Nikon D750 review

According provided by Nikon D750 camera many thanks to Alexander Logachev.

For those who do not like to read a lot: Nikon D750 was announced on 11.09.2014/XNUMX/XNUMX and so far is Nikon's best amateur CZK. That's all :)

Nikon D750

Nikon D750 BODY

All tabular data can be found on the official website, I don’t want to retell the same parameters once again that wander from one review to another. In this mini-review, I will only leave my own impressions of using the Nikon D750.

I want to warn you that on the official sites nikon.ru, nikon.ua, nikon.kz and even europe-nikon.com, the Nikon D750 is located in the section 'Professional SLR Digital Cameras' (proof image). This information is not true and is a marketing ploy. Or maybe the world just went crazy and the level of 'professional equipment' fell below the plinth.

Unfortunately, my favorite site imaging.nikon.com, although it remains more honest, nevertheless went along the paths indicated by the marketers and deleted the professional / amateur equipment separation directories, leaving only one large list (proof link) Even the vile Pedivikia puts the D750 on a par with D700 (proof link) At the same time, the fact that the Nikon D750 is still an amateur camera (ENTHUSIAST DSLR) can be easily verified on nikonusa.com (proof link) Sneaky marketers generally try to pass off the D750 as the first camera in some new weight category, even adding it to the Nikon NPS lists.

I lead to the fact that sometimes, when choosing a camera, users are guided not only by its capabilities, but also by positioning in a certain segment. Do not follow the lead of marketers, be vigilant!

Nikon D750 - something in between Nikon D610 и Nikon D810... Unfortunately, Nikon D750 is not a direct replacement for the legendary old lady Nikon D700... When Nikon D750 came out, I was very upset that everything in Nikon D750 is very cool, but all this 'beauty' is housed in a body with amateur controls.

Personally, I absolutely love the Nikon D750. To the question 'Is it worth changing Nikon D700 on the new Nikon D750 'I can definitely answer - it's worth it.

At the same time, Nikon D750 still cannot reach some of the heights conquered by the 'XNUMX':

  • D700 It has a full metal case, the D750 has a composite case, with a composite front.
  • Minimal excerpt у D700 is 1/8000 sec. against 1/4000 sec. the D750. This difference is often sucked around on the forums, in fact, for real work it has no fundamental value, you will find details on this issue in my article '1 / 4000 vs 1 / 8000'.
  • excerpt flash sync D700 makes 1/320 sec., against 1/250 sec. at the D750.
  • Nikon D700 has a protective eyepiece shutter (what is she for?).
  • the maximum burst speed for the D700 is 8 fps versus 6.5 fps for the D750. This is critical for sequential shooting.
  • The D700 can use the MB-D10 butlock with the optional BL-3 cover, which allows the use of large and very capacious EN-EL4 or EN-EL4a batteries from flagship cameras Nikon D3, D3s, D3x, which significantly increases the number of shots taken on a single battery. Nikon D750 can only use standard EN-EL15 batteries in its butblock.
  • The D700 can use uncompressed RAW files with full raw data read from the camera's image sensor. The D750 can only use Lossless RAW format for maximum photo quality. Both cameras can use 14-bit color depth. What is it and what it is eaten with you will find in the section '12 bit raw VS 14 bit raw'.
  • with the same RAW compression settings (14 bit, lossless compression), the Nikon D700 buffer stores 17 frames, the Nikon D750 buffer only 12 frames.
  • Nikon D700 can shoot in TIFF format.
  • viewfinder magnification Nikon D700 is 0.72X versus 0.70X for Nikon D750. Although, at the same time, the D750 has 100% frame coverage, compared to 95% for the D700.
  • The D700 uses a professional memory card form factor - CF, D750 – SD (SDHC, SDXC). But at the same time, the D750 has two memory card slots.

In all other respects, the Nikon D750 is either better or at the same level as the Nikon D700.

I would also like to dwell on the focus module. Nikon D750 first uses focus module Advanced Multi-CAM 3500FX II, which, at least theoretically, is better than all its predecessors. The operating range of this module is from -3 to +19 EV. At the same time, D4,D4s, D800,D800E, D810, D810a operating range is -2 to +19 EV A good focusing module was severely lacking in cameras Nikon D600, D610 and Nikon Df. On the other hand, it's a pity that Nikon has not yet come up with a really new focusing system and continues to build all its sensors based on the Multi-CAM 3500FX, shown back in 2007.

Working with the D750, I had no complaints about the focusing system. I can't say for sure how much better it is than that of the Nikon D700, but what's no worse is for sure. But when working, it seems that the coverage area of the focus points is slightly reduced compared to the D700.

I was also very pleased that at last “Father Nikon” heard the prayers of his followers and improved the color rendering. Now, an acceptable color in JPEG with the D750 can be obtained immediately, without strong dances with a tambourine. But if you dig into RAW with non-native converters, then everything becomes not so rosy :(. Generally, many people do not like the color in Nikon D750 pictures, especially skin tone (skin color in portraits). Color has its own specifics, which is superimposed on many rumors and myths.

Prices for Nikon D750 in popular stores can look at this link.

Prices for modern Nikon cameras in popular stores can look at this link.

In comments Can I ask you a question on the topic and you will answer, and you can also express your opinion or describe your experience. Many little things for a photo can be found on AliExpress.

You can download RAW source files at this link (71 files in .'NEF 'format, 2 GB) + at this link (40 file in .'NEF 'format, 1 GB). All photos were shot with Nikon D750. All photos in this gallery are on-camera JPEG without processing. Then I'll add more examples.

When working with the camera, which I visited in the review, I did not find problems with glare, which are a kind of failure in the Nikon D750. But still it’s very disappointing that after the unsuccessful Nikon D600 the company again launched a raw product on the market, fortunately, if there is such a drawback in the D750, then it can be eliminated free of charge (proof link).

The bottom line:

Nikon D750 turned out to be a very nice camera, almost completely balanced camera, which was very important after a long absence of replacement for the D700. I can't say the D750 is a complete replacement for the Nikon D700, but the D750 itself is a very attractive camera.

If don't know which camera and lens to choose, then my article will help with this - Which Nikon amateur DSLR camera and lens to choose?

  • Ullar

The other day I burned CF from my D700. The second one was not at hand, so I had to shoot for a couple of days on someone else's D5200 - a good device, no complaints, and the quality of the photo did not suffer at all, but (!), When they brought me a spare CF-ku, and I started shooting the D700 again - here- then I realized how much more convenient, predictable, more responsive it is - in a word - a high-quality working tool versus an “amateur screwdriver set” - that's the difference between them.

    • Valery A.

I think comparing Prof. FA with a slightly advanced amateur is obviously incorrect. It is necessary to take type D300 or 7x00.

  • Peter Sh.

As for the better FF, and why one lens is five times more expensive than another one.

All value is evidently shown in the work at the limit of the capabilities of technology and optics. Under standard conditions, with good light and a fixed object, with unlimited time, there is no difference at all.

To me personally, the D610 is needed for shooting in a bad light, with a constantly changing angle, an object jumping to and fro, when there is no time to configure the camera at all. Also for creative shooting at dusk.

In all other cases, I perfectly manage the D70s and D200.

    • Andrey Kuznetsov

      Agree

    • Vladimir Sychev, Penza

This is the correct comment. FF is needed only for difficult shooting conditions, in other cases it is possible to manage with a smartphone (the pictures given here would definitely be no worse)

      • Andrey Kuznetsov

On a smartphone, it’s almost impossible to highlight the main thing in the frame due to the depth of field

    • Sergey US6IBD

I will support this judgment. After all, devices are often compared under favorable shooting conditions. And in these conditions - even if not every smartphone, and not every “soap box” - give a good result. Moreover, most ordinary people do not see the difference between a photo from a “soap dish” and from a “DSLR”. It comes to the point that people, on the contrary, criticize portraits with a blurred background. Like - what the hell, I shoot with a mobile phone and I can clearly see everything to the horizon in my photo ... The DxOMark website provides a comparison of cameras according to the working ISO (and not only). A very important characteristic. High working ISO expands the possibilities of the photographer when working indoors, on a cloudy day, in the evening. Allows you to shoot moving subjects at faster shutter speeds. On the Nikon D80, I rarely shoot with ISO above 200, and on the D610, I calmly use ISO 2000.

  • Vladimir Sychev, Penza

In general, gentlemen, this is what I want to say (my conviction and practice). Shoot in RAW, and LEARN TO PROPERLY PROCESS FILES.

    • Arkady Shapoval

      :)

    • Andrey Kuznetsov

And my conviction should be at the time of shooting more attention to building a frame with both technical and artistic. and to minimize post-processing. (I’ve personally sat up at the computer and want to take pictures and not process them) I give an example of a photo of the D7000 on-camera jeep, what’s there to do in the Rav converter? Photo due to light from an external flash is initially not flat, it has a volume that is almost impossible or very difficult to achieve with post-processing. There is a skin of flaws specially laid out such as the right hand, it was necessary to ask to turn the little finger at the camera, the person looking directly into the frame, it was necessary to turn slightly, the nose should be highlighted with tonal powder, etc. all this must be done at the time of shooting. Getting a technically correct image is much easier than an artistic one.

      • Alexander

And if there would be more attention to the birch and not to the photographer. And why is everyone standing in front, not near, or a little behind?

      • Contemporary

Hello Andrei. Your examples show that you are not paying any attention to * frame * at all. Post processing is needed to personalize the work, and bring the photo into a * technical * order. Be careful with flash - this is the scourge of all photographers - xenon flare (cold), which is not always appropriate. And this photo does not stand out at all. And it's not just the position of the model's hands.

        • Andrey Kuznetsov

I cited this photo as an example in order to show with the correct camera setup it is very easy to get a technically correct image even on an outdated camera. You have to learn to build a frame to have ideas and ideas, but the technique is simple, and many “photographers” turn into photo shooters, paying attention only to the technique

          • Alexey

a lot of people are now working with stock photos.
on stocks, or rather on popular stocks, pictures with technical problems are simply not accepted - special attention to soap, resolution and color.
often it’s simply impossible to get the required quality on old rubbish and old soap lenses.
no one has canceled the requirements for the composition.

        • Andrey Kuznetsov

By the way, Korolev said, offer criticism! Why not show your photos. If you read above how the discussion developed, at the beginning many wrote that Nikon had terrible Skinton flashes And so on I showed the on-camera jeep I did not say that these were masterpieces and did not publish my best and most processed photos

          • Andrey Kuznetsov

Most of the photos I published are portraits that impose certain conditions. Photographing flowers is much easier

    • Lynx

mmdy ... "only the one who shoots as a rave is a real prafiisianal !! 111")))

      • Jury

And the one who takes off in jeep, who? )))

        • Lynx

          that one is Lynx!

          • Jury

Well, so you have some nice food with a beautiful jeep)

            • Lynx

By dragging it, it’s logical to shoot immediately in a jeep because:
              1. Rav of propyatka in the same lightrum does not differ from a jeep in anything special (except for the size of 5 and 25 mb), this is not "Nikon's rubber band" for you.
              2. Most of the progs that work correctly with the propyatkovsky rav are still hemorrhoids and whistles, and the jeep is good for lightroom.
              3. Whistles with processing, I now almost never bother.
              4. The hedgehog jeep also has its pitfalls, unfortunately, and white balance is a separate art.
              5. We drag on Nikons and I have had occasion to shoot mostly in Jeepgs, with the exception of extremely rare cases. Bo's weight is noticeably less, and I usually don't do anything so outrageous “mega processing from the best wedding photographs of the city of maskwa !!!” that would require a rabbi.

              • Jury

What I mean is that not every camera produces a usable JPEG. And it's more convenient for me to shoot everything in RAW + JPEG, so that later the less successful frames can be tightened up-corrected in RAW and exported to JPEG, with normal ones - not bother at all. But the most important thing is to remove all RAWs except for the selected ones, so as not to waste space.

          • anonym

            5 points!

  • Alexander

Good evening, today I purchased the d750 presented in this review and faced with this problem, autofocus does not work with the Nikon 80-200 mk4. I thought something happened to the motor, but when I installed this lens on the nickname d3100 carcass, it worked absolutely without problems. I decided that something was with the carcass, then I connected the 750ku with the sigma 50-500 (there is also a built-in motor), there were no problems, everything works. Maybe someone faced such a problem, maybe they are incompatible? but how can this be?

    • Peter Sh.

Evil spirit, apparently instilled in the lens. Or to the camera.
It is necessary, however, to dance with a tambourine.

But first, wipe the entire lens with alcohol, and put it on and off a couple of times with the D750.

    • Lynx

Call the official service center, there may be a problem in the firmware.

    • Andrey Kuznetsov

Must be compatible, you need to determine whether this is a glitch of the camera or lens. You can go to the store where you bought the camera to explain the situation and ask to check the camera with other lenses, if at least one more thing happens then ask to exchange the camera for a new one. I did not sign an exchange or exchange or refund of money

  • Alexander

Yes, I just didn’t do it, no hints at all, but as soon as I cling to the d3100, it works without problems !! ???

  • Alexander

Yes, still, it doesn’t give errors, focusing with the help of the hands AF confirmation works, and the motor sleeps ..

  • Peter Sh.

Go with the D750 to where you can put various AF-S lenses on it, in a photo store, for example. Or from familiar photographers.
It is necessary to determine exactly what does not work on it yet.

  • Volodimir K.

Rejoice, more beautifully than the nikon D750 chi nikon Df (for the sake of the stench, they were practically trained). I photograph for myself that on the roads. Infecting Mayu nikon D7000 ta nskon 10-24, 85 f1.8, 35 f2.0. Dyakuyu!

    • anonym

      Dry

    • Konstantin

It’s more beautiful to buy sb-700 sleeves and the optics set is normal for you, and with your hands you can blow the garne !!! put the whole camera in your head! don’t get involved in race racing, you have everything є!

  • Denis is an experienced stocker.

Vf do not forget that for fF cameras including 750, lenses are important, put an expensive N-series Nikon lens on it and the difference will be obvious. Budget trash optics for crop and amateurs.

  • Valery

And on the nikon d750 the screen is glass or plastic, will it be necessary to glue the film or not.?

    • BB

I would have glued the protective film anyway. Most likely plastic.

    • Valery

      users respond

      • anonym

        glass of course

  • Andrey Kuznetsov

I don’t know glass or plastic, I never glued film to the screens

  • Anatoly

Tell me, please, is there a setting of the OK button in the D750 for viewing in 100%?

    • Nikita

Thanks! I also wondered with this thought))

    • Vladimir

      Yes, by default

  • Andrey Kuznetsov

    There is

    • Nikita

      Thank you!

  • Ivan

I can’t say that the camera is professional, but I won’t put it in a row with amateur cameras either. A camera, a kind of universal workhorse. She can safely remove everything and everything in any conditions. Also, the article does not mention that a separate video mode was finally crammed into the camera with a bunch of settings and the ability to change settings already during shooting. Of course, the strong castration of the camera upset, compared with the d810, and a lot of bugs and marriage with the camera in the early stages.

    • Alexey

even if you forget (or score?) the marriage and the jambs in it, the camera cannot be professional with a shutter speed of 1/4000.
this castration completely cuts off the ability to work with high-aperture lenses on an open hole 1.8-2.2 in conditions of sufficient lighting without a dimming filter.
for lovers it doesn’t matter, for pros, time is money.
why did nikon do this? no one can clearly explain.

      • Vladimir

And in it you can force ISO 50, that's the solution to the problem

    • Lynx

      Yes.

  • Vasily the Almighty

yeah - better read the reviews of the HAPPY guys!

I was simply forced to change the 700th, which died in the Maldives in an unequal battle with sea water (buried with honors), to the 750th.
I can’t say that I picked it up and everything is familiar. No! This is not the 700th. This is another story.
I can’t say yet that everything is in pluses. Still, the 700th stuck to hands and eyes.
But the device simply killed with some kind of crazy rate of fire. Everything catches without hesitation.
The picture quality is excellent. I won't say anything here. Passed the first test - three weeks in the Seychelles in conjunction with a nikon 28-70mm 2.8. A very interesting pair turned out.
Honestly, I had to master everything I find. He carried the manual in his pocket. Somehow everything is screwed up there. With buttons - too. After 700, my fingers had to be reconfigured. But I gradually get used to it.
By the way, many thanks to the message “Alexander 04.09.2015/19/38 at 28:70”. I've had the same mess from time to time with the nikon 2.8-70mm 210. My hands dropped straight. That is, autofocus, then no. The second glass was taken by Tamron SP AF 2.8-28 mm f / 70. I cling - twists so that the tube bounces in my hands. I change to 1.02-XNUMX - it turns, then - no. I played with switches, sinned on poor contact on the bayonet. I cleaned, wiped, blew away the dust. All with varying degrees of success. And today I went back to this page ... The result is as follows. I urgently reflashed it to XNUMX! And everything worked right away !!!
And more about the 750th. By chance, he stayed aboard the boat when we crossed over to the island. I was afraid to take it with me, because it was necessary to unload in a good surf. Then I spent two hours in shock because it was raining. The bag was under a canopy, from the very edge. The device lay with the display up and the lens down. When we got back to the boat, I pulled out the poor fellow. Water flowed from him down the lens. He took out the battery and wiped it dry. Shook - nothing splashes, does not flow. Put in the battery - it's working, poor fellow! So, in terms of protection, the 750th passed the test.
Of all the disputes, I can say that it is not the camera that really removes it, but the person. What’s in his head will come out in the photo. There are lovers who do pros if they have an artist living in their souls. And there are thousands of such cases. In general, everything is now decided by Photoshop. Just as one master said, if it takes more than five minutes to process a frame, it needs to be deleted.

    • Alexey

"Just as one master said, if it takes more than five minutes to process a frame, it must be deleted."
      =================================
why suddenly? you open the file in D750 in ravdiger - handsome? By default, the carcass is already doing file processing. in many cases this is not enough. in many cases all the conditions are missing. according to your logic, if a drawing with a pencil or caricature in gouache is done in 5 minutes, then all the pictures that were drawn longer should be thrown out? ))))
Here's a quick example - filmed in difficult conditions, a lot of people, processing for more than 5 minutes, soaking:
      https://fotki.yandex.ru/next/users/vmirefoto-blogspot/album/368662/view/1952463

"So the 750 passed the defense test."
      ==================================
recessed / wetted chambers often work normally after drying. Corrosion results will be visible in 1-2 years.

“About all the disputes, I can say that it is not a camera that really takes pictures, but a person. What is in his head will come out in the photo. "
      ===================================
the operation is done by a person and not a scalpel. but let this very man try to do the operation with a kitchen knife and not with a scalpel))))

“And in general everything is now decided by photoshop. "
      ====================================
Photoshop - post-processing - solves a lot, but not everything. in fact, the camera has been doing primary post-processing for a long time even in RAV)))

      • Andrey Kuznetsov

I will say more the photo is a reflection of the photographer - if the photographer is angry, then the photos will be evil - if sexually preoccupied, then the photos are appropriate - if technically unsophisticated, then the photo is rubbish with technical flaws

      • Vladimir

Very nice photo, the eye was delighted.

  • Andrei

    Good afternoon!
Does the 750go have autofocus in the video shooting video, or do you need to twist it by hand?

  • VASYL

A device with a lot of defects! of course, putting him next to the pros is at least just stupid! terrible skin tones - which do not rule in lightroom !!!

  • VASYL

    and terrible management!

  • Alexander

Hello! Yesterday I bought a D750! Sorry, I do not want to offend anyone - just thoughts out loud! I am a photographer! I don’t earn money from photography! I had cameras for about five years - D3100 D5100 D300S D5300 D7100 - all these cameras were for me in their time is good in their own way. But I really wanted a full frame and preferably with good stuffing. All cameras (like my cars I bought only new ones, because I think that technology, like your beloved woman, should be in the same hands. although not always so it happens, but I would like to believe it!) At the moment, the D700 is well-outdated (that's why I don't like retro cars). After the D300s and D7100, the D600 and D610 were not very impressive to switch to FF (everything is somehow rather weak and there are a lot of jambs) Maybe the D810 would be good - but why should I? Well, the top echelon of D3,4 is for the professors of this business! In the bottom line, today the D750 is a good option! Now, about the notorious buttons - I personally don't care where and how they sit - the main control is about the same everywhere, but you can always get used to the additional options - INTERNAL FILLING - that's what matters, the rest is secondary! After all, you are sitting in another car (from Audi A6 2003 in any for one and a half lyama 2015-16g. release) do not shout, oh this ga.no! the buttons there are a little different than mine! But don’t say a word that the steering wheel lever turns everything in its place! This is a lyrical comparison of the D700 and D750! Agree - anyone would change this Audi for a new car for 1,5 lemma (put the brand to your taste!). The main reasons - the mileage is outdated, and progress does not stand still! There would be a good video in the D700 - no one would he said why the D750 has a rotary screen! But there is no such screen in the XNUMX - it means that this is an extra pribluda! Now wi-fi - I can't believe that you are all sitting on the push-button advanced retro nokia N-96! Something tells me - no! we have good mobile phones - with Wi-Fi - how can we do without it! Well, the most important thing is 4000 and not 8000 !!! How many times a year in percentage terms do you include an exposure of 8000? 90% to 10%? but I already had a 2mm ND400-77, a different diameter will be needed - no problem! Autofocus in the D750 is just a beast! Believe me, I had a D300S, but unlike it, the new camera is still a beast in the dark! About ISO - I'll post a photo below! In general, guys, let's summarize - before driving a blizzard and sitting for days on the site and talking about your coolness and concept in the photo business - it's better to take the D750 and just shoot with it! I live in Krasnodar and I know that wedding bombiles (not all of them, of course), those that are not on the Boot, have already changed the D700 for the D750! But in reality there is nothing else for it, because taxi drivers do not fly on airliners! And they should not be the commanders of an airship. Because there is different equipment and other professional aptitude! Because for me the word professional means more capacious than walking to weddings in the regional registry office! For me, the concept of a professional is to be: on the edge of the crater of an active volcano, up to swamp on the equator, northern lights in the tundra of Yakutia at -50, Storm, Hurricane, under the ass of a shark, on the front line during hostilities ... and when you watch these WORKS, you just wonder - is it really possible! ... .. I didn't want to offend anyone - I'm just tired of the chatter! In fact, no one said anything worthwhile about the D750 except for Arkady and several owners of this device! Special respect to Arkady! I am learning to take pictures on his website and his website is the best one for amateurs, because he did it PROFESSIONALLY! Unlike other professionals, he still finds his own little free time to teach people - and that was always honorable !… .And lastly, ISO on D750 - shot in full twilight, no light in the kitchen, the sky is cloudy, in general, a complete kick!

    • Alexey

Alexander, I almost completely agree with your review.
      some refinements

"Because for me the word professional means something more capacious than walking to weddings in the regional registry office! For me the concept of a professional"
      ========================
Prof is the one who makes money with photography.
if the main income is not a photo, it is an amateur. beginner, advanced, experienced, etc.
The professional takes and gives out the quality of the pictures not just what he wants, but what the market requires.
      lover is what he wants.

“Lastly, ISO on D750 - shot in full twilight, no lights in the kitchen, the sky is cloudy, in general, a complete kick! no flash! lens nikon 85mm f1.8 - shutter speed 1/6 aperture 2,8 Iso-3200 "

What should this photo show except for the incorrect BB?

      otherwise you are right.
The D750 is a great AMATEUR camera. (if you do not take into account the jambs with exposure)
The negative is due to the fact that the Nikonists were waiting for the replacement of the D700 professional camera and never received it. An upgrade (IMHO!) from D700 to D750 is more than justified, but at the same time you not only get buns but also lose a lot.

Nikonists never received a replacement for the D700. Nikon has no analogue professional camera Kenon 5DMk3.
Kenon has no analogue of the amateur advanced camera D750))).

  • Alexander

Yes, I forgot to say - photo without processing jeep

    • Alexey

Well here is an example of Kenon 5DMk3, there is no puff, ISO 12800
      lenses 16-35 / 4 IS L

      • Alex

Also an example ...) prehistoric Panasonic Lumix FZ8, shutter speed 1/8, F2.8, handheld shooting))

        • Alexey

make a normal size, remove the darkness and compare :)
the darker the less generally visible in the picture, the smaller the picture the better the noise is masked. reduce to 200 pixels and get a super picture even on a smartphone :)))

        • Alexey

ISO 400 of your Panasonic Lumix FZ8 is almost equal to ISO 12800 for Mark 3 ...
quite good for a prehistoric camera!

      • Alex

        The same merciless mirrorless crop FZ8) 1/3, F10 ...

        • Alexey

how can I explain to you….
for comparison, you need to set the same shutter speed and align the exposure.
          Compare shots of comparable size.
your picture confirms an obvious fact - ISO 200 at FZ8 is somewhere in quality at the level of ISO 12800 at Mark 3. physics, matrix dimensions)))))))

    • Alexander

Alexei! I will repeat once again - I do not want to offend anyone, this is my personal vision of professionalism! And the personal one can sometimes differ from the generally recognized! I correctly said about the BOMB - there are just too many of them! Sites are inundated with ads like - I'll take everything off! And this "EVERYTHING TO SHOOT" still has to shoot and shoot, so that he has something to see sensible at the exit! That is why now, so to speak, in a mass photo business, i.e. for the people, real professionals are greatly blurred by "artisans" of regional scales running around with a DSLR and those who think that they are professionals - after all, they are paid for it! The artist does not have two identical paintings! They are all different A real PRO for every wedding photo shoot individually (staged script) - not like everyone else! but the bombila or the artisan beats everything according to the same pattern! It’s easier and you’ll earn more money! And from friends or relatives you look at the wedding photos - and they are all the same, only the faces are different! ………………………………………………………
Alexei! BB did not expose, the carcass was right out of the box and the first shots - I really wanted to check it for ISO and focus in darkness (really in darkness!). High ISO working! Trick in the dark - gorgeous, that's all!

      • Alexey

        Alexander,
there are definitions known since the time of Tom Sawyer. Remember when he painted the fence? )))
Understand a simple thing - bombila gives out the quality for which the customer is willing to pay and which the CUSTOMER is satisfied with.
How do you know that Bombila is not able to get and process the image better? But! Consider the time and money spent - what will be the price of the picture? A good lens starts at $ 2000. When will it pay off? Where will the bombed money for life come from?
Here is your answer - if the market in Ukraine needs a very low price of a photo, and the average quality suits them, then the bomb will give out what the buyer needs - cheap and cheerful.

"The artist does not have two identical paintings!"
        =======================================
of course there is. Do you know the artist Aivazovsky? ))) his paintings were in-line production and for the most part they were not even drawn by him))) like many others. Michelangelo, Da Vinci - they carried out orders and did what the customer wanted.

"It's easier this way and you will earn more dough!"
        =======================================
in general, the point of the pros work is to make more money. )

“And when you see your friends or relatives' photos of the wedding - and they are all the same, only the faces are different! …………………………………………………………”
        =========================================
I recommend rereading Nosov's book "The Adventures of Dunno". The template work for creating portraits is perfectly shown there)
The artist has nothing to do with it - the demand of the market! )

here's an example of non-template weddings
        http://stelmakh.com/svad-ba-natal-i-i-aleksandra/
        http://stelmakh.com/turetskie-skazki/
are many people able to pay the price of such a photo shoot?
so maybe they shouldn’t take photos at all for the wedding if there is little money

"Trick in the dark - gorgeous"
        =================================
same as other cameras with this AF module. AF light helps a lot.

        "High ISO working!"
        =================================
like any other camera with the same matrix.

        • Andrey Kuznetsov

Often, customers themselves do not want to get the highest quality photos, you offer them - now the winter weather is unpredictable, let's devote one hour from 5 hours of walking to shooting in the studio there are wonderful scenery there is wonderful light - it will do just fine for us. Then, on the wedding day, the wind snow from 5 o'clock actually shoot forty can in several stages - the hair stands on end from the wind, the noses are blue from the cold. It happens in general tough - one groom said oh, I forgot to shave, well, delete it in Photoshop.

          • Andrey Kuznetsov

And do not confuse photos and paintings are different genres. I also delete photos that I can’t process in 5 minutes. If you work on this photo for several hours, it’s not a photo

          • Vladimir Aivazovsky

I completely agree with A. Kuznetsov, there were exactly the same situations in winter, and the bride was without a cape and her shoulders were open (-10). After the shooting, one groom asked, “Well, it's not difficult for you to make two eyes the same, my left one is smaller and my eyes are ticking ?!” I said nothing.

          "Not template" in what?

        • KalekseyG

these are not stereotyped weddings, a concrete example of how not to shoot: BB, composition, inappropriate software in places, and generally does not fascinate. And the money spent ... ... ..

        • anonym

the stelmakh has a lot of low-quality and unfinished photoshop, an incomprehensible plot (the newlyweds on a machine in the background of a Buddhist temple), well, such shoals slip through ...

          • Caa

Photo of the bride without a head !!!

  • VASYL

walk around the photo and nikonr, go to the flea market there is a massive d750 reset, read the truthful responses of the lucky ones in the thread (some really prefer to be silent - so as not to look stupid)
D750 is a specific divorce from Nikon!
successfully trade and advertise the d750 - knowing ahead of time about specific jambs (flare, shutter (these 2 jambs were recognized by Nikon officer), autobb and jambs with electronics (they will soon recognize))
I personally held it in my hands and tried to make friends with the d750 (I took it from a friend) - I really didn’t like the device - the work of the auto bb is terrible, maybe someone shoots still lifes or landscapes and will go ... but for those who shoot people, it will not work - terrible skin tones! I am a photographer in the region of the registry office and take pictures of people and earn this for my bread, and not a PROFESSIONAL like some here with a sick doubt!
I didn't like it from the first minutes - even to the touch - cheap - like in a shovel car - cheap plastic

    • Alexey

Well, not everything is so bad))), IMHO
I would say so - Kenon 6D and 5DMk3 provide significantly more accurate auto WB and exposure metering. and no problems with development in any editor.
as far as color is concerned, already in many branches, the branches D600 / D610 and D750 are used as examples of branches with a huge number of frankly slagy, unsuccessful photos.
it's hard for me to say what is the reason. whether the BB auto curve and incorrect development, or the merit of the matrix and strapping, or all together, including unsuccessful processing? I do not know.
the bottom line is the excellent data on paper, the records in the DRL tests (with which Nikon has a long and close friendship!) and for some reason everything is sad in life. castration by nikon, marriage, jambs with quality, problems with color.

      • Andrii

And then this cat floods. Oh, and he is a bastard. When will you smile then?

  • R'RёS,R ° F "RёR№

Guys, I decided to go to FF (now Fuji S5 Pro) I am suffering with a choice between the new D750 and the used D3S or D3X with minimum mileage. I understand that cameras are from different eras and different levels, but still ... I consider the presence of video, wi-fi, a rotary screen only as additional, but not at all obligatory little things. Help with the choice! The final result from the photo is interesting, the accuracy of the auto BB, skin tone (fujik gives out very well even in a Jepeg!), Ease of use. In Fuja, only the inability to shoot at high ISO is not satisfied, and sometimes megapixels are not enough. The camera is more for home use, less often for commercial purposes when asked by acquaintance. Help!

PS Arkady thank you so much for this resource!

    • anonym

Vitaly, with a question you have come to the wrong address. After all, most local advisers take photographs on the couch with a tablet / laptop / mobile phone, spending time on the forums (they draw all their experience from there). It’s regrettable, but a fact

    • Dmitriy

Vitaly, the choice between slightly different cameras is underway. From price to focus. D3S is a reportage camera. A sort of extended version of the D700. D3X is a studio camera (conventionally) aimed at those who shoot in close to ideal conditions. When high ISOs and high frame rates are not required. These cameras are in average condition like the new 750th. The cameras are excellent, but here you have to pay for the “pleasure” of carrying around 1,5 kg of weight without a lot, the impossibility of putting it into a photo bag of an acceptable size and the shutter resource, which is not realistic to click, if you do not shoot a 1000-frame session a couple of times a week: )
On D3X I shoot once a month for sure. After him, I don’t feel like taking something else in my hands. But do you really need it? :)

    • Lynx

Personally, after the "soak" I could not stop at any of the modern Nikons. Although, maybe D4.

      • Dmitriy

Hochma is that we need all this, and not those who pay for our work :)

        • Lynx

and this has something to do with it? the conversation was initially about “what does a photographer need”, what have the customers to do with it?

          • Dmitriy

            I said this

    • Gregory

      Take 750. Compare ISO workers.

  • VASYL

if you want to play Russian roulette - take d750

    • Alexey

Hey. Why such an opinion? I want to purchase, read the opinions of others and reviews.

  • Serge

Good afternoon, Arkady! In your article, nothing is said about: “The auxiliary screen has become less informative. It no longer displays white balance icons, focus type, focus area and point, shooting format (RAW, JPEG, and so on). All this information is now available only from the quick menu on the main screen. Formally, this slightly lowers the class of the camera. Nikon has taken a similar approach for the D7200's top screen. Is it true (I'm talking about D750 and D7200) ??

    • Lynx

well, the d750 and d7200 are amateur cameras, essno their class is lower than that of the d700 / d300 and others.

      • Yarkiya

It seems to me that 7200 is quite a reporter’s camera, no worse than three hundred.

      • Serge

well, d7000 and d7100 and d610 are also amateur cameras, and it is not "essno" why they have everything in order with the functionality of the auxiliary screen, no worse than the D700 / d300

        • Lynx

and they’re fortunate to have this feature enabled. As, for example, when the metering was turned on for lenses without a chip, after the D90.

          • Andrei

but here if you can in more detail. that is, the metering works without a chip, is it not needed at the current light flux and dandelion sorry Lushnikov? or will dandelion work better than a Nikon exposure meter?

            • Lynx

In any case, camera metering works. It’s just that for d90, for example, for a lens without a chip, it does not turn on, and a dandelion tricks the camera, making you think that the lens is with a native chip.

              • Andrei

everything is clear with the principle of the dandelion. talking about the camera. on my d-750 metering works without a dandelion. according to the current light flux. the question is, which is more accurate? although ... even though the dandelion is involved in metering by deceiving the exposure meter, then the physical reduction of the aperture is basically the same pears only from the side ... just why the question arose: in the case of a dandelion - purely electronics works, in the case of closing the aperture manually - mechanics and optics ...

            • Lynx

Dandelion doesn’t measure anything. He simply deceives the camera electronics, making him think that everything is in order.

              • Andrei

dear Lynx, I know your thirst to convey your competence to everyone, you are everywhere, there are many of you, and very often Pts are NOT AT ALL the topic, but you are in your own spirit - you do not need to chew, what I know without you (and mine is better than you). read the essence of the question. and please, if there is no answer to the question - do not flood and accordion the topic. don't bother with the answer. your opinion is not interesting.

            • Lynx

              what a horror
