  • Ivan Wolverine

gentlemen, pay attention to one circumstance ... it was not for nothing that I copied the performance characteristics of the cameras twice ... and for some reason you deleted them ... now specifically - the matrices of the new cameras are not 24 megapixels, but only 20 megapixels ... the reason is DOD ... diffraction limitation of the aperture ... :-))))

    • Roman D

DOD on the crop correspond to 8-10 megapixels. Not at all 20.

  • YURI

With the new cameras coming on sale, it is cheaper to buy a "VERY good outdated"….

    • Serge36ru

      The most sensible koment! :)

  • Dmitriy

I have been waiting for a long time to replace my D300 and D7000. That would be a great camera, BUT ... Several months ago I bought a 7Dm2. It just so happened that for the price of D500 I bought TWO carcasses. Somehow I am tormented by vague doubts that the D500 will be twice as good.
But in Boots, I am not satisfied with just management. I’m used to it, I’m used to it, it’s done; it’s still not clear how.

    • anon

better than a wheel there is nothing. no buttons and other pribludy. At minus 29 and a humidity of 80%, when I removed the mittens and in half a minute hands frozen the frost, there is nothing better than a wheel. It is really convenient, you can rotate it with one finger even in woolen mittens. And what about the buttons of the same D750 and d800? but nothing. frostbite fingers and all. ) and here to close a hole, I turned the wheel and that's it. to reduce shutter speed, turned the wheel. no buttons and other shnyaga) and dust and moisture protection on the wheel is many times better. there is a central shaft, it is hidden and protected by a housing and anther. and the button is a maximum gland and then on the top ducks)

      • anonym

You can only say that at 750 and 800 shutter speed and aperture are changed by the dials, not the buttons.

        • A.N. Onim

With a canon on a kenon it is convenient to leaf through pictures and rummage through the menu, on Nikon I could not get used to the fact that this is done by a joystick.

          • Alexander

On Nikon, too, you can scroll through the pictures with a wheel

            • A.N. Onim

It was a little more convenient to do with a large disk in the vertical plane than with a small wheel in the horizontal

              • Lynx

                no

      • Passer

What kind of nonsense? All control on the D750 is carried out by wheels, including viewing photos.

      • BB

in fact, it is generally known that a button is just a-azdo easier to seal than a wheel, a lever, etc.

      • Photographer

so on Nikon and holes and shutter speeds and ISO and viewing photos all with WHEELS

      • Pashqwert

In cold weather, the wheels are of course good, but when shooting in calm -15, the time for the rigor of the hand holding the D7000 was almost instantaneous compared to the grasp for the D50, only because of the partially magnesium body, which sometimes acts as a plus argument in disputes.

      • Dmitriy

Furiously plus! Some anonymus write that, allegedly, due to the magnesium body, hands freeze faster. I agree if you have delicate hands, but real Siberians at -30 - 40 take off with gloves, and so that the hands do not freeze from above, they put on mittens. The whole point is not in gracelessness, but in the fact that the hands have a larger cooling area than the entire head, in addition, the blood supply to the hands is weaker. If you find money for a device with buttons and wheels, then 300 rubles for leather gloves will not crush you.

  • evg

It seems to me that after the whales AF-P
The D3400 will already be without a mechanical diaphragm, and for Nikon it will be the last nail

    • wharfage

      D3400 will not
      will be D3500

and what will happen in the D3500 - h.z.

      • Dmitriy

Do not guess .. Nikon broke the system and released the 3400

        • Arkady Shapoval

          D40, D40x, D4, D4s, Nikon 1 J4

  • kavalorn

In my opinion, the Nikons do everything right. Just for those who choose their first DSLR, they have not yet learned how to take pictures, but have already read hundreds of reviews and scribbled dozens of pages on photo forums about which camera is definitely cool, but he has no money for it, and which one is threshing floor - but worth it again the same ones. And then, unexpectedly, a new amateur top camera, almost as cool as a professional one, but only DX ... and now this is an absolute plus - now you don't have to spend money on a long body !!! Sky-high ISO, focus points for almost every pixel, and ... oh my God !!! 1/8000 !!! yes there is even a round eyecup! what else can you dream of ??? She does not have a built-in flash - but they still know that nobody cares for it and only spoils everything ...

It will only come later, there is no control of the external flash from the built-in - so go buy synchronizers ... If you don't know which synchronizer is better, it doesn't matter! we have prepared a new SB-5000 especially for you.
Something I did not read there, about whether the new carcass has a screwdriver, but most likely it was not accidentally mentioned, as well as about the metal case, moisture protection, etc., (as Lynx already said) but it doesn't matter! Why buy some mechanical junk when there are new “E” lenses!

As I understand it, despite the fact that Nikon does not scold just the lazy one, the company is far from bankruptcy, so the camera will be excellent, so that it would be quite easy to earn more on those who do not really understand the issue))) but with a rotary screen, 4K there is ... and you can screw some kind of box to it, and then you can also connect it with a wire, but it doesn't matter! - so it looks even more solid!

  • anonym

This is a plastic device. Hang serious optics and it will vomit out of plastic. This is similar to the D7300 for suckers, skipped for the pros.

    • A.N. Onim

This is not plastic in the common sense of the word, but a composite. The "black" wing in aviation is actively used, the raid and loadings there are such that not a single camera can dream. On the 750th, too, a "plastic" muzzle, can you give examples of where something came off someone?

    • Alexey

Well, yes, if not metal, then flimsy plastic. Read for the sake of decency what properties modern polymers have.

    • Anonymous # 2

Give cast-iron carcasses with titanium buttons!

      • Victor

        + 1 !!!

  • Dmitriy

I think the camera is great! Without even holding it in her hands. But the price !!! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the price of the D810 almost at the moment! Damn, sell it to me at 20% more expensive than 7Dm2, and I will return to Nikon again!

    • Lera

In a year, the price will fall by 500-700 American money and everything will be all right. Considering the cost of d7100 650, d7200 about 1000, well, d500 1300-1500 just right. After a year and a half, a maximum of 1200 Baku.

      • Dmitriy

Your words to God in the ears ... :) If it happens, then with pleasure. The D500 has a tilting screen, which I really need.
Anyway, the camera really needs to be super-duper! I just want to!

        • Lera

All new products become cheaper over time and the D500 is no exception. A pure marketing move is to push the price to the maximum possible at the beginning of sales, so that later there would be a way to gradually move to the real cost, thereby partially covering expenses such as advertising, etc.

        • Lera

For example, how much did the d7100 cost at the beginning of sales? About 1200, now it barely reaches 650.

          • brighty

I took almost at the beginning of sales for $ 1080, and now it is 770, -310 $ on the face, or on the face ... in general, it has fallen in price.

            • Lera

Well, how is the d7100 compared to the d7000? I think to update my d3100 from which it has long grown.

              • Dmitriy

Yes, the difference is generally minimal. If you do not take a monstrous pixel density (much higher than the D800). I refused a replacement in due time, as it’s not worth it, and the price difference is palpable.

              • Photographer

                definitely 7100, I had 7000, I do not recommend

              • BB

The autofocus of the D7100 is definitely better - this is a big plus, well, and a bunch of nice small improvements.
It may not be worth changing 7000 to 7100, but compared to the younger 3x00 / 5x00 line, the difference in ergonomics is very, very noticeable.

I took 7100 in the summer for about $ 640 and 5100 (with 103k mileage) remained in reserve as the second camera.

              • Photographer

Вв, it’s worth changing 7000 to 7100, I’m not the only one tormented with this 7000, autofocus lives its life on most cameras there, this was the reason for the sale in my case and in the case of my friend and thousands and thousands of 7000 owners :))

              • Pashqwert

Probably would recommend 7100 (as current owner of 7000). It does not differ significantly in price and functions, it still has some convenient points: 1: 1 viewing by the central button, independent control of the aperture and mirror lift - for those who shoot in liveView, the grip is a little more comfortable, the central point is more sensitive (plus on paper), and new features and updates. As for the matrix and the result, both are not CMOS in their pure form and require significant processing.

              • Pashqwert

Word for word I agree with Photographer about autofocus and the main reason for leaving 7000. The autofocus algorithm is configured to shoot action, the object of interest should move (tremble), and not be as close as possible to the camera at the focus point.

        • anonym

          And I! And I! Hotsu-oo-oo!

      • Victor

In a year and a half, I will buy a new D750 with baaaalshim pleasure for the same $ 1200, or even cheaper. And a full frame, in my opinion, is better than a crop. No matter how sophisticated it is ... Well, I don’t know, maybe someone needs 153 autofocus points - I really don’t understand why the heck, but I would have had 51 for the eyes and don’t spoil it at all ...

  • varezhkin

nikon did give a light ... for $ # is.

it's like dreaming of returning to the USSR

ps although until recently it never seemed unrealistic))))

    • Dmitriy

Arkady, D3X - studio camera (ISO and others). At that time, the very megapixel camera. Now its place is completely taken by D800 and descendants.

    • Passer

The D750 is quite a replacement for the D700. The same budget full-frame station wagon, only in modern marketing realities. You won’t wait for another full-frame universal state employee, since this is 750.

      • Dmitriy

At the same time, the D700 has ergonomics and control of a professional camera, unlike the D750 :)

        • andrei2911

And what did the control and ergonomics of the D750 not please you? More?

          • Dmitriy

The D750 and D7000 have very similar controls. The D300 and the new D500 are the same. The speed and efficiency of control in the latter is much higher simply due to the fact that the main parameters can be changed without opening your eyes from the OVI and without poking your face with dirty nails.

            • andrei2911

In the D750, all control of the main parameters is concentrated near the shutter button and they can also be changed without taking your eyes off the OVI and poking nothing in your face. If you do not know the difference in management, then why even vote about it on the forum? At 750, all control is focused on the wheels and buttons near the wheels.

              • Dmitriy

My friend, do not say what you do not know. I had about 5 years of experience managing these schemes in parallel. And very tight.

              • andrei2911

You, as the owner of the D750, make me laugh. Essentially have something to answer? So, why do you need to take your eyes off the viewfinder while operating the D750? The specifics, please.

    • R'RёS,R ° F "RёR№

      Especially 135ka is needed !!!

  • varezhkin

what pleases me is Nikon's new marketing policy. finally they stopped releasing cameras once a month, it seems, they realized that this is a flawed path in every sense. what else pleased us - the new matrix, but you could easily shove 24MP from the current crop ... OVI D500 seems to be the best in the universe - an increase of 1.0x (albeit on a crop)! when was that ?! here nikon honestly worked. Well, finally, we have fastened a normal connection with a smartphone - this is a fat plus in Nikon's karma.

Nikonrumors displayed cheat sheets for Nikon representative at the exhibition (17 pages). I don’t know if this can be displayed here, delete if that.
    http://nikonrumors.com/2016/01/08/nikon-d5-specifications-and-features-explained-confidential-nikon-internal-document.aspx/

    In short, about D5:
    - D4s discontinued
    - improvements compared to D4s: separate faster AF engine, two AF tracking modes, more reliable AF tracking, new MultiCam 20K module, sensitivity from EV -4, auto-adjust AF, new 20 MP sensor developed by Nikon, coverage with AF points, improved lens AF drive algorithm - 50% faster
    - new mirror mechanism
    - 180K exposure metering matrix.
    - 3 RAW sizes
    - some kind of "electronic vibration reduction"
    - focus on people's faces
    - more natural skin tone (Y-g-g-gy))
    - shutter resource 400 thousand.

    • Pashqwert

Corrected for my "school" English, dpreview about electronic vibration reduction to the D5000 included an image stabilization built into the carcass in three axes for displacement, which, with optical stabilization of the lens for rotation in two axes, stabilized in all axes. They are also looking forward to checking the mechanical phase focus control function for the installed lens, based on data from contrast focusing.

      • Peter Sh.

It seems to be the same “electronic vibration reduction” used in Nikon's soap dish for video. Just the frame size decreases, and the frame moves along the matrix after the image:

  • anonym

Cool !!!!! What was missing, added what was a strong point, still improved !!! I am saving up to 500k.

  • Pastor

Interesting updates. d5 I do not consider, tea is not a professional, and it is a pity to sell half of the photographic equipment for one carcass. But d500 is not even an option. When it gets cheaper. Autofocus pleased - a bunch of points, crosses everywhere, the sensitivity has increased. I really hope for the price by the middle of the year at the level of 7 dm2, then competition will begin. For me personally, the d500 is almost an ideal camera. Firstly, a rapid-fire one, I need it for reporting. Secondly, with a rotary touchscreen display is also a handy thing. Third, with fast autofocus. I suppose the defense will be at least d7000, but the 3300th defense is usually enough for me. In addition, it is hoped that the new matrix will produce even wider DD and higher working ISOs. Even if the d3200 produces a decent ISO 500 for me, there is a hope that the d6400 will suit me at 12800 ISO, and maybe even XNUMX. That in itself expands the scope of its application at times.
For me, the disadvantages are the lack of puff and the price. If you can already take d70 for 610 thousand, then buying d500 for 160 is somehow annoying. It seems to be understandable that ff is not a panacea, but nevertheless nobody canceled working ISO, dd and grip, and ff has higher possibilities in these three parameters. In theory, for 2 thousand dollars you can buy d700 and d300s, and a couple of decent glasses for them. Still, reporting with one carcass is not always convenient, but here for the price of one crop there will be ff and a crop, and even with glasses. In general, the camera is good, but the price does not allow me to take it seriously yet. Perhaps, when it appears for 50 thousand at a flea market, I will think about it, but so far it is difficult to find even d7200 at such prices.
Something did not impress the puff, the sb-700 is enough for me for everything. It may be for those who often take feasts and reports for a few puffs and go, but somehow it is also doubtful. On the canon, I am content with the 580 and 430 kit, and on the Nikon, the sb-700 is enough, and to the heap, if necessary, the manual Jung 560. For myself, I don’t see the need for the sb-5000.
Glasses are also not yet clear why. What will this motor give on carcasses without the support of such a motor? I would like more information. Canon seems to have everything simple, there are 650d and the next three-digit ones, there are 70d, they are for video and they need glasses with STM for smooth and fast focus in the video. But how this will be implemented by Nikon - I don't know. On the other hand, I shot on the d3300 on holidays from 18-55vr2 and tried autofocus. In general, everything is not so bad, even with room lighting, focusing takes little time (although 700d is noticeably faster even without glass with STM). I was pleasantly surprised, at d5100 and at 18-55 rpm it was much worse. Maybe the lens itself will allow you to focus faster on any carcass? Well, in general, I have not yet understood what's what, I will wait for reviews.
Very interesting discussion in the thread. In principle, you can agree with both parties. And with those who believe that Nikon has slipped, and with those who say that the models as a whole are successful. Because people have different goals. Someone color, someone plastic, someone speed and reliability, someone bells and whistles, someone modest size. And in principle, everyone is right in his own way.

    • Alexander

I am also waiting for reviews. It will be very interesting to read about the matrix noise, well, in comparison with the same D750. Judging by the technical characteristics, they are better with the D500, but common sense tells us that the D750 can not be bypassed. :)

    • Lynx

the models are generally successful, but nikon has slipped.
      In short. ((

  • anonym

Class! Really Nikon did something worthwhile. Well done. I think the cameras will be great. But the price at the current rate is also good.

  • atypical Kiev

Explain to me, a complete layman in photography, what a report camera is and how it differs from a non-report camera.
And why is 6 frames per second extremely low for reporting, and why my D750 sucks (by the standards of some experts), and 10 frames is cool.
I just can’t imagine the situation, although it’s probably possible to fantasize when 10 saves and 6 ruins. The real, vital, and not fictitious situation is interesting. Thank!

    • Dmitriy

Reporting is primarily designed for quick response, shooting speed, the ability to shoot as many frames as possible. At some points from 6 frames it will be impossible to choose something worthwhile, with 10 cabra the chances of getting the right one increase in proportion to the number of frames. After the D300S and D7000, 7Dm2 allows me to get more suitable frames for me personally.

    • Peter Sh.

Actually, D5 and D750 do not compare - different classes, as it were.
D750 is very well suited for a leisurely reporting, who argues?

    • Pastor

I will explain. You are filming a rare bird feeding chicks at sunset. A bird flew up and gave a worm to its cubs. The process lasts one and a half to two seconds. Your task is to make a good shot for printing in a magazine or for posting on the web. Here you have made 8 frames, in half you cannot see the cub, two feathers of the bird reared from the wind, and on two the focus ran away. The next chance to film this may not come. The same situation, but you have a different camera with faster and more accurate autofocus and shooting speed. During the same time, you have made 15 frames. Again, half of the cub is not visible, the feathers are raised on four, but not with out of focus and voila - you have the desired frame for a national geographic :) The same is in sports. Many actions take less than a second. And the more frames you take during this time, the greater the chance of getting an athlete with his eyes open, with a normal light on his face, with a decent pose. In general, wildlife and sports photography requires fast shooting speed and fast autofocus. Here I have the fastest seed from cameras (canon 7d) and 8 frames per second, in principle, seems to be sufficient until you try 10-11. The difference is felt, the opportunities are growing. In general, not everyone needs it, but 10 frames will not hurt for reporting. I myself had an example of shooting sports. Two massacres with a difference a year. The first shot on a slow nikon d80 and d5100, the second already at 50d and d7000. Maybe it's the experience gained over the year, but still the autofocus and shutter speeds did their job - the number of good shots increased.

      • Dim

+ The same is true when shooting children: here the child sits, a second and a fun game has begun in the course of which the child spins, spins, actively gestures and at the same time actively lives on his face. Here the d300 helps me a lot and I also really like the d300, but so far it’s a little expensive. I'll take it later

        • Dim

          Those. D500 of course

    • Irakli

This camera has a shooting speed of about 1 frame in three or five seconds, do you have any comments? ... (Henri Cartier-Bresson is known for doing most of his work with one camera, a rangefinder "Leica", and one lens - 50 mm.) https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%90%D0%BD%D1%80%D0%B8_%D0%9A%D0%B0%D1%80%D1%82%D1%8C%D0%B5-%D0%91%D1%80%D0%B5%D1%81%D1%81%D0%BE%D0%BD

... He just knew how to take pictures .... It is necessary to strive for this, for the ability to See and Photo. If you do not know how to treat teeth, then having bought a charmingly fashionable drill, you will not treat it better ...

          • Lynx

If you have learned to heal, but you have an ancient, broken-down and non-working drill, you are unlikely to cure something.

When I was a pioneer, I went to a simple Soviet music school, to the trumpet class. The pipe was Italian and cost 2000 Soviet rubles. Clearly, they gave me it for free. But you could play the harmonica too, what's the difference if you play like a maestro? And if you do not know how, then an expensive pipe will not save, so it turns out?

Of course, photography is an art, and a real master can do something on the phone. interesting. to remove. But you do not need 'something', you need everything and you need it perfectly.

          • Alexey

It begins to seem to me that there are 3 categories of people who have heard this expression:
            1) Not taking seriously. The steeper the camera, the steeper the pictures. And all, no alternatives and other factors.
            2) Taking too seriously. "Yes, real pros can shoot the Olympics with Nikon D40 and 18-55 and don't blink! 11 !!! 1". (Anonymous, hello!)
            3) Well, perceiving as necessary.

          Turn Bresson into an anathema!

      • Lynx

        Did he make reports? Seriously?

  • David

There is not only a greater number of frames per second. But also a huge buffer of 200 frames. The D750 is a good all-rounder - it will go in the studio, shoot a reportage (sports), and record a video

    • atypical Kiev

I don’t agree to the video account.
When an object moves, half of the time it is out of focus (
The camera cannot instantly (very quickly) change autofocus when an object moves, it is constantly late. Rather, these are my crooked hands, but not so much!
When the subject is static - no problem, but filming kinders rushing back and forth is just hard.

Autofocus when shooting video 'should' work well with newer STM lenses (time and practice will tell). In the meantime, Nikon's autofocus in LV is sad, especially when shooting a video, and even more so if the subject of shooting noticeably changes the distance to the device.

I can’t understand why the ZPC has such a bad contrast with AF: my ancient Panasonic FZ50 (purchased in 2007) focuses twice as fast as the D5100 (2011 onwards) or D7100 (2013)?

        • Peter Sh.

I don’t know how in Kenon, but just the other day I read in the memo of a representative of Nikon that even fresh cameras will not make video contrasts in contrast. It’s too expensive, they say. Like, you want to dance, buy an accordion, and we have a camera for photographs.

        • atypical Kiev

honestly, in terms of autofocus when shooting video, the D750 loses even to my old Samsung S3 mini smartphone.

          • anonym

Well, shoot video on your smartphone.

        • Vyacheslav

Everything is simple for a video camera in a soap box and a smartphone, the matrix is smaller than that of a crop, and even more so for ff mirrors, respectively, the depth of field is wider, and for a smartphone, the focal length is also affected by a focal length of about 3 mm.

        • varezhkin

the grip compact has a lot more, it's much easier there. we will not say anything about smartphones with their SHU. It seems that FF is even redundant for video, but DX is quite to itself.

for $ 2000, you can now buy a new D810, I think that the price of the D500 will actually be lower, for example, the 7100, which has long been available for 650. But in general, you need to take the glass, and wait a year or more, wait for the camera in 2016 We are still waiting for a bunch of surprises. The new 20,9 matrix and the new autofocus system are just the beginning :)))

  • Peter Sh.

It is unclear why the people so lament over the price? Forgot how much the D200 / D300 cost?
    The same money!

    • BB

Yes, I remember when I only dreamed about a DSLR, the D300 cost $ 2200 per carcass

But buttons are buttons! iso moved to the right, and mode to the left! Joystick stuck! there is only a wheel with a button in the middle to do - there will be a canon)))) management has become better in appearance.

  • Alexey

Maybe it was already, or it is impossible - I don't know….
    Like the first 5D test.
    Believe it or not.

All tests, before sales, are paid advertising.

      • Alexey

This is clear. But beautifully furnished, eh- would not jinx it.

  • Alexey

in the problem of choosing optics and cameras, the worst thing is for wedding photographers. because \ advanced \ customers do not ask for photos, but with what camera the photos will be taken. therefore, my advice; like in the old days, stick to the Nikon nameplate at any zenith and the order is accepted.

    • Peter Sh.

      Not afraid to be beaten?

      • grandfather

I'm not afraid, they are stupid and look at the nameplate, and not that other.

        • Denis

I think people will appreciate first of all any Mark. pick up!

        • Peter Sh.

Then you can safely print on a label printer black on gold: Nikon NIKKOR 11-600mm f / 1.4G AF-S VR Nano Crystal Coat SWM. Stick on a telescope, and feel free to take one hundred thousand per hour of work.

    • BB

When an advanced customer asks about the technique, we answer Canon EOS-0 + Nikkor 1.8, and give a link to the picture))

      • Dmitriy

Super. With permission, turf picture :)

        • BB

the picture is not mine, pulled out of tyrnet for a long time))

      • anonym

        Bede is not enough! )))
