As for me, an interesting reporting camera. Made by mind.

  • Amateur photographer with gosfin

As for me, both companies have released decent products (they would not disappoint in real use). Of course there will be dissatisfied ones (or, to put it right, they have already been found) and the cameras are not without flaws. Designers leave imperfections to leave users with a slight feeling of hunger for ... (substitute what is missing, or most likely substitute the price).
Nevertheless, my will would take both (well, at least play around).

  • Nikolai (sn797)

Checking mail, mailing from Radozhiva and op-pa - Canon EOS 7D Mark II! I didn't run, but flew to look and ... saw the picture. Crop! Further not interesting. The first impression is disappointment. It remains, reluctantly, to read the characteristics ...

    • Dmitry K

so the first was crop. What were you hoping for?

  • Sergei

Canon 6D with all its shortcomings, including a tight focus, surpasses this new product in its FF matrix and costs less !!!

    • Pastor

And how will the ff matrix help when shooting sports or races? How can an unprotected camera help when shooting in the rain, in the mountains, in places with high humidity? 7d is a professional instrument, and 6d is an amateur ff. For pampering and exploring the possibilities of ff, and even for working at weddings and in the studio, 6d is good, but it is not suitable for professional reporting.

      • Neofot

For shooting sports, you need a premonition of an interesting moment, not a rate of fire (by the way, limited by a buffer). In the rain and mountains, we take with the camera, even not protected, accuracy, remembering that a protected camera also needs protected lenses. without them, “security” is a fiction. This has been proven many times and not only by me. That's all. The rest is marketing.

      • Nicholas

You are partly right, of course I shoot reports on 6D, but I have to cover it from the rain, otherwise it is creamy and nice, but yes, it is not ideal, although the camera is decent, so I am addicted to 7D to replace 6D

    • Andrei

:) All fives, even the fourth do not pull like the second seven, tested in practice

  • Sergei

But in general, fuji about 2 with FF - that’s the bomb!

  • Nikolai (sn797)

Reluctantly, I read the characteristics of one of the most anticipated cameras of the last 5 years. A new sensor, new processors, blah-blah-blah and other improvements and then noticed, but the main thing disappeared! The main thing that fundamentally distinguished the (already old) 20 from other "Canon" crops (30-40-50-51200D). Gone is the most beautiful in the world, shining with a thin strip of chrome, shiny rim on the rear steering wheel! Why do I need ISO 400 if the (already old) 6 makes decent noise at ISO 4? Why do I need two Digic 10s when two Digic 6s are just as good? And why do I need a new and mysterious "Rate" button? 8 frames per second - oh yes, cool! Only then "zadolbaeshsya" to choose two or three decent ones out of a ton of slag, and a ton is gained and at XNUMX-XNUMX frames per second incredibly fast, proven by years of experience :) Well, and so on. But, here is a brilliant rim, or rather, its loss - it's in vain! Photographers, amateurs and pros alike will yearn for him ... for a cardinal distinction :)

    • Yuriy75

The rim is important, I think you're completely right!

      • Nikolai (sn797)

In terms of metaphysical perception of everything around :) I have long been on anything that can be called good, I do not hope. But seriously, I expected a bigger matrix from the second seven. If not full, then APS-H would be a good option too. The first 7D is a great device, everything about it is excellent except the matrix. It is noisy, with dirty ugly noise and narrow DD. But I, even for cheap, would not change the 7D for the 7D Mark, it makes no sense. The point was to change 40D to 7D, if only because of the viewfinder, focusing system ... well, and the chrome bezel mentioned below :)))

  • Photographer

the only really cool mark ll it was…. Toyota mark ll 1994
and cannon is a completely different story ...

    • Nikolai (sn797)

Let me disagree with you about the "unique". Undoubtedly, the mark ll from Toyota is cool, but as for me - a lover of chrome rims :) Lincoln Continental Mark II Convertible 1956-57, among all second brands - out of competition, however, like (now) the first seven among the "Canon" crops.

  • Andrey Dolzhenko

I don't quite understand what this camera is for. Who will buy a crop if for this price you can take an FF with an excellent matrix (the same D610)? What is its purpose? Reportage? So a noisy cropped matrix with a narrow DD negates this purpose. Well, only if you shoot football on the street in clear weather. What is 10 frames per second for with such a matrix? Collect slag, as Nikolai wrote above? In short, some questions. Nikon and Canon have wonderful moves. Nikon puts cool matrices into the cameras, but cuts down on the functionality. Canon saturates cameras with functionality, but puts shitty matrices. Hmm ...

    • Victor

And by the way. Has anyone tried to calculate the difference in area between matrices with crop 1,5 (Nikon) and matrices with crop 1,6 (Canon)? It turned out to me that the difference is greater than the size of the matrix on compacts (for which they push 10 million pixels). I really like the new focusing system (Dual-Pixel). That is drop dead fast when shooting in live view. But without a rotary screen (and even a touch screen) this is not interesting.

    • Arkady Shapoval

      And?

      • Krop Polnokadrovich

Finally ofigel yes Arkady? They advertise YOUR OWN site !!! We are the patriots of Radozhiva, and we will not read anyone else. We are fed well here.

        • Do_Oraemon

That one can be read sometimes for the sake of someone else’s interest, but for me personally “Radozhiva” is not so much a blog where I learn something new, but an interest club, in which there is very interesting and lively communication in the comments. Like Tyoma’s LiveJournal :)

        • Arkady Shapoval

Yes, I am not against normal links, but in my opinion on the official website there is more information than on that link, and it is not clear what the author tried to say with it :)

  • Dmitriy

Well, at least they did not come to leave only sd cards. In general, the new matrix is very interesting.

    • Victor

And what exactly are bad SD cards? SanDisk spawned CF and they can kill this format. What do we have today from Extreme PRO SDXC UHS-I? 512 GB capacity, 95Mb / s read speed and 90Mb / s write. In terms of reliability and the number of recording cycles, it is no less inferior, with completely different sizes.

  • AlekK

I have been shooting on 7D for the third year, and in my case the only alternative was 1Dx, since neither Fives, let alone 6D, for technical reasons, suit me. To take 1Dx just for a hobby, to say the least, the toad was strangling, all the same, you have to work on the top carcass, and not have fun. The price does not scare me, all the more so while I keep an eye on what is good and what is bad in comparison, price - quality with 1Dx, prices will drop, especially since in the States it will initially be cheaper.
    Let's wait ...

    • Lynx

Will you change to the second version? and what is the first not ice?

      • AlekK

The first version suits me everything except noise, the maximum working ISO is 400, higher, well, if only in b / w. If the second version of ISO 1600 is working, then I will switch to it, if not, I will crush my amphibian and switch to 1Dx.

        • Lynx

          Hardly ... a crop is a crop.

  • Neofot

Hello everyone. According to 7d mark ll, I have not found anywhere information about recording sound during video: mono or stereo? For many fans, this is critical. Having full HD and at the same time mono sound from the last century is a perversion, isn't it?

    • AlekK

In general, stereo sound, like 5.1, and 7.1, is done at the post, only bytovuhi for suckers write stereo at once, but two-channel would not hurt, but in dreams it’s a dream.

      • Igor S.

Rather, we are talking about stereo on two channels, rather than surround sound with 4 or more channels.

        • AlekK

Normal filming equipment does not have stereo, but there are two or more independent mono channels.

          • Igor S.

            You are confusing something.
            Wiki info:
Stereophony [1] or Stereo sound (from other Greek στερεός “stereo” - “solid, spatial” and φωνή - “sound”) - recording, transmitting or reproducing sound, in which audio information about the location of its source is stored by means of sound layout through two (or more) independent audio channels.

And in general, what is it for? Where did you see the camera with 7.1 sound?

            • AlekK

Stereo sound is only for household video cameras, and this is a marketing move, so even if there is a stereo microphone or stereo input, it is essentially a fiction. The professional cameras have two independent craps, and you can register both with the gun at once, but there is no stereo and will not be there. Once again I repeat the real stereo sound is done at the post, during the shooting, no one bothers.

    • Novel

The question of sound "from the last century" is more than solved by an external microphone)

      • Nikon Kanonistovich

Roman, what are you talking about? Here, all basically PROFIs sit, and these pros write sound exclusively on the built-in microphone, and illuminate it with the built-in puff.

        • IgorS

For a family video, a built-in microphone is also suitable, but with young children, a soap box is generally better. While the daughter is doing something funny, the wife manages to take a soap dish from the shelf and begin to remove without distracting the child.
I've tried before; I take my bag, take out my camera, I see that something wider is needed here, I climb into the closet wider - and then my daughter becomes interested in what I am doing and the moment is long gone. Now I don't even try to get my DSLR, my wife takes everything off.
If you shoot at a higher level, then yes, you need an external microphone and some kind of frame or monopod to get something worthwhile.

          • Neofot

I shoot on a SLR, I have time (two young children).

        • Neofot

How many prof. Do you sell cameras per day? And how many amateur DSLRs? How many lovers who are many times richer than pros? Do I, as an amateur, need to bother with microphones and flashes, or is it more convenient to have it right away in the camera? The vast majority of us, and this is important to us.

      • Neofot

What for? It's troublesome. At 5200-5300 stereo, at 7100 stereo, I don't know about others. But for many (including for me this is a decisive factor: why pay extra and bother?). By the way, I bought 7100, not 610 in due time because of this. Those who shoot for themselves do not over-sound and do not bother with an overhead microphone.

        • Novel

Uh-huh. I wrote to the built-in microphones on both Canon 550D and 5D MkIII, and Nikon D5100 - already when listening to decent headphones, the verdict is one - UG.
Even if my non-professional hearing is enough to hear the difference even with the simplest microphone for $ 30-50, then I don't even know who can be happy with it ...
personally, my ears are more expensive to me)

          • Neofot

I wrote to 5200, 7100 nikons. Satisfied, but there is stereo, not mono as on your specified models. No, the overhead microphone will give 100 points ahead, of course. Nobody argues with this. And a mounted flash is better. But when there is also in the camera, it's very good. And Wi-Fi, GPS is good. Like a car with a radio tape recorder, a navigator ... All this can then be delivered and even the best, but when it is already there is nice.

            • Novel

Built into the camera, no matter how high-quality it is, it has a terrible drawback (even for advanced amateur photography) - it writes ALL sounds made by the camera (button presses, movement of the lenses inside the lens during zoom, focus, etc.) - the sensations, frankly, are unpleasant.

              • Peter Sh

The sniff of the operator completely drowns out all the other noises.

            • AlekK

If you are satisfied with the marketing parody of stereo sound, then of course you need to.

    • Victor

The built-in microphone is mono, and recording from an external microphone cannot be mono by default.

      • Novel

Recording from the external will be the same as the external one.
Attach mono - it will be mono, attach stereo - it will be stereo.
the audio jack on the camera is stereo.

  • AM

It is noteworthy that the discussion Nikon D750 has almost 2 times more answers and the intensity of the discussion is also very high. It can be assumed that Nikon owners are experiencing some of the complexes associated, apparently, with the position of the equipment they use in the market and general dissatisfaction. Perhaps, while you can stop there.

    • Victor

And you can assume that the Nikon camera was presented four days earlier than Canon and, accordingly, a larger number of people unsubscribed. And you can also assume that Nikon is more interested. Perhaps, while you can stop there.

      • AM

No. You are not reasoning correctly. Firstly, and this is easy to verify, the time taken to discuss Nikon D750 to reach the same 114 answers during the discussion took even less than Kenon7dM3, which means that the absolute value of the total time does not matter here. And secondly, the interest in waiting for Kenon was no less since it is in this model that the long-awaited new sensor stands, while in the D750 it’s just a hodgepodge and this was visible even before the discussion. Perhaps this can stop

        • Lynx

What nonsense .. here I, for example, did not expect a canon. And what is there to discuss - it turned out to be a normal working crop-reporter.

          • Do_Oraemon

Indeed, there is nothing to discuss - Comrade AM simply has a biased attitude towards the “Nikons”. Everything.

            • AM

No)) I just notice interesting points, although my attitude is really biased - I believe that the so-called fans of brands, of which there are many, are not photographers.

    • Do_Oraemon

No, everything is much simpler here: there are much more “Nikonists” on this blog - it just so happened. Most likely, this is due to the redneck of the “canonists”, because the number of “nikon” and “canon” submitted for reviews differs significantly. Although the "canons" buy more often, because initially cheaper. The end of the conversation.

      • Peter Sh

It seems to me that the “kenonists” are kept awake by the dominance of optics and all other bells and whistles for Nikon, in spite of all the successes of Kenon on prof. field of reporters. And now, not like just now. At Kenon, the leadership gap is increasingly narrowing.

This, as it were, is about complexes.
I personally spit drooling over whoever likes it better. I shoot with Nikon solely for my own reasons and preferences - I can put any ancient lens, plus the color and contrast are still more juicy.

        • Gryffon

Another fanatic. In your opinion, Canon does not have normal glasses at all. Both systems have decent glass and gaps in the lineup. Canon's 70-200 2.8 and 135kas are better than Nikorovskiy's, for example. They would be silent about drawing, it is especially funny to hear about working with manual glass, adapters with a lens - ugh damn it. Color and contrast ....? Are you an amateur? A normal photographer will not write such heresy.

          • Do_Oraemon

The amateur here is clearly you. Nikon glasses are manual (yes, the same ones that were before the invention of the motors, or until then there was no photo for you?) And just on the Nikon, unlike the Canon, they fit perfectly without any adapters - that is, you can use glass of the 50s. And about the fact that the "Canon" glass is better than Nikkor, so this is a purely subjective opinion. And a normal photographer with an unbiased attitude is NOT the type of heresy that you wrote.

            • Lynx

with all due respect and love for Nikon 135/2, subjectively, Canon 135/2 will still be better.

      • Yuriy75

        I have 1100D, I don’t think it needs a second review

  • Anton

And all this was already in Sony about 2 years ago :) Bravo Kenon :)

  • craze

    I noticed here ...

The rate of fire of the Kalashnikov assault rifle is 600 rounds per minute, which is 10 rounds per second.
In this case, the store holds 30 rounds, but before that you can drive another round into the barrel, for a total of 31 shots before there is a pause.

Doesn't this remind you of anything?
Because the Canon 7d Mark II has a 31 RAW buffer at 10 frames per second ...

    • Arkady Shapoval

By the way, even some users of the Nikon system do not know that on August 23.08.2007, 7 (almost exactly 11 years ago), Nikon released a DSLR, which quietly stinged itself at XNUMX frames per second in APS-C mode (the so-called Nikon DX).

  • Vasily

Finally, a modern replacement d300s came out, and no one showed any interest in it. Stupid amateur d750 caused a wild srach in the comments, and serious reporting on the crop was of no interest. Dudes, you are really brutal!

    • Lynx

The system is ... changing religion is difficult, not only for material, but also for psychological reasons. or even because of some little things.
It's like a woman with whom he lived half his life to change to “a little younger, and in principle everything is about the same, only turns his ass more actively, and the size is one more”.

      • Yuriy75

still replacing the park of cosmetics and clothes ... :) No! We will torment the old one and dream about the new one !!! :(

  • Peter Sh

So can anyone clearly explain why the subject is better than the d7100?

    • Artem

The same, than D300s are better than D7000.

  • Doctor

While here canon and Nikon argue. At this time, competitors are overtaking. About five years ago, no one perceived mirrorless cameras, while Nikon and Canon competed with the names of models and a small upgrade of their old mirror world. Others were building mirrorless cameras. Canon and Nikon looked like gods from Olympus. Thinking to yourself to enter the mirrorless world is not too humiliating for such great names - the gods of the photo industry. Long time watching and losing the market of this segment could not stand it. They quickly released their mirrorless cameras. Fans of Nikon and Canon have long waited for their gods to bring down a real masterpiece from heaven. And in the end it turned out…. Shame and shame. The politics of nikon and canon are reminiscent of nokia, motorola. Who ignored the touchscreen phone market. Who, too, when they were gods. And now they have sunk into oblivion. The apc format for nikon and canon is almost lost. In addition, I remember the cartoons about the canon 7d mark 2.
I bought myself a canon 7d mark 2 photography 10 fps, video full hd 60 fps matrix 20 mega! Only 1800 $ !!! The interlocutor says - Samsung has released nx1. Photo shooting 15 fps, video 4k 30 fps, full hd 120 fps, 28 mega matrix. And it only costs $ 1500. Canonist: (well, I have two digic V. The interlocutor of nx1 has one processor and H.265 video codec. And dust and moisture protection. Canonist: (well, I have a canon.

Are you going to jump from system to system with the release of a more advanced stated characteristics of the camera from a competitor ??? and optics to change ?? or do you use whale ??

    • Dmitriy

show me at least one professional taking a mirrorless mirror))))

      • Yuriy75

pros do not hang out here, lovers and drochery here! Do not bother us to fight, it’s better than beating the muzzle around the corners. :)

  • Doctor

Insider information promises that the recently patented three-layer and five-layer matrices will most likely be on canon 5d mark 4 and canon 1d mark 5. If this is the case, then such 35 mm buz matrixes will compete with the watering can. The stronger the competition, the better for us. :). We'll wait and see that canon and nikon will be released. I myself am the owner of canon 70d. I’ll live with him a couple of years. If canon 5d mark 4 really will be a revolution like canon 5d mark II, then I'll take it in a couple of years. Because I already became a drug addict. Already three years addicted to drug canon. I bought myself a lot of lenses and other whistles and pipes.

  • Novel

I love to read how the fanatics arrange disassembly :) all the cameras at the same price are approximately similar, the differences are in the details. Plus a habit: ergonomics are different. But what everyone forgets about is the fact that the camera gives only opportunities and a person removes it. I bet that of all those who portray fanatics, no one can squeeze out half of the possible result from their cameras. For if you shoot for a long time and at a serious level, then you understand this perfectly. Whoever bought the first one lives on that one. Carcasses are changing, but there is no glass. I’ll say more, under certain conditions, a real iPhone photographer will do better than any of you :) and, in general, gentlemen of empty-bells, is the best Hazel!

  • Michael

Such a number of comments, but still not a single useful one. It's a pity.

  • Dmitriy

My opinion, when you buy a camera, do not chase the declared characteristics, but you should go to the store and take the camera in your hand, take 10-x pictures and twist it in your hands, if you like Canon, hold the flag in your hands, take it and go to the cash register. Personally, I don’t like Canon and even a technically more advanced model does not bring me pleasure from using it, so I will choose Nikon.

  • Michael

Expected barricades on the Nikon / Canon line :(
And who ever tested it in real life?

  • Yuriy75

Here is a review, I don’t know if it’s registered or not, but at least something http://prophotos.ru/reviews/16254-canon-eos-7d-mark-ii-nedelya-s-ekspertom
