the focusing ring of the magnifier. After removing the lens from the enlarger, it is impossible to focus using this lens, in the usual sense of the word. The lens is always focused on a certain distance. Focusing is very convenient when moving the camera to or from the subject. FROM macro rings different thicknesses, you can vary the focusing distance and magnification.
Some photos were taken using flash Nikon Speedlight SB-900 (served as an arsonist of other flares), two cartridge flares Godox s45ttwo studio racks Falcon и light tube 40 * 40. I always shoot with flash at F / 11. To do this, I focus on the F / 3.5 value, with one movement of my hand I close the aperture to F / 11 (ring aperture it is simply brought to the extreme position, which eliminates the error of setting another number F) and press the shutter button. Flash settings I immediately configure to work with F / 11. Nikon Flash They work wonderfully with Sony cameras, which have a central sync contact on their hot shoe.
Photos are shown in the gallery without treatment, usual on-camera JPEG. Download source files in format JPEG can at this link.
Use with modern cameras
Lenses with an M39 mounting thread (for enlargers, M39 X 1 / 28.8), such as the lens from this review, are very easy to use on modern cameras, just select correct adapter. On lens reflex cameras can only work in macro mode (shoot small objects with a short focusing distance). On mirrorless cameras, it will be possible to achieve focus on infinity. The cheapest adapters can be found aliexpress.com.
For use on modern digital SLR cameras Canon EOS need M39-Canon EOS adapter, you can buy such an adapter (adapter) here. Also, an adapter M39-Canon EOS can be easily replaced with two adapters: M42-Canon EOS + M39-M42. In any case, the lens will always be focused at close distances.
An adapter is required for use on Nikon SLR cameras M39-Nikon F, you can buy such an adapter (adapter) without a lens and a chip here. Also, one adapter M39-Nikon F can be easily replaced with two adapters: M42-Nikon F + M39-M42. In any case, the lens will always be focused at close range.
For such a lens, I advise you to additionally buy macro rings with M42 thread, for example here.
How to use this lens with cameras of other systems (Pentax, Sony, Fujifilm, Olympus, Panasonic, Samsung, Sigma etc.) - ask in the comments and you will be prompted. If you have any questions on compatibility and adapters, ask in the comments (comments do not require any registration at all, any user can add a comment).

Thank you for attention. Arkady Shapoval.
It can be seen that in the off-season there was a lot of free time for Arkady :) hard times happen for everyone, but you stay there, collect money for new equipment; and we will help as we can, just hint ...
There is not much time, but there are a bunch of industries :)
And will Sonya have a review?
Yes, it will be small soon.
Thanks for the review)

Why namikat? At the end of each review, in large print, write the number of the private bank card, such as help for the development of the site - who does not mind how much, and so on. After all, everyone here is grazing on information about photographic equipment.
Any norms. the person will thank than he can. Then the interest in the reviews of photographic equipment from the owner of the site will manifest itself.
for growing family $ 5.00 per week)))
Thank you) nice) me and the site have already been helped) now I will get out myself :) the best help is to share a link to Radozhiva :)
All such reviews are interesting, but I don’t understand one thing, why use lenses from magnifiers?
Exactly, well, you give them - from a microscope!
... inquisitiveness of the mind - so you can say, to show that glass works! ... and we periodically appear here for a reason :)
For fun, I screwed an 1x lens from UShM-8. It is quite normal, but the depth of field is not enough)
Great resolution. The coolest Gelik on paper shakes 50-60 l / mm, but such Hindus can squeeze 60-70 l / mm on pieces of paper.
But in any 44-2, chromaticity is normally corrected and in closed ones it works more miracles than Industars. Not just because there are 6 lenses, not 4.
Dear Rodion, the question is that in Helios 44-2, chromatic aberration is not completely corrected, since it is a softly working portrait lens, and Industar 50 is hard-working because it has more corrected chrome. I had to work a lot with them before
What for? What is the sense, excuse me, of such experiments?
Why bother with lenses and the photographic images they produce? There is a telephone, he takes pictures himself ...: -) (People who are not indifferent to photography and everything around it gather here. Then we are interested - WHAT IS INTERESTING IN ALL THIS! Very much!) And Arkady - RESPECT AND RESPECT! You are going the right way, comrade! Arkady, in not such a long time, won a huge audience with his work! Many are grateful and grateful to Arkady's inquisitiveness and meticulousness. In a word, Arkady is a YOUNGER! :-) If only I would not be arrogant ... :-)
Tell me, what is the difference between this I96U-3.5 / 50 lens (in general, I50U from I96U)?
Interestingly, No. 6608 is unique or is it the same on all lenses?
I just have the same lens with the same number with Avito :)
Drosophila fruit. Pentax K10D, macro fur, I50U-1.
Hello, tell me please. Nikon D5000, there is an m42 adapter, it is big for him. Yes, and the carcass swears, the lens does not see. How to be?
M mode on.
And to M42 you need another ring M39-M42
THANK YOU VERY MUCH
I have exactly the same one, from the UPA-5 photo enlarger...
i50u-1 number 6606.
By the way, it would be nice if the adapters had the ability to sharpen when working with magnifying lenses. In photo enlargers, focusing requires a large glass stroke (20-30 mm). Therefore, the design of the enlarger is such that focusing is carried out by moving the lens itself up and down. In cameras, the travel range of the glass is much smaller and therefore sharpness is induced by the lens itself.
The other day I was visiting a classmate and he asked me to find him a Zenit lens for a homemade microscope for repairing electronic circuit boards. In the YouTube video that he showed me, Helios-44 was used. I feel sorry for one like this for a microscope. I'm thinking of finding him an I50. It’s cheaper, you sharpen it once and you can use it
I found a way to make something closer to infinity for the Nikon working distance.
I took the front fix and untwisted it. rings and swapped the front and rear lenses, the MIDDLE STAYED IN THE MIDDLE.
(The only thing is that you need to turn them correctly (taking into account the middle one) to face outward or vice versa).
But, this is 10 minutes if desired. time.
The result pleased me.
