and in Russia it rains and slush)))

    • Arkady Shapoval

We have the same thing, for a whole month. It began on August 30th.

      • Alexander

And we already have snow and frost in Norilsk….

        • kiev_poznyaki

It’s better to have snow and frost (chrome-chrome underfoot) than the rain that has been going on for a month now with short breaks (and shpyak-shmyak, respectively).

  • Lynx

That's exactly today, exactly for the same thing I took a gelik with me. And that nifig is not absolutely pretty. It came down ((except for one traffic sign.))

  • Madness Scif

finally a noble film grain and its good dynamic range and the ability to process)))

Arkady, n90 nikon interesting for the test? if so, please write to the mail).

    • Arkady Shapoval

At the moment, I do not do reviews of film cameras, I do not even plan to review my nikon n8008s.

      • Paul

        Very sorry:(

  • Irina.

Grapes in the back right mesmerized :-)
PS The red berries found in the field are the color of asparagus, or asparagus.

  • Igor

I don’t know what everyone finds in the film? In addition to the shades on the 1st and the last photo, I see nothing outstanding or different from the number. Photos from an artistic point of view are very beautiful, but the technical component spoils them. Noises, white dots and a certain "fading" kill the picture.

    • Do_Oraemon

Monsieur obviously never filmed. The film makes you turn on your upper head: think about the composition, correctly combine the components of the exposure pair, think about the use of exposure compensation, etc. There are only 36 frames. But they can perfectly screw up colors in the lab during processing. With them it will become.

      • Denis

For example, I started with film and shot quite a lot of it. I switched to digital, and I am not at all attracted to film with its “noble grain”.

      • Denis

And also, thinking over each frame in digital is perfectly taught by a small flash drive, the passed stage (my first Fotik also contained about 30-40 photos, there was no capacious memory card ...

  • J-fx

so why are sterile pictures everywhere? the film is awesome - noises (grain), sometimes faded - this also has its own charm

Good Night !!!! Arkady !!!!! Tell me here I have a Canon EOS 1000 D, the adapter is not autofocus I want to put Helios 44-2 on myself. Will the pictures on the device be in full size, that is, the lens will take pictures as a portrait, or how macro shooting will go. On your site I read that all rangefinder lenses on Canon will only shoot in macro mode. I have a Jupiter-11 lens, telephoto, it turns out that it will only take pictures in macro mode? In general, I really like your site on it, there is always more information than any other site. Thanks for the answer !!!! Tell me please !!!!!!

    • Sandy

In view of the small matrix, the projected image from the lens will "climb" beyond the matrix size, but you will not see it :) The image will correspond to that observed in the viewfinder. Helios will be a miniature portraitist, its 58mm focal length is multiplied by the crop factor of a fotika 58 * 1,6 = 92,8mm, and Jupiter with its 135mm will be analogous to 216mm for a crop, you can shoot both macro and portrait ...

  • mad

in our city it's a pity the film is almost extinct. there was only one kodak 400 ultra made in China (since China is nearby). the quality is terrible, the chemistry is also acidic, so the scanner in the lab is only 3-6 megapixels with a dirty lens. take off, show, scan and get horrified ... that's how I had to sell a film camera and stick to digital.

  • Alex

Sandy !!!!!! Thank you so much !!!!!!! Good luck !!!!!!!!!!

  • sergey

first photo “” A tree with really red leaves. Especially for the sake of these leaves I loaded the camera with a film "" I understand that the red color looks different on the film ?? (brighter and more colorful), but green is somehow paler when compared with a figure.

  • Dima

Here you are all looking at the pictures, trying to understand what is the beauty of the film, in comparison with the figure. And I look at Helios-81N and see that it has poor contrast, a dull green color, excessive softness of the picture, bordering on soap. Multilayer enlightenment does not give results even in side light (Arkady deleted a couple of pictures from the review, it was clearly visible there). Cutting eyes hard bokeh.
I had both MS G-81N and G-81M, and I'm looking at this one - the character of the image is the same.
Boring, inexpressive and even dreary. It's not a film or a scanner; with optical photo printing in a good photo lab, the result will be similar to this review.

    • Arkady Shapoval

The most interesting thing is that 1) it is not a review 2) nothing was deleted 3) it looks just fine in print 4) Helios is not so bad as you write :)

      • Dima

It seemed to me that at the beginning there were more pictures, I could have been mistaken.
Let this not be a review, but an article or just an essay, that’s not the point.
Unfortunately, they didn’t look in my press with the G-81.
If you shoot in parallel a FED-5 film (with a standard I-61 l / d), then the G-81 will simply “die” against its background. Until you compare, everything seems to be fine.

P.S. I just recently ended the saga with 81, memories are fresh, there is no desire to experiment again.

  • Denis

The grain of the film is a charm! And the matrix noise (which is present on any matrix and at any sensitivity) is a sad inevitability ...

  • Andeus

“A tree with really red leaves” is a Japanese maple, if that's what. Photos are excellent, I dabble in film myself. Arkady is a fine fellow.

  • i-hero-in

But what kind of autumn we have, in Siberia ... http://foto-olimp.ucoz.ru/photo/fotografii/osen/4
It was yesterday .. And today it is already raining ...

  • Eugene

The black color is littered with - blue spots - yes indeed the film is “cool” ...

  • Fedor

And in Vladivostok they still bathe :))

  • Victor

The film, nevertheless, gave way to your last year's digital photographs. The same thing is happening with my son this year. Can't figure out why? Either the reagents were not of high quality, or the quality of the films became lower. 8-10 years ago, everything was much cooler ...
