Good afternoon! Please tell me how the picture will differ without processing and Photoshop in Jpeg portrait for example with nikon d7200 and nikon d300s? I have had nikon d3200 for two years now I want to grow ... ...

    • anonym

It all depends on the photographer and lens

    • Annatoly

      Nothing.
For that, Photoshop is there so that even colors can be changed

  • Alex

Good day. Tell me who knows how to turn off the LED backlight in the D7200?
When the built-in flash is raised, when you press the shutter button, the yellow lamp first lights up and the subject is highlighted, and only after that the shutter and flash fire. I can’t take a picture of my dog. This backlight in the face of the animal, scares off and the dog turns away. And when she turns away, shooting takes place. Set the built-in flash to a minimum of power, it sets the clock signal. In the settings menu, I turned off the autofocus backlight, but when the flash is raised, it still lights up. Can I turn it off?

    • SashOK

And if you switch to manual focus?

    • Alexander

The backlight works under two conditions:
      Focus selected at center point
And in the user settings menu, the focus point highlight is selected.
Deactivate the function or choose a different focus point, not central.
Actually read a little instruction. Even an experienced photographer sometimes discovers something new. For example, about autofocus modes.

      • Michael

This is not an autofocus highlight, but a red-eye function. The light comes on the same.

        • Valery A.

From red eyes are not preflashes really?

          • Michael

On my cameras by means of a lamp, not a preflash. Moreover, the friend turned off the autofocus illumination in the menu, so these are red eyes, there is no third way ...

      • Michael

Actually 4. Another focus mode is AF-S or AF-A (it will not work in AF-C) and there is no external flash in the shoe.

  • Vladimir

Hello, I’m very interested in comparing the quality of pictures made in the same D7200 and D5500 models. Indeed, theoretically, these cameras differ from each other only in ergonomics, the number of focus points (the presence of an additional screen, a case made of another material, tightness, yes, perhaps and that’s all). It seems to me that this does not affect the quality of the picture. And if you tighten the piccourt control, then you will not distinguish it from FF at all. What do you think?

    • Valery A.

And if you shoot at high ISO, or fixes - whatever one may say, but you can tell from FF.

    • Arkady Shapoval

      + - just like that

      • Vladimir

And then high ISO? After all, they have the same processor! And noises arise only from overheating of the matrix, due to lack of processor power, and they have the same one.

        • Vitaly N

And what does the processor have to do with it? The difference due to pixel area is at high ISOs. And geometric dimensions - when shooting with high-aperture optics. With sufficient illumination and not large apertures, there really is no difference.

          • Vladimir

I'm sure they didn't understand me: I asked: "If we consider two cameras of the same dx format, with the same processor, with the same shooting conditions, will we see the difference in the picture quality?" And the comparison with FF is not correct here, only visually, that is, for oneself beloved.

            • Valery A.

I was sure that you explained to yourself: "cameras differ from each other only in ergonomics, ... It seems to me that this does not affect the quality of the picture." Tse so. (Although both I have dumb).

              • anonym

And you rent both and try)))
Because when dumb it will always seem
and fasten the lens to make it more interesting
I think all questions will disappear after a short experiment
                Good luck))))

              • Valery A.

7200 beats in all respects the picture 5500 as a child? Well, you didn’t say it before; I took FF out of ignorance.

          • Vladimir

Given that if the pixel is small, then it requires more light, and the processor starts to work hard, "starts to sweat" then it (the processor) gives up its heat to the matrix, and hence noise appears. That is, the cause of the noise is not the physical size of the pixel , and processor power, for example: put EXPID4 in one camera, EXPID5 in another, with the same matrix, and you will see the difference.

            • Valery A.

In my opinion, you willfully interpret ongoing processes. The processor is unlikely to warm the matrix, and the noise, IMHO, does not occur due to the hot matrix, but from the supply of an increased voltage to it (which is the ISO) and some of the pixels incorrectly display the light reception, which is percent. still not able to edit the picture to satisfactory. Me so kaa-tsa.

              • Vladimir

These are not my words, on the forum “Blog of Nikon D7200 Owners” many people say about this, including the famous Yulyasha. This is the physics of noise, and physics cannot be fooled.

              • Valery A.

Julia, she, of course, is in authority, but it would be better to listen to Japanese engineers.

              • VasilVasil

Everything is simpler. The transistor (amplifier element) has its own noise level (I will not give the nature of the occurrence, including heat). The higher the signal-to-noise ratio at its input, the better the signal quality at the output. Accordingly, a small pixel is able to accumulate a smaller charge per unit time than a large pixel at the same level of intrinsic noise. Naturally, technology does not stand still and small-pixel arrays are built on crystals with a lower level of intrinsic noise.

            • Pokemon

              Who is Julia?
Can borsch cook well or so - another girl with an iPhone?

              • Arkady Shapoval

Yulyasha is a master, knows a lot about many things. I would not dare call her a girl with an iPhone.

              • Valery A.

Yes, she has a few 800 currents. With top-end lenses in addition.

              • Pokemon

All crocks on cmos are about the same noise. And the processor has nothing to do with it. Depends on the efficiency of noise reduction, shooting conditions, camera settings and a bunch of reasons like pixel size. And the same d5100 / d7000 can give a more acceptable picture at high ISO than their small-pixel descendants.

              • Alexander

I would not say. I still have d5100 and already have d7200. ISO is more working in the new camera. The dynamic range is really wider. Especially in the lights. The sky in raw stretches an order of magnitude better. The only thing is that sometimes the shake appears on such megapixels in those conditions where 5100 did not show my tremor.

              • Pokemon

I did not understand what she is a master at. And the presence of d800 and top-end glasses does not mean anything at all. If you have money - go and buy 1dx mk2 and what is now a cult figure? What I mean is that you shouldn't refer to the forum characters, who are often engaged in self-promotion and attentiveness.

              • Vladimir

Julia is the official Nikon sales representative in the Netherlands. She is a great master of her craft, knows very well the theory of photography, as well as a great photographer. Her work is known to the whole world. Out of respect for her, I will not say how old she is, and I would not have spoken about her like that.

              • Alexander

… ”Yuliasha is Nikon's official sales representative in Holland. She is a great master of her craft, perfectly knows the theory of photography, as well as with a long experience as a photographer. The whole world knows her work. Out of respect for her, I will not say how old she is, and I would not speak about her like that. "
I agree completely and add from myself
With her experience in photography, a number of tips are simply very: interesting, relevant and most importantly effective. If ever I can meet her and talk about the photo, I will consider myself lucky.
                I have a d7200
I’ll just say I'm satisfied))) And I wish you all good emotions!

              • Denis

she’s not Julia, I don’t know her name, but write her nickname in full Julysha, he is not connected with the name, but with the month of the date of birth :)

            • Vitaly N

Vladimir, if in your opinion, then my D3200 should give a better picture than the D800 - there are only processors, but the D3200 has fewer pixels and less load on the processor. However, for some reason the opposite is true.
As someone clever at the dawn of digital photography wrote, there is only one ISO, the minimum available. The rest is noise. This is true - everything that you see shot at ISO above the minimum is pulling information out of an underexposed photo. And the processor is of little help here - the information is converted into numbers already on the matrix.
At the expense of Yulia - she is an excellent practitioner, but judging by the forums, she is not a technician.

              • Vladimir

Firstly, you compare the gift of God with the scrambled eggs: one crop, another full frame, and these are incommensurable things, secondly the 3 *** EXPEED4 series, and D800 EXPEED3, and thirdly, it was about the physics of noise passing. And your attacks are not clear to me.

              • Annatoly

Frankly speaking, as a practitioner, she also raises doubts ...
I read her controversy with one who bought the D7200 and praised him - she proved to him that there was no point in going to 7200 - through pages 5 it turns out that she had already bought the D7200 herself and allegedly already having the D810 and D850, already assures that there is no better camera than the D7200 and the range of the D7200 is even wider than that of the D810 and that it allegedly shoots 500 frames per day, etc.
I never had a chance to see there something really worthy of a professional .. The feeling that just some woman just says common phrases ..
I do not quite understand, to be honest, her general delight

              • Alexander

"... On account of Yulia - she is an excellent practitioner, but judging by the forums, not a technician."
It’s better to be such a practitioner and do beautiful than to be a knowledgeable technician, but the question is what can you do?

              • Valery A.

Regarding the story with the d7200 - can it be that “Yulia is an official Nikon sales representative”?

              • 1Ds_Mk3

Enough to cultivate a cult of personality.
Yulyasha is Indian Joe. Nobody saw him, but everyone heard something. In fact, there is nothing like that in her photographs. Any of us can become “Yulia” if he wants. The camera is in hand and we go to shoot for our pleasure.

    • anonym

The difference between FF and crop is easily felt on ISO from 800 and above.

      • Annatoly

In the sense that D7200 images will be cleaner due to a higher working ISO?

    • Alexander

Only the camera control is different. Perhaps DD. DD in d7200, in comparison, for example, with d5100 "wider and deeper". The D5500 is a new camera, the differences will hardly be noticeable in ordinary scenes.

  • Peter Sh.

Noises are different. Basically, noise at high ISOs is the result of incorrect amplification of the signal from the cells of the matrix, due to lack of light and, accordingly, too weak charge on the photodiode.
The central processor only reads this signal. Another thing is that different firmware can be installed on the same processor, which naturally affects the final result.

  • Anna

Good evening. I reread a bunch of information and comments on your site and got confused completely….
I shoot at d90, I'm thinking of updating the camera, I'm considering this option. But I read about the fact that such a number of megapixels is not good for crops. As I understand it, they also complain about "carrot" colors ... Is everything so bad?
    I shoot at 50 1.8, I was thinking of taking this camera with a 35 1.8 or a 17-50mm sigma f / 2.8
I like the soft colors of d90, I'm afraid that the color rendition of this camera will disappoint me or am I worrying in vain?

    • Michael

Most likely in vain. Download examples from the network, but look satisfied, not satisfied

    • Vitaly N

Don't be afraid of extra pixels - they don't exist :). And no one bothers to reduce the size of the photo during processing. But when you change the geometry of the photo, extra pixels are good, not harm.

      • Vladimir

Do you really think that the more pixels, the better?
2.-When decreasing the image resolution, the neighboring pixels are not combined into one big bold pixel, this is real, only if you have little space on the flash drive, nothing more, at the same time reduce the detail ...

        • Vitaly N

You don’t understand, since you can’t even google the D3200 processor. You about Thomas, you about Yeryoma. And they’re already starting to contradict themselves. After so many explanations, it’s easier to ignore them. Small pixels have bad points, but it takes a very long time to explain.

          • Vladimir

I don't have to google anything. I gave you an example with 2 cameras, identical matrices, but with different processors in terms of power, and said that in both cases there will be different working ISOs. And you began to give an example of two matrices, the area of one of which is 2,25 times larger than the other, and you are still trying to dump everything from a sore head onto a healthy one. Learn the mat part, and creative success to you.

            • Anatoly

              But Vitaly was right

            • Dima

              2,36

    • BB

A friend and I were filming one event in a dark room: he was on the D90, I was on the 7100. Everything was merged into one folder. When shooting with a flash, flipping through the photos in a row, and without looking at the size of the picture, the photos are indistinguishable (including in color rendition) - that is, with the Picture control and WB settings, we quickly brought pictures from both devices to a very close result.
One thing: some numbers (with low mobility of the subject) on the D7100 can raise the ISO to 2500-3200, and shoot without a flash, but for the D90 this is not a working range at all (1600 is the most extreme case)

  • Nikita

Suitable for commercial photography? Will a wedding with ISO 3200 be normal in the temple?

    • dmc

      iso3200 on 7200?
Yes, on these 24 megapixel crop matrices for 1600 everything already rings from noise.
      What nafig 3200 ..

      • Anatoly

        I have a D7200 and a D7100
So on the D7100 there are already noises on the ISO 200-400 and are quite visible.
But on the D7200 iso 6400 is fully operational. I can take photos even where the details cannot be seen with the eye. ISO 6400 is normal working even for printing photos and without loss or distortion of colors
At ISO 10000, of course, yes, the picture is grainy

        • BB

At 7100, starting from ISO3200, the color 'floats' and fades (then you have to pull it out), but yes - I used 6400 several times, and there still remains something from the picture.

    • Michael

It depends on what kind of requests for photo quality. If the temple is in a large city with wealthy, demanding citizens, then any crop will not work. Look: on the net, there are RAWs in the reviews, incl. at high ISO. If you are satisfied - take

      • Annatoly

Any crop does not fit, say?
Obviously did not look at the hierarchy of Nikon models in terms of the breadth of the dynamic range
In the first place in the photo latitude - D800, in the second - D810, on the third - crop D7200 - and after it (with a poorer range) went every little thing (albeit ful) - D610, D750, etc.
Crop is often a head start and can give a full frame. And in general, this division into crop and full is important only for noobs, who bought their first camera a month ago and registered at some photo forum between the same noobs.

        • Annatoly

“First in photo latitude - D800”
          Read - D850

        • R'RёS,R ° F "RёR№

Anatoly said well and competently. Only now I was surprised that 810 is lower in DD than 800, it seems like a newer camera. Well, if so then so, I believe.

          • Michael

Typo what to find fault with?

    • Annatoly

Not entirely normal - but perfectly acceptable.
When working in ISO 3200, post-noise processing will be required. the colors will be quite acceptable - they will not float.

  • Andrei

I bought a D7100, I got a copy with minuses, I had to return it, so I’m thinking of taking another one, but I’m thinking about the D7200, is it worth the overpayment, and is it really better than the previous version, tell me please!

    • Sergei

It depends on the overpayment. If $ 100, then certainly worth it. It is a little more perfect in all respects except the top screen. In our store, I just looked: D7100 + 18-105mm $ 973, D7200 + 18-140mm $ 1081. As for me, the choice is obvious

    • Denis

and D7100 with sigma 17-50 is buggy, but D7200 is not :)

      • Anatoly

Likely D7100 with any sigma is buggy
Yesterday the third time I noticed a scrolling glitch, and only doper that always with glitches there was a sigma of 17-70
        Removed, earned

  • Andrei

People, do not take it by the hand., Help who can, with the profile settings, or what is the task there, due to the fact that when I take portraits, the photos are not sharp, flat, the dynamic range is not significantly visible, more soapy, with shutter speed everything is in order, not lower than 1/60, I control the aperture and ISO, please tell me about the settings, how many I have not read, reviewed, but ...

  • Aleksandr

To be honest, all your reasoning that “… I haven't read Pasternak, but I think that this is g… oh,” as that is not the case. I also use Nikon, and I also know how to read technical specifications, compare these characteristics on the corresponding resources. And that's why there are a bunch of branches here about absolutely nothing, like: “... And I won't change my (7000, 5100, and the like) to 7200 ...” Interesting and important, I think, this is the opinion of user 7200. Advanced and knowledgeable. Why? Because if 7200 is the first human camera, then, as they say, why look for the best. But the issue of upgrading for various reasons, at 7200 is already a dilemma. Especially if you are an advanced (or others think you are) amateur photographer and “at weddings” you don’t pay for the equipment, and money doesn’t burn your thigh, as Shukshin said. But, alas, there are almost no comments from real 7200 users that can help in the solution. Some speculations about Nikon's stagnation. The opinion is subjective. But inspired by the cleverness of people who, judging by the number of comments here, have no time to shoot. There are couch troops, and now, I see, couch photo experts are also being formed.

    • Alexander

... But, alas, there are almost no comments from real users of 7200 here that can help in the solution ...
maybe the device was a success and those who own it just do not make sense to prove and argue
For example, I just do not have time for this useless lesson since
      own and satisfied d7200
      friend d7000
often communicate with him and believe me there are a number of points in the d7200 that I personally like and I do not regret that I took this particular device.
And in conclusion: I know people who make interesting and very interesting devices that make you look and see, and I know people who own top-end devices, where you will pass by and don’t stop because it is empty that is ordinary and not interesting.

      • Aleksandr

Already bought. I’m renting it myself and rejoice)

D7200 moved to the archive on the Nikon Japanese site. Like the d5500. Over the next year, stocks will be sold.

Good day! Who uses what glass on this camera when traveling (landscapes, portraits against the backdrop of landscapes) ???

    • .

Although late, it can come in handy. Kitovy Nikon 18-140 (naturally when traveling) with a gradient filter, Nikor 35mm F1.8 for indoor, Sigma 17-50 F2.8 EX DC OS for indoor and for portraits with good sharpness. As for the portraits against the background of Christmas trees - exposure correction to - 1,5 (just in case).

  • Irina

Good day! Tell me, please, is a full review planned for this camera?

    • BB

Unfortunately, Arkady has had few reviews on cameras lately. The D7200 is not much different from the D7100. Read the review on the D7100

  • Denis

    good afternoon
Please tell me what you can change the d3100 to (there is a standard lens 18-55, 18-200, MC Helios 81M 2/53)

Second-hand choice (7200 body - 13-14 thousand UAH with mileage up to 17k or else add money and go to full frame)
Photo in a closed room with two constant light sources Godox SL60W (distance to the mannequin is about 1-1.5 meters)
A good magnification is needed for subject photos, mainly of small details on clothes in the form of small buttons and numbers on tags, small logos) 18-55 brings small details very well and can be very close to the object, which cannot be said about 18-200)

Please tell me which lens is better to replace 18-55:

    1) Sigma 17-50 / 2.8 os (6000 UAH)
    2) Nikkor 35mm f / 1.8G AF-S DX (used UAH 3500)
    3) Nikkor 17-55 (from ebay auctions) 350-400 $ (but he will give me the same magnification as 18-55) and is it worth arranging such an amount for a photo of clothes or taking a sigma 17-55?)

Or it is possible to consider d500 (1k $) or take a full frame + lens for this money
If the full frame, then which one ... and which lens to take or make a choice towards the d7200 which, as I think, should fully satisfy my needs

    Help please
    Thanks for the answer

    • Denis

Added more photos of small details that have to be photographed
