Good afternoon, Arkady! who will tell you if not you :) there are Soviet and a couple of high-aperture Zeiss lenses, aimed at manual shooting (not commercial). The priority is the exposure meter working with manuals, a screwdriver, autofocus. I'm not a fan of Dandelion, and I don't chase megapixels, speed, screen, ergonomics, Live View, etc. on board will not be superfluous :) Interested in used. option, up to $ 300.

The appearance of the menus and autofocus is treated by updating the firmware to version 2.00. In short, you can upgrade to D70s a bit for free. Of course, the little screen is just horror. When viewing, it takes the image to the area of cold shades, and the auto WB also sometimes suffers from this, so sometimes you have to make a WB correction somewhere by -1 -2. But the minimum shutter speed of 1/8000 is really a godsend. The shutter sound is very pleasant. Such a shutter would be used for more recent cameras ... The matrix is quite normal, if you don't drive ISO up to 800.

Good day, Arkady. I’ve been reading your articles for a long time and I can’t get enough :) I have a question for you which camera can be purchased in addition to the D5100. That considered the option D70. attracted by the fact that there is the possibility of remote control of flashes, a screwdriver and shutter speed of 1/8000 s.

Arkady, I have been reading your reviews for several years, everything was determined with a camera, more precisely, with religion. Finally, I saved up money for a DSLR and settled on this model, the D70. Everyone says that you can't imagine better for a beginner (I'm switching from a Canon A class soap dish). So here is the essence of my question: I came across such an ad - Camera NikonD70 / mileage 7000, 2 batteries, 2 memory cards, 2 Photo lenses: Nikkor AF 18-70, Nikkor AF 70-300, SB-80DX flash, charger, documents / everything, ideally ... 750 USD Is this ok for such a kit or can you ask for a small discount? A bit expensive for me.

I also purchased this model as my first training DSLR. I was very pleased with the price (a carcass for $ 150 is not at all expensive, I think), as well as a screwdriver for autofocus. The device sits very nicely in the hand and has a solid weight and size, which is very pleasant for me. Again, I will repeat myself and say that the screen is not at all chic ... but since this device is already a little advanced, it turned out to be much more convenient for me to work and operate than modern entry-level DSLRs.

    Arkady, thanks for your work.

    Hello.
I am faced with the choice to buy the first mirror fotik from used so that a) it would be inexpensive b) to learn how to work with it c) attach a 9M wave lens (it worked well at the zenith, I clicked on excellent shots)
I will mainly shoot macro and sometimes landscapes.
I stand on the choice of D60, D80 and I still read D70 (at a price of +/- 115-130 cu in the secondary market), some instances will be higher but there because of additional lotions.
As a pro Nikonov, advise something to the young fighter.
    ATP in advance for advice

      For Oleg.
As the owner of 3 Nikonovs (D70, D200, D300s), I can advise you to choose between D80 and D200, the D70 has a very small display, it is difficult to see anything on it. On the other hand, there was no display at all on the Zenith, and the frames were quite decent, especially on the 19th. Exposure metering with manual optics will work on the D200, while on the D80, D70 and D60, respectively, it will not. In addition, the D70, D80, D200 have a built-in focusing motor (the so-called “screwdriver”), which allows great savings on “motorless” optics, which is more than enough for Nikon in the secondary market. On D70, some of my “favorite” old manual glasses do not become, namely Helios 81H (85th year of manufacture) and Jupiter 37A. In other words, I would arrange priorities as follows: D200 (For professionalism, by a large margin from the next!), D80 (for the picture quality and ease of use), D70 (for the price, weight and reliability), D60 (well, quite an amateur!). All of the above is my personal subjective opinion, the author of this site has all the listed models in sufficient detail and objectively described in the relevant reviews. The final choice, of course, is yours! I would be glad if my advice is useful!

ATP, for the answer, but my boot got a little tired, and Nikon seemed to have snapped it off with a box and the glass was better, I’m thinking about buying a d1756 as an appendage, and I’ll probably sell this one, it’s more expensive than my camera it’s worth, and it also survived for 3100 s + and that’s a beckoning thing for me))) and with the CCD matrix, as I was dealing with, the D5 was, in principle, particularly pleased with the color rendition, but there went a red band when pulled up from ISO 40 and above , so I sold it while she was alive))) ATP, for the answer again, tomorrow for the last time

Interestingly, are you printing photos on the format of a 9-story building? Or just looking at the screen pixel by pixel? Iso yes is noisy but not at 600 and not 800; And even if the head and hands are in place, the editors can fix everything. So the mat part should be practiced.
