YONGNUO LENS EF 50mm 1: 1.8

In short

YONGNUO LENS EF 50mm 1: 1.8 is very simple - a cheap copy of the original lens Canon Lens EF 50mm 1: 1.8 II... In this case, 'cheap' does not mean 'bad'. It just so happens that YONGNUO LENS EF 50mm 1: 1.8 is the cheapest autofocus modern 50mm lens for SLR cameras. Also, YONGNUO LENS EF 1mm 1.8: XNUMX is cheapest fix with auto focus among all modern lenses. Apparently, the YONGNUO company decided to implement a plan according to which every photographer should have a fifty-fifty lens.

Originally released for Canon EOS cameras only - YONGNUO Ø52mm LENS EF 50mm 1: 1.8... After a while, a version for Nikon cameras appeared - YONGNUO Ø58mm YN50mm F1.8 (N).

It's important: YONGNUO lenses for Nikon and Canon have a completely different body design. YONGNUO Ø52mm LENS EF 50mm 1: 1.8 (for Canon cameras) copy design Canon Lens EF 50mm 1: 1.8 II, YONGNUO Ø58mm YN50mm F1.8N (for Nikon cameras) copy design Nikon AF-S Nikkor 50mm 1: 1.8G SWM Aspherical.

YONGNUO LENS EF 50mm 1: 1.8 - performs all its basic functions - it focuses itself, controls the diaphragm and does not crumble in the hands, you should not expect more from a fifty-kopeck piece.

The creative and practical potential of such a fifty dollars is difficult to overestimate. It is suitable for a wide range of photo tasks. Photo enthusiasts often use it as a portrait lens. Many just want a fast light fix, in addition to its whale lens. So, diaphragm F / 1.8 more than three feet wider aperture F / 5.6, which is used in 'dark' kit lenses at the long end. In numerical terms, this means that YONGNUO LENS EF 50mm 1: 1.8 is approximately 10 times brighterthan, for example, whale Canon EF-S 18-55 / 3.5-5.6 IS STMwhich uses a maximum relative aperture of only 50: 1 over a 5.6 mm focal length. The calculation of the difference in the relative aperture (count the aperture) is performed elementarily: 5.6 * 5.6: 1.8: 1.8 = 9.679, which is rounded to the value '10'.

YONGNUO LENS EF 50mm 1: 1.8 not only externally copies Canon Lens EF 50mm 1: 1.8 IILenses also use very similar optical designs. Of course, an optical circuit such as a Gaussian double lens is very common, but still the drawings of the schemes are as if drawn under a carbon copy.

Optical design YONGNUO LENS EF 50mm 1: 1.8 compared to Canon Lens EF 50mm 1: 1.8 II.

Incidentally, Nikon 50mm 1: 1.8D AF Nikkor also made according to the double Gaussian lens scheme, and its optical scheme is also very much like optical schemes Canon Lens EF 50mm 1: 1.8 II and YONGNUO LENS EF 50mm 1: 1.8

YONGNUO LENS EF 50mm 1: 1.8

YONGNUO LENS EF 50mm 1: 1.8

Assembly

For my review, YONGNUO LENS EF 50mm 1: 1.8 came almost new, in a boxed set. What the sample from this review did not have was a protective film on the front and rear lenses that originally came with the lens. A small box contains a warranty card, instructions in Chinese and English, and the lens itself with front and back covers. The box is made in the colors typical of Nikon Nikkor golden boxes.

Please note that YONGNUO LENS EF 50mm 1: 1.8 is not supplied with a hood, and there is no mention of the possibility of using a hood in the instructions for the lens. Most likely, it will be possible to use any lens hood with the lens, which is installed in the thread of the front filter. Front lens deeply recessed in the mandrel of the body, which serves as a kind of built-in hood and helps the lens to work properly in side and back light.

To the touch, the lens is made of cheap plasticwhich made the lens very light. Unfortunately, the mount of the mount is also plastic. YONGNUO LENS EF 50mm 1: 1.8 weighs just 120 grams... As a result, it is one of the lightest autofocus lenses in the world. It is even possible that this lightest autofocus lens for full-length SLR cameras.

The diameter of the front filter has a very popular size and is 52 mm.

But not everything is so bad, the focus ring is rubberized. Even the original Canon Lens EF 50mm 1: 1.8 II could not afford such luxury. Nevertheless, before YONGNUO LENS EF 50mm 1: 1.8 I had an old man on the review Nippon Kogaku Japan Nikkor-S Auto 1: 2 f = 5cm, which is made about a million times better than the modern 'Chinese'.

Unfortunately, the YONGNUO LENS EF 50mm 1: 1.8 does not have useful focus distance marks, depth of field scales, or tags for working in the infrared spectrum. There is only one single red dot for connecting the lens to the camera.

Important: There are 3 subversions of this lens (possibly more) with different spellings of the name near the front lens:

  1. 'YN50mm F1.8 YONGNUO Ø52mm'
  2. 'YONGNUO LENS EF 50mm 1: 1.8 YONGNUO Ø52mm'
  3. 'YONGNUO LENS EF 50mm 1: 1.8 YONGNUO INC. Ø52mm '

Important: I shot more than 20.000 frames (twenty thousand frames) without any problems on this lens and I had no problems with its functioning. But, repair masters claim that they are often accessed with breakdowns of this lens and it is quite difficult to repair them.

YONGNUO LENS EF 50mm 1: 1.8

YONGNUO LENS EF 50mm 1: 1.8

Focusing

The lens uses focus micro motor and is an analog of Canon MM (Micro Motor). Auto Focus will work with any Canon EOS SLR camera.

Auto focus quite noisy. Noise level can be heard in my video review YONGNUO LENS EF 50mm 1: 1.8. Focusing speed is average (closer to high), significantly lower than the original lens Canon Lens EF 50mm 1: 1.8 II.

I worked with the lens on the camera Canon EOS 5DSRwhich uses very advanced focusing system. FROM Canon EOS 5DSR I had no problems at all with accuracy, tenacity and focusing speed. Also, Canon EOS 5DSR focused without problems using YONGNUO LENS EF 50mm 1: 1.8 in Live View mode.

The lens has an AF \ MF focus mode switch. Be sure to switch it to the MF position during manual focus. If this is not done, then the auto focus mechanism may be damaged. In AF mode, the focus ring is not locked, but continues to rotate due to the power of the micro motor, while it cannot be touched.

In manual focus mode, the focus ring rotates approximately 45 degrees. The focus ring travel is small. Given the fact that the focus ring itself is very narrow, then focusing manually is hard enough. Good though rubber focus ring.

Lens does not have internal focus, during focusing, the frame of the body ('trunk') moves forward about half a centimeter, while the front lens does not rotate. It is possible to use various filters without any problems.

The minimum focusing distance is only 45 cm, while you can get the maximum magnification for macro photography of 1: 6.7, typical of many fifty dollars.

The lens has a small 'Focus Breathing' effect (changing the viewing angle during focusing).

Compatibility with converters is unknown. Most likely, there should not be any problems. Anyone who has experience working with this lens in conjunction with teleconverters, please unsubscribe in the comments.

Important: YONGNUO LENS EF 50mm 1: 1.8 - a lens from a third-party manufacturer. It may happen that it will not work correctly with some Canon cameras. Known Issues:

  • on a Canon EOS DIGITAL camera 450D (aka Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL XSi, aka Canon EOS Kiss X2 - one of the first cameras with Live View mode) this lens does not focus correctly, or focuses for a very, very long time, or does not focus accurately in Live View mode. Also, this lens is often mistaken in focusing in normal focusing mode using linear phase focus sensors (visual video).
  • the lens sometimes continues to focus (drives the lenses all the way, i.e. to MDF or to infinity) after the focus activation button has been released (usually half-pressing the shutter release button). This happens if the lens is not focused accurately enough (the lens, as it were, continues to focus when the focus button has already been released). This effect is seen with cameras Canon 40D.30D 450D. Not everyone will notice this feature and it does not particularly interfere with comfortable work with the lens.
  • when YONGNUO LENS EF 50mm 1: 1.8 is installed on the camera Canon 40D, sometimes the latter may not respond to the power lever.
  • perhaps with other cameras there may be other unpleasant features.
YONGNUO LENS EF 50mm 1: 1.8

YONGNUO LENS EF 50mm 1: 1.8 with supplied covers

Diaphragm

The good news is, YONGNUO LENS EF 50mm 1: 1.8 uses a diaphragm with 7 rounded blades. The formed hole is much rounder than that of the 5 blade Canon Lens EF 50mm 1: 1.8 II. With such a diaphragm you can get 14 ray stars from bright light sources.

YONGNUO LENS EF 50mm 1: 1.8, like all other Canon EOS lenses, uses automatic iris control via the camera’s electronics.

The aperture closes to F / 22, which is typical for 50 / 1.8 class lenses. Class 50 / 1.4 (50 / 1.2) lenses typically close the aperture to F / 16.

YONGNUO LENS EF 50mm 1: 1.8

YONGNUO LENS EF 50mm 1: 1.8

Image quality

I used a lens on a multi-megapixel camera Canon EOS 5DSRon which the lens did not perform as badly as expected. Of course, you can’t talk about sharpness at F / 1.8, especially at the edges and corners of the image, nevertheless, at F / 1.8 the lens is not so bad and has not gone very far Canon Lens EF 50mm 1: 1.8 II. If you cover the aperture to F / 2.8, then the difference in the center of the frame between Canon Lens EF 50mm 1: 1.8 II and YONGNUO LENS EF 50mm 1: 1.8 will be very difficult to find. Unfortunately, image angles only bounce back to F / 8.

At F / 1.8, the lens suffers a little from spherical and chromatic aberrations, and coma and astigmatism spoil the image around the edges of the image. The level of chromatic aberration is low, you can even say that chromatic aberration fixed better than many other fifty-fifty lenses.

At F / 1.8, a very strong vignetting is noticeable, which disappears closer to F / 4.

What I liked was the low level of distortion and pleasant color reproduction. In addition, the YONGNUO LENS EF 50mm 1: 1.8 behaves well in backlight and sidelight, it was very difficult for me to catch the 'serious' flare from the sun. Most likely the lens has really good enlightenment.

YONGNUO LENS EF 50mm 1: 1.8 has a bokeh pattern similar to Canon Lens EF 50mm 1: 1.8 II, in some situations the 'bokeh' of YONGNUO LENS EF 50mm 1: 1.8 is quite decent, but in general the 'drawing' and 'bokeh' of the lens does not stand out in any way and wants to be the best.

Important: I used several copies of YONGNUO LENS EF 50mm 1: 1.8, all of them were completely new, but the image quality was slightly different, which indicates a spread in quality during production.

My experience

Note that the YONGNUO LENS EF 50mm 1: 1.8 is the expected lens. In general, it is strange that more serious manufacturers such as Tokina, Tamron and Sigma did not come up with a cheap fifty-dollar class 50 / 1.8. Fifty is a very common fix, probably even the most common. To make such a lens for only $ 50. - this is a brilliant move, especially since the lens itself turned out to be not so terrible.

YONGNUO LENS EF 50mm 1: 1.8 is an excellent solution for those owners of Canon cameras who have heard a lot about the magical properties of fast “fifty dollars” and want to try them in action.

But when buying YONGNUO LENS EF 50mm 1: 1.8 you need to be prepared that in our countries there are no service centers that would undertake the repair of such equipment for free - no. And in general it is not clear how YONGNUO LENS EF 50mm 1: 1.8 behaves in repair, how often it breaks. With family Canon Lens EF 50mm 1: 1.8 II everything is much simpler - it is serviced and repaired without any problems.

If to summarize all my experience with the lens, then my conclusion is as follows: the lens has excellent price / quality ratiobut original Canon Lens EF 50mm 1: 1.8 II still better, and also more reliable.

A list of all Canon autofocus fifty dollars is found in the 'Confrontation systems Nikon / Canon. Part 3. Autofocus fifty dollars'.

Canon Lens EF 50mm 1: 1.8 II and YONGNUO LENS EF 50mm 1: 1.8. Photos and comparisons of two lenses provided by the reader Serhii Todoriuk

Differences between YONGNUO LENS EF 50mm 1: 1.8 and Canon Lens EF 50mm 1: 1.8 II

It's no secret that YONGNUO LENS EF 50mm 1: 1.8 was almost completely copied с Canon Lens EF 50mm 1: 1.8 II. But there are slight differences between the lenses:

  1. YONGNUO 50 / 1.8 has been available since 2014 and is a newer lens. Canon 50 / 1.8 II available since 1990 and is an older lens. Lens Canon 50 / 1.8 II they’re no longer releasing and it’s getting harder to buy it new.
  2. All YONGNUO 50 / 1.8 lenses are manufactured in China. First lenses Canon 50 / 1.8 II produced in Japan and have the inscription 'Canon Lens Made in Japan'. Production over time Canon 50 / 1.8 II was transferred to Malaysia and most of these lenses are labeled 'Canon INC. Made in malaysia'. Some users have noted a slightly better build at YONGNUO 50 / 1.8.
  3. YONGNUO 50 / 1.8 weighs 10 grams less than Canon 50 / 1.8 II.
  4. YONGNUO 50 / 1.8 uses an aperture device with 7 rounded lobes, while Canon 50 / 1.8 II uses only 5 straight petals, which negatively affects the circles of confusion.
  5. YONGNUO 50 / 1.8 costs about 2 times cheaper than Canon 50 / 1.8 II.
  6. Modern Canon cameras can automatically correct some lens distortion Canon 50 / 1.8 II. With YONGNUO 50 / 1.8, some image enhancement functions will not be available, since this lens is not in the memory of modern cameras.
  7. Lenses have different internals (different control boards, etc.).
  8. Focus ring u Canon 50 / 1.8 II - plastic, and YONGNUO 50 / 1.8 - rubberized. A trifle, but nice.
  9. Lens travel time from infinity to MDF and vice versa Canon 50 / 1.8 II about half that of the YONGNUO 50 / 1.8.
  10. In optical performance, lenses go shoulder to shoulder.
  11. YONGNUO 50 / 1.8 has a lot more features and problems with some specific cameras (for example, focus problems in Live View on a Canon camera 450Dproblems turning on on the camera Canon 40D etc.)

In general, according to some technical characteristics, the YONGNUO LENS EF 50mm 1: 1.8 even outperforms the original Canon 50 / 1.8 II.

YONGNUO LENS EF 50mm 1: 1.8 - the cheapest and lightest Canon SLR fix lens (see the price here). In general, it is a copy of the original Canon Lens EF 50mm 1: 1.8 II. Optically YONGNUO LENS EF 50mm 1: 1.8 is not bad, in some aspects even better than the original Canon 50 / 1.8 II... Despite all the skepticism about the 'Chinese clones' YONGNUO LENS EF 50mm 1: 1.8 is quite usable for its intended purpose.

UPDATED: an overview of the updated version appeared - Yongnuo Lens 50mm 1: 1.8 II and a review of the newer and faster version  YONGNUO 50mm F /1.4.

  • Kolya

Wow, I didn’t know that he was so cool :)
Maybe not sell? just kidding ...
two have already been sold and another has arrived from China - fly in.
I use it myself on a cropped camera as a portrait lens -
I like the newcomer very much.

    • Kolya

in its price category $ 50 - it is cool for everyone :)

      • Andrei

        Why buy it from you?
        Everyone can order in China.

        • Dmitriy

          What a cunning person (s)

  • Dmitriy

But are there no similar cheap fixes on Nikon? (For non-screwdriver cameras)

    • Arkady Shapoval

      There is https://radojuva.com/2016/11/yongnuo-yn50mm-f-1-8-n/

      • Violeta

Arkady good afternoon. If you can have anything on the camera OLYMPUA E-510 And what carcasses can you put on it?

        • Dmitriy

The old camera, in modern realities this is a big “soap box” with raw and manual modes. "Workers" ISO 100-200, all that is higher - hello, noises. You can’t find the optics for this camera during the day with fire, as the manufacturer turned the “mirror” line up many years ago. On the “secondary”, mainly whale lenses of absolutely outstanding quality (except that 14-42 are not bad), although there are isolated aperture lenses, but for completely inadequate money.

That is, this camera is suitable only for starting, to figure out what is what and what and get used to the semi-automatic mode (priority of shutter speed or aperture), or use it stupidly as a large and uncomfortable "soap box" in the "auto" mode and programmed plot ones. And yes, three AF points is a sentence. That is, you can actually focus only in the center of the frame, followed by cropping during post-processing. Manual focus does not save because of the very small and dark viewfinder.

A more or less good picture can be squeezed out of raw, only this will save you from noise and a very narrow dynamic range (the matrix is old and small).

Near it lies E-420 + 14-42, used to use it as an “every day” camera in a travel bag, because it’s compact and not a pity, but now it is gathering dust on the mezzanines, since in fact its use is just continuous hemorrhoids with endless “Pulling” pictures, and for “just click on the memory” and a smartphone is enough.

          • Alexander Malyaev

            >> And yes, three AF points is a verdict. That is, you can really focus only in the center of the frame, followed by framing in post-processing.
What is it like? What prevents re-frame after focus? On the D600, there are also a bunch of points, it seems like you can live, although it can be uncomfortable.

            • Dmitriy

Well, yes, it was meant for a neophyte. There are no hopeless situations, but this creates inconvenience.

              • Anton

Three AF points - a verdict?
I can’t even imagine why more than one focus point is needed? Composed the frame, shifted the focus point to where the focus is needed and then returned the frame back. And in the case of a bunch of dots: Composed the frame, determined the focal point, told the model to freeze like this, climbed into the menu, set from memory how much it would work, again brought it in, focused, clicked! Yes, during this time all the cats will run away, and the girls will get married)
Seriously, why are they all needed? Well, just shoot that thread relatively still from a tripod?

              • Arkady Shapoval

Really really needed. The method you have specified is used by a large number of photographers because of their unwillingness to delve into the intricacies and capabilities of modern cameras. Details here.

              • Valery A.

Anton: you don't need to climb the menu to change the focusing point - you just need to touch it with the multi-selector, without looking up from the OVI. And the abundance of focus points is also useful, for example, when shooting a flying bird - in 3D tracking mode or in automatic mode.

        • anonym

Old Olympus have an important advantage - it's a cool juicy, problem-free color.

          • Serge36ru

            Good old Kodak))

        • Serge36ru

Double kit? If the mileage is small, and not expensive, then there is no better choice. Moreover, the carcass is stabilized. Here are a couple of pictures in auto mode

        • Serge36ru

          second

      • Dev4ik

        And screwdrivers?

        • Lynx

          50 / 1,8D

      • Oleg

        You are mistaken, there are!

      • Yurok

Has already appeared on Nikon (YONGNUO YN 50 mm f / 1.8 AF) for 5000 rubles on Ali ... what do you say to Arkady about this? maybe in the know already, there is almost no information on the internet ((((((

    • Lynx

for Nikon there is a normal, excellent 35 / 1,8G

      • Arkady Shapoval

That's just new for $ 50 you can not buy it.

        • Lynx

well, for $ 70 the norm

          • Arkady Shapoval

Below 150 cu you can’t buy a new 35 1.8Zh, about no $ 70 it’s not at all. But Youngnuo sell new even cheaper than $ 50.

            • Alexey

it is obvious that the article is about 50 (!) dollars a NEW fifty dollars, which for THESE money is quite at the level. and he simply has no competitors in this price category.
Arkady, Ryska or tupit or troll as usual. It’s useless to explain to him)))

      • Alexander

        “Normal, excellent 35 / 1,8G” - excellent considering the price / quality

        • Lynx

“Normal” is an optical characteristic, not a quality grade.

      • Serge36ru

This one, judging by the pictures, is not worse at all. For Nikon at such a price, it would be a hit, for sure the crop!

        • Lynx

          fifty dollars on crop Ninuzhyn.

          • Serge36ru

            What? try that hottsa))

            • Lynx

              Yes, you can try anything.
              What does not cancel

          • Ivan

and viewing angles of 80 mm on the crop are needed - no?

            • Lynx

Well, here everyone decides for himself.
I need 100, 35 and 18 mm on the crop.

    • Oleg

      There!

    • anonym

There is the same for Nikon, with a focus scale and a metal mount http://alipromo.com/redirect/cpa/o/onoar45q0nom1v476cgl6vj6qv4w35v6/

  • Alexander Malyaev

Neither the lens nor the "backdrop" evoked emotions. About nothing. This is exactly the case when the "tail wags the dog."

  • Vadim

They will distribute it for free and I won’t take it. That kenon 50. 1,8 miserable, and this even more so.

  • Denis

    Yellow

  • Alexander Malyaev

Author, Nikolai, or maybe you’d better review the Canon 5DS with good glass? On Radozhiva no. A miracle of technology after all. ;)

  • Dim

Carcass review is apparently coming? Or was given only for the fifty dollars presented?

    • Kolya

Canon 5DS is not able to unleash the full potential of the YONGNUO EF 50mm 1: 1.8 :)))

      • Maugli

        + 1 =)

      • Arkady Shapoval

On 5DSR you need to use only TOP lenses, such as in the picture below

        • Kolya

          + + +
          I have one, I adore it ...
only the camera I have is just a Canon 1100D

        • ñ

BTW!, Arkady, ALWAYS make the photos manual, I really want to see the quality of the picture

        • Jury

Arkady, you are a pioneer, in a sense :) This is most likely the first experience of installing Industar on 5Dsr. However, YONGNUO EF 50mm 1: 1.8 is also unlikely to have been put on this carcass before you. Canon in Ukraine looks at these photos and has mixed feelings :). We are waiting for a review of the new penny. Thanks!

        • Ivan

no, the top ones won't do.
the canon traditionally metering on manual lenses will go into overexposure))))))

  • Dmitriy

But personally, the YONGNUO technique does not upset me, but even makes me happy. And in terms of flashes and in terms of synchronizers)

    • anonym

      Keep
Only positive experience (I am the owner of three flashes YN-560III, panels YN-300, YN-160, and synchronizers RF-603, RF-622)

  • YURI

YONGNUO has another inexpensive YongNuo AF 35mm f / 2 Canon EF lens, and the reviews are pretty good.

  • scif

Arkady, I would like to soon see a detailed review of canon 5dsR with native optics) well, and the experience of using 50! Ty megapixels

  • Dmitry K

maybe he? the transition of Arcadia to canon? and immediately to 5dsr? Now she will feel and pass to the joy of Alexei? Or is the breakdown coming? Canon Revealing? Worthless 50 megapixels? Demonic technology? I stood still waiting.))))))

  • Dmitriy

I do not understand the author, why for example is it tenacious to shoot at 1.8? EPT chip? The author in life takes pictures on the most open :) I am mocking of course.
And since the owners of Canon equipment are endlessly lucky, they have the cheapest AF focuses on the market! With what I congratulate them.
Arkady do not shoot some trash for examples :) Please, it kills more)

    • Arkady Shapoval

At open apertures, lens problems are usually most visible. On closed apertures, sharpness is usually normal and vignetting. At the same time, there are examples on the covered ones. As for trash - I really had very, very little time for the test with 5dcr.

  • Pastor

And for me, it's a very excellent lens. For those who are not tired of comparing drawings, sharpness at the corners of the frame and other things. For beginners, taking a fix with aperture of 1.8 for $ 50 is a great option. So far, I have only casually encountered this half, and I have not seen 35 at all yet. But I will note that these Yungnuo sell used ones at a price of 4-5 thousand (sometimes new ones at the same price) at flea markets, while a Canon half-to-one can be bought for 3-4 thousand. Due to the dollar exchange rate, at least in the Russian Federation, buying a new cabin is more expensive than buying 50 1.8 used ones. And often the choice will be towards the native manufacturer. But all the same, the prices for native half-tons are so low simply because these half-tons were bought 5-8 years ago, and the cabin boys just came out and the sellers hope to sell the new product at a higher price. Over time, the market will settle down and we will have a cheap half and 35. And there, you see, Jungnuo will make autofocus 85 1.8 for a hundred Basques, for 200 - 135 2.0. Maybe it will come to zooms. It will join the orderly row of tamrons, sigma and tokin. I look forward to this no less than the moment when handicraftsmen from samyang learn to do autofocus to their excellent lenses like 14 2.8 or 85 1.4.
    Thanks for the review!

    • wharfage

      The pastor said well.
      The topic can be closed))
      Amen!

  • Manomas

I had 3 pieces of Ken's 50 mm 1.8 II, which is at least not worse. But they don't like TLL flashes, the leading number from the flashlight is taken, the recharge is long enough on any Akum or batteries, the calico menu, the spin is inconvenient. They seem to be relatively hopeful, well, how to use a nightmare as the main puff ...

  • Caelwyn

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QmoE71gW3ZU
Here is another fun review of this lens from DRTV.

  • Casper

We are waiting for a review of the jungogo 35. By the way, I've been using it for a month now. Due to the employment and the time of the year, it is impossible to fully “spank”. So far, almost everything I have done is quite nothing like that ...) Your money is definitely worth it. Especially in view of the current exchange rate.

  • anonym

Arkady is diplomatic - the objective is of course IT, and the most real one. What's the difference how many cu it costs?! Tell me, please, what kind of guy you need to buy a DSLR and shoot with such Chinese creations - obviously, after all, the second series of "Sharp shots". Buy Ultrazum immediately!

    • Arkady Shapoval

Everything is simple here - F / 1.8 by 50 mm is unlikely to be given by some kind of soap dish. The lens is designed for fans of "bikes" (and it doesn't matter what quality it is) and those who hope that F / 1.8 will help in low-light conditions. For our poor countries, such a lens is a godsend. And I want to note that this Youngnuo is not much worse than the old manual fifty dollars, especially with closed diaphragms.

      • Denis

Arkady, do you have all the photos in this review turned out very dark, or did it seem to me?

        • Arkady Shapoval

These are questions for the exposure of Kenon.

          • Alexander Malyaev

Well, do not forget to mark this in the next "comparison" of Canon with Nikon.

            • Denis

wait until the Chinese make a lens for Nikon, and then we'll see
              http://photar.ru/predstavlen-yongnuo-50mm-f1-8-dlya-nikon/

              • Pastor

Thanks for the link, it is very interesting what fifty dollars will be on Nikon.

              • Alexander Malyaev

                >> The overall lens shape is modeled on the Nikon 50mm f / 1.8G, which costs $ 217
Where does it cost $ 217? We sell in all stores for the equivalent of $ 150.
And if a native fifty kopecks sometimes “smears”, then the Chinese will “smear” in full.

              • Arkady Shapoval

This is a prototype; instead, they released this https://radojuva.com/2016/11/yongnuo-yn50mm-f-1-8-n/

          • Alexey

Arkady, perhaps it is necessary to put +1 amendment on this kenon? this problem was on 6D and Mark 3 on old firmware, profixen in new, more plus correction is not needed there.

  • Vladimir

Chinese focuses much faster does not wiggle back and forth like a canon, I found only one flaw with canon, and even if you use it on nex, for me it is better than native

    • Arkady Shapoval

The Chinese still focuses more slowly (if you compare the lens running time)

  • varezhkin

well done, Yong people! and we are waiting for the review of the megapixel monster ...

    • Oleg

And from the Jongites we are waiting 24mm

  • anonym

The ideal donor for transplanting the 37th, 44th and 9th

    • Vasili

Do you think it will pull? This Yongnuo is designed to drive plastic back and forth - and here there will be heavy iron lens blocks of Jupiters, especially if we are talking about the 37s. Although you have to try ...

  • Felosaf

It is better to buy a normal Soviet portraiture. Without autofocus it will be, but as for me it is better.
    Geliso 81H or Jupiter 37A

  • Vladimir

Great camera. RAW you are very pleased. Just crazy detail.
The noise is generally at an excellent level. How did it happen so ?! )))
The only sad thing is that you can’t write FullHD video in 60 frames. This is the last century. Normal slowdown cannot be done at 30 frames.

  • anonym

I WILL NOT ADVISE THIS LENS !!! Broke for 2 months of use error 01. Aperture. The repair price is more expensive than it and wait more than 2 months since there are no spare parts! only in China! JUST! although the picture does good! But it doesn’t pay for itself!

  • anonym

The info in the review is a bit outdated - lenses for Nikon are currently being produced. You can buy for example here http://alipromo.com/redirect/cpa/o/og9gv6u9f7r5fahpjz62lh61imcsf3mx/
    or here http://ali.pub/2bw4n

Almost Nikon's copy, only the price is almost THREE times lower!

  • Ivan

Had a Canon 50 by 1,8 - washed in the open. At the same time, neither back nor front focus was detected by shooting at a target from a tripod.
Came from Yongnuo 35mm - sharp center with open ..
So much for China .. Now I think, can a native sell half a toss and order a cabin boy 50 1,8? ...
