If this camera writes video clips with mono sound, then why is there a stereo connector for an external microphone? Or when connecting an external microphone, does the number of audio tracks in the file also change?

I would stop on the Canon all the same crop 1.6 is better than 2.0. If the question is compact, then kenon has pancakes 24 and 40mm. 50 \ 1.8stm for a reasonable price. Yes, and the old Soviet lens can be attached to the case. And you attach an old fifty dollars to an olive, and this is already sort of like a fifty dollars, but as much as 100 mm, quite narrow

The kenon crop is well balanced in terms of price and quality. Two lenses of a Kenon 40mm pancake plus 50 \ 1.8stm cost about as much as a single 45mm Olik, the most inexpensive lens of the system except for the whale. Plus, if you suddenly decide to grow to a full frame, these lenses will stay with you, where a pancake, for example, will turn into a moderate width. In the case of Olik you are hostage to one system with crop 2.0. An over-width of 10-18 on kenon will cost $ 300, the most inexpensive today. Full-frame full-length portraiture 85 \ 1.8 350-400 dollars. To shoot birds 55-250, here I think the old version of is2 without stm will not yield to the new one, it costs quite cheap it seems 150-170 dollars

Thanks. The lens comparison is in favor of Canon. The case was compared. Ergonomic 100d than OM-D. This probably also indirectly affects the quality of the pictures,
because the hand holds stronger, what is more convenient to hold, less movement.

As for ISO, I will not tell you in the reviews they write that ISO 1600 is quite working at 100d. All full-frame cameras on the ISO 6400 already usually have noticeable noise in the shadows. Here is a review of D. Yevtifeyev’s olik, including about noise http://evtifeev.com/34683-vpechatleniya-ot-fotokameryi-olympus-om-d-e-m10-mark-ii-kit-14-42mm-pri-ispolzovanii-v-puteshestvii.html

My love for Olympus began in the late 90s, with some I don’t remember the names of the soap dishes that they took on travel. We noticed that the pictures are somehow different from others.
Continued with a simple, cheap but magical E-PL1. There was some strange magic in her
But I didn’t buy a new OM-D Em5, and there, despite the fact that objectively technically everything is better, it subjectively seemed that something was already missing.

In general, I bought kenon out of a desire to indulge in old Soviet optics, which were a little on hand, and then I bought something else. Of all the old manual optics, in my opinion, Olympus lenses for SLR cameras deserve the most attention. Which have a compact design and good image quality, unfortunately the price for them bites. It's a pity that Olik left the market for SLR cameras and lenses.

And fifty dollars on 1,6 crop is too narrow for ordinary tasks, in order to shoot a full-length portrait, you need to move about 4 meters, in a small room it’s uncomfortable, but it’s cool bokeh. And with a wide angle, the whale 18-55 copes well.

They say about pancake, because the camera implies the use of compact lenses in many respects. All EF and EF-S optics are compatible with this camera, obviously. Those. A half-pot of 50 / 1.8 will do. But in general, you can look at YongNuo 50 / 1.8, which they sell on Ali. Cheaper and in many ways more enjoyable.

I agree, I consider 24 megapixels redundant for such a matrix. But the 100d does not have a rotary screen, Wi-Fi (which can be critical for girls) and interval shooting, however this is partially solved using the remote control or connecting to a computer using the utility that comes with the kit.

It is preferable to 100d because of the better focusing system during video shooting (Hybrid AF 2 versus normal focusing by contrast), servo focusing in video mode, slightly better burst speed (4 frames versus 3 frames), slightly better display and other details. 100d in general, slightly above the 1000D-> 1100D-> 1200D-> 1300D line

The seller pursued his goals. Firstly, you can buy a separate camera and a separate lens with a stub. Secondly, for shooting in low-light conditions, increase the sensitivity (ISO). Thirdly, the stub on wide and medium focal lengths is not critical.

It is more profitable for the seller to take the kit lens from the kit, because it costs more outside the kit. But I would have sold another lens to the camera, winning on this) Two birds with one stone: a whale for sale separately and a sold lens for replacement.

... ”Due to its small size and weight, the camera uses an LP-E12 battery, which is enough for only 400-500 shots, which is noticeably less than on other CZK (for example, charging the old lady D40 with a fixer is enough for more than a thousand shutter clicks ). "

"Got it and took it off" for travel - this is the SONY RX100. Moreover, the first model is still quite suitable for itself, but you can look at the subsequent ones, depending on the thickness of the wallet.
A DSLR is not required for such an application, and often completely redundant.

Any genuine Canon flash and any third-party flash designed for Canon.

But the 100D is a fairly small camera and a large flash on it will outweigh. Therefore, you can try some compact flash for 2 batteries like the Canon 270 EX II or Meike 320.

Well, or a more serious decision from the radio transmitter on the flash and 1 (2, 3 flashes) on the offset, which are ignited by this transmitter. It’s more convenient because lighting schemes are more realistic and there are more options for customization. A flash without modifiers on the camera differs from the flash built into the camera, not very significantly.

Formally, any will do. Considering the diminutive size of the camera, it could be something with two batteries - Canon 90EX, Godox TT350C TTL or others. Full size will outweigh.

But a flash on a camera, even on a large one, is very, very inconvenient. For cases when, well, nothing at all - there is a built-in one. The large on-camera outweighs, the small one does not even unfold properly, will give light directly to the forehead - again, why, if there is a on-camera. Therefore, a much better option would be to take any flash from Godox or Yongnuo (well, or a system flash from Canon - it's more expensive) and a radio control module to it. It is small, just right on the camera, and will also give an autofocus illumination. And you can put a flash with any attachment wherever you want, put it in a stripbox, carry it on a stick, increase the number of flashes to two, three, five, etc.

For example, I have three external flash units Yongnuo 600 EX-RT (these are copies of Canon 600 EX-RT) and a synchronizer from Yongnuo. And I forgot the last time I put a flash on my camera. I control all the parameters from the synchronizer - the power of each flash - very convenient. Now I would take the system from Godox - there is much more choice.

You can try Canon EOS Utility - this requires an included laptop, which will send signals via the USB cable when taking a photo. For a view from the window, it is suitable or there for shooting seed germination, but for outdoor applications, it is clearly not very good.

The EOS 100D has an E3 connector for all kinds of self-timer. The native one is put through an expensive N3-E3 adapter (there for a lace under $ 100 only, plus you need the TC-80N3 intervalometer itself, on which the delay time and the number of frames are set, also around $ 200).

Therefore, it is better to look for a Chinese analogue for your connector. For example Pixel TC-252 with E3 lanyard. This one costs about $ 25 with us.

Actually, connect the device to the camera, insert the batteries into it, set the number of frames and the interval between them and make sure that the camera battery + space on the card is enough for a given number of frames. You can shoot in JPEG for more space. Well, and then glue a bunch of your photos in some Adobe Premiere.

I bought it for its tiny size in 2024 from a girl for less than $30 with a kit lens, who, like all normal people, went to Sony. I bought my Canon ten years ago to work in SMM, but the camera’s video recording was quite stupid and inconvenient for her. I need this camera for traveling and shooting distant objects in nature. When normal smartphones with EGF 500mm and higher appear, of course I will forget about this camera. It feels as fast as my 550d. Focus seems even faster on STM lenses. The touch screen is a bonus. so at night it is sometimes faster to choose something than to walk with buttons or wheels.
