How to use with modern cameras?

Lenses with mounting thread M42 (M42 X 1 / 45.5), such as the lens from this review, are very easy to use on almost any modern digital camera (both SLR and mirrorless), for this it is enough to choose the right adapter (adapter). You do not need to carry out any additional steps to modify the lens.

The cheapest adapters can be found at Aliexpress.com... There are adapters (adapters) with a chip that provide more convenience during shooting, usually chips are used to confirm focus and / or metering exposure, and form the correct EXIF. The chip does not affect the image quality in any way.

For some SLR cameras (for example, with the Nikon F-mount), you need to use adapters with a corrective lens, which allows you to focus correctly at all focusing distances. For any mirrorless cameras, such a lens is not needed, and the adapter is a simple decorated hollow metal tube with an appropriate mount.

For SLR cameras

They were created not for full-size film cameras, but for narrow-format film cameras, that is, with a frame of 24x36 mm or using 135 film in general. The term "full-frame camera" can be mistaken for "format", that is, it uses film with a frame size of 9x12, 18x24 and others like them, including cameras with sliders that allow you to tilt the lens relative to the plane of the sensing element and control the plane of field, as and outlook in general.
    Here, as I understand it, I mean the full, without crop format of a digital camera - the same 24x36 mm with an indication of the relative focal length when installed on cameras with a crop including. A lens for film cameras was simply created, and the author did not go into the terminology in order to avoid confusion, since the target audience of the site, as far as I understand, is mainly the owners of digital cameras.

Of course, it will lose to the eight-lens in all respects, but (IMHO), the Geliki of the 44XX type is no match for it in terms of convenience, focusing accuracy, not to mention reliability. To be fair, I will note that “44-3” is a special topic, but unfortunately, it is not a “long-liver” - the vicious design of the diaphragm will manifest itself very quickly! Takumaras, in my opinion, are just good, very reliable “staffs” of the fix era. It is simply unethical to compare them with the “planars”, expensive “Yashinons”, “Fujinons”, “!, 2 - Tomioka”, not to mention the exotic “Topcon” “animals”! Even the “ordinary” “Pancolar”, not even multi-enlightened, will easily “tear apart” any “taku” of a similar luminosity (both porst, and Sears, and Revunon, and Chinon - Cosinon, etc., by the way, too). But, I think that the main rule for choosing a staff, is still the ancient aphorism: "If you want the quality of the" summilux "- buy" summilux ", and do not be guilty, you will not win, well, in extreme cases, the" planar "of the last 2 modifications!
