Nikon D750 review

According provided by Nikon D750 camera many thanks to Alexander Logachev.

For those who do not like to read a lot: Nikon D750 was announced on 11.09.2014/XNUMX/XNUMX and so far is Nikon's best amateur CZK. That's all :)

Nikon D750

Nikon D750 BODY

All tabular data can be found on the official website, I don’t want to retell the same parameters once again that wander from one review to another. In this mini-review, I will only leave my own impressions of using the Nikon D750.

I want to warn you that on the official sites nikon.ru, nikon.ua, nikon.kz and even europe-nikon.com, the Nikon D750 is located in the section 'Professional SLR Digital Cameras' (proof image). This information is not true and is a marketing ploy. Or maybe the world just went crazy and the level of 'professional equipment' fell below the plinth.

Unfortunately, my favorite site imaging.nikon.com, although it remains more honest, nevertheless went along the paths indicated by the marketers and deleted the professional / amateur equipment separation directories, leaving only one large list (proof link) Even the vile Pedivikia puts the D750 on a par with D700 (proof link) At the same time, the fact that the Nikon D750 is still an amateur camera (ENTHUSIAST DSLR) can be easily verified on nikonusa.com (proof link) Sneaky marketers generally try to pass off the D750 as the first camera in some new weight category, even adding it to the Nikon NPS lists.

I lead to the fact that sometimes, when choosing a camera, users are guided not only by its capabilities, but also by positioning in a certain segment. Do not follow the lead of marketers, be vigilant!

Nikon D750 - something in between Nikon D610 и Nikon D810... Unfortunately, Nikon D750 is not a direct replacement for the legendary old lady Nikon D700... When Nikon D750 came out, I was very upset that everything in Nikon D750 is very cool, but all this 'beauty' is housed in a body with amateur controls.

Personally, I absolutely love the Nikon D750. To the question 'Is it worth changing Nikon D700 on the new Nikon D750 'I can definitely answer - it's worth it.

At the same time, Nikon D750 still cannot reach some of the heights conquered by the 'XNUMX':

  • D700 It has a full metal case, the D750 has a composite case, with a composite front.
  • Minimal excerpt у D700 is 1/8000 sec. against 1/4000 sec. the D750. This difference is often sucked around on the forums, in fact, for real work it has no fundamental value, you will find details on this issue in my article '1 / 4000 vs 1 / 8000'.
  • excerpt flash sync D700 makes 1/320 sec., against 1/250 sec. at the D750.
  • Nikon D700 has a protective eyepiece shutter (what is she for?).
  • the maximum burst speed for the D700 is 8 fps versus 6.5 fps for the D750. This is critical for sequential shooting.
  • The D700 can use the MB-D10 butlock with the optional BL-3 cover, which allows the use of large and very capacious EN-EL4 or EN-EL4a batteries from flagship cameras Nikon D3, D3s, D3x, which significantly increases the number of shots taken on a single battery. Nikon D750 can only use standard EN-EL15 batteries in its butblock.
  • The D700 can use uncompressed RAW files with full raw data read from the camera's image sensor. The D750 can only use Lossless RAW format for maximum photo quality. Both cameras can use 14-bit color depth. What is it and what it is eaten with you will find in the section '12 bit raw VS 14 bit raw'.
  • with the same RAW compression settings (14 bit, lossless compression), the Nikon D700 buffer stores 17 frames, the Nikon D750 buffer only 12 frames.
  • Nikon D700 can shoot in TIFF format.
  • viewfinder magnification Nikon D700 is 0.72X versus 0.70X for Nikon D750. Although, at the same time, the D750 has 100% frame coverage, compared to 95% for the D700.
  • The D700 uses a professional memory card form factor - CF, D750 – SD (SDHC, SDXC). But at the same time, the D750 has two memory card slots.

In all other respects, the Nikon D750 is either better or at the same level as the Nikon D700.

I would also like to dwell on the focus module. Nikon D750 first uses focus module Advanced Multi-CAM 3500FX II, which, at least theoretically, is better than all its predecessors. The operating range of this module is from -3 to +19 EV. At the same time, D4,D4s, D800,D800E, D810, D810a operating range is -2 to +19 EV A good focusing module was severely lacking in cameras Nikon D600, D610 and Nikon Df. On the other hand, it's a pity that Nikon has not yet come up with a really new focusing system and continues to build all its sensors based on the Multi-CAM 3500FX, shown back in 2007.

Working with the D750, I had no complaints about the focusing system. I can't say for sure how much better it is than that of the Nikon D700, but what's no worse is for sure. But when working, it seems that the coverage area of the focus points is slightly reduced compared to the D700.

I was also very pleased that at last “Father Nikon” heard the prayers of his followers and improved the color rendering. Now, an acceptable color in JPEG with the D750 can be obtained immediately, without strong dances with a tambourine. But if you dig into RAW with non-native converters, then everything becomes not so rosy :(. Generally, many people do not like the color in Nikon D750 pictures, especially skin tone (skin color in portraits). Color has its own specifics, which is superimposed on many rumors and myths.

Prices for Nikon D750 in popular stores can look at this link.

Prices for modern Nikon cameras in popular stores can look at this link.

In comments Can I ask you a question on the topic and you will answer, and you can also express your opinion or describe your experience. Many little things for a photo can be found on AliExpress.

You can download RAW source files at this link (71 files in .'NEF 'format, 2 GB) + at this link (40 file in .'NEF 'format, 1 GB). All photos were shot with Nikon D750. All photos in this gallery are on-camera JPEG without processing. Then I'll add more examples.

When working with the camera, which I visited in the review, I did not find problems with glare, which are a kind of failure in the Nikon D750. But still it’s very disappointing that after the unsuccessful Nikon D600 the company again launched a raw product on the market, fortunately, if there is such a drawback in the D750, then it can be eliminated free of charge (proof link).

The bottom line:

Nikon D750 turned out to be a very nice camera, almost completely balanced camera, which was very important after a long absence of replacement for the D700. I can't say the D750 is a complete replacement for the Nikon D700, but the D750 itself is a very attractive camera.

If don't know which camera and lens to choose, then my article will help with this - Which Nikon amateur DSLR camera and lens to choose?

    Hello Arkady !!!

I greet you and all those who work on the Nikon system !!! I personally work and am already * like an old grandfather ** :))) I've been sitting since 2009. Nikon d 300 has a very good pro-APS, everything can be customized, and the old optics park almost all works on it !!!

I decided to switch to the FULL Frame :))))))

Here, too, I’m wondering for myself whether to take the Nikon d 750 is a more reasonable price. I read all the communications, I look at the camera, it noticeably touches everyone (and the price bites), and everyone has their own personal opinion.

It’s important for me to find out how it works with the old * Nikon film optics * Pros, minuses, what kind of experience do people have overclocking *** photo printing, who printed say more than 60x90 cm? Naturally, from the printing equipment also hangs the print result !?

The second option is to save more money and buy 810 ku computer will pull it, but the 850 th is very expensive, and the upgrade of the computer will pull * not weakly * so * scratching my turnips * when these investments justify themselves ... ..? Yes, it is clear that everything new is good, there is experience worked on 800 ke *** excellent camera. But there are many moments, and most importantly it is a professional lens + you need to be friends with a tripod to understand what it can do!

And here in the whole direction of photo work * Reporting * + creativity, landscape, portrait.

Option 3 (Budgetary) Now on Ebay there are a lot of offers Nikon d 700 watched they sell different copies (on average about $ 600 + _), then he can take it (morally, there will be a little cotton wool), and on the other hand my 300y also gives 12 MP. But this camera is purely assembled in Japan, the legendary build quality (the film technique from Nikon, which I have, everything works fine for me to this day)

Yes, and others have offers very massively so * 800, E, 750, and 810 are less likely to offer, probably not with a simple one. But not everyone is ready to buy Nikon Z 6 and 7 mirrorless mirrors now; the prices are hot just from PhotoKins :)))

But Nikon d 300-8 times repaired + gum this is * scourge * and so Glory to the shutter 1 I ran 374 I could have changed it (in the service they didn’t reset it, now it’s already showing 000 with something thousand of triggering this is the 500nd (2) shutter )

Conclusion assembly Madin In Thailand * suffers, or maybe I'm so lucky ***** :)))

I well understand that this is all the photographic equipment located in the so-called * small-format photograph *

The medium format is still better, but it’s very cool for the money! There are options with a film of type 120 to work, but it is also expensive one * shot 600r) :) multiply by 12 frames :) one film then! Yes, you can pour a little money into creativity is worth it :)

Here Arkady, I want to hear your opinion and advice! Or maybe someone else is interested in this topic?

    Thank you very much!

For all success and good photos, the main thing that is very important for the photographer is that they will be at the right time, and in the right place!
And Opa Good frame is in the piggy bank!

    • Arkady Shapoval

The tip is simple. Take used D610 + better optics. Cut off excess troubles. If it is critical that the camera is new, then the D750.
The D750 with old optics works like an ordinary modern 24-megapixel full-frame digital camera. I printed with d610 (almost the same sensor) only 30 * 45 from the manual 28 / 2.0, it is quite suitable.

    • Peter Sh.

      This is just epic!
      Sobbed.

      • Alexander

Peter Sh. Regarding your pictures of ballroom dancing. Do not flatter yourself, they are not important. Clear sharp, white with overexposure, and who needs it. Frozen with a stake. Forbid yourself to shoot at ISO over 800. Shutter speeds are sufficient 200-250. If sometimes something is slightly lubricated in a sharp movement, then that is even better. At a dance competition, what is needed is not the clarity of the image, but the dynamics of plasticity, the beauty of the movements, what about you? Some features of the camera with an exposed sensitivity of 2000 -3200 ISO. Horror…

        • Peter Sh.

Thank you for your advice, Alex. Of course I will.
I would very much like to look at your pictures of ballroom dancing, for an illustrative example, so to speak.

        • Peter Sh.

          I'm sorry, Alexander. Not Alex.

        • anonym

He will not show. Sofa experts do not have their own pictures.

  • Igor

Thank you for your reply and thanks for the advice !!!

  • mimocrocodile

People fear the d750 with Avito.
Many cameras have worked out a resource, almost twice.
They sell cameras with real runs up to 318 (three eighteen) thousand frames.
Half or more offers in Moscow with shutters already replaced. A lot of seemingly good, but inside physically tired cameras.
Apparently wedding machine gunners get rid of their victims after the season :-(
Friendly advice - do not get fooled by the appearance and "almost new", "did not sink, did not fall, did not swim." You have a risk for 80-85% of the price of a new camera to buy a zombie with a replaced shutter and a real mileage of half a million frames.

    • Arkady Shapoval

The same applies, in fact, to any camera.

      • mimocrocodile

Yes ... but if not for one “but” - d750 are especially popular with Moscow weddings.
D810 and D800e can be found in a more tolerant state, like d3s or d4 or df.

  • Anastasia

Hello. Help me to understand. Today I bought a Nikon D750, new. There are no complaints about the camera yet. But! When I tilt the camera towards me - from myself, from the left side, somewhere above, something quietly rings? I don't even know how to describe this sound exactly. As if the screw is not completely twisted there and knocks on something)) The sound does not appear if you tilt the camera in other directions. The sound does not disappear when turned off. Does not disappear if you remove the lens. Is this normal? Or should you try to return your camera to the store? Thanks in advance for your answers.

    • Arkady Shapoval

If the camera is under warranty, then don't worry. If this is a serious problem, it will quickly manifest itself. If this is some kind of generally permissible trifle, then it's okay.

      • Anastasia

Yes, the camera is under warranty. There is still a 14-day period for verification and return in which case. But there is still such a question. I ordered the camera in the online store. The camera, as I understand it, is "gray". Because her serial number is not registered on Nikon's official website. In the store itself, they explained this to me by the fact that we are in Belarus, and the information on the site concerns only cameras imported into the territory of the Russian Federation. Although this is hard to believe. But, they said, if there are problems, they will fix everything. Judging by the fact that prices in all online stores are approximately the same, as I understand it is a problem not only for this store. You cannot find this model in ordinary equipment stores (at least in my city). Maybe you should return this particular camera and try your luck with another? How scary is it that this is a “gray” camera?

        • Arkady Shapoval

The fact that it is gray, by and large, is not scary. Decisions what to do - you must make yourself.

          • Anastasia

Thank you so much for your help.

    • mimocrocodile

The metal mounts of our neck strap apparently clink)

      • Anastasia

No, definitely not the strap. Checked.

    • Jury

try to raise the flash and tilt the camera again, will the sound change or not?

      • Anastasia

No, the sound remains the same.

  • Nikitos

Hello guys, I decided to go to the full frame, I think what to take, I look closely at the D750, but there are some snags, I read on the forums, in the comments that the focus points are not very convenient in this unit, there are problems with autofocus in LV, and that the shutters fly quickly, but sometimes I doubt the same comments, maybe tell me whether it is worth taking this carcass for commercial (reporting) filming or taking a closer look at something else? (Budget is limited)

  • Igor Potemkinsky

Damn, I understand everything - the reporting system, tenacious AF, work at high ISO, etc. But not as much to kill skin color. The more new cameras come out, the more I am affirmed in the opinion that it is necessary to buy a second, more or less fresh in terms of mileage, D700 and try on D3x, as a replacement for Sony A850, when it begins to agonize (die) - I shoot a lot and think at least for a couple more - I will continue to hold the D700 with the main camera for three years.

    • Pokemon

The d850 has a pretty normal color.
Great skinton at the 4th nickle and EOS R.
Examples of photos are full on flickr and other resources. In the end there is a Fuji X-T3 there, too, everything is in order. It makes no sense to go in cycles on old cameras.

  • Experienced

Arkady can’t make any choice: d750 (new) or d800e (with very low mileage). I don’t take pictures of people, not for work, but as a hobby. I’ll take off the pazzag and the streets of the cities (on vacations). I like to shoot at dusk and at night. Old screwdriver lenses. New lenses now on the road. Perhaps the Chinese will buy 35 / 1.4.

    • Arkady Shapoval

There is no Chinese 35 1.4 yet. For myself, under the old lenses, I would still recommend the newer d750.

      • Experienced

Arkady, I thank you from the bottom of my heart!

      • Alexander Gladkich

        Hello Arkady.
        Tell me.
Does the backlight buttons on the Nikon d750. If so, how to enable it.
        I did not find.
        If not this feature.
It is so not convenient. In the dark.

        • Michael

          There is no backlight there

          • Alexander Gladkich

            Thanks Michael.
To go nuts. Buttons on the camera of such a price segment do not light up.
I recently bought a new 750 and didn’t even notice that they are not lit.
And he went to shoot the city at night.
Oops. I got it. It was heavy without backlight.
I'm not used to camera ergonomics.

            It is a pity.
            Thanks for the reply.

            • Ruslan

The backlight of the buttons on the camera will only be superfluous, everything is intuitively handles, especially when you get used to the camera

            • Eugene

There is no other more expensive D810

  • Alexander

    Welcome.
What would the d750 change now, how much would it cost and would it cost?

  • Pokemon

I took a walk today on the Savelovsky radio market in Moscow.
I saw the D750 with a range of 5 thousand copies with peelable rubber bands, paint on the letters FX, and a scratched bayonet ring. How it was possible to post a camera - xs. Or the camera itself is going like this ... I twisted it and gave it to the seller, in this state I did not take it.
    *
And I also noticed that the screwdriver on the d750 does not work as vigorously with my 35 / 2D as on the D3s or D4.
Focusing on the d750 seems to be quick, and the drive does not rotate the glass almost instantly like on the d4, but as if with a sloth, reluctantly. Unpleasant moment.

    • Pokemon

mileage - 5 thousand frames, but it turned out, yes, right according to Freud: '-)

    • Arseny

You have correctly noticed - the motor drive on full body cameras is much more powerful than on semi-pro analogs. Lenses of the 80-200 / 2.8 type on them open in a completely different way.
But the downside is also present - rapid wear and the possibility of damage to the gears, in the event of resistance (blocking of the af ring).

  • Amateur

People advise the RAW converter for D750.
I sat on the CAPTURE NX2 for a long time and VERY accustomed to it.
Unfortunately, it does not work with the D750. Recommend a free converter. Nikon which of the modern will NOT give way to the NX2?

  • Amateur

Arkady, what’s your opinion on the latest version of the converter from Nikon?
    What do you think?
Is it worse for working with RAW than NX2?

    • Arkady Shapoval

As for me, it’s not so functional

  • Anna

Hello. I want to switch from 3200 to full frame. On a budget, I am considering 610 and 750 from 24-85. Please advise which one to choose. Itself is more inclined to 610.

  • Anna

Hello, Arkady and readers of this useful portal :)
I bought the D750. Shot for him Nikkor AF-S 24-70mm f: 2.8G IF ED with D700. Synchronized all the settings of the fotikiks and ran into a problem - to full zoom in the usual “wedding at a gallop” mode, the focus is smeared. It smears in situations where the D700, with identical settings in conjunction with this lens, coped perfectly. I checked the front-back focus - it is normal on all 24/35/50/70 ...
Maybe this glass is too old for the D750? All the same, 2008 ...
Does it make sense to bring this bunch to the officials for adjustment?

  • SashOK

Yes, the kanesh device is excellent purely in technical terms, but in color (especially in skin color) - the same crap as in my 7000. I don't like that! We have to twist RAVK ...
Although for landscapes, architecture, various techniques, etc. - fits, what you need!

    • Victor

what is there to twist - two or three clicks in the RT and the result is ready.

      • anonym

        Show how you do it.

    • Ali

What settings do you have on the camera? I mean BB, picture management, etc. I used it, I liked it. True, I first set it up for myself. Since she had default settings; auto BB (which is godlessly lying in cloudy weather). And the color of the skin was somehow inhuman. I set the BB manually, reduced the brightness of the channels, changed the image management “standard” to “portrait” and the skin color became normal.

  • BB

I took it the other day, I still have not tested it properly.
The first thing I didn’t like was the small top LCD, which is one and a half times smaller than on the D7100. Because of this, another unpleasant moment comes out: some basic settings (Iso, image quality, etc.) are made as on junior DSLRs - through the main display of the camera, and this is not disabled: for example, when changing Iso, a large display turns on, while changing Iso visible on both the monochrome upper display and the lower line of the OVI. The upper display is generally more reminiscent of the display of a film device - large characters in the upper line (why, someone will be looking at them from two meters?), And little other data.
In some respects the D7100 is 'more professional' than the D750, despite the fact that it costs almost half the price

    • BB

But the frame buffer is almost twice as large as compared to the D7100 (at almost the same resolution - 24MP).
Another plus - the D750 does not slow down when shooting 14-bit RAW, but it does not speed up when using Jpeg / 12bitRAW, and crop mode (always 6.5fps in Ch mode), unlike the D7100

      • Pokemon

Everything is fixed or fixed already. And the shutters that year changed for shares in the official service in Moscow on Kurskaya to many even up to 150k shots.
The bridesmaids had a lot of fun on this - this amount of dumping will “finish” at the end of the year, BUT I have never seen new closures. After all, there were also idiots who after them bought these zombie cameras.

        • Pokemon

It is curious that the action related only to d750. D810 did not have any shares in the service)

          • Pokemon

However, the camera was not bad. Yes, a bit ambiguous, but successful in its own way.
One of the most popular cameras for weddings in Moscow time.

        • anonym

far from all fixed, read the list of what went wrong and what didn’t.
the camera is lousy with a mediocre color (it doesn’t matter for bombs), but for wedding men Nikon simply has no other options:
d610 - amateur, d810 - landscape studio. the rest is even more expensive.
Nikon never released a full replacement for the legendary d700.
(The canon is simpler, there are 5dMk3 and 5dMk4 for the studio of landscapes 5dsr at 50mp.)

    • Eugene

Not everyone has perfect vision. Sometimes it is more convenient to see the main parameters out of the corner of your eye.
Personally, for example, on the SB910 flash, I sometimes have to look at it with a magnifying glass.

  • Valery

My Nikon d750 crashed with a mileage of 62450 frames. Lomel shutter wallowing behind the mirror. Here is the resource of 150000?

    • Pokemon

      Bring in service.
In the official Nikon service on Kurskaya, in Moscow, at the end of that year, they changed it under the guarantee to almost everyone.
Then a lot of cameras went immediately to the Avito flea market.

    • Alexander

Valery, do not confuse the estimated resource with a guaranteed resource. Nowhere, like other brands, Nikon did not guarantee work in 150 operations. This is just marketing, nothing more. And the shutters have always broken and will break at all manufacturers at different mileage, you are just out of luck.

    • anonym

Bring to the service! In May, a friend of a photographer broke the shutter on the D750, 429 frames passed, they were replaced for free in the official Nikon service in Moscow, fell under the revocable series (factory shutter marriage for this model). The camera was purchased 000 years ago.

    • Eugene

195000k - the flight is normal, falls under the revocable companies, it works and there is no time to take it to the service :)

  • Valery

Friends! My example for you to think about the quality of the D750. On the run 62645, the shutter broke, one lamella in the curtains fell off. At the service center - since the warranty has ended, the shutter replacement is paid. It cost me a lot. About 16000 rubles. Returned after 3 days. the matrix is dirty.

    • Pokemon

Because I also own the d750, I wonder how the camera was operated? At weddings? How to use it?
What do you think from what this could happen?
      Anyway, thanks for the warning.
Somehow, Nikon doesn’t care about the quality of FF cameras, recently.

      • Pokemon

As for the shutter replacements, for some reason the d750 has more complaints about them than the d600 / d610, and certainly not like the cameras with a higher class of 800/810.

  • Pokemon

    Sokolniki Park. Pavilion №2.
Dark green “grassy tint” floor. Fluorescent lamps somewhere above with different temperatures and colors.
AutoBB: Fuji X100T coped, Fuji S3 coped. Nikon D4 and Nikon D750 all turned gray-green porridge. Okay, turn off AutoBB and start manually sorting BB presets by fluorescent lamps wired into the camera. In D4, the shades are more accurate and the exposure meter works more accurately, but it is still worse than on any Fuji and green-yellow shades too much. On the D750, I went through all the presets by lamp and nothing helped. There is something remotely similar, with which then I sit and rule RAW for hours, but still not as I saw with my eyes and like Fuji.
Why does the Byzantine S3Pro somehow manage to select a BB for fluorescent lamps of different temperatures, but D4 or D750 - NO ?! Why is there constant underexposure on the D750, if not adjust the correction, but on the D4 it is always accurate?
Why does any Fuji - that Protroyka, that Healing, when they see a black large object in the center of the frame (for example, a car) do not try to lighten it and make it gray? Why, when a white large object in the center of the frame (a car, for example), both Nikons try to underexpose how not to adjust the exposure meter and turn snow-white into gray shit, but Fuji does not?
Why will the lemon yellow color stay exactly like this on Fuji, and bright blue or bright red also exactly like that, and on Nikon, whatever the BB, this is not always easy to achieve and the lighting conditions should be close to ideal? Why, knowing the peculiarity and love of “greenery”, is it impossible to “strangle” it initially or to have a preset in a chamber with strangled greenery? Well, why is Nikon so?
Post of pain, I beg your pardon - boiled.

Shot on the D610. From the light only a spotlight reflected from the floor.
Neither in Fuji, nor for anything else, I could not have removed anything there at all. I won’t say anything about Kenon, I don’t know.
Any super-expensive medium format, Sony, anything with sophisticated matrices, simply could not focus.

And so yes, in poor mixed lighting it turns out one garbage. An iPhone can be better removed.

    • Onotole

Actually I don't see any problem. Any automation (not only BB) of any camera (and not only cameras, one can say to everything technical) can be driven into conditions where it will go wrong and do not as the user would like. Some will give up a little earlier, some a little later. That is why automatic settings are the lot of beginners and lazy amateurs. For the rest, they came up with raw together with exposure compensation and WB, for those who deny the need to develop manually, there are gray cards and an item in the menu with setting WB by them (this is to talk about "a preset in a camera with smothered green").

“Why is the D750 constantly underexposing, how not to adjust the correction?” - this is an obvious malfunction, because this should not happen on a working device, the correction should affect the exposure, if you use the camera control correctly.

"Why does the lemon yellow color stay exactly like this on Fuji, and bright blue or bright red also exactly like that, and on Nikon, whatever you say BB, this is not always easy to achieve"
Because in addition to the BB, there are still a lot of parameters that can be twisted, the same Picture Controls (which, if you don't know, you can even create yourself), ADL, which, until I figured out where and how to use it correctly, ruined a lot of photos for me ...
And finally - if CRI is dumb, then no BB, PC, ADL (and even the great FUJI will be powerless) will not achieve an acceptable color. It is simply impossible to process correctly the information that simply was not there at the time of shooting. This is an axiom and does not depend on the manufacturer of cameras, matrices and lenses.

      • Pokemon

        1) The amendment affected the exposure, but it had to be selected individually for each plot, it worked. On the D4, metering was almost always accurate. I’ll torture the D750 with other lenses in order to understand this feature of the camera or you need it in the service and communicate with specialists there, because the problem is intermittent, but occasionally occurs, maybe there is a peculiarity of working with those lenses that had no problems with the d4.
        2) The picture control setting works rudely and only for a specific plot. For reporting and work at the exhibition, constant editing of the exposition and picture control is no longer work, but torture.

        • Pokemon

There is another subtle point on the d750 - the screen brightness is overwhelmed. Those. after I clicked the frame is displayed and everything seems to be exposed there correctly. You come home, and the frames are underexposed / underexposed. The screen is not bad, sharp, but the colors are slightly distorted and the brightness needs to be reduced. And that was done.

          • York

Well, you, in general, compared O_o

It is not for nothing that the propelling and soaking are still fetishes in a way, with their own fantasy sensors.
There are troubles there too, with development it is not so simple, but comparing them with an ordinary machine for shyrnarmass, such as the d750, PMSM, is not very correct.

  • Paul

Hello everyone! My D700 is dead and now it’s a tough choice, what to take ?! Of suitable for ergonomics, controls and camera class only D800 / D810. The D750 did not hold in his hand yet, but he held the D7100 and this is some kind of horror after the D700. Now is the dilemma, again look for a more or less normal D700 or still consider the D750 as an option ?! Thanks!

    • Arkady Shapoval

Touch d750 somewhere and it will be clear right away. Another option is d3s / d4

    • Vitaly N

So the case of the D750 is almost the same as that of the D7100. Can a battery grip help?

      • BB

“Almost the same”, but the 'grip' is noticeably different - the 750 has a deeper and slightly larger body

        • Michael

          Yeah. Noticeable above

    • Oleg

I used both 7100 and 750. Definitely 750 lies in the hand very conveniently, but when communicating with 7100 there was always a feeling of discomfort. Perhaps the case looks and is very similar, but felt in the hand in different ways.

Hello Arkady and the site visitors. Help advice. I have a D90, I shoot the most landscapes and city streets on travel. The D90 doesn't like noise at high ISOs. I want to take the D750 with Nikkor 24-120 / f4.
I read on your and other forums about defective batches and frequent problems with the D750 and I think whether it is possible to take it - gray with a 1 year warranty from the online store. Or just the official one. The difference is $ 350-800. I often met negative remarks about the official service on the network, so I ask for advice from those who have experience of contacting the official Nikon service in Kiev or Ukraine.
And please tell me, is it really so bad for him with color rendition. Should I take it at all?

    • Arkady Shapoval

With color, it’s certainly not worse than that of d90 :)
As for the risks - it's up to you to decide, no one will make a decision for you and will not hang responsibility on themselves. You can do with d610 for these tasks.

      • Novel

Arkady, with the color, the d750 is definitely much worse than the d90. In d90, the error in color is about 6% according to the test, in d750 it is 25%.

        • Arkady Shapoval

I would not say that 750 is worse in color than d90. Perhaps according to the test deviation and more

        • Jury

Roman, please give a link where you can see the results of these tests.

  • Jury

I do not ask to take responsibility for the choice at all, I ask you to evaluate the experience of contacting the official Nikon service. Just understand whether or not to count on it.
According to the camera, according to this resource: https://www.brendandaveyphotography.com/more/long-exposure-sensor-testing/
The D750 is much less noisy at slow shutter speeds than the D610 and the autofocus of the 750 in the dark should be better. That's important for me.

    • Novel

Do not bother with noise at high.
Matrices over the past 7 years are approximately the same in this regard, gain in high ISOs is achieved either by attenuation of color filters, or noise filters or drawn ISOs (fujas). Even bsi only gives 0.3 stop winnings.

      • Jury

Novel, my link is not about noise at high iso. She's about the noise of different cameras at minute exposures. If you are talking about it. And please explain what kind of abbreviation - bsi.

        • Michael

Back Side Illuminated - "back illumination of the matrix" - has nothing to do with minute exposures. This is about high ISO

    • Novel

      A couple more remarks.
Af at d750 is obviously and noticeably better than unpredictable at d610.
But the d750 had shots for shutter and flare.
But with the d610, the mount inside the camera is mounted on plastic, which is not the top of reliability.
Therefore, the choice is difficult, both cameras are clearly not the best with what Nikon did.
If you were considering changing the system, I would recommend Kenon 6d with excellent color, excellent high ISO, and a very reliable center point af, its price is now more than adequate.

      • Arkady Shapoval

I would take the d610 and not be fooled, on the d610 I shot a couple of months, not the ultimate dream, but everything is worthy, especially for the money that is being sold now, especially used The D750 is already swinging at something serious, but it is not particularly so.

        • Jury

I don't want to leave Nikon, I'm used to it already. Although in my life I shot on completely different devices on Kiev 30 with a frame of 13 × 17 mm on Zenit TTL on Kiev 88 on Moscow 5 with a frame of 60 × 90 mm and film Minolta, on digital compacts from different manufacturers. But with age you become more conservative or something. I rarely change the technique, I want to choose the optimal one in terms of parameters and price, so that at least 5 years I don't think about replacement.
Arkady, I see you are completely chilled to d750. Then maybe look at the D810. Although probably the d810 with 24-120 / F4 will not be the best pair, but 24-70 / f2,8 is already a good search for the price.
Arkady, I also wanted to tell you as the owner of the site. Yesterday I tried to send messages to this thread from Android devices 4 and 10 through chrome, they leave me and the site is not visible.

          • Arkady Shapoval

            ok, take a look

          • BB

D750 is a normal, relatively balanced device. After the D7100, I looked at 850/810. The first one is confused by the number of MPs (file weight + shake), the second one also has enough nuances. He stopped at D750, 24-120 / 4 in the near future. AF is very, very happy. So far, I am satisfied, although I shot a little more with it (≈10k in total).

            • Oleg

I went through the Nikon DSLRs almost the same as you. D5100, D7100, D300s and now D750. All are excellent devices, except that the 7100 somehow did not come in - overloaded with megapixels, colors ... I was tortured to pull out the color in the converter as I saw it, and the camera was corny uncomfortably in my hand. But I really liked the 300s, it would have more DD and higher working ISO =). I'm just starting to get used to the D750, paired with 50 1.4G. So far, I don’t see any shortcomings, a good camera, excellent, as for me, color rendition, crazy dynamic range. I'm also going to buy an ND filter for half a month, and since. 1/4000 on a sunny day in the open is small. And I really like the drawing of this fifty dollars on the open one.

              • BB

At 7100, almost the only significant drawback for me is the small frame buffer. Sometimes it's very annoying when you shoot a dynamic event in RAW, you press a button, and the buffer is full ...

  • Alexander

Hello! I looked closely at the D750 for six months. I reviewed about six or seven carcasses - all with some jambs. That mileage is 40 thousand, but it looks like 500, which clearly indicates the editing of the mileage when replacing the matrix.
2 pcs. were with a non-working screwdriver. One with a completely erased number (question - why?)
One with unregulated front focus (not enough 20 points for adjustment)
Also, the picture wants to be the best for the money. Several authors have already written about this above.
    In general, changed my mind.

    • Pokemon

To be honest, I also regret that I hurried and took the d750. It is true that there are many “muddy” d750s. Many cameras with replaced shutters. This is a popular camera for weddings and corporate parties. Used d750 should be taken carefully and carefully. IMHO, d810 or d850 if you have money, it might be a better choice.

      • Peter

Yes, buy a new one, they are not so expensive now. And the fact that "weddings" use it is + to the camera, it means it is convenient to work

    • York

      D810.
More expensive, more specific - d850.

They are not so expensive right now.

  • Kirill

But does anyone have raw Video files with d750? please drop if there is (possibly 50P) I want to understand how he has with the video

  • Valentine

    - A couple of questions about the comparison with the D700 ...
    1. Is compatibility with Nikor Ai lenses the same? ..
    2. How is it now with the connection of flashes through a sync cable, as was the case with all pro and semi-pro Nikonov from D200 - D700 ... D2-D5 ... in the absence of a socket? Is there a hot shoe adapter? Is there a voltage limit on the flash contacts? ..
    D700 allowed ~ 200v ...
    Thank you for your reply.

    • Michael

      1. Yes, the former. This is also visible in the photo (rheostat foot)
      2. Connecting flashes and other external things like on amateur cameras

  • Pokemon

I do not like how the exposure meter works on the D750.
On D4, its logic is generally predictable and you know what to expect.
On D750 with non-native lenses sometimes it is simply “obscene”.
On D4, the rear screen more accurately transfers the shot. On D750 it can meanly lie (and it is lying!).
With the D750 you sit longer on the shot material than on the photos with the D4.
There is no such thing as on Proyatka / Protroyka - everything is perfect in terms of colors, exposure and skin tone - the eye rejoices.
Yes, NEF at lower ISOs is more rubber than at D4.
Therefore, as D760 / D770 comes out, I’ll carry this deshmanic miracle in the storehouse to hucksters (almost) from the D7000 with the FF matrix, I’ll erase it for money, but at least I will know why.
If the novelty is also crap, I'll go broke for the D850, although I didn't want to, and there are no glasses for this permission.
