Pentax K-5 review

According provided by camera Pentax K-5 many thanks to Petr Lewandovich. As soon as I was about to review the Pentax K-5, the new Pentax K-3 was released, but nevertheless the Pentax K-5, Pentax K-5 II and their modifications remain very good cameras.

Pentax K-5 review

Pentax K-5 review

The Pentax K-5 is an excellent advanced consumer DSLR camera. The Pentax K-5 was released in September 2010, and in 2012 it was updated to the Pentax K-5 II version. Many users are skeptical about Pentax products, arguing that Nikon, Canon and Sony are always one step ahead. Let me remind you that it was Pentax who revolutionized the camera industry by creating a modern look for a SLR with a quick-return mirror and pentaprism. At one time, the Pentax K-5 was one of the best DSLR APS-C cameras.

Pentax K-5 sample photo

Pentax K-5 sample photo

Pentax K-5 uses a 16 MP sensor that allows you to take pictures of 4928 X 3264 pixels. It is interesting that the same sensor is used in a huge number of cameras: Nikon D5100, Nikon D7000Pentax K-30, Pentax K-50, Pentax K-500, Fuji X-Pro1, Pentax K-5 II, Pentax K-01, Sony a580, Sony A55, Sony A57, Sony NEX-5N. Apparently the sensor is really good, since so many cameras have been released on its basis. Pentax K-5 can work in the range of ISO 100-12.800, but if you enable the extended range in the menu, you can use ISO from 80 to 51.200. For example, Nikon D7000 with the same sensor can use the ISO range of 100-25.600. When I shot on the Pentax K-5 with the noise reduction function turned off at high sensitivity, then at ISO 100 to 1600 the picture was immediately shown on the camera display after the shutter was released, when switching to ISO 2000 and higher the picture was shown with some delay. I attribute such a delay to the fact that already at ISO 2000 the camera still turns on the noise reduction function. As for the noise level, the Pentax K-5 has no special problems with this, the main thing is not to use the 'inflated' values from 12.800 to 51.200. In the Pentax K-5, you can set its own level of noise reduction for each ISO range, for example, set the average noise reduction level for the ISO 800-1250 range, and turn off the noise reduction function for the 400-800 range.

Pentax K-5 sample photo

Pentax K-5 sample photo

Pentax K-5 can shoot at 7 frames per second. This is a very good indicator. Burst speed is almost as fast as that of Nikon D300 (with booster) and Canon 7D. It is very strange that the optical viewfinder and monochrome display do not display the frame buffer capacity. If you turn off all the additional features that improve image quality and that reduce buffer capacity, the camera can continuously shoot approximately 25 photos in PEF or DNG format and 35 photos in JPEG format at maximum quality, after which the burst speed drops noticeably. For the test I used a Transcend card SD HC 16GB class 10.

Pentax K-5 sample photo

Pentax K-5 sample photo

But if you turn on all the functions at once: distortion correction, chromatic increase correction, noise reduction at high sensitivity, noise reduction at slow shutter speeds, light compensation, shadow compensation, then Pentax K-5 starts think very hard, each shot the camera processor processes more than 5 seconds! At this time, you can neither launch the menu, nor view the footage. Imagine, when I shot a series of 10 frames, I had to wait a whole minute while the camera processed and recorded the photo on a memory card, and all this time there is just an hourglass on the camera's display. Such serious brakes completely discourage shooting further. But still, in order not to waste time and not wait for the camera processor to process the picture, you can just continue shooting. I noticed that the 'corrections' function takes the most processing time. lens'.

Pentax K-5 sample photo

Pentax K-5 sample photo

It is very strange that the Pentax K-5 has very poor set of functions when working with video. Before recording a video, you can set only the aperture value and the correction exposure. There is no control during video recording. shutter speed, no aperture, no ISO. And most importantly, when recording a video, automatic focusing does not work, and sound is recorded from a monaural microphone. And the maximum quality Full HD 1920 * 1080 works only at 25 frames per second. In my opinion, video in the Pentax K-5 is implemented as badly as in the first, similar cameras from Nikon and Canon. But the built-in image stabilizer Shake reduction Helps to create videos without jerking pictures.

Pentax K-5 sample photo

Pentax K-5 sample photo

There is HDR function. When shooting, the camera takes several pictures without lowering the mirror, and then one of them. The process of merging images also takes a very, very long time.

Pentax K-5 sample photo

Pentax K-5 sample photo

Pentax K-5 has a lot of useful settings, which are often specially cropped in advanced amateur cameras Nikon and Canon. For example, the Pentax K-5 has the function of quick enlargement of a picture; the magnification itself can be set in the menu. You can calibrate the display color and adjust the font size. There is an interesting function for masking pixels, setting focus priorities, fine-tuning autofocus. The Pentax K-5 can remotely control flashes in flash mode W. In the camera menu, you can configure the built-in flash only to emit command pulses. Of course, there is a focus trap that makes it very easy to use old non-autofocus optics. Pentax K-5 functionality is at a very high level, and you can study the camera and pick settings for a very long time. The camera is very pleasant to operate, has a large 3-inch display with 921.000 pixels, an additional monochrome display. Ergonomics at a high level.

If I had a choice between Pentax K-5 and Nikon D7000then I would choose Nikon D7000 due to the 39-point focusing system, a more thoughtful video, two slots for memory cards and a more thought-out system for remote control of external flashes. Still at Nikon D7000 Auto-ISO operates in 'M' mode, and there is a minimum excerpt sync with flash 1 / 320s versus 1 / 180s with Pentax K-5, both cameras support high-speed synchronization with shutter speeds up to 1/8000 s. Yes and it costs Nikon D7000 cheaper.

You can look at more examples of photos on Pentax K5 in SMC Pentax-DA 1 review: 1.8 50mm.

Prices for modern Pentax cameras in popular stores can look at this link.

In comments Can I ask you a question on the topic and you will answer, and you can also express your opinion or describe your experience. Many little things for a photo can be found on AliExpress.

Conclusions:

The Pentax K-5 is a very good camera, perfect for advanced hobbyists. The Pentax K-5 has huge functionality for taking photos and a stripped down functionality for video shooting. I would like to highlight the fast burst shooting of 7f / s, not bad frame bufferbuilt Shake Reduction Image Stabilizer, many fine-tuning and overall good image quality.

  • Dmitriy

    Arkady, thanks for the review!
Please tell me how he lies in his hand? Is it convenient to manage?
Who do you prefer, this Petnax or Nikon 7000?

    • Arkady Shapoval

In the hand is very good. D7000, 7d would give preference for a number of reasons, some of which are described in the article. Also, it is unfortunate that Pentax does not make full-size cameras, and the new K3 is again tied to the crop, while prof. Photographers work or switch to full format.

      • Basil

shot d7000 took off the pentax k5 one evening, was dissatisfied with the quality of the raw files and the color and work with the same iso 800.

In the aperture I processed from the pluses and inside the camera stabilization that as a whole pentaks the lens, they are cheaper than Nikon lenses. Now I’m shooting with Nikon, I’m satisfied with the Pentax, you can see it as a decent camera.
Shot on a Canon 60d I didn’t feel the difference between the Nikon d7000, the number of focus points is not critical.

for practical reasons, if I chose the system again and did not see another, it might be Pentax.

      • Daniel

tell Dmitry I have a pentax kr, but I want to start renting weddings and now in my thoughts take k-5 or another brand already buy optics for petaks only two inexpensive from sigma

  • Vadim

"Who do you give your preference to, this Petnax or Nikon 7000?"
Dmitry, before asking such questions, you would read the entire text in its entirety. Two paragraphs previously answered your question.

    • Dmitriy

Yes ... apparently I skipped this paragraph.
      sorry for the stupid question

  • Artem

I wonder if she has focus correction (front / back) like the d7000?

    • Arkady Shapoval

Yes, there is, and this is indicated in the review:

... pixel masking, focusing prioritization, AF fine tuning ...

Sorry, people forgot how to read.

      • Artem

I read this, but it is not clear how the “autofocus adjustment” is interpreted. Then in the d7000, if I understood correctly, you can set several profiles for different lenses or focal lengths.

        • Artem

I can also add that with manual focusing, the effects of focus shift also appear. I didn’t measure it myself, they say so on the forums.

  • 10111

The familiar look of the SLR camera was set by Contax S.

  • Denis

I personally like the Pentax colors, I shoot with Nikon myself (this is how fate has developed, at least for the moment). Somewhere here on Radozhiv I spoke (but was misunderstood) about the massive flashing of Canon cameras in films on TV screens - I don't know what it is: advertising or documenting the usual course of things. For a long time, observing honest photographers, I note cases of transition from Canon to Nikon, and from Pentax to Canon.

    • Basil

I’m renting. Nikon was holding a DSLR in his hands, he was shooting, he didn’t feel much difference in the graves, he got the color in the profiles. In the case of k5, there was a negative experience (when there is something to compare), the color and the range did not like k5 2s, the situation with iso was fixed

      • Igor

I shot on the 60D kenon, I was very surprised that it turned out to be noisier (!!!) on the same ISOs (!!!) of my Nikon D3100, despite the tangible difference in the class of cameras

    • Alexander

In films, all brands that flicker pay studios for advertising, so do not judge by films

  • Vladimir

    Good evening!
And do not plan a review of the Pentax K 500
I wonder how this relatively inexpensive camera and how much differs from K30, K50, for example, and whether it has a screwdriver

    • Arkady Shapoval

      Send, we will review.

  • Oleg

Glasses and other accessories at Pentax, Sony, etc. few, not like for canon and nikon

    • Roma

Pentax has the best compatibility with all the optics it has ever been :) so you can not cry much on lenses :) yes their limits will cover any projective that Nikon is a Pentax :)

        * what is nikon what is kenon

  • anonym

Hello. used K-5 ... the opinion is very ambiguous .... in principle, I shield that it tears the D7000 and 7D to smithereens ... and in all respects except for autofocus (really pumped up) colors, DD, ergonomia, optical compatibility at altitude is just ... And then they gave me the Pentax guys ... guys ... honestly ... Pentax simply has no competitors. as soon as he releases the FF camera, I immediately sell my entire Nikon set (d700 + 35-70 2,8D, 50 1,4D, 80-200 2,8 D MK3, 85 1,8D, 20 2,8D (Nikon is just shykaren no complaints about him)) and buy myself a pentax ...

    • Arkady Shapoval

      Once, as soon as ...

      • anonym

By the way, this is the only thing that holds: (((well, why don't they want to release FF ??: (((the canon would have left right away ... Nikon would not have held out too ...) offensive :(

        • Oleg Muravitsky

They do not plan to release a kind of full frame. For the pros, they have a 645D with a 44x33 mm matrix :)

        • Denis

They promise everything. The last promise was in the spring of 15 years.

        • Ivan

          Well, K-1 came out.
And no one left: neither Ken nor Nick. They live and live.

    • Oleg

Good day! I then first in line in case of sell optics))))

    • Michael

Yes, Lima ruined me too :)

    • Michael

      Sold out?)))

  • Roman

I do not agree with the statement that the Canon-Nikon-Sony are one step ahead. Their marketing is 10 steps ahead. On one of the photo sites I read a detailed review of the K-5II, and then on the same site the same detailed review of the Canon 5dm3. It seems that the pentax was developed by photographers for photographers, and the kenon computer specialists together with marketers. The logic of working with the camera is completely different, I would have made friends with him). Because of poverty I have to use full-frame kenons, Pentax does not produce modern full-frame cameras, they have a medium format ... The prevalence and all the plus of kenon-nikon-dormouse.
I am writing this as the owner of kenon. No offense to fans of this brand.

    • Arkady Shapoval

Holding Pentax K-5 I can’t say that it was developed by photographers :)

      • Roman

Everything is different there than on Nikon Kenons. This is a completely different world almost. Who is used to what. I shared my impressions that arose after reading the review (or rather 2 different reviews and involuntary comparisons with 5dm3). So, impressions from kenon were confirmed, because I have this technique. With Pentax it was not possible to confirm or refute the first opinion.

        • Oleg Muravitsky

There are a lot of similarities with Nikon, but also with Sony and Olympus. Pentax seems to have a little bit of all systems, although I don’t dare to judge who I borrowed from whom. But after the D90 and Olympus E-P5, it was really easy for me to deal with the K-3.

  • Arnet

Thanks so much for the review. Yes, the camera after serial shooting is thinking. But if the card is 2-4 GB, then everything is accelerated and the transformation process is almost invisible. Of the advantages, in my opinion, is that you can take it on a tin can. You need to get used to this camera and configure it correctly for yourself. Then K5, in my opinion, becomes excellent. But there are a lot of settings, they should be sorted out.
Autofocus with firmware 1.14 works very clearly and the backlight almost always helps.
What I don't like is the price. But turned around once and all. Pentax lenses with a motor are very expensive, but apparently they are worth it. As for the relatively old lenses, the prices are quite normal, not talking about Soviet optics. Thanks again to Arkady for the review.

    • Arkady Shapoval

Yes, the price is a little disappointing.

    • Petro

      I bought K-5 + SMC Pentax-DA 1: 1.8 50mm 8 months ago for 6500 UAH and I don’t regret it. And the Nikon D700 with the Nikon 50mm f: 1.4, how much I can remember getting a little more expensive!

Mauger, I have fun in prices on Nikon! ???

  • anonym

There is no need to exaggerate, camera manufacturers have long conspired about who, how and what to produce. Let's shoot with what anyone has - practice is a must for a photographer.

  • anonym

Shake Reduction Image Stabilizer - Unicaline Pentax. Once you paid for it, you should wait for you:) (Manual and radian optics with a stabilizer and a great plus) For a 50 mm buttstock f1.8 with a 1/15 in-card protector and a little working (sorry for Arkady not to be beaten up when you know )

K-5 can be a good shutter from the board, magnesium body, battery trim> 1200 frames with Shake Reduction.

Arkady, PENTAX declares that they have a unique coverage of the “SP coating” linz on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZIlUwfhKAwA . What are you thinking about?

    • Jury

The stabilized matrix, actually Minolta invented! And much earlier ... she applied all the others in her CTF.
Which (Minolta) was soon acquired by Sonya, completely preserving, and the stabilization of the matrices, making it her "chip" in all her Alphas / Nexes.

      • vldslv

What do you “write” ... what a matrix stub in nexes and alphas!?!?! Maybe I don’t understand something, but why then Sony produces glasses with stabilization ... Where is the logic?

        • Vampire

Yuri, comparing the stabilization from Sony (minolta) with the stabilization of Pentax (Olympus) is somewhat incorrect. They have it implemented in completely different ways! Pentax and Olympus have a completely different matrix oscillation system. About Nexah - neksy do not yet have optical stabilization in the camera, only in the lenses. Alpha - yes, no questions.

  • Nicholas

Good day to everyone, about Pentax- Brother actively uses it, the Limited series is super, compact lenses, compatibility with many Soviet lenses without adapters, especially good in landscapes and street photos. Thanks for the article, Arkady, we will save up to 200mm 2,0 and similar in order to diversify the reviews.)

I'm wildly sorry. but I want to pester my question again. Focusing screen with wedges vs matte screen with a magnifying eyecup (manual mode).

  • Do_Oraemon

One doesn’t interfere :) I myself use a screen with wedges and a magnifying eyecup. By itself, the matte screen loses in all respects. The screens with wedges have a micro-raster ring that is incredibly bright - you can even aim on very dark lenses, even manually, when neither the Fresnel lens nor the Doden wedges help or on manual lenses with minimum aperture values. So if you are a manual operator or a “lucky owner” of very dark glasses, go ahead behind the screen with wedges.

“The Nikon D7000 also has Auto-ISO in 'M' mode, and has a minimum sync speed of 1 / 320s versus 1 / 180s for the Pentax K-5, both cameras support high-speed sync with shutter speeds up to 1/8000 s. And the Nikon D7000 is cheaper. ”

Arkady, the Pentax K-5 has a “TAv” mode. Shutter speed + aperture priority there Auto-ISO

    • Arkady Shapoval

Auto ISO works in Av and TV mode, in M it does not work.

      • Dmitriy

And why in auto mode autoiso? Where is the logic? That's why it's manual mode, isn't it? You don’t salt sugar?

  • Alexey Kornev

As a person filming with Pentax, I will allow myself a couple of thoughts on this. The system itself is for "masochists" in a good sense of the word. If Canon does everything for you, then Pentax needs to be configured, and to the smallest detail. But if you did this, then there are practically no competitors in the quality of the picture on the crop. But this, as they say, is not for everybody. For example, when filming a wedding, you need efficiency, here no one can compare with Canon, for a leisurely shooting I take Pentax with me.
Huge advantages for those who shoot with manual glasses are focus confirmation and green dot, plus the ability to adjust right in the camera, plus a stabilization system right in the camera. I shot with a 180mm lens at a shutter speed of 1/50 and without blur))
But there are huge disadvantages: a slow processor, even with high-speed cards, often misses metering (maybe I got such a copy), crooked fonts in the menu))), you need to configure everything yourself to get the expected quality.
In general, Pentax cameras, like Subaru cars, are a thing in themselves and for their own. :)

    • Paul

True noticed))) I have a Subaru and Pentax

  • Ilona

Hello. I have been looking at Pentax for a long time. Tell me whether to take the Pentax K-50 DA L 18-55mm WR. I will shoot dogs in the studio and at exhibitions. Holding the K-30 in her hands, just a song. Nikon 5200 wanted to buy up to this point. Not very good. lay down in the hand. But this is all a matter of habit. The main issue is autofocus. Is it fast enough on this model? Thanks.

  • Sergei

I own K-5 for more than a year and a half. I will be brief.
    Pros:
    - The dynamic range, one of the best among the crop, besides, “tears” by this parameter many FFs, who do not know why they need a large DD, shoot night scenes from a tripod, when there are overexposures, and there are no details in the shadows. So K-5 allows you to "draw" a lot of detail from the shadows.
    - Dust and moisture protection. In fact, it justifies itself only in tandem with a dust-moisture lens, which in the system are only zooms and 100mm macro.
    - Compactness. It is very pleasant to throw a camera down in a bag together with a 40th lim and not strain too much from the overweight.
    - Many functions inherent in FF. I will not list it, it is in the reviews.

    By cons.
    - Autofocus ... Sadness, it's bad. I'm not talking about the follower at all, he is just inoperative, that is, it buzzes, focuses, but out of place. Even in the usual mode, the focus periodically smears ... They say the focus is better on K-5ІIS. But I don't see any point in changing the camera because of one focus. Because I shoot landscapes mostly.
    - Something not the best compatibility with flashes ... I don't know, I don't use flashes.

Optics. Lima is an excellent thing, there are no analogues in any system. I have 3 limas - 15, 40 and 70 mm, there is also a 100 mm makrik. All wonderful glasses with an excellent picture. But after shooting for a year and a half, I want versatility. Lima - for leisurely shooting. There is no really good zoom in the system, in my opinion. The 16-50 F / 2.8 does not match the quality, alas.
I thought about switching to FF for several reasons:
    - There is a lack of quality wide angle. 15 lim (on the crop it is 22 mm) is very good, but sometimes narrow. Native 12-24 also does not solve the problem. There is sigma 8-16, but there is unprotected glass.
    - There are almost no good zooms (except, perhaps, 50-135 F / 2.8). Limas are wonderful, but constantly changing them on a trip is very inconvenient. As a result, you either go from 15, or you cling to a portrait photographer like the 70th. Many interesting angles are lost.

To summarize - the K-5 is a good camera for leisurely shooting. Dynamics is not her strong suit. But evening scenes from a tripod in the presence of good optics are excellent due to the large DD. Portraits are great too. Someone is talking about "corporate" colors ... Shoot in RAV and wind yourself any color. I personally do that.

    • Murzik

I do not agree about the lack of good zoom. I have been using K-5 II for 2 years. When the buck was 8, I managed to get on ibei

SMC Pentax-FA * 80-200mm F2.8 ED [IF] (one minus, very heavy)
      и
      SMC FA * 28-70mm F2.8 AL

both saws are waterproof in metal cases, made for centuries! Filmed by them in the rain and at Christmas at -15. Everything is on top! Both have a lively real picture, excellent sharpness and unrivaled color reproduction. both in the region of 1000 cu but they are worth it.

28-70 station wagon. I always dreamed of a high-quality zoom in such ranges of FR.
I rent sports for 80-200, basketball and concerts in 80%. in the summer I arrange a photo by-pass on Obolonskaya embankment, in Shevchenko or Mariinsky parks and in the dream town. It’s successful to make random portraits and scenes from far away, when you click into the crowd and, on the other hand, doesn’t make a claim in front of you because you don’t know which one you really took a picture of))

I’m going to shoot an 80-200 video blog in the field of geodesy, design and outdoor construction in tandem with the Lens radio senheiser.

Of course I’m looking forward to the announced Pentax FF, but if there is not well thought out and organized video shooting and tracking silent autofocus, as in Kyanon, then in view of the terrible crap cu I will survive without it)

K-5II from 18 - 135 wr bought a year ago instead of the broken pseudo-mirror FZ-30 from Panasonic. they have very similar ergonomics and controls (this added a plus sign when choosing) :-). Before that I had been shooting with ZENIT for quite a long time (there were a few "glasses" left - another plus sign). I am engaged in sports tourism (competitions and sports categorized and not very cycling, kayaking, walking ...). I needed a reliable, maximally lightweight, compact, dust and moisture-proof camera for hiking (I wanted a more modern digital SLR). Considered and compared a huge variety of equipment from different manufacturers. PENTAX K-5II and Nikon D7000 remained the last on the scales. PENTAX outweighed ... Without going into technical details and comparisons I will say one thing - I fell in love with it! Yes, you need to know and study it. But the manufacturer positions it as a CAMERA for thoughtful and unhurried shooting, although with the PENTAX SMC DA 18-135MM F / 3.5-5.6 ED AL [IF] DC WR lens you can successfully shoot a reportage. A year later, I find a new understanding of using different settings in different shooting situations. I got everything I wanted, and even more! PENTAX is amazing!

      http://www.pentaxphotogallery.com

where you can select any pentax fotik paired with any pentax lens in the filter and view available pictures in a given combination. I just fell in love with pentax.
I took off K-5 for a couple of years, recently picked up a nikon ... the feeling of a child's toy)

Remembering that there is a certain opinion that by default there is usually a little nikon, as they say “sinit”, and kyanon “yellows” the image, then speaking of the pentax, I can say that kakrtina is the most real and truthful.

Let me make a few remarks about the Pentax. In my opinion, this is really a “camera made by photographers for photographers” - the end of the quote. The fact is that in the Pentax, in my opinion, there is not a single EXTRA function, as in the kenon-nikon-sony. The camera is simple enough to adjust “for yourself”, quite a visual instruction, thoughtful, in my opinion, the ergonomics of the camera - for example, it lies very comfortably in the hand, it is quite convenient to control the camera. Regarding the slowness, we have spoiled you, gentlemen, with autofocus zooms and burst shooting to boot! Vel was filmed before, in “pre-autofocus-zoom” times, both sports and weddings - and nothing, even prizes at exhibitions were received for the best photo! I shot with my Pentax (I have, however, K-7, not K-5) and the wedding - the customer was satisfied. It all depends on what you plan to shoot at the wedding - compromising evidence or is it something more artistic ? The shutter speed of 1/180 s is quite enough for shooting with a “fill-in” flash in daylight. Burst shooting? It is unlikely that you often use it, if you are not a professional paparazzi, of course ... The fact that the VIDEO functions are cut down is a PHOTO, not a VIDEO camera! If it is really necessary, buy a video camera separately, since the prices for them are not so "biting" , and a specialized apparatus is much better. The only drawback is the non-rotating screen.

Slightly surprised by the timing of the emergence of a good personal opinion of an authoritative expert regarding the Pentax K-5. The relevance is noticeably lost when the already updated model K-5II (K-5IIs) is on the market. It was possible, of course, not to focus on this, but the points of positioning of well-known brands are touched upon, noticeable shortcomings are noted. But it's about a 3-year-old model. In addition, I am skeptical about comments on video filming. My opinion, if we talk about it, is the last thing, and without accents. This is a PHOTO machine, not a combine. Further, everyone has the right to dream of outstanding parameters that they would like to have in the device they are using. But we are talking about a specific model with a specific cost. I'm using K-5II. The device is very decent. The reliability and quality are excellent. With regard to autofocus - just ringing, grasps like a beast. By the way, one of the important points that has been improved in comparison with the K-5. It was very important for me that a very large range of optics from analog technology works with the device.
Thanks for the review. It helped to establish itself in its relation to the Pentax K-5II.

Thankful. I agree. Changed Kr to K 5-2, s- did not dare. Satisfied!!!! In conjunction with Tamron 28-75 and YES 55-300 + 18-55 (Helios 44-2, world 1c, - sometimes) - whatever and how you want. AF-after K-r-DREAM. I use the central point more often - I decide that sharply. I advise everyone who understands the difference with digital cameras and is not ready to pay hundreds of tr. The price of a carcass is 30 tons. - Nikon 300s- 35t.r ... And bastard! I chose and used many different ones .. To the hand and soul.

I completely agree, I myself have been using the second version of the K-5 for the second year already

Your comparison “Pentax k-5 is worse than Nikon7000” is purely tabular. We lined up a number of performance characteristics and stupidly put + and - after which the result. If you did a serious test, you would know that the Pentax's DD on this matrix is strong in front of the other cameras, Dust-proof really works, because Pentax is not an all-weather camera but a SYSTEM! You won't take off Nikon's grasshoppers from the water level in the lake, the long humidity of the Polesye swamps will cause it to fog up from the inside, and in winter the shutter will freeze. I had the opportunity to contemplate this at my partner with the D700.
They forgot to mention something about Pentax's anti-shake on the matrix - I use two Samyangs, a Rockinon, Telezenitar .. I work on my hands for 1 / 10sec !!!
Well, in terms of the autofocus menu .. no doubt. Only my arguments in + Pentax didn’t you mention in any way how you give out your lobbying.
In general, everything is biased ... which is not surprising, because you use Nikon. I have to sneeze on these stamps-shmarks .... while others are misleading - no need.

      Good time…
I certainly apologize, I had no experience of using Pentax ... But something reminds me of the chamber color Sigma Faveon, may both forgive me) ...
