JUPITER-11 4/135 with mount Contax-Kiev RF

There is a huge number of different modifications of the JUPITER-11 lens, both for SLR and rangefinder cameras. The largest list of versions of this lens can be found in the review Jupiter-11A 4 / 135.

JUPITER-11 4/135 with mount Contax-Kiev RF

This mini-review shows JUPITER-11 4/135 with a Contax-Kiev RF mount manufactured by KOMZ, with serial number No. 6114853, which is a complete copy of the lens JUPITER-11 1: 4 F = 13,5cm P with a Contax-Kiev RF mount (serial number 6111713). The differences are only in the spelling of the names of the lenses.

Despite the presence of the red letter 'P' on the lens JUPITER-11 1: 4 F = 13,5cm P, the type of coating is the same for both lenses. As far as I know, they stopped writing the letter 'P' at a certain period, since all lenses used a simple enlightenment by default.

At flea markets, you can find the opinion that lenses with the red letter 'P' are something better, but I do not believe in this error.

I want to note that the difference in both the quality of the assembly and the quality of the image between JUPITER-11 1: 4 F = 13,5cm P and I did not find JUPITER-11 4/135, and therefore this review will be very short.

Judging by the pictures from the network, then there is another version of the JUPITER-11 1: 4 F = 13,5cm P lens with a Contax-Kiev RF mount with the same name and everything else, but made at KMZ (view view) If someone knows the reasons for changing the name of the lens, as well as possible differences between the lenses, please leave your thoughts in the comments.

The name of the lens did not change in any way, and the spelling of the lens parameters changed in 1961, when the corresponding GOST probably changed to a more modern one. This applies to all plants, although in some places the old spelling has been preserved for some time.

      Thank you.

  • Madness scif

Arkady, but I am embarrassed to ask examples of pictures with this lens, the guide ???)))

    • Arkady Shapoval

There are none in the review. I do not consider it necessary to bother with examples.

  • Dmitriy

Arkady, an off-topic question: is it convenient to use this camera with manual lenses for portrait shooting? I think to buy the second version (with a stabilizer), or is it worth taking the D750? In Moscow, they are at the same price.

    • Arkady Shapoval

      Yes, convenient.

      • Dmitriy

        Thank you.

  • Neofot

Now for the price of Nikon 810 + 12-24, + 27-70, + 70-200, (D2,8 for all) you can buy a new car. Here is such a collision. Therefore, there is a chance that frankly museum specimens of lenses will gain a second (or even third) life.

    • Arkady Shapoval

Sell fossils! Cheaper than the native front cover for 24-70 / 2,8 :) http://olx.ua/list/user/bVWv/

      • Neofot

Thanks. I already have Jupiter 37a and Tahir 11a.

    • anonym

      but in my opinion 810 + 20 / 1.8 + 50 / 1.8 + 85 / 1.8 + 180 / 2.8 is enough - cheaper, lighter, better ... zooms for bombing! a normal kid will cost even one fifty dollars on a crop!

      • Lynx

A normal kid can and will do such garbage as a fifty dollars on a crop, but a normal photographer, I think not.

        • Dmitriy

It all depends on what to accept as the norm :)

      • Wedding Bomberman

I don’t know who will manage what, but I shot the last wedding all day on the Nikon D3s + Nikkor 50mm f1.4G. But one fifty dollars on the crop is a pitchfork.

        • Arkady Shapoval

          Sashko D3s detected :)

          • Wedding Bomberman

Well Arkady :) Well burned me.
Maybe it’s not Sashko who writes at all?
            Now every second D3s :)

            • Arkady Shapoval

Well, we all perfectly understand who writes.

  • Dim

    D810 became a crop?

    • Wedding Bomberman

D810 and was always crop :)
      Cropped medium format.
And the medium format is also crop. (Crop from large format)

      • Dim

A large format is only for majors. In the face of a hopeless situation.

        • Wedding Bomberman

I would not say an ordinary American plumber can buy it for cash after saving 3 months :) A European can collect it in a year. Well, everyone else can only say with foam at the mouth that Hassel is evil, sitting with a Nikon D90 in the country with a beer.

          • anonym

What's wrong with the D90? Not for the "Alfasamites"?

            • anonym

It seems that he lost this high rank due to the well-known throwing from system to system.)

            • Wedding Bomberman

The fact of the matter is that the D90 is not bad at all, and it is clearly no worse than the “full” 36 * 24mm frame.

              • anonym

                "And certainly not worse than a" full "frame 36 * 24mm." )))

          • Dmitriy

My friend, the opinion about the high salaries of American plumbers is somewhat wrong :)

  • KalekseyG

Today I bought one, redid it to 5200 with infinity, I did not notice problems with color, but God forbid it is chromate. and so she looks pretty and gives an interesting picture. for 300 rubles and 15 minutes of work, taking into account the time to search for a problem in nete, it is very justified.

    • Alexey

Please tell me how to redo it. The Jupiters of the 9th and 11th lie at home, I don’t know how to cut it, I took them off to Kiev 4. I liked it, but it seemed dreary to me.

  • KalekseyG

    give email

  • zengarden

I bought the same for a couple of thousand, but the rangefinder M39, born in 1973 (almost the same age), in zero state :) it is so unusually small compared to the Yu-37A ...

  • Rick

I also have this version of the lens sawn under the SLR. This lens looks unusual DSLR. This lens is small, I take it on a trip when there is no place in the bag.
